TUMBLING
TUMBLEWEED
On Sunday, May 7, at around 3 pm, Pauls Valley
Police Officers responded to the Pauls Valley High
School gymnasium in reference to a man harassing
people in the stands as they watched a tumbling
competition.
Officers arrived and made contact with Caleb
Meave. Meave exhibited signs consistent with someone under the influence of drugs.
Officers informed Meave that he was under arrest and an altercation ensued. Meave
kicked, struck, and clawed officers as he was taken into custody. Two officers received
minor injuries, one of which was later treated and released from the emergency room
at Valley Community Hospital.
Officers learned that Meave had been talking to young children. One child’s family
intervened and Meave moved to another location in the gym where he spoke to a
6-year-old boy before picking the child up and starting to walk away. The child’s parent and others intervened and retrieved the child from Meave. Meave’s intentions with
the child are not known at this time.
Meave is currently in the Garvin County Jail where he faces charges of Kidnapping
and Battery/Assault & Battery on Police Officers. Meave is being held on a $100,000
bond based on this incident. He also has other pending cases in the Garvin County
District Court as well.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

THAT ESCALATED
QUICKLY
Two men were taken into custody after a argument escalated into shots being fired.
On Saturday, May 20, at approx. 7:38pm Pauls
Valley Police Officers responded to a call of gunshots being fired in the area of S. Paul Ave. and
South St.
Officers made contact with Wesley Peters on
the side of South Street. Peters claimed to have
run out of gas earlier and was putting gas in
his vehicle when another vehicle, driven by Carl
Thomas, pulled up and words were exchanged.
Thomas was said to have pulled away and then
drove back past Peters, opening fire from his vehicle before fleeing the area.
Peters’ vehicle had a bullet hole in the rear driver’s side door as well as one of the vehicles tires.
Multiple spent casings were collected from the
roadway.
Peters was taken into custody based on an outstanding felony arrest warrant.
A search warrant was later executed at the residence of Carl Thomas. Multiple
firearms were seized pursuant to the warrant including one believed to have
been used to shoot at Peters.
Thomas was arrested, interviewed, and transported to the Garvin County Jail
where he remains on charges of Shooting with Intent to Kill and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Thomas is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.

FAU TO THE RESCUE
Shortly after 2pm on May 10, the Love’s County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a $100,000
felony first degree rape warrant was issued out
of Carter County for Dustin Brewer.
Through some investigative techniques by
members of our Fugitive Apprehension Unit, we were able to track Brewer
down, and shortly before 4 pm, members of the FAU arrested Brewer without
incident.
Brewer was transported to Carter County where he will be booked in for
the Felony warrant.
All arrestees are consider innocent until proven guilty in court.
Great work to the FAU. I applaud them for their continued commitment to
keeping the citizens of Love County safe.

ARDMORE WOMAN
CHARGED WITH
INFANT'S DEATH
A 27-year-old Ardmore mother is being
charged with second-degree murder after her
6-month-old died in her home last August.
According to reports, Victoria Michelle Holland left five children home alone last summer.
The children’s ages ranged from six months to five years old.
While Holland was already facing child neglect charges in the case, investigators were waiting for autopsy results from the infant’s death to charge her
further.
The medical examiner determined that the baby died from asphyxiation.
She suffocated from a dog lying on her.
Holland is now also facing a second-degree murder charge.
Holland has an outstanding warrant for six counts of child neglect. Her
bond was set at $10,000. She was scheduled to appear in court on May 18,
2023.
Formal charges, court date, and bond information for the infant’s death
were unavailable at the time of publication.

SEARCH WARRANT
RESULTS IN THE
ARREST OF 14
A search warrant conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies on May 24 resulted in the arrest
of 14 suspects.
According to a press release by Sheriff Donald
Yow, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, along with
Marshall County Emergency Management, Marshall
County Ambulance Services, Chickasaw Nation Light Horse Police, and the Madill
Police Department served a search warrant in Oakland on Third Street.
The search warrant was due to illegal marijuana grows after deputies received a
phone call tipping them off. During the search, deputies located 150-200 pounds of
finished marijuana and approximately $50,000 in cash.
They also recovered three vehicles, a Bobcat, and a trailer from the property.
During the search warrant, deputies arrested 14 suspects who did not speak English.
Yow said they will be charged with trafficking in marijuana.
The suspects’ names and formal charges were unavailable at the time of publication.
“I would ask our citizens that if you see something suspicious to please report it,”
said Yow. “Something that may not be suspicious to us could be to you and that one
lead could help us tremendously. You can remain anonymous.”

INTERNET
SAFETY MONTH
Computer interconnectivity has produced enormous benefits, but has also
enabled criminal activity that exploits
this interconnectivity for financial gain
and other malicious purposes, such
as internet fraud, child exploitation,
identity theft, and terrorism. The Internet can give identity thieves, hackers, and
scammers online access to your computer, financial and personal information
and more. Additionally, today’s mobile devices are well integrated with the internet and have far more functionality than mobile phones of the past. They are
increasingly used in the same way as personal computers, potentially making
them susceptible to similar threats affecting computers connected to the Internet.
For youths, the internet often serves as a positive and powerful arena for socializing and learning. However, the use of the internet also brings about risks to
their safety, including the dangers of sexual solicitation, online harassment and
bullying, and exposure to illegal content. By discussing responsible socializing
and communicating, parents -- regardless of whether they are technologically
savvy -- can help their kids make better decisions about online behavior.
Efforts to address cybercrime include activities associated with protecting
networks and information, detecting criminal activity, investigating crime, and
prosecuting criminals, . The Administration has taken significant steps to better protect America against cyber threats and has developed a pragmatic and
focused cyber-security legislative proposal for Congress to consider. The proposed legislation is focused on improving cyber-security for the American people, our Nation’s critical infrastructure, and the Federal Government’s own networks and computers.

AROUND THE STATE
I WANNA ROCK!
Two suspects arrested after claiming they inherited the guitar.
On May 9, we received a report about a burglary from a car where a guitar, amp, and other
sound equipment were stolen from a vehicle near
81st and Yale in Tulsa.
On May 10 around 6:00 p.m., Officers were
called out to a guitar store near 71st and Mingo.
The store reported that two men, identified as
Scott Hill and Matthew Prior, brought the stolen
equipment to the store and tried to sell them.
The store employees recognized the equipment
from social media posts. Employees also said the
two suspects appeared to have little to no knowledge about the items they were selling or their value. The employees at the store were dialed into
the local music world and immediately recognized the stolen equipment from a
social media post. It was also apparent that the two suspects weren’t musicians
and had no idea of the value of the equipment nor what it was they were actually
trying to sell.
The two suspects told employees they inherited the guitar and equipment.
They later changed their story and told Officers they received the property from
someone else in exchange for a debt being paid.
The victim was contacted and his equipment was returned. The recovered
property has a total value of around $3200.
Scott Hill and Matthew Prior were both arrested for Knowingly Concealing
Stolen Property. The burglary from vehicle is still under investigation.

A Elk City woman was charged with arson after lighting up motel last month.
Elk City woman Fallon Tia Borzea, 40, allegedly set the Kings Inn motel on fire April 21.
According to reports, she was caught on
film at the scene of the crime earlier that morning. The surveillance footage
showed her walking from a room at the motel shortly before 1:30 a.m.
She then walked to some dumpsters close to Third Street. Shortly after, a
fire was caught on film as she walked away from the area and headed toward
the motel’s laundry room.
After a visit to the laundry room, Borzea went back to her room. There was
smoke coming from the laundry room.
When officers arrested the woman later that afternoon at her home in the
900 block of West Second Street, she admitted that she had burned some
papers in the dumpster.
Borzea is being charged with arson in the first degree. Her bond was set at
$100,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on July 10, 2023.

TUMBLING
