A domestic violence call ended with an
Enid man’s arrest on drug charges Oct. 24.
Just before 4 p.m. that day, three Enid
police officers were dispatched to the 800
block of E. Cherokee after receiving a report
of ex-con Brian Holinsworth, 42, assaulting
a female and using a gun. Holinsworth was
also threatening to kill himself, according to
the affidavit.
Holinsworth has three prior controlled
substance possession convictions, according
to his rap sheet.
The officers confronted Holinsworth, who denied having a gun, despite a witness’ report to the contrary. When police asked about Holinsworth’s altercation with the female, he said there was “no problem there”.
When police asked whether they could search Holinsworth’s house
for the suspected gun, he declined. However, the suspect asked
whether it was illegal for him, as a convicted felon, to have a crossbow. His concerns about gun laws eventually took over and he consented to a search.
Inside the residence, officers found a pair of brass knuckles with a
knife. There was also a water bong in the kitchen, a metal marijuana
pipe with marijuana in the bathroom and a black semi-automatic
handgun in a ceiling tile above the toilet, according to the affidavit.
Holinsworth also had a large rock of methamphetamine in a black
case, officer Keith Siragusa said.
Realizing an extensive search was necessary, the officers obtained
a search warrant, which was served just before 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24.
During the search, Holinsworth admitted ownership of all the contraband in his house, which totaled 21.5 grams of methamphetamine,
three syringes, 3 grams of marijuana, 4 pipes and a 9mm handgun
with 7 rounds in the magazine.
Holinsworth posted a $20,000 bond Oct. 27.

Enid police detectives caught a local woman in an undercover drug
sting on Oct. 18.
Two days before, a confidential informant met with two detectives
and arranged to buy 1.5 grams of methamphetamine for $150 from
Lisa Foster, 36.
The informant, wearing a wire, went to Foster’s residence, located
at the 800 block of N. Johnson, and gave her the money. Foster said
she would come back to her house soon after and give the informant
the drugs. However, later she said she could only give the informant
a half-gram of methamphetamine because her dealer had not “reupped” yet.
The next day, the informant visited Foster to get the missing gram
of methamphetamine and $220 worth of crack cocaine. Soon after the deal, both Foster and
the informant left the residence. Officers weighed the two rocks of contraband, which weighed
7.9 and 0.9 grams, respectively.
On Oct. 18, Foster was arrested for driving under suspension and transported to the Enid
Police Department for an interview. During the interview, she admitted selling the informant
crack cocaine and methamphetamine. She also admitted selling the first half-gram of methamphetamine. A search of her wallet revealed a marked bill used by the informant, according
to the affidavit.
She was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor count of distributing controlled
substances Oct. 22.
Foster remains in custody on a $20,000 bond. She has court set for 1:15 p.m. Dec. 3.

Investigators need
help with cold case
Judith Elwell, 5, vanished from her parents’ northwest Oklahoma City home sometime before 9 p.m. July
6, 1967. One of her shoes was found the next day beside
an abandoned house half a block from the Elwell home,
leading police to theorize she lost the shoe while struggling with her kidnapper. No other trace of her turned up.
In the hours and days after her disappearance, hundreds of searchers swept across the area. Individual volunteers mingled with police, firefighters and Civil Air
Patrol workers, and a command post grew outside the
Elwell’s house. After three days the hunt was called off. At
some point over the past four decades, the police case file
was misplaced or destroyed.
Another little girl named Brenda White, 6, from Midwest City, went missing a month after Judith. Unfortunately, hunters found Brenda’s body in November 1967
about 11 miles east of her home in a shallow grave. Judith has never been found. Police believe
on person could be responsible for both disappearances, as they happened so close together.
If you have any information on this case, please call your local police department or contact
Thiessen Detective Agency at 580-284-1616 or [email protected].

A 23-year-old man was arrested at a Walmart
Nov. 5 after flashing his breast implants at fellow
shoppers before spitting blood at police.
Jeremy Owens, from Pennsylvania, was arrested
for his alleged bizarre behavior at the Lackawanna
County store.
Police found him on a local bus which he then
refused to get off.
After he was arrested and put into a police car,
Owens, who calls himself ‘Jamie’ banged his head
against the window and cut himself, which allowed
him to spit blood at officers.
The 23-year-old was jailed for aggravated
assault, drug possession, and making terrorist threats.
He was not charged for indecent exposure.
Owens was arrested two weeks ago for lying to police about the abduction of a friend
and previously in March following a disturbance at a doughnut shop when he allegedly
spat on two female customers.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma
Department of Human Services to impact the huge social
problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the
child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts
order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
It’s ALL about the KIDS!
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a
productive life. Children have the right to get support from both parents and do not
lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost
of raising children. When children receive public assistance and their parents pay no
child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Proverbs 22:6 says “Train
up a child in the way he
should go: and when he is
old, he will not depart from
it.”
Children have a wonderful
capacity for trust. The faith
they put in adults is unqualified, and that should humble us; we
often don’t deserve it.
Sometimes kids suffer from intentional betrayal by a trusted
adult, like former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, recently
convicted of sexually abusing underprivileged young boys. Other
times, they are neglected by society at large, as are the 1.7 million
children with a parent behind bars. Many of these kids face enormous
obstacles, but get little notice.
The Bible affirms that children are a central focus of God.
Our national problem is not that we somehow undervalue children;
it’s that we don’t always know where to look to find the children most
in need of our help. Inmates’ children in particular get placed on
the back burner. They grow up in single-parent homes, or they get
shuffled into foster care. They are five times more likely than their
peers to live in poverty. They often endure confusion, loneliness,
depression, abandonment, social ostracism, and profound anger.
Should we be surprised if they often follow their parents to prison?
It doesn’t take much to ease the burden of an inmate’s family.
Churches—and other people of good will—can incorporate prisoners’
children into their existing programs, like VBS, youth mentoring
programs, or summer camps. They can make sure kids have the
supplies they need to succeed in school, or gifts to celebrate the
holidays; the opportunities are boundless.
If we take seriously the notion that every child has inherent worth
and deserves our society’s nurture and protection, we cannot afford
to ignore children with an incarcerated parent. Like Jesus, we must
reach out to them, and their trust will for once not be betrayed. In
turn we will discover that the blessing goes both ways: They will
teach us what it means to have faith that pleases God, faith that
presses in close, believing everything will be okay.
The Bible says

What you’re saying
about this on...
Kerri J: What an idiot. He does have rights.
Keep it in his pants, that is his right. Dumbass
Lori S: Its absurd that someone actually
listened to his argument.
Dee D: get some one ur own age dude and
lucky it wasn’t my kid
Megan Q: Y’all are ridiculous. Just because
he’s a teacher it’s against the law because it
was consensual. She was the age of consent.
A 16 year old can have sex with whatever age
they want now?? Seriously y’all are totally
missing the point!!
Lori B: For real?? If I were the Judge... Boot
his but out of the court room: instantly!
Stay away from my daughter!
Chris S: Seems now schools r not getting to b
a place to educate
William B: If it was my daughter he wouldn’t
have to worry about a trial or prison!
Jennifer C: What they NEED to do to solve
this is RAISE the legal age again!!! Things
weren’t so grey when WE were kids - the age
was 18, all in black and white. Didn’t matter
WHO you were, the minimum age of consent
was 18 - NO IF’s, AND’s, or BUT’s about it!!!
Kids are too irresponsible nowadays anyway
to be allowed to make that choice that young...
Coleman R: I dunno, its actually a good
argument to be made. It’s sick, yes, but a good
legal argument.
Charles B: yeah let’s break laws knowingly
and then when we get caught say they are
unconstitutional.
Jamie D: If they made that legal could you
imagine how school would be!? teachers and
students would be (beep) nonstop. Schools
would just be whorehouses. more than they
are now!! teachers would be handin out A’s
For B*’s
Lacy F: lol you guys kill me with the “if it
was my daughter” hello! people your 16 year
old daughter is having sex...Stop blaming the
guys all the time, this girl is just as guilty.
Tabitha C: We don’t want to send our
16 year old daughters to school with old
perverted men knowing it’s ok to have sex
with them! Can you imagine every naive, low
self esteemed teenage girl dating a teacher? I
want to send them to school knowing they are
safe and there to learn not to get hit on, or we
might as well send them to clubs! Ridiculous!
It’s unprofessional and sick!
Angela D: I agree the age should be raised.
Here in Oregon it is mandated that you
become a sex offender if caught and if you’re
over 18 seeing someone under 18. I think It’s
a great law.
Tena S: He KNEW it was illegal for a school
employee to have sex with a student and did it
anyway...PERIOD!
Jessica E: ...its never the child’s fault.
They are young, naive, immature and
full of hormones. Incapable of making an
informed decision. The adult should be held
accountable for taking advantage. Even if the
teen is flirting. A teacher should be able to say
no
Brittany B: YAll say to protect ur kids
from them old perverts.... So what about
when u send them to work.. or to the store...
Anywhere u go you will have them certain ppl
that go for younger girls/ guys or older girls/
guys... If grades are getting turned better by
him because she is doing them things yes that
is wrong... But if it’s consensual then it’s not
really fair to charge him with rape... She is just
as guilty
Amber H: i think he was wrong all the way
and it were my child he wouldnt get away with
it nomatter his excuse thats my opinion
Jennifer V: really?????? outtaline period hes
a grown ass man and she is 16!!!! she might
look grown and maybe she was ok with it
but hell no hes a grown ass man and she is
a teenage KID.. i was mature for my age but
still hell no im a 28 year old woman now and
at 16 looking back i had alot of growing to
do and had really no idea about the world i
thought i knew everything about when i was
16 maybe not “rape” but for damn sure a sex
crime and spend time he deserves to have his
ass kicked and thrown in jail. he is 100% a
sexual predator. that just really got under my
skin UGH!!
A former high school coach accused of having sex with a
female student fights to have his case dismissed.
The suspect’s attorney said the state’s age of consent law
is unconstitutional.
The controversial legal fight centers on a state law
banning sexual relationships between students and
school employees.
The former educator accused of breaking that law,
Tyrone Nash, allegedly carried on a sexual relationship
with a female student at Western Heights high school.
Nash asked the court to overturn state law.
Under the current law, it would legal for the judge in the case to have consensual
sex with a 16-year-old girl, but Nash, as a former school employee, may not
have the same right.
That’s why the defense said the law should be unconstitutional.
What do you think?

A Perry man was sentenced Nov. 5 to
10 years in prison, with five of those years
suspended, after he sold a confidential informant 2 grams of meth on Oct. 24.
Satish Chand Jeet, II, 36, was originally
charged with distribution of CDS within
2000 feet of a park/school, second offense, possession of CDS, and use of an
electronic device to facilitate a felony in
Noble County District Court, but counts
two and three were dropped without costs
and count one was was reduced to possession with intent to distribute, dropping
the within 2000 feet of a park/school.
Jeet was under surveillance by members of the Perry Police Department when he met the informant at a local convenient store in
Perry and sold him two grams of what he called “fire dope”, aka meth,
for $200. After the deal, Jeet slipped away and was not found until
a tip came into the police department on Jeets whereabouts and he
was found walking along E. Tower Street. He was taken into custody
and transported to the Noble County Jail.
Jeet pled guilty, and along with his sentence, was ordered to pay
fines and costs.

A Drumright man was taken into custody after he robbed
an adult store in Stillwater and took off with two magazines,
$150, and a new rubber girlfriend.
Jesse Allen Smith, 27, was charged Oct. 15 with robbery with
a dangerous weapon and attempting to elude police in Payne
County District Court.
According to information in the case, Smith went into the
Christy’s Toy Box on N. Perkins Rd. late Oct. 11 and threatened
the clerk with a knife. He then took the blow-up doll, the
magazines and the cash and fled.
Authorities caught up with Smith in his 1999 Ford truck at
the corner of 3rd and Perkins Rd. Smith refused to pull over
and a high-speed chase ensued. At the intersection of Jardot
and Sixth, he blew through the signal light and narrowly missed a patrol car. The chase
ended when Smith crashed his truck into a telephone pole at the end of a dead-end
street and had to be tased into submission.
A knife was recovered from the truck.
Smith was transported to the Payne County Jail and booked in. Bail was set at
$100,000.

Registered Sex Offenders for The Area
FACT:
If a victim does not say “no” or does not
“fight back,” it is not sexual assault.
False. Sexual assault victims may not say
“no” or not fight back for a variety of reasons
including fear and confusion. Rape victims often
report being “frozen” by fear during the assault,
making them unable to fight back; other victims
may not actively resist for fear of angering the
assailant and causing him to use more force in
the assault. Pressure to be liked and not be talked
about negatively by a peer will sometimes cause
adolescents or children to avoid fighting back or
actively resisting.

Fall is finally here, and with the
arrival of cooler temperatures and
the turning of the leaves, a lot of
people in Oklahoma head to the
woods to enjoy the fall hunting seasons. Every year, thousands of
people enjoy a safe and enjoyable hunting season, and proper safe
firearms handling is a big reason why. I’m going to touch on some of
these safe firearms handling tips, and hopefully, this will help insure
that we all have a safe hunting
season.
First, lets cover the four basic safety rules for firearms handling.
1: Always treat a firearm as if it were loaded! Never make the
assumption that a gun is unloaded, even if you just saw someone
unload it. Many unintentional discharges of firearms are usually
followed by someone saying, “I didn’t think it was loaded”. 2: Never
point a firearm at anyone or anything that you are not willing to kill
or destroy. Good muzzle discipline is a cornerstone of safe firearms
handling. 3: Always keep your finger (primary safety) off the trigger
and outside the trigger guard until you have made a conscious
decision to shoot. It only takes a fraction of a second to get that finger
on the trigger from outside the trigger guard when you have decided
to make a shot, so there is no reason to have your finger on the trigger
until then. 4: Always make positive target identification, be sure of
your backstop and the area around and beyond your target. This
one is pretty is pretty common sense...you shouldn’t be shooting at
anything that you don’t know what it is! Knowing what is around and
behind what you are shooting at is critical, because bullets can travel
a long, long ways, even after hitting your target in some situations. In
addition to these, I would add to keep all mechanical safeties engaged
until ready to shoot, and re-engage them when done.
A common occurrence in the field while hunting is crossing fences.
This can be done safely by handing your weapon to a partner,
crossing the fence, and having him hand both your’s and their’s over
to you before they cross. If alone, simply unload the gun, set it on the
ground, cross the fence, then retrieve the gun...and make sure you
keep the barrel pointed in a safe direction! Speaking of unloading a
gun, it is very important to do so correctly. Once you think you have
all the cartridges out of the weapon, physically and visually check
both the chamber and the magazine to make sure! When loading,
again, make sure your barrel is pointed in a safe direction! Also, if
you are hunting in an elevated stand, don’t climb up or down with a
loaded weapon!
Following these simple steps can be the difference between a
safe, enjoyable hunting experience, or a trip to the hospital or
worse! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!

A mother-daughter team faces felony
theft charges after one’s arrest in Kingfisher County Oct. 21.
Beginning Aug. 30, Kingfisher County sheriff’s deputy Jason Conner spoke
to two people who reported their house
was broken into. One of the victims
said he went to buy a money order in
Cashion and the other said she left the
home to meet him there.
When the man pulled into his driveway, he reported a suspicious vehicle
parked there and heard giggling from
inside the home. He said he saw his exgirlfriend Michelle Baird, 45, and her
stepmother Brenda Baird, 60, inside and ordered both of them to
leave. However, after they left, the victims realized they were missing
four Mickey Mouse watches, a sterling silver Fossil watch, a book of
checks, two Louis Vuitton handbags, a topaz necklace and a diamond
ring.
The man said he and Michelle stopped dating in September 2010
but she has been stealing things from him for more than a year.
Conner asked Brenda about the burglary but she said she did not
know where the victims lived. However, she said Michelle would be
able to show officers the way to the house.
When Conner spoke to Michelle, she claimed the man was in the
house because his A/C unit was on, adding that he would not have
left it on if he wasn’t home, according to the affidavit.
Officers did not arrest Michelle at the time, but on Oct. 15 Oklahoma City police officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call
involving she and Brenda. At the scene, Brenda gave an officer the
missing checkbook and said Michelle stole it. Michelle was taken to
the Oklahoma City Jail that day and now has an outstanding warrant
in Kingfisher County for second-degree burglary.
Brenda was released from custody Oct. 24. She has court set for
1:30 p.m. Dec. 13.

Hennessey police officers unwittingly made a large drug bust after a traffic
stop Oct. 20.
Hennessey officer Kevin Schuneman pulled over a brown Chevrolet pickup
for speeding just before 3:30 a.m. that day. Schuneman approached Miguel
Ramos-Ruiz, 22, and was nearly overwhelmed by the smell of alcohol coming
from the inside of the car and the driver’s side door. There was also a puddle of
liquid on the floormat below Ramos-Ruiz, Schuneman said.
The suspect admitted having “about four beers” and gave the officer a Mexican driver’s license. He had no passport or Oklahoma driver’s license. While
Schuneman looked in Ramos-Ruiz’s car for more alcohol, he saw the man
throw something on the ground.
Schuneman looked, picked up the folded dollar bill and asked Ramos-Ruiz if it belonged to him.
He denied it. When the officer opened the one-dollar bill, he saw a white powder substance, forcing
Ramos-Ruiz to admit he threw cocaine out of his car.
Ramos-Ruiz was arrested and the vehicle impounded. A search turned up another folded one-dollar
bill with cocaine inside, as well as several open beer cans. He was taken to the hospital for a blood test
and then transported to jail.
At the Kingfisher County Jail, officers determined Ramos-Ruiz had 2.6 grams of cocaine in his possession. Ramos-Ruiz faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence
of alcohol and driving without a valid license.
He posted bond soon after his arrest and has a court date set for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 13.

A Fairview man was taken to the hospital and then later
to jail after he was stabbed during a bar fight that he started.
Sidney Carter, 44, was charged Oct. 11 with assault and
battery and public intoxication in Major County District
Court.
Officer Brant Bishop was dispatched Oct. 6 to a bar fight at
the Korner Bar on N. Main. When he arrived, he was flagged
down by a man at the donut shop across the street. The man
told Bishop the guy across the street sitting in his pickup was
wasted and then pointed at a truck parked on the north side
of Walnut Street. He could see the door to the pickup was
open and a pair of legs were hanging out of the cab.
The man went on to tell Bishop that the man in the truck,
later identified as Carter, had started a fight with another
man inside the bar and was booted out, then attacked a second man, and then him. After Carter had decked him a couple of times, the man pulled a knife and warned Carter that he didn’t want any trouble and
to leave him alone. Carter again attacked the man, so the man jabbed him a couple of times
until Carter ran away back to his truck.
EMS arrived and transported Carter to the hospital where he received stitches for his injuries. Due to the fact that Carter was extremely agitated and injured, Bishop and Deputy
Travis Sheets decided it best not to arrest him on the spot so he wouldn’t hurt himself further
in a potential scuffle with the officers.
