A 41-year-old Blackwell man has been accused of embezzling more than $2,000 from
the Blackwell Youth Pageant.
He initially appeared in court for the embezzlement charge on October 21.
According to reports, Blackwell police officers met with the secretary of the Blackwell
Youth Pageant on July 18 to discuss missing money. She told the officers that Tyson
Wayne Convers served as the head of the
organization. He also controlled the organization’s funds.
The woman said the organization had an
account at a local bank. Convers was the
only member of the organization who had
access to the account. She explained that she believed Convers scammed
renters at JW Park N’ Stay in Ponca City. She also said Convers met with
someone behind the Top of Oklahoma Museum and gave the person an envelope full of money.
The woman told police that Convers dodges debt collectors by having
someone else say he is out of state for a death in the family.
Officers asked Convers for a bank statement, but he never gave them one.
On August 10, another member of the pageant organization gave police
bank statements. She said that Convers left them in her mailbox. Officers
asked her to highlight the unapproved transactions.
The woman gave police a copy of the statement showing amounts collected at fundraisers that were unaccounted for. The amounts totaled $2,472.89.
Convers is being charged with embezzlement. His bond was set at $10,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 6, 2023.

A Florida man was arrested after allegedly storming
the field and attacking a 9-year-old boy during football
practice.
Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David
Alan Taylor, 41, last month in Pensacola.
Deputies said that Taylor’s son was taking part in
one-on-one tackling practice with another player, when
Taylor’s son was overpowered and started crying.
That’s when witnesses said Taylor ran out on the field,
put a helmet on his head, got into a football stance and
then charged the victim, intentionally hitting the boy in
the chest with the helmet.
Deputies said Taylor then grabbed the victim by the arms and pushed
him to the ground.
Witnesses said the boy was crying, but was not seriously hurt and did
not require medical attention.
Deputies said Taylor then yelled, cursed and approached the coaching
staff in an aggressive manner before he was finally stopped.
Taylor was arrested and booked into the Escambia County jail. He was
charged with aggravated child abuse and disorderly conduct, and has
since bonded out of jail.

10 | NOVEMBER 2022 PAWNEE COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
An El Paso, Texas, man busted into a church and absconded with the safe. Safes
are heavy, so he only got a few yards before dropping it on a neighbor’s lawn, where
he tried to crack it open. That’s when he was confronted by the home’s occupant—a
police offi cer.
Is there no honor among thieves? While two suspects were being questioned by
Ogden, Utah, police about shoplifting from a store, someone broke into their car and
stole a stereo and several other items.
How convenient! Only a few months earlier, a man from Iowa City, Iowa had his driver’s license stolen. Then who should show up at the bar where he worked as a bouncer,
but the thief brandishing the bouncer’s very own license as his form of ID.
Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni was impersonating a police offi cer when he pulled
over another car for speeding. The driver quickly sussed out that Mastrogiovanni was
fi bbing since he, too, was a cop, but in his case, the kind of cop who doesn’t have to
pretend he’s a cop because he really is a cop. Mastrogiovanni was arrested for impersonating a police offi cer.
A San Francisco thief pedaled his bike up to a woman on the sidewalk, snatched
the iPhone out of her hands, and rode away. Unknown to him, the woman was in the
middle of demonstrating the iPhone’s new GPS tracking device, which worked—the
thief was captured minutes later.
Following a dispute, Craig Aylesworth, of Bithlo, Florida, allegedly tossed a Molotov
Cocktail at his neighbor’s trailer home … just as the winds shifted, sending embers on
to his own trailer. Luckily, he was arrested, since he no longer had a home of his own
to return to.
Callie Rough of Middletown, Ohio, was picked up for shoplifting from a Dollar General
store with her two young children in tow. Among the booty was a book, 101 Ways to
Be a Great Mom.
Don’t you hate it when you suff er a heart attack and think you’re going to die, so you
confess to a 17-year-old murder, only to fi nd out you’re not going to die and then get
sentenced to life in prison as a result? Yeah, so does James Washington, of Nashville,
because it happened to him.
Clive Halford thinks big! The British career criminal stole a truck and loaded it with
18 pallets of stolen nickel and copper worth around £150,000 (about $250,000). Yes,
the haul was huge—too huge. Cops arrested Halford after the truck’s suspension collapsed under the weight. Earlier, Halford had stolen a car, overloaded it, and broken its
suspension too.

CCSO DONATES GEAR AND
VAN TO PCSO
On October 12, the Creek County Sheriff’s Office donated more than 20
800MhZ radios and a Chevy Prisoner Transport Van. Creek County provided enough radios to outfit each patrol car, deputy, and our communications center. These radios will allows us to have communications with not
only them but, Mannford, Sand Springs, Tulsa, and other agencies bordering
Pawnee County. Recently, a very dangerous pursuit came through Pawnee
County and our deputies had no radio communications with the other agencies involved. This donation will correct that issue! C.C.S.O also provided a
transport van. The 2009 Chevy Express with 80K miles will be a huge help
transporting inmates safely. Words can not express our gratitude to Creek
County and Sheriff Bowling.

MAN PLEADS GUILTY IN BARTLESVILLE
MOTEL MURDER
A man pleaded guilty October 12 in federal court
for killing his girlfriend at a Bartlesville motel.
“Koalton Ellis maliciously took the life of Buffie
Raulston in a fit of anger in 2021. He will now spend
time in federal prison to account for his crime,” said
U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
Koalton Brynn Ellis, 30, pleaded guilty to second
degree murder in Indian Country. In his plea agreement, Ellis admitted that he repeatedly stabbed the
victim, resulting in her death.
On July 24, 2021, the Bartlesville Police Department received a 911 call at 11:07 am regarding the
stabbing of a female victim at a Bartlesville motel.
Upon arrival, first responders located the victim, and
she told them that Koalton Ellis had stabbed her. She was then transported to
the hospital and eventually passed away due to her injuries on Aug. 12, 2021.
Dispatch also received a call from an unknown male who reported the suspect of the stabbing was hiding behind a wooden fence near a local tire shop.
The suspect was located, taken into custody and identified as Ellis. Officers
reported that Ellis was sweating profusely and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
At the hotel, a witness reported seeing Ellis and the victim arguing then Ellis
making some sort of punching or stabbing motions against the victim. The
witness also recognized Ellis as the man who had been staying in the same
room as the victim.
Finally, surveillance video recovered at the motel showed Ellis and the victim walking out of their motel room, having a conversation. Ellis walked to
the parking lot then returned to the room. Shortly after, Ellis left his room and
began knocking on and kicking on a nearby motel door. The victim then appeared to talk to Ellis as he was kicking the door and placed herself between
the defendant and the door, trying to calm him down. Ellis then retrieved a
knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim in the neck. She collapsed to
the ground, and the defendant continued to stab her until she lay motionless.
Video then showed Ellis fleeing the scene.
