An abducted 6-year-old child from Wichita was
located in Kay County on November 20.
According to reports, the child was found near
Tonkawa approximately 90 minutes after the kidnapping occurred. Wichita officers responded to
a call at 6:50 p.m. to investigate reports of a stolen vehicle with a 6-year-old girl inside. Using a
license plate reader and other technology, officers
discovered the stolen car was traveling south on
I-35 toward the Kansas-Oklahoma border.
At 7:41 p.m., Wichita officers contacted the Kay
County Sheriff’s Department regarding the alleged
kidnapping.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers found the
stolen vehicle at a gas station near mile marker 215 on I-35.
The child was unharmed.
34-year-old Benjamin Kenneth Brady was arrested for the abduction.
Brady is being charged with kidnapping and unauthorized use of a motor
vehicle after the former conviction of two or more felonies. His bond was
set at $250,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 2,
2022.

Gotta catch ‘em all!
For the past several months, the Tulsa
Police Department has been investigating a
fraudulent Pokémon Card Scam.
Detectives were contacted by five victims
across the United States. Victims in Hawaii,
Arizona, Texas, Colorado and Ohio all reported buying rare and high value Pokémon
cards from the suspect in Tulsa, identified as
Michael McCoy.
Each victim purchased the cards for thousands of dollars only to find out the cards
they received were fake.
During the investigation, Detectives partnered with a special prosecutor with the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office
who specializes in intellectual property and trademark infringement. Through
collaborations with Nintendo Corporation, a representative determined that
the Pokémon cards were in fact counterfeit. The cards that were sold by the
suspect had little to no value on their own, however were being sold as “rare
collectors cards” for $350 per card.
On November 1, Officers arrested Michael McCoy at a local Post Office as
he was in the process of mailing more counterfeit cards to another potential
victim.
McCoy is now charged with:
- Obtaining Merchandise by False Pretense over $1000 x 5
- Violation of Trademark Anti-Counterfeiting Act
McCoy also had warrants for his arrest out of Arkansas.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.

Graham Price of South Wales ripped off the bank where he worked, but he wasn’t
completely duplicitous. He left a note in the safe: “Borrowed, seven million pounds”—
signed “Graham Price.”
A Good Samaritan noticed an elderly man being robbed, so he jumped in and
punched the thief. The thief was so upset, he called the police to complain.
When Stephan Crane broke into the Ravelli Republic (Montana) newsroom, he used
the computers to watch porn and check Facebook. Then Crane doused the offi ce with
a fi re extinguisher, took some candy, and left. It wasn’t diffi cult to fi nd him, however; the
police just followed the trail of stolen M&Ms that led to his sister’s place across the way.
When police in Vancouver, Canada, asked to search Jason Pauchay’s apartment
for drugs, he was not a suspect—in fact, they were looking for someone else. That all
changed when they got a look at how his name was listed on his cell phone: “Jason
Pauchay Drug Dealer.”
Two men decided a back-to-school event at an offi ce supply store would be the perfect time to do some shoplifting. After all, store clerks would be busy helping an infl ux of
shoppers. The sale happened to coincide with the annual “Shop with a Cop” day when
about 60 police offi cers show up to help children pick out school supplies.
Adan Juarez Ramirez had it all fi gured out—he could be a cop without having to take
the boring test. But he was arrested in Grapevine, Texas, after pulling over a driver in his
pickup truck, outfi tted with fl ashing lights. He even had an ID badge, which he’d made
by blacking out a restaurant gift card and etching in the word “POLICE.” However,
he’d kept the restaurant’s logo, a jalapeño pepper surrounded by the words “Chipotle
Mexican Grill.”
A Target store in Augusta, Georgia, agreed to take back a printer from a dissatisfi ed
customer. Then the clerk noticed some work the customer forgot to remove from the
machine: Counterfeit bills.
Two machete-wielding men barged into a Sydney, Australia, bar demanding money.
They didn’t know the club was hosting a bikers’ meeting at the time. One of the robbers
ended up in the hospital, the other hog-tied with electrical wire.
In Mesa, Arizona, a home break-in was foiled when the burglar jumped through the
bedroom window—and got trapped in a clothes hamper. Cops took it from there. (That
defi nitely wasn’t the kind of clean getaway he had planned.)

DUTY CALLS
On Saturday, November 5th, Deputy Ashley Treat was working off-duty security at a
Wal-Mart in Tulsa. While there, a shooting
occurred outside the store and the armed
15-year-old suspect ran inside. Deputy Treat
chased the suspect down, “tackled him”,
and took him into custody. The suspect had
a loaded Glock pistol with an extended magazine on his person when he was apprehended.
The suspect continued to fight with Deputy
Treat after being placed into handcuffs. Since
Deputy Treat did not have her patrol car to
secure the suspect, Deputy Treat had to hold
the suspect down on a bench until Tulsa Police arrived.
TPD arrived on scene and it was discovered the suspect had shot at least
twice at a vehicle before running inside Wal-Mart.
Because of Deputy Treat’s actions she saved lives, kept shoppers and citizens safe, and took the suspect into custody safely. We are extremely proud
of her actions and quick response. She may have been off-duty and working
a part-time. But, she is still a law enforcement officer and did what she was
trained to do. Protect and save lives! Deputy Treat has been a full-time deputy
since January of this year and graduated the academy in July. Deputy Treat
served as jail administrator for a short time before moving to patrol.
Thank you to the Tulsa Police Department for their quick response.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty WASHINGTON COUNTY 15 | DECEMBER 2022
Two Bartlesville residents allegedly stole stuff from
Walmart in October by switching tags on items before
paying.
According to reports, Tommy Walker Jr., 58, and
40-year-old Lisa Kay Wilson went to Walmart and
switched tags on merchandise to purchase the items at
cheaper prices.
They were stopped by asset protection.
During the investigation, officials discovered Walker
had stolen nearly $140 worth of merchandise. Wilson
had price tags in her pocket that belonged to items in a
shopping cart.
Both Walker and Wilson admitted to removing tags
from the items before purchasing them at a reduced
price.
Wilson is being charged with a pattern of criminal offenses. A warrant was issued for her arrest on October
14, 2022.
Walker is being charged with a pattern of criminal offenses. His bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on December 2, 2022.

DECEMBER IS DRUNK DRIVNG
PREVENTION MONTH
Despite the fact that it’s illegal to drive drunk, one person was killed every 45 minutes in a drunk driving crash on our nation’s roads in 2020. That’s a total of 11,654
people who died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in one year. Even a small amount
of alcohol can affect driving ability. In 2020, there were 2,041 people killed in alcohol-related crashes where a driver had a BAC of .01 to .07.
Be Responsible: Have a Plan
Your life and the lives of others on the road are at risk every time a driver gets behind
the wheel after drinking. Here are a few tips to stay safe.
• Before drinking, choose a designated driver, or schedule a ride-sharing, ride-hailing or taxi service.
• If you are hosting a party where there’s alcohol, offer non-alcoholic drink options
and make sure all guests leave with a sober driver.
• Always wear your seat belt — it’s the best defense against drunk drivers.
• If you see a drunk driver on the road, safely pull over and call law enforcement.
The Cost of Drinking and Driving
Drunk drivers face jail time when they’re caught, and the financial impact is devastating. On average, a DUI can set you back $10,000 in attorney’s fees, fines, court
costs, lost time at work, higher insurance rates, car towing, and more. And, drinking
and driving can result in losing your driver’s license and your car — imagine trying to
explain that to your friends, family and boss.
The Effects of Blood Alcohol Concentration
Alcohol consumption impairs your thinking, reasoning and muscle coordination —
all vital to operating a vehicle safely. You begin to feel the effects of alcohol at a BAC
under .08.
