TOWN TO TOWN
An Enid man and his buddies were arrested September 22 after he led law enforcement on a chase
through Enid and several area towns.
According to reports, an Enid police officer was dispatched to Atwoods at approximately 6:42 p.m. to
investigate a shoplifting incident. The suspect license
plate number matched a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Major County.
The officer saw the vehicle leave the parking lot of
the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. He tried to stop it, but
the driver kept on going, driving through stop signs
and reaching speeds up to 90 mph.
Eventually, the driver turned onto Rupe and continued going a few miles out of town. A Garfield County
deputy deployed stop sticks at Rupe and Imo, puncturing at least one of the vehicle’s tires.
The pursuit continued into Lahoma, then into Drummond. The vehicle finally turned into a driveway. Four
occupants jumped out of the vehicle and took off running.
25-year-old Jessica Loren Krieger and 30-year-old
Curtis Michael Riley were placed under arrest. They
identified the driver as Heath Loren June, 34.
While searching the vehicle, an officer found multiple unopened items from Dollar General and Hobby
Lobby. He also found a brown sticky substance and
a white crystalline substance that he believed to be
methamphetamine.
The fourth occupant initially lied about her identity,
but she identified herself as 31-year-old Morgan Dalynn Crose. She told officers she had warrants.
When officers located June, they found two glass
pipes on his person.
Krieger is being charged with obstructing an officer
and larceny of merchandise from a retailer.
Riley is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstructing an officer,
and larceny of merchandise from a retailer.
Their bonds were set at $10,000, and they are
scheduled to appear in court on October 13, 2022.
Crose is being charged with obstructing an officer
and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Her bond was set at $10,000, and she is scheduled to
appear in court on October 11, 2022.
June is being charged with endangering others while
eluding/attempting to elude a police officer, unauthorized use of a vehicle, obstructing an officer, unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, and larceny of merchandise from a retailer. He
was scheduled to appear in court on October 6, 2022.

is a registered sex offender and that address is
not an approved area for sex offenders to reside.
Rickerson was located at a nearby convenience
store and taken into custody for questioning.
During an interview, Rickerson admitted to staying at the South Van Buren address in violation of
the Sex Offender Registration Act.

FOR HER OWN GOOD
A 33-year-old from Wichita, Kansas, is being charged with child endangerment after
she allegedly drove with her child in the car
while under the influence on September 24.
According to reports, the mother of Destiny Dwaine Sanders reported to police around
7:45 p.m. that her daughter was possibly intoxicated with her child in the car. Alva officers located the vehicle passing Olive Street,
traveling 53 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The officer made contact with the driver,
identified as Sanders, and noticed the odor
of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. He
also saw the woman’s 3-year-old daughter in
the backseat. He told Sanders to exit the vehicle multiple times before she eventually obeyed.
Sanders, at first, said she hadn’t been drinking. She then told the officer she
had one mixed drink 30 minutes earlier. She agreed to a standardized field
test, but she was arrested after she had trouble completing it.
The child was released to Sanders’ mother.
Officers spoke to the Sanders’ mother the next day. She said Sanders traveled from Wichita to stay with her. She found her daughter crying outside
with a bottle of whiskey. She then kicked the apartment door in, grabbed her
daughter, and jumped in the car. She sped out of the parking lot, cutting off
another car.
Sanders is being charged with child endangerment by driving under the
influence. She is scheduled to appear in court on October 11, 2022. Bond
information was unavailable at the time of publication.

WOODWARD MAN FACING
MURDER CHARGES
A 23-year-old Woodward man is being charged with first-degree murder after he
allegedly killed a man before setting a house on fire on August 15.
According to reports, the fire department was dispatched to a residence near 13th
and Oak to battle a house fire. As they worked to extinguish the flames engulfing the
home, they found the body of a 63-year-old man. They had been at the property for
about two hours at that point.
During the investigation, it was determined that the man did not die in the house fire.
Investigators discovered that his body showed signs of blunt force trauma to his head
and torso. He had also been stabbed multiple times.
While inspecting the charred home, the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the house fire was no accident. It was evident that someone had set the
home on fire, probably trying to cover up the murder of the victim.
A witness told police that 23-year-old Vincent Michael Villa and his brother had argued on the night of August 14 or the early morning hours of August 15. The brother
was transported to a hospital for his injuries.
Early on August 15, the victim and Villa, along with several people, entered the
abandoned house. Between 5 and 5:30 a.m., everyone left the house except for Villa
and the victim.
Agents served a search warrant on Villa on August 16. He had multiple scratches
and cuts on his hands and arms. He was arrested on August 18 for assaulting his
brother with a tire iron, just a few hours before he and the victim were left alone.
Villa is being charged with murder in the first degree with malice aforethought. He is
being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2022.

FORENSIC GENETIC GENEALOGY HELPS
IDENTIFY WOMAN WITH STARBURST TATTOO
On August 31, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) announced
that a woman found partially
buried on August 31, 2008
near Lake Thunderbird is
identified as Angela Mason.
Mason, who was 25 at the
time, was found partially
decomposed in a shallow
grave at 120th and Alameda. She was discovered
by several fishermen, and
a Park Ranger requested
OSBI assistance with the investigation.
“It is a great day when we can give a victim their name back,” said Aungela
Spurlock, OSBI Director. “Utilizing Forensic Genetic Genealogy is an investment
and is unfortunately not possible to use on every cold case. But for Angela, the
investment paid off. Now our team will continue to work to get Angela the justice
she deserves.”
In August 2021, having exhausted all investigative leads, retiring Director Ricky
Adams approved the case for genetic genealogy testing. Criminalists from the
OSBI Forensic Science Center sent DNA from Mason’s remains to Parabon Nanolabs in an effort to locate relatives. Parabon returned results in March of 2022
identifying a possible relative. Special Agents contacted the relative and asked for
a DNA sample to compare to the victim. The results came back positively identifying Anglea Mason as the deceased. With this critical information, OSBI agents
and analysts have intensified their investigative efforts to determine what happened
to Mason.
Numerous attempts had been made since Mason was found to identify her
including releasing images of her distinctive tattoo, entering her information into
the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), adding her case
to the OSBI Cold Case Cards, reaching out to other departments to review their
missing persons cases, and releasing forensic sketches. The most recent sketch
was released in May 2021 and utilized advanced composite software to generate
an image.
At the time Mason’s remains were located, the Medical Examiner believed the
remains were those of a white female, possibly with Native American heritage, who
was approximately 5’5”, between 30 and 45 years old, and had at least one child.
ME investigators believed she had been buried in the shallow grave between three
and 15 months prior to her discovery.
Mason was 5’6” and was a registered citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She attended Putnam City West High School, was married once, and had four children.
She was last seen in Moore, Oklahoma in the spring of 2008.
Special Agents from the OSBI are investigating her death as a homicide. Agents
returned to the location where Mason was found in June 2022 to reprocess the
scene. At that time, they located and collected additional evidence.
If you knew Angela Marie (Richards) Mason or have any information on her
death, please contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or email [email protected]. You
can remain anonymous.

AROUND THE COUNTRY
Authorities said the 5-year-old child of a second
suspect drew on police with a loaded shotgun as
his mother was being taken into custody.
A would-be robber pretending to be a stranded
motorist killed a Florida college student who had
pulled his own weapon in self-defense during a
gunfight in Alabama, authorities said.
Adam Simjee, 22, and his girlfriend, Mikayla Paulus — both students at the University of Central
Florida — were driving through Talladega National Forest near Cheaha State Park when they were
flagged down Sunday by suspect Yasmine Hider,
the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Hider said her car had broken down and when
the victims offered their help, she “produced a gun
and made the couple walk back into the woods,”
according to the sheriff.
Simjee then pulled his concealed handgun and
wounded Hider “multiple times” before he too was
shot and then died at the scene, the sheriff said.
Paulus, who was not wounded in the shootout,
called 911 and told authorities there was another
woman with Hider. Searchers eventually found the
suspects’ camp about a half-mile away, where they
had been “living off the grid,” according to the sheriff’s statement.
That’s where police officers and deputies found
second suspect Krystal Diane Pinkins and her young child.
“As officers were ordering the female to the ground a 5-year-old child ran
from the woods holding a loaded shotgun,” the sheriff said. “Law enforcement told the child to put the shotgun down however the child continued to
the female’s location before laying the gun on the ground.”

AROUND THE STATE
A multi-agency investigation has resulted in one of the largest methamphetamine seizures in state history. Mark Woodward, Spokesman for
the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, says an investigation began in July
targeting a drug trafficking organization moving large quantities of meth
from Mexico into central and southern Oklahoma.
“The investigation led to Search Warrants being served this week at several locations where shipments of meth were being stored upon arrival in
Oklahoma.” ---Mark Woodward, OBN Spokesman
Woodward says the Search Warrants resulted in the seizure of 589
pounds of meth with a street value of nearly $3 million. Woodward says
this is one of the largest meth seizures in state history. Additionally, four
firearms were seized, and five individuals have been arrested. Woodward
says more arrests are expected as this investigation remains ongoing.
“The significance of this seizure cannot be overstated as meth continues
to kill more Oklahomans than any other drug. This seizure of nearly 270
kilos of meth no doubt saved countless lives throughout our state.” ---
OBN Director Donnie Anderson
Agencies assisting in the investigation include the Oklahoma Bureau of
Narcotics, the Ardmore Police Department, the US Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
