If you’re gonna steal a car,
you should probably make
sure everything works so you
don’t get arrested!
Norman man Bradley
Wade Deaver, 19, was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle in Lindsay after an officer
noticed one of the car’s tail
lights wasn’t working.
According to the police report, a Lindsay officer was
traveling west at approximately 11:42 p.m on Lizzie
Ann when he passed the car
Deaver was driving. Noticing
that the passenger side tail
light was busted, the officer
turned around and followed the vehicle, traveling north on
NW Fourth.
The suspect car turned west onto Lizzie Ann, and the officer turned on his lights in an attempt to stop the car. The
vehicle came to a stop in the driveway of a residence in the
900 block of Lizzie Ann.
When the officer approached Deaver, the man seemed to
be very nervous and he didn’t have a driver’s license on him.
While checking the man’s info, the officer was advised the car
Deaver was driving was stolen out of Norman.
The officer placed Deaver under arrest and asked if he
knew anyone at the residence he stopped at. Deaver said no.
When they arrived at the jail, the officer found the man’s
license in his wallet. Dispatch also advised Deaver had an
outstanding warrant with the Purcell Police Department.
Deaver is being charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
His bond was set at $2,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on May 20, 2016.

Horrific Crimes that
Changed America
adam walsh & cody adam
When crimes happen in particular
locations, specific emergency response
systems can be especially helpful. And
this is precisely what led to the development of the Code Adam Program. On
July 27, 1981, 6-year-old Adam Walsh
was abducted from a Sears department
store in Florida. His decapitated head
was found 16 days later. Named in his
honor, the Code Adam Program helps
ensure that children are recovered safely
and quickly if they are lost in stores by having employees announce
“Code Adam” warnings along with the child’s description over their
intercom systems to alert patrons to be on the lookout for lost children. First implemented by Wal-Mart in the 1990s, today, hundreds of retail chains participate in the Code Adam Program and
as of 2003, “The Code Adam Act” requires that all federal facilities
participate. Adam’s father, John Walsh, who helped pass these laws,
continues to be an outspoken advocate for missing children.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Trooper Kenny Knight #440, Trooper Danny Upton #623
On Nov. 13, 2015, Troop C Headquarters dispatched Troopers Kenny Knight and Danny Upton to
an injury collision on the Muskogee Turnpike. This
was a one-vehicle crash where the driver had apparently fallen asleep and crashed into the concrete barrier wall. The driver was pinned and had sustained
serious, life-threatening injuries.
Troopers Knight and Upton arrived on scene within one minute, recognized the seriousness of the
situation, and immediately began emergency trauma
treatment, while calling for medical personnel. The
driver had severed one leg below the knee and was
losing a substantial amount of blood.
Trooper Knight retrieved a tourniquet but could
not apply it due to the damaged vehicle and the debris. Troopers Knight and Upton both crawled into
the vehicle and were able to keep the victim calm and
conscious. They had to use bolt cutters and a knife to
cut through debris and wiring, with Trooper Knight operating the cutters while
Trooper Upton gave verbal directions. In the same manner, while Trooper Knight
was blindly reaching into the crushed vehicle to apply the tourniquet, Trooper
Upton was giving directions.
The tourniquet was successfully applied and the victim was transported by helicopter to a hospital. Air Evac medic Robert Blankenship later notified OHP the
Troopers’ “proactive measure…without a doubt gave the [the victim] those few
valuable minutes he needed to survive.” Muskogee EMS Medic Chris Turner also
notified OHP that an unknown Trooper had save this victim’s life by applying the
tourniquet, and that all OHP personnel should be commended for their actions.
Without the assistance of power tools or any equipment other than protective
gloves, a tourniquet and borrowed hand tools, they entered a crushed vehicle and
cooperatively provided aid that saved a man’s life.
For their quick, proactive decisions and their inventive method of taking care
of this victim, we honor Trooper Kenny Knight and Trooper Danny Upton with
the Trooper of the Year Award for Humanitarianism.

Ghaemmaghami
A Tishamingo man faces even more time in the
slammer after he tried to escape once again from
the custody of police after a judge had just ordered a pre-sentence investigation in another Love
County case.
Terry Ghaemmaghami, 48, added two counts of
running a roadblock, three counts of assault with
a dangerous weapon, two counts of endangering
others while eluding/attempting to elude police officer, and one count of escape from arrest or detention to his rap sheet in Love County District Court.
According to reports, the court clerk learned
that Ghaemmaghami was wanted on a warrant
in Marshall County. When Ghaemmaghami realized he was going to jail there, he dashed out of
the courtroom and jumped in his car outside the
courthouse.
And the chase began with his poor, unsuspecting wife in tow.
Ghaemmaghami led officers through Marietta and down several state highways,
running roadblocks. The car chase ended after his tires failed, but he then took off
on foot. He was quickly overcome by officers and returned to jail.
Ghaemmaghami’s wife was not hurt nor was arrested.
Ghaemmaghami has been charged in a slew of crimes just in the past five years
in at least four Oklahoma counties.
Not a very good escape artist

A Madill man was taken into custody after he
allegedly tried to burn down a unoccupied house
across the street from his.
Timothy Knight, 56, was charged with two
counts of felony arson, second degree, in Marshall County District Court.
According to court records, Knight allegedly
set a neighboring house on fire on March 31st
and again on April 7th. Reports state that authorities got a call around 9:30 p.m. on April 7
that Knight’s neighbor saw Knight set the home
on fire that day. He held Knight at the scene until
police arrived.
Knight pled not guilty at his initial appearance;
bond was set at $75,000.
Knight’s preliminary appearance is scheduled
for May 5 at 3:15 p.m. Second degree arson is
punishable by up to 25 years in prison or up to
$20,000 in fines, or both, on each count.
Not so neighborly neighbor

Due to glitches with the Marshall County booking
system, we were unable to obtain charges in a manner that we could ensure accuracy. We appologize
for any inconvenience this causes and will do our
best to obtain the information in the future.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Ashleigh D: The U.S. Has more prisons and locks up more people than
any other nation. It has become a system fueled on profit, housing non violent
offenders like cattle. Maybe if more money went into other things like schools it
would be different here. Who knows.
Chris R: I am personally for releasing non-violent offenders before cutting
education. Cuts in education only increase the likelihood of increased prison populations in the future.
Winnie B: Build tent cities, issue extra blankets in the winter, feed them
baloney or cheese sandwiches, their tv viewing can be on the dining hall tent, post
8 guards w/orders to shoot any that cross the fence. Make prison time again mean
hard time.
Mike R: How about just open up death row in Oklahoma get rid of all the bad
ones and the ones that have messed with kids
Phil M: How about we reduce the POLITICIAN’s pay? If they can live on
$200,000 then they can surely live on $150,000 . . .across the board reductions,
the rich scumbag politicians, FIRST!
Rae L-M: I agree, let the prisoners farm, no more cable, a bowl of cereal for
breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, hot meal for supper, and no desserts.
Christi C: How about they farm their own food in jail. No garden no eat.
That will save some money
Michelle W-F: i agree... let out the non violent offenders, start a farming
and gardening ... and stop coffee, tea, desserts and such from the budget
Shauna J: I agree with Christi and nominate (MF) herself to do the same!
Darrell K: This is why homeschooling is a growth industry. If you have any information on the whereabouts of these
individuals, please contact your local sheriffs department

According to our interpretation of this article, it looks as if our prison system
will not undergo any budget cuts this year, but our schools still face budget cuts.
What do you think? What do you think about releasing non-violent offenders to
save money?
Agreement reached on tapping fund for
Oklahoma schools, prisons
Gov. Mary Fallin and legislative
leaders announced
in March an agreement on a plan to
withdraw nearly
$79 million from
the state’s Rainy
Day Fund to offset budget cuts to
schools and prisons.
Common Education will get $51
million, and $27.58
million will go to the Department of Corrections.
“I think all of us can agree that draconian cuts to education and the Oklahoma
Department of Corrections are unacceptable and something we are not going to allow happen in the state of Oklahoma,” Fallin said.
She announced the agreement in a news conference attended by key legislators
who said the approval process will begin quickly on bills to tap the state fund, which
was established to help with budget problems during times of economic distress.
“We don’t take this lightly, knowing full well that next year could be worse,” said
Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman. “It’s raining, and that’s what rainy day
funds are for.”
State revenues are in decline amid an oil bust and after a decade of income tax
reductions and increasing tax breaks for business.
The state is not taking in enough revenue to cover expenses, which has forced it
to make two rounds of cuts to agency allocations.
The first 3 percent cut was ordered in December, and a 4 percent cut was announced in March. Those cuts equate to $27.58 million for Corrections and $109.2
million for Common Education.
State schools Superintendent Joy Hofmeister said the money from the Rainy Day
Fund is sorely needed.

STOLEN PROPERTY
Purcell mom and daughter, Pamela Lee Phillips,
49, and 28-year-old Sheila Lenora Jones, were arrested April 1 after they tried to steal a bra and a
purse from Walmart.
Jones also tried to use her sister’s name when
she was arrested because she had a warrant for her
arrest.
According to the affidavit, a Purcell officer was
dispatched to the store in the 2000 block of S.
Green Avenue at approximately 9:59 p.m. to investigate the larceny. Dispatch advised two women
were running from an employee.
When the officer arrived, he found the women
and employee standing by a truck. The employee
said he saw the women leave the store with unpaid
merchandise. He pointed to the bed of the truck,
which contained a blue purse with a pack of lighters and hot dogs sticking out of it, and a white bra.
One of the women identified herself as Phillips
and handed over an ID. The other woman, later
identified as Jones, gave the officer a name and
said she didn’t have any identification.
The duo said they didn’t steal anything. Jones
said she had a receipt for the items, but the items
on the receipt didn’t match the stuff in the truck
bed.
Police viewed the security footage, which showed
Phillips walking out of the store with a bra, and
Jones walking out with a purse.
The officer told both women they were under arrest.
Jones tried to take the blame stating, “I’m sorry,
sir. I took the bra and purse. My mother didn’t take anything. Please don’t take
her to jail.”
The officer informed her surveillance footage showed otherwise, and they were
both going to jail.
Once both women were secured in the patrol car, Jones admitted she told the
officer the wrong name. She said, “I gave you my sister’s name…I didn’t want to
go to jail because I have warrants for my arrest, but I need to go to a funeral tomorrow.
Phillips is being charged with larceny of merchandise from retailer. She was
released on a personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
April 28, 2016.
Jones is being charged with falsely personate another to create liability and larceny of merchandise from retailer. Her bond was set at $2,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on April 20, 2016.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless
