Officers located and arrested 51-year-old Michael S. Geiger on April 28 after an hours-long
search.
Geiger, a suspect in the homicide of a child
earlier that morning, was located on the rooftop of a business near the Grand Prairie Motel,
2818 S. Van Buren, formerly the OYO Motel.
At 1:47 a.m., officers responded to the motel
in reference to a medical emergency. The 911
call reported a child drowning in the motel’s
pool.
Officers arrived and found 2-year-old Caliyah J. Guyton had been removed from the
pool. Officers performed CPR until Life EMS arrived on the scene. They
transported the child to Integris Bass Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
It was noted Guyton had injuries consistent with a sexual assault.
During their investigation, officers determined Geiger was person of interest in Guyton’s death.
EPD Detectives were contacted and sent to the motel to begin their
investigation.
Geiger fled the motel prior to officers arriving and was seen on foot
heading northwest. A K-9 officer responded to the scene to begin a track
but lost Geiger’s trail near Richland Road when it began to rain.
After an intense search by all available officers, at 9:13 a.m. Geiger was
located on top of a building at 2710 S. Van Buren and taken into custody
on complaints of first-degree murder and first-degree rape.
Geiger did not confess to the crimes during an interview but made statements that corroborated physical evidence collected at the scene.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
“This was an aggravated assault on an innocent child and a very disturbing incident,” Lt. Bryan Hart said. “We’re glad this case was brought to an
end in a timely manner with Mr. Geiger’s arrest.”
We want to thank all of our Patrol Officers, Detectives, Administrators
and Civilian personnel who helped bring this suspect to justice. We also
want to thank the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, Waukomis Police Department, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Oklahoma Department
of Corrections and other law enforcement agencies who assisted us in our
investigation.
Oklahoma Department of Corrections’ records show Geiger was discharged from ODOC custody March 29, 2022, on a 10-year sentence for
a charge of kidnapping out of Oklahoma County.

MOM ON ALERT
Last month, a 35-year-old Enid man was
arrested on a complaint of soliciting sexual
conduct from a minor by use of technology
after speaking with an Enid Police Department detective posing as a 14-year-old.
On April 25, an officer took a report from
a woman who said while reviewing her
step-daughter’s phone messages she found
messages from James Michael Gambrell.
The woman began speaking to Gambrell
using a “fake” account and also communicated with him using a text messaging app.
During those conversations, which were often sexual in nature, the woman told Gambrell she was 14 years old. She asked Gambrell if that bothered him and he said it did not.
On April 27, the woman provided Detective Randy Wilson with consent to
take over the accounts used to converse with Gambrell.
Wilson began to communicate with Gambrell while posing as the 14-yearold. During these conversations, Gambrell asked to meet up for sex. He tells
the detective he wants a real honest relationship where they could start a
family. Gambrell then sends a message with wedding ring emojis.
On April 28, arrangements are made for Gambrell to pick up the teen from
a business in the 700 block of East Broadway.
When he arrived at the location at the agreed upon time, Gambrell was
taken into custody and booked into the Garfield County Detention Facility.

CONGRAULATIONS!!
Please join us in congratulating Nicole Binckley
for her promotion making her the department’s first
female police supervisor.
Binckley joined the department June 23, 2016,
and entered Patrol Division’s B Shift after completing
her department training phases.
She spent a year and a half in patrol before transferring to Detective Division as an Adult Crimes detective. She spent a little more than a year and a
half as a detective before returning to Patrol Division’s B Shift as a Field Training Officer. In January of
this year, she transferred to C Shift, where she has
worked until her promotion.
“I feel proud,” Binckley said of becoming the
department’s first female police supervisor. “I feel
grateful for being given the opportunity to be in this
position.”
Binckley tested Feb. 24 for the position of sergeant, placing third on the list of
eligible candidates.
She said the thought of being the department’s first female police supervisor
was present throughout the entire testing process.
“It crossed my mind because everyone reminded me about it throughout the
whole process. During the testing process I was just nervous and was hopeful
to just make the list,” Binckley said. “When I found out that I was actually going
to get promoted I felt extremely proud that I was going to take on this role and
responsibility.”
She said the enormity of the role she is assuming has not quite hit her just yet.
“I realize it’s an historic event and I just really want to do a good job filling these
giant invisible shoes that I’m about to jump into,” Binckley said.
Binckley said growing up she wanted to be a lawyer but couldn’t stay focused
enough following high school to do the required schooling to become a lawyer.
Prior to joining the department, Binckley served more than two years in the United States Air Force before leaving for family reasons.
“I went into the military and had a family,” she said. “But the itch to be in some
fashion of the law was still there. I came to realize that I wanted to be law enforcement, that aspect of the law and not an attorney.”
Binckley moved to Enid in 2014, and worked at the Garfield County Detention
Facility before applying with the Enid Police Department.
“When the opportunity came up when I moved here, I was too nervous to apply
here so I applied at the jail,” she said. “I realized I loved the chaos, the unpredictability, that nothing is the same every day. A few years later, I got the courage to
apply at the police department and the rest is history.”
Binckley said she’s worked with a lot of great officers and leaders throughout
the department. She wanted to thank her field training officers Cody Smith, Shawn
Aebi, Mike Atchley and Brian Schwarzkopf. She also wanted to thank her training
lieutenant at that time, now Capt. Warren Wilson.
“The first day of B Shift they told me it was sink or swim,” Binckley said. “I’ve
worked with different leaders throughout the department that have really inspired
me to lead.”
Congratulations Nicole. We wish the best in this new chapter of your career.

BROTHERS GRIM
A fight between two stepbrothers ended
with one brother in the hospital and the other
one behind bars.
According to reports, a Woods County
deputy was dispatched to a residence on
Cimarron Pass in Freedom at approximately
7:20 p.m. on April 26. The deputy had been
to this residence before due to domestic disputes.
When he arrived, he met with EMS and fire
department personnel. They advised that a
man had a broken jaw.
Another man, 21-year-old Matthew Triston Meredith, told the deputy that the man
with the broken jaw, who happened to be his
stepbrother, was intoxicated. They had been arguing, and the victim got in
Meredith’s face and pushed up against him. Meredith said he hit the victim in
the face, and the victim fell to the ground.
The two continued to fight. Meredith hit the man in the face several times.
The fight took place a couple of blocks away from the residence, but the
men returned to the area after the fight.
The victim’s mouth was in an odd position, and he was having trouble
speaking. He told the deputy that he and Meredith started arguing. Meredith
hit him in the jaw. The two men fought while on the ground, and Meredith hit
him in the face several times.
The deputy placed Meredith under arrest and the victim was transported to
the hospital, where it was determined he had a fractured jaw.
Meredith is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond
was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on May 10, 2022.

Could she be a tater hater?
On April 9, at 10:00 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers were called out to the Sonic near 59th
and S. Lewis in Tulsa for an assault with a
weapon.
After investigating and talking with multiple
witnesses, officers learned the incident started with Stacy Minihan sitting in a Ford Expedition at one of the stalls at Sonic.
When the carhop delivered Minihan’s food,
Minihan became very upset because the
order took too long. As the carhop tried to
explain the restaurant was short staffed, witnesses saw Minihan get out of the car, slap
the tray of food out of the carhop’s hand, then
punch the carhop in the chest.
Another witness followed Minihan attempting to get her license plate. Minihan then pulled over her car, got out, and shot that witness in the face with
her Kimber Pepperblaster pepper ball gun. This victim was hit multiple times
and bleeding from the head.
Minihan drove to a nearby Quiktrip where Officers caught up with her and
placed her under arrest. Officers recovered the pepper ball gun (pictured),
nearly 30 grams of meth (pictured), and other drug paraphernalia.
Minihan was arrested for:
- Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapons
- Assault & Battery
- Trafficking Meth
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
**No word on what exactly was in that Sonic order or if any tater tots were
injured.

18 | MAY 2022 KINGFISHER COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
AROUND THE AREA
EPD Detective Sgt. Aaron Barber arrested
a 22-year-old Enid man on complaints of distribution of child pornography and violations
of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
Alfredo “Freddie” Soria was arrested April
27, following an interview with Barber at the
station.
Our department was contacted March 29,
with a tip generated by the National Center
for Missing and Exploited Children.
The tip reported two videos uploaded to
SnapChat depicting child pornography from
an IP address located in Enid.
The tip also reported the user who uploaded the videos was “freddie_soria” and included the date of birth, email address and phone number for the user.
On March 31, Barber prepared search warrants for SnapChat and the Internet service provider for the provided IP address. Those warrants were served
to the respective companies the same day.
On April 18, the warrant from the Internet service provider was returned and
provided an Enid address for the account with the tip’s listed IP address, the
same one listed for Soria.
Soria was located and brought to the police station for an interview. During
the interview, Soria admitted to Sgt. Barber he sent the two videos to another
SnapChat user.
Soria was booked in the Garfield County Detention Facility on the felony
complaint.

SUSPECTS SENTENCED IN OSBI OIL FIELD
THEFT IN ALFALFA COUNTY
Two suspects in an Oklahoma State Bureau
of Investigation (OSBI) oil field theft investigation
have received a combined sentence of 57 years
in prison.
The OSBI was requested by the Alfalfa County
Sheriff’s Office to assist with the investigation on
July 21, 2021. Two days before, the sheriff’s office had arrested 50-year-old Neal Scrimsher and
34-year-old Harold Willson after receiving a tip
that the pair was driving around the county with a
trailer full of oil field equipment and copper wire.
Because of ongoing oil field thefts in Alfalfa and
Grant counties, the sheriff requested assistance
from the OSBI’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
In January of 2022, Scrimsher plead no contest to one charge of Knowingly Concealing
Stolen Property. In March he received a 27-year
sentence to be served in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Willson plead guilty to one
charge of Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property in March 2022 and received a sentence of 30
years to be served in the Oklahoma Department
of Corrections.
