Here’s something you should never do: if a police officer stops you to
talk, never throw a bottle at her.
Ponca City police say they arrested
Ferrill on April 2 after he did just
that.
According to the affidavit, a female
police officer was at a gas station in
the 300 block of W. Grand Avenue
on April 1, when she was approached
by a woman who works for the Kay
County Jail.
The woman pointed out a man in
the store and told the officer that he looked like Ferrill. Ferrill
had warrants out of Kay County. As Ferrill was leaving the gas
station, the officer made contact with him and asked him for his
name. He positively identified himself as Ferrill, and the officer
checked him for warrants.
Dispatch advised that Ferrill had a DUI felony warrant.
Witnesses said Ferrill appeared very nervous while the officer
was speaking to him, and he kept looking around.
He must have known he was in trouble.
When it comes to fight or flight, Ferrill decided to do both. He
allegedly threw a full plastic 1-liter bottle of tea at the officer,
busting her lip, and took off running down an alley. He was able
to escape on foot that day, but he wasn’t a free man for long. The
next day, an officer found Ferrill at a residence in the 400 block
of S. Palm Street and placed him under arrest.
Ferrill is being charged with assault and battery on a police officer after former conviction of a felony and obstructing an officer.
His bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on May 2, 2014.

A Custer County woman was arrested after she allegedly dragged her
husband out of his vehicle and hit him for spending too much money at the
casino.
On March 28, Weatherford police responded to a residence in the 1300
block of Meadow Lane in response to a family disturbance. En route to the
location, an officer was advised that the altercation had become physical,
according to the affidavit.
When police arrived, they spoke with the victim, who said that he and his
wife had got into an argument because he went to the casino and gambled away their money.
He said she hit him several times on the head, face and back with her fist.
The victim added that he went to his truck in an attempt to get away, but his wife pulled him
out of the vehicle, causing his head to hit the ground. The officer noticed the victim’s cheeks
were red and swollen.
Witnesses told police that they had seen the victim’s wife, Teresa Ann Middleton, 47, hit the
victim in the head and attempt to push him down the stairs. They also said that Middleton
had slapped the victim while he was lying on the ground by his truck.
Police spoke to Middleon, and she told them that she was upset at her husband for spending
their money at the casino. She denied hitting her husband or pulling him out of the truck.
Middleton is being charged with domestic abuse — assault and battery, second and
subsequent. She is being held on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April
25, 2014.

A Bartlesville man was none-too-pleased when an
officer recognized him during a traffic stop on April in
which he tried to go by his brother’s name.
According to the affidavit, a Bartlesville police officer pulled over the vehicle of Doyle Dustin Wier, 28,
due to Wier failing to dim his bright lights when meeting the officer’s patrol vehicle.
Wier did not have his driver’s license, and he falsely
gave the officer the name of his brother. He refused to
give the officer his date of birth.
While checking Wier for warrants, dispatch advised
the officer that a Doyle Wier had three outstanding
felony warrants.
Wier’s false personation didn’t last for long, however.
Another officer arrived who had had previous dealings with Wier, and outed the man by stating, “This is Doyle.”
Wier allegedly threw up his hands in exasperation and exclaimed, “Damn it!”
Police placed Wier under arrest for the warrants. During a search of his person, they
found a baggie with a green leafy substance that later field-tested positive for marijuana.
On the way to jail, Wier downplayed his charges and told the officer, “Man, are you
really gonna charge me for weed? Everybody smokes weed.”
He then allegedly said that he had previously served “a little over two years” for just
“one little joint.”
Apparently, a little over two years wasn’t long enough for him to learn his lesson.
Wier is being charged with falsely personating another to create a liability after
former conviction of a felony, second or subsequent, and possession of a controlled
dangerous substance after former conviction of a felony. He is being held in lieu of a
$50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 2, 2014.

A self-proclaimed ungodly Bartlesville
woman showed just how sinful she was after she drunkenly crashed into a yard with
her kids in the car.
Too much unholy water?
On April 15, a Bartlesville police officer
was dispatched to the 1900 block of Richmond due to an intoxicated female that had
run her car into a yard, the affidavit states.
When he arrived, he saw a woman, later
identified as Hannah Kathlyn Fonseca, 27, standing next to a car
with a flat tire in the front yard of a residence.
Fonseca kept swaying back and forth, and the officer smelled
alcohol coming from her breath and person. She also had bloodshot watery eyes and was unsteady on her feet.
As if there was any question whether she was under the influence of something due to her behavior, Fonseca confirmed all
suspicions when she started yelling that she needed to die because she was ungodly.
She refused to answer any questions and was combative with
the officer.
Due to her extremely intoxicated state, the officer was unable
to perform sobriety tests just to make sure.
Witnesses said Fonseca hit a curb and ran into a yard with her
children in the car.
They told the officer that they took her children out of the car
after the accident and took Fonseca’s keys, because she kept trying to drive away while her kids were standing next to the car.
Fonseca is being charged with child endangerment by driving
under the influence, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and assault on a police officer.
She was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on May 2, 2014.

Tulsa Police arrested a 20-year-old man for a rape that they say
was filmed on a cell phone. Willie Donnell Jackson is being held in
lieu of a $75,000 bond on complaints of first degree rape and rape
by instrumentation.
Police say the victim went to her boyfriend’s apartment in the
4800 block of South Darlington, agreeing to have sex with him and
another man. She drank about seven shots of alcohol and smoked
marijuana with them, an arrest and booking report states.
“The victim stated at some point and time she passed out losing
consciousness,” the report states.
Police showed the woman cell phone video of Jackson having sex with her, and the
officer said the victim was shocked and very emotional, saying several times that she
did not give consent to having sex with Jackson.
She believed the marijuana cigarette had been laced with something because “she
did not remember a thing” that she saw on the video.
“The victim at the time of the sexual intercourse was unconscious of the nature of
the act,” the arresting officer said.
Police say Jackson would have been aware of her state because the men were “physically moving her body into positions as well as turning her over onto her back and
stomach, and she appeared to be like a rag doll.”

Pawhuska man Michael Eric Tallchief, 20, was arrested on April 15 because he allegedly fired a gun at
a couple for no reason.
According to the affidavit, a Pawhuska deputy was
dispatched to the area of Whitehair Street due to a
report of shots being fired. When he arrived, he saw
a man walking down the street. He pulled up behind
the man and asked for his name.
The man identified himself as Tallchief. The officer asked the him if he had heard any firearm shots
in the area, but Tallchief told him no. Tallchief then
changed his mind and told the officer yes, he had
heard shots a little earlier.
The officer noticed that Tallchief was sweating and
was unsteady on his feet. He also had slurred speech,
and watery and glazed eyes, which led the officer to
believe that Tallchief was under the influence of an
unknown substance.
While the officer was speaking with Tallchief, a man pulled up and shouted, “That’s
the punk that shot at us, officer!”
The man appeared visibly shaken and was very upset. He explained that he was driving west on 17th Street when he noticed two individuals in the roadway, so he slowed
down to drive by them. The victim told the officer that when he drove close to the two
individuals, Tallchief stepped in front of his vehicle and started shouting obscenities
at him and his wife. Tallchief then stepped to the side of his vehicle. The man said he
looked in his rearview mirror and saw a firearm flash and heard a blast. He said he then
quickly accelerated to get away from Tallchief.
The victim said without a doubt that Tallchief was the person who fired a gun in his
direction.
The officer arrested Tallchief and transported him to jail.
Tallchief is being charged with feloniously pointing a firearm and public intoxication.
His bond was set at $20,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 24, 2014.

Cleveland woman Kara Dawn Blaylock, 32, is facing felony
charges after she tried to escape officers and begging them to
take her to jail.
It’s unclear who was more confused: Blaylock or the officers.
According to the affidavit, Cleveland police were dispatched
to an apartment in the 100 block of E. Kaw Street due to a possible domestic dispute. When they arrived, they saw Blaylock
standing in the doorway. The officers knew from previous dealings with Blaylock that she was hearing impaired.
She motioned for them to come into the residence, and they
walked into an apartment that was in complete disarray. There
was a broken television on the floor and several holes punched
in the walls.
Blaylock grabbed a tablet and wrote, “I broke my probation, take me to jail.”
When an officer tried to explain that she hadn’t committed a crime, she became angry,
and threw an open beer can and a partial 12-pack of soda at the wall.
The officers tried to calm her down, but she again wrote the cryptic message on her
tablet.
While near Blaylock, an officer could smell alcohol from her breath and person.
The officers exited her residence. She followed them outside and raised her hands in
protest, giving them reason to fulfill her request. They placed her under arrest for public
intoxication.
Once at the police department, Blaylock seemed angry that the officer was only charging her with municipal charges, and she refused to be searched or dressed.
During booking, Blaylock appeared to have a change of heart and tried to escape.
She slid her hand out of a restraint and started walking toward the door before officers
stopped her.
She went crazy, and started kicking, striking two officers on their legs.
While being transported to jail, Blaylock spit directly in an officer’s face.
She wanted to be arrested for serious charges — and they say dreams don’t come true!
Blaylock is being charged with prisoner placing body fluid on government employee,
attempted escape from arrest of detention and resisting an officer. Her bond was set at
$7,500, and she was scheduled to appear in court on April 22, 2014.

Jesus said, “You have heard the law
that says the punishment must match the

a tooth.’ But I say, do not resist an evil

God’s purpose behind this law was an expression of mercy. The
law was given to judges and said, in effect, “Make the punishment fit
the crime.” It was not a guide for personal revenge. These laws were
given to limit vengeance and help the court administer punishment
that was neither to strict nor too lenient. Some people, however, were
using this phrase to justify their vendettas against others. People still
try to excuse their acts of revenge by saying, “I was just doing to him
what he did to me.”

As the weather starts to warm
up, recreational thoughts naturally
turn to the wonderful lakes and other waterways in the state of
Oklahoma. Along with the increase of activity in and around the
water, comes the potential for drownings or near drownings, most
of which can be prevented with the use of Personal Floatation
Devices. I’ve talked about them before, but a refresher never hurts,
so here goes!
First, let me just say that there are 5 types of PFDs. I’m not going
to get into their descriptions, just which types are required for what
situation. All PFDs must be U.S. Coast Guard approved, and used
in accordance with their label. The label will also state the type. All
vessels must carry one wearable (Type I, II, III, or V) USCG approved
PFD for each person on board or being towed. In addition to that,
vessels 16 feet in length or longer must have one Type IV USCG
approved PFD on board and readily accessible. Oklahoma Law
requires that all children under 13 years of age wear an approved
PFD whenever underway in a vessel less than 26 feet in length. Each
person on a personal watercraft or sailboard must wear an approved
PFD. Anyone being towed on water skis or similar devices must wear
an approved PFD. Ski belts are not approved PFDs.
Now, besides being USCG approved, all PFDs must be: In good
serviceable condition. They must also be readily accessible. Readily
accessible means you must be able to put the PFD on in a reasonable
amount of time in an emergency. PFDs should not be stowed in
plastic bags, in locked compartments, or have other gear stowed on
top of them. They must also be of the proper size for the intended
wearer. Sizing for PFDs is based on body weight and chest size. A
good way to test this, especially for children, is to put it on, adjust the
straps, and have the wearer raise their arms up, and try to pull it up
off them. If it can come off, it is not the right size for the wearer.
Those are the requirements, so now lets talk about the suggestions. If
you have children in or around water, make sure they have a PFD
on. Air mattresses, floaties, and other toy floatation objects don’t
count. There have been way too many stories of toddlers near the
water’s edge falling in and drowning, and these could be prevented
by following this suggestion. Also, keep a watchful eye on those
kids...even if they are only out of your sight for a few seconds, its long
enough for them to get in trouble around the water. Last, wear one on
boats even if you don’t have to. In an emergency, you may not have
enough time to put it on. Thanks for reading, buckle up those PFDs
