TAKING THE LAW INTO
YOUR OWN HANDS
An Enid man was taken into custody after he shot
another man after an altercation over a stolen motorcycle.
Ebin Christopher Joe Semrad, 20, was charged
October 29 with assault and battery with a deadly
weapon, in Garfield County District Court.
According to an Enid PD media release, Enid Police Department detectives arrested a 20-year-old Enid man early on October 22 on a complaint of aggravated assault
with a deadly weapon following a shooting the night before.
At 9:43 p.m. on Monday, October 21, EPD officers along with Enid Fire Department, Life EMS, North Enid Police Department the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office
responded to the 600 block of East Cornell for a report of a man who had been shot
and was lying in the road.
Officers arrived and found 35-year-old Clayton Wilmont in the road with a gunshot
wound to his back. Another individual, Damian Rieken, 35, was assaulted at the
same location and unconscious.
Wilmont was transported to a landing zone where he was flown to OU Medical in
Oklahoma City with life threatening injuries. Wilmont was listed in critical condition at
the hospital and underwent surgery. Rieken was transported to St. Mary’s Regional
Medical Center.
In the course of their investigation, investigators detained Ebin C. Semrad, 20,
in the 1300 block of West Oklahoma. During an interview, Semrad confessed to
shooting Wilmont.
Rieken and Semrad planned to confront Wilmont about a stolen motorcycle and
Wilmont assaulted Rieken. After this assault, Semrad shot Wilmont.
Bond was set for $250,000 and his next court appearance is scheduled for November 25.

AROUND THE STATE
Gotta give kudos to a Jennings man who was
so determined to get to his court date on time in
Pawnee that he “borrowed” a LifeNet truck to get
there. But, alas, it was all for nothing.
Kody Ray Adams, 28, was charged September
25 with larceny of a motor vehicle, in Payne County District Court.
According to OHP, Adams was at a gas station
in Stillwater on September 24 asking people for a ride to Pawnee County for his
court date. When he couldn’t find a ride, he decided to hop in an unoccupied
LifeNet ambulance supervisor vehicle that had been left running.
OHP Ryan Trooper Long caught Adams at the courthouse walking in after
Adams had ditched the vehicle. Trooper Long arrested him after he admitted to
“borrowing” the vehicle, took him up to his court date, and then took him right
back to Payne County.
And guess what the court date was for??? Possession of a stolen vehicle.
Adams’ next court date was set for October 1, which he missed because
he was still in Payne County jail, and bond for the Pawnee County charge was
revoked.

Willow man Matthew Triston Meredith, 23, is
facing two counts of child sexual abuse after he
allegedly abuse a teen girl.
According to reports, a Department of Human
Services child welfare specialist reported to the
Woods County Sheriff’s Office on August 15 that
she had been made aware of a rape. The rape involved a juvenile who said Meredith had molested
and raped her several times.
Investigators spoke to the 14-year-old girl on August 27. She said she lived at
a relative’s home in Freedom from July 4 through October 30, 2022. She said
Meredith raped her while they were alone in the house together. The girl said that
she told the man to stop, but he didn’t. She also told investigators that Meredith
sexually touched her when she was around five or six years old.
A Woods County deputy spoke to a woman who lived in Freedom with Meredith. She said that she knew that Meredith had sometimes been alone with the
victim.
During the investigation, the deputy learned that when Meredith was 16, he
was accused of sexual assaulting an 8-year-old girl in Beckham County.
After Meredith was arrested in the Woods County case, he admitted to investigators that he had sexually assaulted the victim.
Meredith is being charged with two counts of child sexual abuse. His bond
was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 12,
2024.

HARBERING ILL WILL
A 29-year-old Fargo man was taken into custody after he allegedly beat a man and left him lying
in the roadway.
According to reports, Woodward police officers
found the victim lying in the street on September
29 near 8th and Oklahoma Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. The victim’s lips were badly swollen
and his eye sockets were broken. The man also
suffered some brain bleeding.
During the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage that showed a
man, later identified as Ryan Bennett Harber, chasing the victim down the street
before he assaulted him.
Officers obtained a search warrant for Harber’s home. While they were searching his residence for the clothes the suspect had on in the surveillance video,
Harber’s mom told them that she knew the shirt the suspect had on. She also
said that Harper was headed to Oklahoma City.
The woman also showed police officers a video from Harber. The video
showed the victim trying to get away from whomever was filming. In the video,
the victim did not have the injuries that officers had found him with.
Harber is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond was
set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 19, 2024.

DONATION ACCEPTED!
On behalf of local law enforcement agencies we would like to thank Mr. Tony
Valuikas for donating 4 pepper ball rifles, practice ammo & live round ammo to
the Perry Police Department and Noble County Sheriff Office. Sheriff McGuire
& Chief Thomas are grateful for the strong relationships in the community that
support local law enforcement in keeping everyone safe.
This pepper delivery weapon system used by law enforcement is generally utilize in the role of a stand-off weapon, where close physical proximity to a suspect
is deemed dangerous but deadly force is not warranted.
Officers can be as far as 175 feet away from the suspect. The pepper ball
projectile filled with PAVA
(pelargonic acid vanillylamide) when deployed will
burst upon impact and release an intense pepper
cloud, which incapacitates
the threat. Just one ball
breaking within 15 feet
from a suspect will immobilize the suspect in a matter
of seconds. PAVA primarily
affects the eyes causing
closure and severe pain,
with a burning sensation on
your skin and produce uncontrollable coughing.

made possible by both private and corporate donations.
The program is open to U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively
employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with
expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law
enforcement K9s throughout the United States.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount,
while a single donation of $985 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of
$1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lb., and comes with a five-year warranty.
