Paul Hartsell Jr. walked away from a Ponca City
halfway house on December 2, stealing a van during his getaway.
Hartsell, who walked away from Bridgeway Inc.
at 620 W. Grand, is described as white, 5-feet
6-inches tall, weighing about 154 pounds, green
eyes and brown hair.
Hartsell was serving multiple Oklahoma County
sentences for domestic assault and battery, and
second-degree burglary when he walked away.
He will likely face additional time for walking away
and stealing the van, which the halfway house
owned.
The van is a white 2009 Ford E350 with a tag of
IJN-414. It has a “No. 39” stickers on multiple locations on its body, as well
as dents on its passenger side door.
Anyone with information can call our escapee hotline at 866-363-1119

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty KAY COUNTY 7 | JANUARY 2019
A woman in Florida got so excited after stealing a family’s Apple technology that she decided to take some selfies of her own. She had stolen
an iPad and an iPod Touch out of their car while they were visiting one of
Florida’s regional parks. Apparently not realizing that photos taken on an
Apple device will show up on the computer, her selfies surfaced on the
family’s iCloud account two weeks later. All of these pictures are able to
be located geographically.
A middle-aged man was stopped by police as he rode his horse down
the streets of Colorado. Why? He was seen hitting the horse, but told the
police there was a fly on his head. Further investigation revealed that he
had a small gun, a pug (yes, you understood correctly), and beer cans in
tow. Not surprisingly, he failed an intoxication test and was charged with
animal cruelty, possession of weapons, and drunk riding.
Have you ever accidentally gotten high? Like, you thought it was a
normal brownie, or normal mushrooms. But nope, turns out you’re absolutely tripping. Good luck explaining that one to the police. The only
thing less convincing than that is…”accidentally” growing marijuana on
your property. This is exactly what happened to a 73 year old man, who
claims he found the seeds in a random box and decided to plant them.
Lo and behold, up grows some weed. The man showed no sign of being
a pot smoker, yet paid the $200 dollar ticket without argument anyway.
Hopefully he’ll stay away from mystery seeds from now on.
How impatient do you get when waiting for your food to microwave?
Worse yet is when you finally think it’s done, but the plate is a burning
fire disc from the sun’s core and your food could have been found in the
fur of a frozen wooly mammoth from the arctic. How mad would you
get? Hopefully not angry enough to use the microwave as a weapon,
like a guy in St. Louis. A 43 year old man and a 36 year old man got into
a heated argument over “personal matters”, resulting in a knife being
pulled and a microwave oven being thrown. Both were admitted to the
hospital with serious forehead wounds. I don’t remember these being
part of the Easy Mac directions???
We’ve all seen those movies about crazy people who believe demons
live in their house, right? Terrifying stuff, but the demons are probably
more scared of you than you are of them. Just…grab a big shoe. And kill
all the flies so they have nothing to eat. Oh. Maybe I’m thinking of something else, something scarier. One guy in Arizona was so freaked out he
almost burnt down the house. With his roommates still home, he started
a fire in his bedroom closet where he believed they were hiding. He used
paint thinner, and is reported to have been reciting Bible verses. He said
he had planned to tell the police but forgot, and he was admitted to the
hospital with burns on his feet. The important thing is, the house is now
100% demon free.

Two charged WITH murder In
faTal overdose
Vinita woman Shandi Elizabeth Deboard,
33, and 42-year-old Jason Herman from
Wichita, Kansas, are being charged with
murder after they allegedly gave a man meth,
resulting in his fatal overdose.
According to reports, the 22-year-old victim met Deboard and Herman at a residence
in Osage County in February 2016. While at
the home, Deboard and Herman gave the
man some methamphetamine.
The victim’s mom became concerned when
her son didn’t come home that night, so she
called his girlfriend. The girlfriend was sobbing and told the woman the victim wasn’t
breathing.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced
dead.
During the investigation, Herman admitted to giving the victim pure meth a
few hours before he passed away. Deboard allegedly told witnesses, “Oh my
God, I killed him” and “I’m to blame for [the victim’s] death.”
After the victim died, Deboard and Herman fled from Osage County. With
assistance from witnesses, officers were able to piece together how the suspects got away from the house, and where they ran to.
Deboard and Herman are being charged with murder in the first degree.
Deboard’s bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in
court on January 10, 2019.
A warrant was issued for Herman’s arrest – the man is currently behind bars
in a Kansas jail for other charges.

guns and roomies
Maybe 56-year-old Michael Eugene Saunders should steer clear of the booze for a
while.
The Cleveland man was arrested after he
allegedly threatened to shoot his roommate
while under the influence of alcohol on November 22.
According to the probable cause affidavit,
a Pawnee County deputy was dispatched to
a residence in the 200 block of E. Cindy Lane
shortly after 8:25 p.m. When he arrived, a visibly upset woman met him on the front porch.
She told him that her roommate, identified as
Saunders, had a gun and threatened to kill
her.
While they were speaking, Saunders stumbled out the front door – he almost fell while walking down some stairs. The deputy noticed that Saunders
smelled like alcohol. He detained the man and put him in the patrol car until
he could figure out exactly what was going on.
The victim said she was sitting in her recliner, but Saunders pointed a loaded
gun at her and wouldn’t let her stand up. He told her he was going to kill her.
When the deputy asked Saunders about the gun, the man said it was under
his mattress. The deputy seized the loaded pistol from the man’s room.
Saunders said he had argued with his roommate, but he never threatened
to kill her. He added that while he did have a gun, it wasn’t against the law for
him to have a firearm in his own house.
The deputy placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
Saunders is being charged with feloniously pointing firearm and carrying
a firearm while under the influence. His bond was set at $7,500, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on January 8, 2019.
