GRACE UNDER PRESSURE
A 21-year-old Ponca City woman celebrated her new status as a legal drinker a little
too hard when she allegedly stole some beer
and threatened a cashier with a gun, all while
intoxicated on May 14.
According to reports, a Ponca City officer
was dispatched to a gas station in the 200
block of W. Hartford to investigate reports of
a store employee chasing a woman out of the
store. When he arrived at the location, the officer saw the employee fighting with a woman
at the south end of the store.
The woman saw the officer, and she took
off running. The officer caught up to the suspect, later identified as Grace Olivia Buffalohead, and placed her in handcuffs.
Buffalohead appeared to be very intoxicated. She told the officer that people were going to kill her.
The employee told the officer that Buffalohead came into the store about an
hour earlier. She grabbed a case of Budweiser and set it on the counter. She
then told the employee that she forgot her wallet and would be right back.
When Buffalohead returned to the store, she told the cashier, “Don’t hate me,
but I’ll see you tomorrow!” She then grabbed the beer and took off running
out the door.
Buffalohead later returned to the store holding a handgun by her waist. She
told the employee to open the register and give her money. The cashier, noticing the gun wasn’t loaded, closed the register and told her that he couldn’t
do that.
Buffalohead pointed the gun at the employee. The employee walked around
the register, and the two started fighting. After telling a customer to call the
police, the employee was able to grab the gun away from the woman.
Buffalohead is being charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous
weapon and robbery in the second degree. Her bond was set at $150,000.

FIVE FINGER DISCOUNTS
Cassandra Juanita Perales, 24, is a suspect in two separate burglary incidents after
an alleged recent crime spree in Bartlesville.
According to reports, the assistant district
attorney deemed Perales a “danger to the
community” due to her criminal antics. Perales allegedly stole a designer purse and some
Jordan basketball shoes from a residence in
the 1400 block of Frank Phillips Boulevard.
The woman told police she became scared
after stealing the items, and she threw them
in a dumpster.
Officers were unable to find the stolen
purse and shoes.
During the second burglary incident, Perales allegedly entered a home in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue through a
garage window. The victim was alerted about the burglary by a surveillance
camera. Police arrived at the scene and arrested Perales as she was trying to
escape behind the residence.
Court records show the woman currently has six pending cases, which
include charges of exploitation of the elderly, larceny, burglary, and false declaration of ownership.
For her recent arrest, Perales is being charged with two counts of burglary
in the second degree. Her bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to
appear in court on June 11, 2021.

TRAILER SCAMMER ARRESTED
AND CHARGED
Bobby Leonard Ryan III, 29, of Bixby, was arrested May 26, 2021, on four felony counts of
obtaining cash or merchandise by bogus check
or false pretenses.
Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Bart Perrier, who also
led the investigation, arrested Ryan on the felony
warrant issued by the District Court of Osage
County, Pawhuska. Ryan allegedly took thousands of dollars from victims across several
states to build custom ranch-style livestock trailers that he never produced.
Perrier initiated the investigation in the Fall of
2019 after receiving numerous complaints. The
victims all separately claimed that they paid Ryan
a deposit, or the full amount, for custom-made livestock trailers that were
never built or delivered. The victims were also unable to obtain repayment.
As the investigation began and for some time after, Ryan continued doing
business as 5R Ranch Trailers and taking orders for new trailers. Later in the
investigation, he closed the business and left the Osage County area without
delivering the trailers or repaying the victims. In October of 2020, the Osage
County Sheriff’s Office received an additional complaint from another victim
reporting similar financial losses. A felony warrant was then issued for Ryan’s
arrest.
Following his arrest, Ryan was booked into the Osage County Jail and
scheduled for arraignment the following day. He was subsequently released
on a $20,000 bond pending trial.
Perrier and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association would
like to thank Osage County Sheriff’s Office investigator Clay Testerman and
Special Ranger John Cummings for their assistance on the case.
Anyone with additional information or who believes they may have been
victims of the suspected trailer scam should contact Texas and Southwestern
Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Bart Perrier at (918) 440-8360.

CLEVELAND MAN SENTENCED FOR LYING TO A
FIREARMS DEALER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BUY A GUN
A man who attempted to illegally purchase
a gun by lying on a federal firearms transaction form was sentenced on May 24 in federal
court, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Clint
Johnson.
U.S. District Judge Claire V. Eagan sentenced Zackery James Childress, 24, of
Cleveland, Oklahoma, to five years of probation with the first 8 months to be served on
home confinement.
Previously, Childress pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a firearms dealer. In
his plea agreement, the defendant admitted
that on Sept. 3, 2019, he tried to buy a firearm at a pawn shop in Osage County and lied
on the ATF Form 4473, where he indicated that he had never been convicted
of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. In fact, Childress knew he had
been convicted of assault and battery of a pregnant woman on May 1, 2018.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conducted the
investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Thomas Buscemi and Michael Harder
prosecuted the case.
This case was prosecuted as part of the 2150 Initiative. The initiative focuses law enforcement efforts on criminals who use guns during crimes, individuals who lie on federal firearms transaction forms, and straw purchasers who
acquire firearms for prohibited persons. The initiative was named in memory
of Tulsa Police Sergeant Craig Johnson. Sgt. Johnson’s badge number, 2150,
was selected as a way to honor his life and service. This case is also part of
Project Guardian, the Department of Justice’s signature initiative to reduce
gun violence and enforce federal firearms laws.

A concerned citizen of Six Mile, South Carolina, contacted police after spotting Tracy Nadine Ellenburg erratically drunk-riding a stolen stallion down the
middle of Main Street (the citizen’s ability to distinguish between drunken and
sober horseback riding should have been immediately commended). Ellenburg
had parked her horse before police arrived, but the offi cer on scene was able to
locate it anyway, because it was the only horse tied to a bench outside a convenience store. The offi cer confronted Ellenburg, who stank of alcohol, swayed
and slurred her defi ant insistence that she was sober, which you may recognize
as a level of drunkenness so spectacular that people mimic it when they are
pretending to be drunk. Regardless, not only did Ellenburg deny any wrongdoing, she actually blamed the horse, which, if you remember from before, was
stolen. She declared that the horse was drunk, not her, and therefore the horse
was at fault for the erratic riding. The police, not appreciating having witnessed
one of the seven wonders of the drunken excuse world, cited Ellenburg for
disorderly conduct.
A woman in St. Paul, Minnesota, was tucking her children into bed when
she heard a noise somewhere in her house. Going downstairs to investigate,
she spotted a man and a woman running full-tilt out the back door. The woman chased after the intruders and found them loading bags of her stuff onto
their bicycles. They were thwarted hilariously when a neighbor blocked them in
with his car and called the police. The thieves, Charles and Pernella Bull, had
attempted to make off with a laptop, a desktop computer, a toolbox, the woman’s purse and a few other odds and ends. On their bicycles. We cannot stress
this enough. When questioned, Mrs. Bull said that a friend had told her that the
address was listed as a “free house” on Craigslist, which meant that the owners
were moving out in a hurry, so anyone was free to just show up and take whatever they wanted. Mrs. Bull said she had called out to ask if anyone was there
when she walked into the house (you know, the house with all the lights on and
a purse sitting on the counter), but when no one answered, she fi gured it was
vacant and starting loading up the bicycles. The police weren’t able to fi nd the
alleged “free house” listing on Craigslist, most likely because at no point in the
course of human history had it ever existed, so the Bulls were arrested.
As Lee Solarski was tooling along one day, he crashed his car into both a
mailbox and a pickup truck, as one does. Being a responsible citizen, he immediately drove away, not realizing that a witness had written down his license
plate number. When the police tracked him down, Solarski explained that he’d
crashed because his passenger had a tarantula in the car with them. The tarantula had gotten loose and was biting Solarski, causing him to lose control of
the car during the attack. To his credit, we admit a rampaging tarantula would
be enough of a reason to crash anything. The police searched the car but didn’t
fi nd the off ending spider, which we fi gure came as a relief to whichever offi -
cer drew search-the-car-for-a-secret-tarantula duty. After a similarly thorough
search of Solarski failed to produce any spider bites, he was arrested.

SAYRE MAN FACING FIRST DEGREE MURDER
CHARGE IN DEATH OF ONE-YEAR-OLD
Taylor Lambert, 30 was arrested on May 7 in
connection with the death of a one-year-old.
On November 14, 2020, the Oklahoma State
Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) was requested by
the Sayre Police Department to investigate after
the suspicious death of Kashton Ashley that same
day. Autopsy results showed the baby’s death
was the result of a homicide. Lambert was the
boyfriend of Kashton’s mother at the time of his
death.
A felony arrest warrant was issued for Lambert
for one charge of Murder in the First Degree- Child Abuse. Sayre police
officers and Department of Wildlife Game Wardens took him into custody
without incident at the Sayre Police Department. Lambert was transported
to the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office where he will remain until he is arraigned.
