Correction
In the January 2015 edition of the Kay County OK Jailbirds, Travis Lester’s name and
mugshot were mistakenly published with an incorrect charge. David Little should have been
the correct name and mugshot with the charge. Travis Lester was only being transferred to a
new facility and has NOT been charged with a new crime.
The staff at OK Jailbirds deeply regrets and sincerely apologizes for any embarrassment or
other difficulties this mistake may have caused.

OMITTING TO PROVIDE FOR
CHILD
After a Ponca City man was arrested for obstruction
on January 5, but he continued to rack up the charges by
threatening, fighting with, and spitting on a police officer.
According to the affidavit, a Ponca City officer saw Adam
Troy Dickinson, 34, crossing a railway in the 100 block of S.
Union Street shortly after 5 p.m. Since pedestrians weren’t
permitted to be in that area, the officer stopped Dickinson
and asked to see his ID.
Dickinson told him he didn’t have one. The officer then
asked him what his name was. Dickinson told him a name
and gave the officer a birthdate that would have made him
67 years old. The officer told Dickinson he knew he wasn’t
over 60 years old. He asked the man again for his birthdate.
The man said he was just nervous, and he gave the officer
another date, this time making him 27.
The officer searched the man for weapons and while doing so, he felt a wallet in his left back pocket. The officer
asked if he could look for an ID. Dickinson shrugged his shoulders and said OK. Dickinson’s
ID didn’t match the name or birth date he had given the officer. The officer told him he was
under arrest.
As the officer placed handcuffs on Dickinson, the man said, “F--- you, a------. You don’t
have to be so rough.”
He then started fighting with the officer.
During the struggle, Dickinson said some threatening and derogatory things to the officer
about him and his family, but the officer was eventually able to get some control over the
unruly man.
When he put him in a wrist lock, the officer found a wooden pinch hitter in the man’s
pocket that smelled like marijuana.
Dickinson continued to struggle and yell at the officer. He also kept spitting at the officer.
The officer told him to stop, and Dickinson replied, “F--- you. I can spit where I want to.”
More officers arrived to assist, and Dickinson was taken to jail and locked up.
Dickinson is being charged with assault and battery on a police officer, prisoner attempting
to place body fluid on government employee, obstructing an officer and unlawful possession
of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $20,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on February 13, 2015.

Dewey man John Fredrick M. Haggerty, 49, was taken to jail January 2 after a
man found him sitting in his vehicle. His
defense? It’s not burglary if the vehicle’s
unlocked!
According to the affidavit, a Bartlesville
officer was dispatched to the 500 block
of NE Washington because a man was
“burglarizing a vehicle in the parking lot.”
When the officer arrived on scene, Haggerty approached him and told him there
was an elderly man “trapped in that truck”
as he pointed at a nearby vehicle.
The officer walked to the truck, but there was no one inside.
Haggerty kept telling the officer a story that didn’t make any sense
or explain why the man was in the parking lot.
The officer met with the victim, who had just gotten off of work.
He told the officer he found Haggerty sitting in the passenger seat
of his truck. He said he told Haggerty to get out of the vehicle before
calling police.
The victim also said Haggerty had taken some children’s clothing
from the truck and put it in a clear plastic bag. He said Haggerty hid
the bag in some grass near the truck when the officer arrived.
The officer located the bag. Inside was a children’s shirt and a pair
of overalls. The victim said the items belonged to his daughter.
The officer approached Haggerty and placed him under arrest.
Haggerty told the officer he thought the clothing belonged to his
niece, so he put them in his bag. When the officer told him he was
under arrest for burglary, the man responded, “How can it be burglary if the truck was unlocked?” The officer explained it was burglary because the truck didn’t belong to him.
The burglarizing man is being charged with burglary in the second
degree. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 6, 2015.
Locked or unlocked,
it’s still burglary

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Marie M: If more were like her there
would be less cheating
Nathan H: women cheat too. Js
Aaron S: So it’s justified?
Michael C: Serves his ass right.
They should of given her a medal for it.
Nathan H: What if the woman
cheated and the man punched her in the
mouth? Double standards and equality ftw
right
Michael C: We ain’t talking about
if she cheated or any woman cheats. It’s
about this article.
Jennifer D: They say once a cheater always a cheater, lol not this guy
Angela R: He’s lucky she didn’t
feed it to him
Cherie M: Pretty sure she wouldn’t
have been upset and pissed off enough to
cut it off if she had been cheating herself.
You’d think she’d just say yea well I been
cheating on your ass too she can keep you.
Just my thought!
Leon D: And you wonder why he did
the first time. Woman prolly has a crazy
card.
Tammy O: Men and women not all
just to clear it up. But both genders cheat
no reason for extreme, JUST LEAVE! !!!!!
DAH
Kim T: No man is worth my sanity
or freedom...you want to cheat, there’s the
door...get to steppin! People are certifiable….geez!!
Whitney S: I’m shocked by these
comments. Women cheering it on and men
talking so filthy. Do you people not have
family on facebook? You do know they can
see comments even if they didn’t like the
page. I’m fairly certain you all wouldn’t
want your grandmothers reading what you
wrote.
Catherine O: Now he’s just nuts,
I’m sure
Paula C: Did he have a spare?
Terry W: What the hell is it about
those scissors that he don’t understand?!!
Kalyn J: She wanted to make sure
he could not ever use it again lol!
Kaylee N: I’m not even mad I’m
impressed with her
Marc N Natalie W: Crazy....
Just crazy!!!!
Jessica C: She threw it out the window and it couldn’t be found? So someone
was walking by, stops and sees it, picks it up
and takes off with it? Or did fido find a new
chew toy?
Terry N: The first time I would say
“that woman is crazy” but the second time
“its his fault for being stupid enough to go
back to her” lmao
Roger H: Now tell me how can one
cut off a penis twice?
Natalie B: She cut it off, he went
to hospital to get it sewn back on and she
got into the hospital and cut it off again and
threw it out the window!! They couldn’t find
it!
Roger H: She should go to jail just
saying
Dessa M: If he would of kept it in
his Pants and not out screwing around on
her it wouldnt of happened.. I would of
done the same damn thing..
Authorities say a woman in China got angry
after finding out he was having an affair, so
she chopped off his penis twice.
According to the New York Post, the man,
32, used his wife’s cell phone to send his mistress a steamy love note.
He failed to log out of his account and his
wife found the message later.
The New York Post reports that the woman
snapped, grabbed a pair of scissors, then cut
the man’s penis off while he slept.
The man was taken to the hospital and doctors successfully reattached his penis.
However, the man’s wife somehow managed to get into his hospital room and
hacked his penis for a second time, then tossed the appendage out the window.
Authorities conducted a thorough search but were unable to find the man’s
missing penis.
The man’s wife was arrested.

Each year, nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner. At a rate far higher
than other forms of youth violence, teen dating violence impacts 1
in 3 adolescents in the United States through physical, sexual, emotional and verbal abuse.
Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month is a national effort to raise
awareness about dating violence, promote programs that support
young people, and encourage communities to prevent this form of
abuse with the goal of decreasing the prevalence of dating violence
among young people.
If you or someone you know who is in an abusive dating relationship, free and confidential help is available 24 hours a day through
the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline, 7 days a week at 866-331-
9474, or TTY 1-866-331-8453. The Helpline also has peer advocates
available via live chat from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard
Time).
Confidential help is also available through the National Domestic
Violence Hotline. If you need help or know someone who may need
someone to talk to, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

Two Pawhuska men were arrested
January 7 when police caught them with
some not-so-legal items. One of the men
had been a witness to a crime, and the
other was giving him a ride in exchange
for weed.
According to the affidavit, a shooting had occurred earlier in the evening,
and police were looking for a witness to
the shooting. The witness, 18-year-old
Elizhah D. Florence, was known to carry
firearms.
Around 1:48 a.m., police stopped a vehicle Florence was a passenger in in the
2100 block of E. Main Street. The driver
was identified as 28-year-old Bradley Allen Kinsey, a convicted felon.
Police searched the vehicle, and they
found a loaded Airsoft pellet gun, a loaded pistol, and an expandable baton, all
within reach of the driver.
Officers asked Florence if he had anything illegal on him. He said he had a
“little bit of weed” in his backpack. Police
found a large bag of marijuana and an
electronic scale in the man’s backpack.
Both men were placed under arrest.
On the way to jail, Kinsey told an officer he just wanted some weed,
so he was giving Florence a ride in exchange for marijuana.
Florence is being charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm during commission of a
felony. His bond was set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to appear
in court on March 12, 2015.
Kinsey is being charged with possession of a firearm after former
conviction of a felony. His bond was set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 12, 2015.

Registered Sex Offenders for The Area
FACT:
If a child does not tell anyone about
the abuse, it is because he or she
must have consented to it.
False. Children often do not tell
for a variety of reasons including the
offender’s threats to hurt or kill someone
the victim loves, as well as shame,
embarrassment, wanting to protect
the offender, feelings for the offender,
fear of being held responsible or being
punished, fear of being disbelieved, and
fear of losing the offender who may be
very important to the child or the child’s
family.

Wheatley, 31, was arrested December
31 after she ran into a neighbors’ home
and stole their chihuahua.
A Pawnee officer was dispatched to
the 300 block of Elm at approximately
2 p.m. because Wheatley had apparently taken a “small dog” from the
home, according to the affidavit. When
he arrived, the homeowner told him
Wheatley had “just walked” into his
house and started yelling, demanding
a dog back.
The officer asked if Wheatley was
invited into the home; the man said
no. He added when Wheatley came into his home, there were three
young children in the house.
The man Wheatley had done this once before.
The man then said Wheatley opened the door and walked into his
home, screaming and yelling that she wanted the dog back. He said
she then walked up the stairs, grabbed the dog and left his house in
a van.
The man explained Wheatley had given him the dog several weeks
back.
The officer contacted Wheatley, and she agreed to bring the dog
back.
When she arrived at the residence, she was placed under arrest
and taken to jail. She was given a verbal trespass warning for the
residence and was told not to return to the house.
A witness told police she had been with Wheatley when the woman took the dog from the house.
Dognapping Wheatley is being charged with burglary in the first
degree and larceny of dogs. She was released on a $10,000 bond and
is scheduled to appear in court on February 17, 2015.

Another New Year has come,
and with it, millions of people
have made resolutions to improve
some aspect of their lives. Some of these resolutions are doomed
from the start for a multitude of reasons. Even though successfully
sticking with and accomplishing a New Year’s resolution goal may
not seem to directly relate to driving safely, I’m going to try and
give some tips on increasing your ability to stick to a resolution,
and tie it in to how it could actually make you a safer driver!
Some of the more popular resolutions are to lose weight, get in
shape, or quit smoking. Each one of these are great goals. So to
achieve a goal, a person must clearly define the actual goal. For
quitting smoking, that one is pretty clearly defined as it is. For the
other, some more clarity is needed. How much weight do you want
to lose? How long are you giving yourself to get there? Once you
define these goals and time lines, write them down somewhere! Put
them somewhere that you are reminded of them each day. Make
sure your goals are reasonable, and attainable. It won’t do any
good to set goals that are unrealistic!
Next, we need to write down how exactly we plan to accomplish
our goals. For smoking, are you going cold turkey, using the patch,
or incrementally cutting down how many cigarettes you smoke a
day until you aren’t smoking at all? For losing weight, write down
your workout program, and schedule. Write down your diet goals
and track it religiously. Try to find someone who will join you in
your workouts and diet. Having someone to count on and someone
counting on you is a great support system for you in your efforts.
Last, tell as many people as you feel comfortable. Get people on
your side to support you, and hold you accountable to your goals
when you have moments of weakness! Believe in yourself! Have a
positive attitude about what you are trying to accomplish.
So how do accomplishing these goals help you be a safer
driver? Studies have shown that people who exercise and eat
right have sharper mental focus. Since a significant percentage
of accidents are caused due to inattention, improved focus will
obviously pay off while driving! Exercise will help improve handeye coordination, which is a big positive while driving! A healthy,
smoke-free body minimizes the risk of heart attack and other
medical issues that could be tragic anytime, not just behind the
wheel.
So there you have it. Successful accomplishment of some of
the most popular New Year’s resolutions will not only have you
slimmer, healthier, and happier, but can have an impact on your
ability to be a safer, courteous driver! Thanks for reading, buckle
up, and be safe!
