Enid police officers received a call about a burglary in progress at 1 p.m. April 23. Little did they
know that what they would walk into was far from
any possible theft.
Detective Tim Doyle reported that a black male,
later identified as Kenneth Moore III, 33, crawled
through a window of a home in the 700 block of
West Pine and once inside, let a white male inside
the front door. Both were carrying property outside the residence, according to the affidavit.
Police Captain Tom Nichols knocked on a door
and a white male, identified as Bryant Bennett, 22, opened it and slammed the door in Nichols’
face. Bennett later said he did not know why he slammed the door and ran.
Doyle then kicked the door open and ordered the two from the residence, but he did not realize Resa Osburn, 45, and Tina Fuentes, 26, two other occupants of the home, were detained
near the front door.
Osburn, the homeowner, said Bennett is welcome at the home anytime and said no burglary
took place.
While police photographed the damage to the back door, Doyle saw a piece of glass in the
living room with lines of methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.
A search warrant was then obtained and executed, turning up three glass pipes with methamphetamine residue, two coin bags containing methamphetamine and seven bags of marijuana
weighing a total of 45 pounds. Five of the bags weighed about five pounds each.
Officers also found marijuana seeds, 69 tramadol pills and 13 vistaril pills in the home. Tramadol is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and restless legs syndrome. Vistaril is an antihistamine but can also be used as a sedative to treat anxiety.
All denied knowledge and ownership of the drugs. Moore stated several times during his interview that Bennett “should own up to his stuff” and “leave him out of it”, but he did not admit
ownership of the methamphetamine that was near the couch where he sat during the search.
Fuentes remains in custody on a $15,000 bond. Osburn, Moore and Bennett were released
on April 25 and 26 on $3,500, $6,000 and $15,000 bonds, respectively.
Moore, Osburn and Fuentes will next appear in Garfield County District Court at 1:15 p.m.
June 4. Burnett will appear at 10 a.m. June 25.

Police in Texas said a pair of attempted robbers
were scared off when their own gun went off during
the crime.
Investigators said two men with their faces covered walked into the Valero Corner Store on Culebra
Road in San Antonio and demanded cash from the
clerk. However, the men fl ed empty handed when
one of their guns accidentally went off. Police said
there were no injuries and offi cers are searching for
suspects.
A 20-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court
on charges that he impersonated a police offi cer.
Chadwyck Voegeli of Fort Wayne was arrested after
he attempted to pull a car over with what appeared
to be a phone displaying red and blue fl ashing lights.
He pulled up next to the car laughing until he saw
the person he attempted to stop fl ash a Fort Wayne
police badge. Two off-duty offi cers were riding in the
car in front of Voegeli. The suspect tried to drive off
but the offi cers followed him to a bar off Leo Road.
Uniformed offi cers arrived at the scene and after a
short chase on foot through the bar, Voegeli was arrested.
A man was given a three-day jail sentence for contempt of court after his wardrobe didn’t pass judicial
muster. LaMarcus D. Ramsey, 20, was in Autauga
County Circuit Court to enter a plea on a charge of
receiving stolen property. Circuit Judge John Bush
took exception to the fact that Ramsey’s blue jeans
were sagging too low. The three-day stint will be
served in the Autauga Metro jail.
“You are in contempt of court because you showed
your butt in court,” a visibly irate Bush told Ramsey.
“You can spend three days in jail. When you get out
you can buy pants that fi t, or at least get a belt to hold
up your pants so your underwear doesn’t show.”
A woman was arrested at her step son’s Boy Scout
meeting. While watching a policeman demonstrate
his drug dog’s ability, the dog found a bag of grass
in her purse.
R.C. Gaitlan, 21, walked up to two patrol offi cers
who were showing their squad car computer felonlocation equipment to children in a Detroit neighborhood. When he asked how the system worked,
the offi cer asked him for identifi cation. Gaitlan gave
them his drivers license, they entered it into the
computer, and moments later they arrested Gaitlan
because information on the screen showed Gaitlan
was wanted for a two-year-old armed robbery in St.
Louis, Missouri.

The Enid Police Department arrested a man April 10 on a
warrant for a first-degree manslaughter charge.
In August 2011, officers worked on an investigation into Michael Bajo, 36, and the circumstances surrounding his girlfriend’s death on August 2.
Bajo took his girlfriend to St. Mary’s Hospital early that morning for a skull fracture that occurred after a domestic dispute.
A nurse at the hospital reported exiting the emergency room
and finding the girlfriend face down and unresponsive in the
back of a pickup truck. Bajo told the nurse the two had a latenight argument in the presence of his three-year-old child and
that the girlfriend threw a beer bottle at him. He said he intended to leave his home when she approached the truck and held
onto the driver’s side door. When Bajo reversed, his girlfriend
was knocked off the vehicle and fell backward, he said.
However, after she fell, Bajo contends she got up and continued to argue with him until
he passed out, only becoming unconscious when he woke up in the morning. In his account,
he helped the woman into the SUV and parked in the backyard of their home, where they
eventually fell asleep. He denied that she had any injuries or bleeding.
Enid officer Kenyon Hughes questioned Bajo at the hospital and learned that he went out
drinking for his birthday and was supposed to be home at midnight, according to the affidavit. Bajo admitted to being drunk and going to two different clubs, not arriving back home
until 2 a.m. the day of the incident.
The girlfriend was pronounced dead at 7 a.m. August 2.
An autopsy determined Bajo’s girlfriend died of blunt force trauma. The probable manner
of death was an accident, according to the medical examiner.
Enid officer Andy Morris later determined that Bajo was driving with a suspended license
at the time of the accident. He also found evidence indicating the truck was reversing during
the incident and information in the autopsy report supporting Bajo’s account of what happened.
Bajo was released from the Garfield County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He will appear in
court at 1:15 p.m. June 16.

Clayton Lockett
Convicted and sentenced to Death
in the 1999 murder of Stephanie
Nieman.
The spree in June, 1999, began
when Lockett and two others
forced their way into Bobby Bornt’s
residence in Perry, police said.
Nieman, 19, of Perry and another
19-year-old from Perry arrived at the
home and were accosted by the men
and had their hands bound with duct
tape. One of the women was raped.
Authorities said the women did not know the suspects. Bornt,
his nine-month-old son and the two women were taken to a
location in Kay County where Neiman was shot. Police said
the others were put back in trucks, driven back to Perry and
released. The child was not harmed. Neiman’s body was
found in a shallow grave along a dirt road near Tonkawa.
One of the suspects led police to the body. The woman’s two
friends have said they believed they were allowed to live
because they had children. In addition to the murder charge,
Lockett was found guilty of conspiracy, fi rst-degree burglary,
three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, three
counts of forcible oral sodomy, four counts of fi rst-degree
rape, four counts of kidnapping and two counts of robbery by
force and fear.
Alfonzo LaRon Veasey Lockett, 19, of Ponca City and
Shawn C. Mathis, 27, also have been ordered held for trial in
Neiman’s death. The Locketts are cousins from Ponca City.

Members of a state House committee have voted
to increase the legal protection of citizens’ constitutional rights.
Senate Bill 1760, by state Sen. Anthony Sykes
and state Rep. T.W. Shannon, would specify that
Oklahomans’ Second Amendment rights cannot be
taken away during a declared state of emergency.
“While government may assume greater police
powers to preserve public safety during times of
emergency, the government should never be allowed to strip citizens of their most basic constitutional rights,” said Shannon, R-Lawton. “This legislation simply makes clear that Oklahomans will continue to have the right to self-defense
during emergency situations.”
Shannon noted that law enforcement officials reportedly seized guns from citizens who
were not engaged in acts of lawlessness after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, which led
many states to reconsider laws dealing with an official state of emergency.
Senate Bill 1760 amends the Oklahoma Riot Control and Prevention Act to state that “neither the governor nor any official of a municipal or state entity shall prohibit or suspend the
sale, ownership, possession, transportation, carrying, transfer and storage of firearms, ammunition and ammunition accessories during a declared state of emergency that are otherwise legal under state law.” The bill would apply to situations where a state of emergency has
been declared to deal with a public disorder, disaster, or riot.
Under the bill, the Oklahoma Riot Control and Prevention Act would continue to allow the
governor to issue proclamations imposing a curfew, banning the sale of alcohol, targeting
individuals using explosive devices, and other activities the governor “reasonably believes
should be prohibited to help preserve and maintain life, health, property or the public peace”
during a disaster or riot.
“In a situation where a riot is severe enough that the governor declares a state of emergency, citizens in the affected area will likely have much greater need for self-defense than at any
other time,” Shannon said. “It makes no sense to force those law-abiding citizens caught in a
bad situation to disarm when they may be threatened with violence by lawless individuals.”
Senate Bill 1760 passed the House Public Safety Committee on a bipartisan 12-0 vote. It
now proceeds to the floor of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

Answer: The first thing to understand in this discussion is that
there is only one race—the human
race. Caucasians, Africans, Asians,
Indians, Arabs, and Jews are not
different races. Rather, they are
different ethnicities of the human
race. All human beings have the
same physical characteristics (with
minor variations, of course). More
importantly, all human beings are
created in the image and likeness
of God (Genesis 1:26-27). God
loved the world so much that He
sent Jesus to lay down His life for
us (John 3:16). The “world” obviously includes all ethnic groups.
God does not show partiality or favoritism (Deuteronomy 10:17;
Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9), and neither should
we. James 2:4 describes those who discriminate as “judges with
evil thoughts.” Instead, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves
(James 2:8). All forms of racism, prejudice, and discrimination are
affronts to the work of Christ on the cross.
Jesus commands us to love one another as He loves us (John
13:34). If God is impartial and loves us with impartiality, then we
need to love others with that same high standard. Jesus teaches in
Matthew 25 that whatever we do to the least of His brothers, we
do to Him. If we treat a person with contempt, we are mistreating
a person created in God’s image; we are hurting somebody whom
God loves and for whom Jesus died.
Racism, in varying forms and to various degrees, has been a
plague on humanity for thousands of years. Brothers and sisters of
all ethnicities, this should not be. Victims of racism, prejudice, and
discrimination need to forgive. Ephesians 4:32 declares, “Be kind
and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in
Christ God forgave you.” Racists may not deserve your forgiveness,
but we deserved God’s forgiveness far less.
What does the Bible say about racism,
prejudice, and discrimination?

Folcroft Police Corporal Christopher Eiserman has seen a
lot during his 14 years as a cop. An alleged Philly drug dealer
standing in the station with 89 bags of dope hanging from his
schlong was not one of them. Not until he met Ray Woods.
“Oh, that guy ... ” Eiserman said when called to ask about
Woods, 23, a resident of the city’s Eastwick section awaiting
his preliminary hearing on drug charges.
Eiserman said another officer was on routine patrol when
he pulled Woods over for a broken rear light and found marijuana in his car. When the officer searched Woods before
placing him in the police cruiser, he discovered “a large bulge”
in the front of his pants, Eiserman said.
Police say Woods actually denied that there was any contraband down there.
“He stopped him for the traffic violation and one thing led to another,” Eiserman said.
Back at the station, Eiserman said, police discovered that Woods had tied a large plastic bag around his penis that contained a whopping 89 small bags of suspected heroin
and cocaine. Then things got messy.
“I tried to remove it. Unfortunately, and I don’t know if it was nervousness or not, but
he started urinating all over,” Eiserman said.
Good times.
While it wasn’t exactly what Eiserman had in mind when he started his shift Friday, he
couldn’t help but chuckle at the ingenuity, or lack thereof, of street-level drug dealers.
“In 14 years, I’ve seen it down their pants, in their a--, but I’ve never seen it tied to
their penis,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it. I guess they figure the police officers aren’t going to check down in that area.”
As for whizzing in the police station, Eiserman said it did not result in additional
charges.
“I don’t think he did it intentionally,” he said. “I think he was nervous, he knew the jig
was up.”

Darlene Mayes, a 73-year-old Craig County woman was jailed
after she was allegedly identified and arrested as a major Craig
County drug supplier.
According to the Craig County Sheriff’s Office, Mayes was reportedly part of a four-month long investigation for suspicion
of trafficking marijuana when members of the county’s drug
task force raided her apartment and vehicle.
Investigators say detectives recovered four pounds of marijuana and more than $270,000 in cash, which Mayes tried to
claim was a part of her retirement.
Detectives also recovered a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver. They believe she may be responsible for 40% of the Grand Lake area’s drug
trade.
Detectives say Mayes had several dealers working under her authority, including her
son, who was also apprehended. Detectives believe it is possible that her network may
have included other states, including Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.
Mayes was booked into the Craig County Jail on several charges, including possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the
commission of a felony.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma
Department of Human Services to impact the huge social
problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the
child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts
order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
It’s ALL about the KIDS!
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a
productive life. Children have the right to get support from both parents and do not
lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost
of raising children. When children receive public assistance and their parents pay no
child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

MANSLAUGHTER- FIRST DEGREE
In 1962, President
John F. Kennedy
signed a proclamation which designated
May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day
and the week in which
that date falls as Police
Week. Currently, tens
of thousands of law
enforcement officers
from around the world
converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned
events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a gathering in Senate Park
of approximately 120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement.
Decades later, the event, more commonly known as National Police
Week, has grown to a series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to our Nation’s Capital each year.
The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, which is sponsored
by the Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, is one in a series
of events which includes the Candlelight Vigil, which is sponsored by
the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF)
and seminars sponsored by Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)
National Police Week draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees. The attendees come from departments throughout the United
States as well as from agencies throughout the world. This provides
a unique opportunity to meet others that share a common brotherhood. In that spirit, the Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1 sponsors receptions each afternoon and evening during Police Week.
These events are open to all law enforcement personnel and are an
experience unlike any other.
NATIONAL POLICE WEEK
MAY 13-19, 2012 The Attorney General’s Public Protection Unit
issued a consumer alert April 3 for a text message scam that claims recipients have won a
Wal-Mart gift card. The scam uses the store’s
name to lure unsuspecting consumers into providing personal and financial information.
These types of scams delivered via mobile
phones are known as smishing. Con-artists randomly send out messages in an attempt to obtain information, and often go to great lengths to
make the messages appear authentic.
Wal-Mart recently posted an alert on its website declaring the messages fake and that the
company doesn’t participate in these types of promotions or request personal information
in this manner.
“Always be cautious when asked to give out personal information, especially when you
didn’t initiate the contact,” Attorney General Scott Pruitt said. “When in doubt it’s best to
verify or disregard the request.”
Attorney General Pruitt said consumers increase the likelihood of getting spam messages
when they sign up for mobile apps, because they’ve increased the number of people who
have their information.
For tips on avoiding fraud or to report a fraudulent text, consumers can call the Attorney
General’s Public Protection Unit at (405) 521-2029 or go online to www.oag.ok.gov.

EMBEZZLEMENT
Every year during Prom and graduation season,
there are many reports of parents going to jail for
hosting parties and providing alcohol to minors at
their homes. Do you think it is okay to provide alcohol
to minors under any circumstances?
Poll
Michelle M: I have allowed my own
two children to try a beer and also a
mixed drink but they had to remain at my
home, not out with friends experimenting or placing themselves or anyone else
in danger. It satisfies the curiosity and allows me to be present to supervise without worry. They and their friends now
call me and ask if I can be a DD or if I
will come get them in the middle of the
night, they also come home to my house
to drink as they are of age now to do so.
They are at least comfortable knowing
that MOM will be there to make sure they
are cared for and no harm is brought to
any of them. My children were the only
ones drinking unless the other parents
were present as I was responsible for my
children and they were to be responsible
for theirs. It was an understanding we
shared as parents.
Elaine B: NO NO AND DEFINITELY
NO!! I lost a good friend of 14 years when
he was just a month shy of his 16th birthday and getting his license.
Jennifer N: I don’t think it’s right
that you can take a bullet for our country
at 18, but you cannot take a drink in it till
you’re 21. That said, 21 is the legal drinking age -- I’m not hosting any parties and
I’d be on the warpath if another adult encouraged my kids to break the law...
Jennifer L: I’ve Never Really Been A
Drinker & There’s No Way My Mother
Would Have Let Me, But Being 20, I’ve
Been To A Few Parties That Had Parents.
They Didn’t Let Anyone Drive Or Anything If They Had Been Drinking. I’m Not
All For It But I’m Also Not All Against
It. It Depends On Who The Parents Are
& What Kind Of People They Are. They
Prolly Only Allow It, Because They Know
The Minors Would Be Supervised & It
Also Depends On The Age Of The Minors
As Well. I’m Just Saying, If My Kid Was
Gunna Drink, I’d Rather Them Drink In
Front Of Responsible Adults, Then To
Go Out Backroading Or What Have You
With A Bunch Of Irresponsible Kids.
AuntTerra M: It’s against the law.
Would not risk getting my mug in OKJailbirds
Mark C: And let me guess here...just
a HUNCH: Every one of you that think
it’s OK for minors to drink also sit around
and moan, bitch, gripe and complain
about SMOKERS too, right? Uh huh...
thought so!
Stephanie M: Yes! Letting your child
drink in your supervision is better than
them keeping it from you! Hate to tell
you but more teens drink than what society wants to believe ..... why not take the
time to teach your kids how to be responsible about it? I was taught early on what
it does and i used to have a beer or two
with my grandmother (not here in the
states).
Donna T: Absolutely NOT, under any
circumstances would I provide my child
liquor!!!!!!! Parents ought to be arrested.
Murdock H: I think if it’s in your
home with your own kids it’s totally fine,
especially at 18. If you can be sent off to
serve and possibly die for your country,
you ought to be able to have some drinks.
Doug F: Law is the law and no parents should set examples that are right
not how to break the law. I’ve raised four
and they never had parties by me
Adam O: When supervised and moderated by responsible parents, yes. Compared to them sneaking around and hiding the fact that they are drinking, its a
no brainer.
Darlene L: I don’t agree with Parents
providing Alcohol to teens in their own
home. It amazes me how some parents
find nothing wrong with watching their
children and other people’s children getting drunk while under their care. The
parents should go to jail in my opinion.
Susan W: No. Its scientific fact that a
high school age child’s brain is not fully
developed. Why potentially cheat your
child out of that development?

Perry Police Officer Jeremy Gass responded to a call April
24 to an apartment on South 7th St. about a woman who
had been punched in the face and was possibly still unconscious. When he arrived at the scene, he saw a man walking
around in the parking lot. Gass immediately recognized the
man as Adolphus Orcutt, 42, from previous contacts with
him.
Gass asked Orcut what had happened and he claimed
three men had jumped him. Come to find out, Orcutt had
become combative when one of the men asked him to get
up off a cooler so he could get a beer. When his girlfriend
tried to calm him down, he punched her in the face.
Gass placed Orcutt under arrest and all the fun started.
First, Orcutt began spitting in the back seat of the police car, then he spat on Gass.
When Gass informed him that he then would be charged with a felony, Orcutt began
cussing and screaming. On the way to the jail, he threatened he would be out in no time
and asked what time Gass got off his shift.
When Orcutt was removed from the patrol car at the jail, he began to jerk away from
the officers, kick at the jail door, and was still screaming profanities. Inside he was told
to stand in a “yellow box” on the floor. He complied for a few minutes, but was still spitting. Soon he was walking around the booking area saying he couldn’t stand because
of a leg injury. He then sat down and began scooting around on his butt and eventually
made it back to the yellow box.
Orcutt announced that he wanted to stand up, but Gass told him to stay seated because of his leg. As Orcutt tried to stand, Gass held him down and Orcutt then started
kicking him. He began spitting again, so jail staff had to bring in the wrap restraint and
the spit mask. Gass was then able to finish his report.
Formal charges were filed against Orcutt in Noble County District Court April 26 for
assault and battery upon an officer, prisoner placing body fluid on government employee, domestic assault and battery, threatening to perform an act of violence, public
intox, obstructing an officer, and resisting an officer/arrest.

By Lt. Jeff James
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Well, spring is in full swing, and
with that comes the potential for
severe weather. Ever since we were
kids, we’ve been drilled on what to do in the event of a tornado or
other significant weather event. Our school systems have drills, our
workplaces have drills, and our cities test our early warning sirens
every week. But what if we aren’t at home, work or school? What
if we are going to or from those places, or just out and about in
our vehicles? Not much emphasis is placed on this, so I thought I
would put down some tips on what to do if you are faced with this
situation.
First and foremost, DON’T PANIC! Be prepared at all times when
driving to take evasive action or drive to shelter. Part of this means
being aware of your surroundings at all times to know where shelter
is. Bad weather doesn’t just appear out of nowhere, so when you
are driving in bad weather, be thinking of what you will do if bad
weather turns worse!
Vehicles are extremely dangerous in a tornado. If the tornado is
visible, far away, and the traffic is light, you may be able to drive out
of its path by moving at right angles to the tornado. Otherwise, park
the car as quickly and safely as possible -- out of the traffic lanes. It
is safer to get the car out of mud later if necessary than to cause a
crash. Get out and seek shelter in a sturdy building. If in the open
country, run to low ground away from any cars (which may roll over
on you). Lie flat and face-down, protecting the back of your head
with your arms. Avoid seeking shelter under bridges, which can
create deadly traffic hazards while offering little protection against
flying debris. One thing to remember though, is that some of these
options may be your only option of shelter, so if its all you have, use
it!
Also, please don’t chase the storm! I know that the awesome
power of nature is a big attraction to some people, but driving
towards tornadoes is a big risk. Tornadoes are unpredictable,
fast, and unforgiving. Given that they can pick up cars and trucks
and deposit them hundreds of yards away, we should respect that
power and avoid it at all costs! Another thing to think about is the
aftermath. Emergency services will need to respond to injuries,
rescues, etc. If you put your vehicle in the way, and it becomes
disabled, destroyed, etc., you run the chance of hindering that
response. As always, thanks for reading, buckle up and be safe!

Hennessey police officers made three arrests May 5 for felony
and misdemeanor drug charges after responding to a reported assault.
Leigha Jo Tuell, 26, reportedly got into an argument with her
boyfriend, Donovan Judd, 19, and called her ex-boyfriend, Steven
Hicks, 23, to come to her home in the 100 block of West Conoco
Road. Judd said Hicks pushed him to the ground, pointed a pistol
at the back of his head and said, “If you don’t leave I’m gonna f---
ing kill you,” according to the affidavit.
Judd left the residence afterward and told an Oklahoma Highway
Patrol trooper passing though what happened. Police said Judd
was “highly animated”, spoke erratically and had dilated pupils.
Hicks said he did not have a gun or assault Judd, but did say Judd
and Tuell were arguing and that everyone involved was drunk.
A consented search of Hicks’ vehicle turned up a glass pipe with
methamphetamine residue and a brown bag of meth, according to
the affidavit. When asked about the drugs, Hicks said Tuell and
Judd asked him to party with them. He also said Judd had meth
but did not have a pipe, so he brought him one from Oklahoma
City. Hicks was then arrested for possession of meth and possession of paraphernalia.
Judd admitted to smoking meth a few hours before the altercation. He was arrested on a municipal complaint of public intoxication.
Tuell told officers she was using Neurontin tablets, which control
epileptic seizures. However, she did not have a prescription for the large amount of pills
found in her house. She also gave the OHP trooper a partially burned marijuana cigarette
that she hid in her bra.
Tuell was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Hicks has a criminal history including charges of arson, bail jumping, domestic assault,
assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence. He pleaded guilty to assault
with a deadly weapon and domestic assault in September 2011 and is currently on probation.
Tuell has since been released from jail, but Hicks remains in lockup. They make their
initial appearances at 2 p.m. May 9.

The Hennessey Police Department arrested
a man April 22 for fourth-degree felony arson
and public intoxication.
Patrolman Charles Francisco responded to a
call at the 100 block of South Cheyenne about
Adolfo Resendiz, 24, who was arguing with his
girlfriend and possibly trying to start a fire. The
girlfriend’s one-year-old daughter was present
during the incident, according to the affidavit.
Resendiz’s girlfriend told Francisco that her
boyfriend came home drunk, which led to an
argument. He then poured the gasoline all over the garage and left
afterward on foot, wearing a blue button-up shirt and baseball cap.
Francisco found Resendiz the worse for wear and tripping on his
own feet in the 300 block of South Cheyenne. Police smelled a strong
odor of gasoline on Resendiz during the stop.
Resendiz had two pocketknives and a lighter in his pocket. When
asked what happened between him and his girlfriend, he said, “Nothing. We didn’t fight or anything. It’s OK.”
He also responded that it was okay to pour gasoline all over his
girlfriend’s garage.
Francisco then arrested Resendiz for public drunkenness and put
him in the patrol car. On the way to the Kingfisher County Jail, Resendiz said he drank everyday and was tired of his girlfriend nagging
him. He also asked Francisco to drive him to Mexico or the “cantina”
and said everything was “okie dokie Kentucky Fried Chicken,” according to the affidavit.
After Resendiz was booked at the jail, Francisco interviewed the
girlfriend, who said he became belligerent when she asked him to
take a shower after working outside with his horse. She reported that
he told her, “F--- off” and called her names.
Resendiz posted bond April 24 for the charges and pleaded not
guilty. He will next appear in court at 1:30 p.m. May 24.

A warrant for the arrest for an Enid woman was issued in Major
County after forgery charges were filed against her April 17.
Courtney Venable, 30, is wanted on two felony charges of uttering forged instruments after she allegedly wrote two checks totaling almost $200 on someone else’s account.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on March 13, the victim contacted Fairview Police Officer Alex Poe and stated Venable
wrote two bogus checks on March 6 at two different businesses in
Fairview.
The victim said he had closed the account because another woman had taken his checkbook and wrote checks without his permission.
At one of the businesses, Venable was caught on camera using
the victim’s checkbook.
The clerk at yet another business said Venable came into the store and wrote a check from
the victim’s checkbook and that she had just seen a notice from management not to accept
checks from the victim’s account because they had been reported stolen. She said knew Venable through several other contacts with her.
If you know of Venable’s whereabouts, you are urged to contact Major County Sheriff’s
Department at 580-227-4471.
