RECKLESS DRIVING GRAND LARCENY
A Panama man found wandering around threatening people told police those people were assholes, because he just wanted a ride.
Poteau police were dispatched to the 2400 block of
North Broadway at approximately 11:50 a.m. on March
28. According to the police report, there was a possibly
intoxicated man who was walking around threatening
people at the businesses in the area.
When police arrived, they found Douglas Allan
Hetherington, 51, near the intersection of N. Broadway
and Hughes Drive. Hetherington was unsteady on his
feet and appeared to have trouble walking. An officer
yelled at him to stop.
Hetherington looked back at the officer. The officer told him to come speak to
him, but Hetherington turned back around and kept walking.
The officer ran after the man and stopped him. He asked him what was going
on. Hetherington slurred, “Those people are assholes -- I was just asking for a
ride.”
The man’s eyes were bloodshot and watery and he smelled like booze. The officer asked him if he had been drinking. Hetherington replied in a loud and defensive tone, “What if I have!?” The officer told him he was under arrest.
Hetherington jerked away, causing both himself and the officer to fall in front
of oncoming traffic. A struggle ensued, and two “good Samaritan” motorists assisted the officer with getting Hetherington in handcuffs.
The officer took the man to jail.
Hetherington is being charged with public intoxication and resisting an officer.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2015.

Being a loyal wife is usually a good thing -- unless you lie about your wanted husband’s whereabouts to police. Then being a loyal wife becomes
a felony.
On March 31, a Latimer County deputy went to
a Wilburton residence in the 5300 block of NW
129th Avenue around 8:45 a.m. to serve a felony
warrant on 38-year-old Bryan Shane Morgan.
When he arrived at the residence, Morgan’s
wife, 39-year-old Udona Michele Mitchell, told
police her husband wasn’t home because he was
at a job interview.
According to the affidavit, the deputy could hear
movement coming from inside the house while he
spoke to Mitchell. When he mentioned the noise,
Mitchell told him she was the only one home, and
he must have heard her “small dog moving around
the house.”
Mitchell continued to insist that she was the
only one home. When the deputy asked if he could
walk through the residence to look for the wanted
man, Mitchell told him no.
The deputy left the residence, but he saw Mitchell driving at the intersection of Gowen Road and Highway 270 shortly after 9 a.m. Knowing
that Mitchell’s license was suspended/revoked, the officer followed her
vehicle. She pulled into a residence just before NW 1093 Avenue. The
deputy saw Morgan exit the vehicle and he placed the man under arrest.
Mitchell told the officer she was on her way to Hartshorne to get bond
money and she found Morgan at a friend’s house. She admitted she lied
to the deputy and that Morgan’s job interview had actually been the day
before. The deputy asked her if she would get ahold of Morgan’s friend so
he could confirm Morgan was with him. Mitchell said no.
The couple was transported to jail together.
Mitchell is being charged with harboring a fugitive from justice and
driving with license suspended, third or subsequent offense. Her bond
was set at $2,500, and she is scheduled to appear in court on May 5, 2015.

A Hugo man scared his estranged wife when
she found him asleep in the backseat of her car
on March 24.
31-year-old Dustin Coley Hudson was arrested after he allegedly threatened his wife with a
knife and left some paraphernalia in her vehicle.
According to the police report, the victim arrived at the dispatch center shortly after 3 p.m.
The victim looked scared, and an angry looking
Hudson was right behind her.
Fearing for the woman’s safety, the Choctaw County deputy
stepped in between the two. He grabbed Hudson’s arms and put
him up against the wall. Hudson told the deputy, “Get your hands
off me.”
The deputy instead placed him in handcuffs.
The woman told the deputy she was married to Hudson, but he
had been gone for awhile. She said sometime during the day, Hudson sneaked into her car while she was at work, and she found him
sleeping him in the backseat.
Hudson asked her to take him to the library in Hugo. She did, but
when she refused to let him go her house, he got angry and told her
to just take him to the police station so he would at least have a place
to stay.
When she started driving to the sheriff’s office, she said he pulled
out a knife and told her, “This is going to hurt me more than it will
hurt you.” He also told her they would need a charge against him to
keep him in jail. She said she jumped out of her car and ran into the
dispatch center.
Hudson was booked into jail, and the victim asked the deputy to
get his property out of her car.
In one of Hudson’s bags, the officer found a glass pipe commonly
used for smoking narcotics and a metal pipe that smelled like burnt
marijuana.
Hudson is being charged with domestic assault with a dangerous
weapon, public intoxication and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,000.

An Allen man became angry and combative with officers after he was involved
in a vehicle accident on April 8.
Houston Eric Foster, 41, was arrested because he allegedly wrecked a car while
drunk and left the scene of the accident.
According to the police report, a state trooper was dispatched to a field on the
northwest side of Eubanks Road and state Highway 3 at approximately 5 p.m. It
appeared the vehicle had been traveling north on Eubanks Road when it left the
roadway and took out a fence and hit some trees.
The driver was nowhere to be found.
The reporting party told police Foster had knocked on their front door and
asked for a ride to a residence in Tupelo. The man had noticeable cuts on his body.
Police went to the residence. Foster said he wasn’t the one driving the wrecked
vehicle, but he refused to tell who the driver was. He admitted he had been drinking.
A witness told police he saw Foster leave the residence in the wrecked vehicle at a “high rate of speed” with the
wheels spinning. Shortly after, the witness saw Foster return to the residence in the reporting party’s vehicle.
Foster finally admitted he wrecked the vehicle.
When police placed him under arrest, he became belligerent and uncooperative. The trooper buckled the
man up in the front seat of the patrol car, but Foster unbuckled the seat belt and tried to open the door.
The trooper struggled with Foster to get the seat belt back on him. Foster kept yelling obscenities, and he had
to be placed into a cell almost immediately when they arrived at the jail.
While investigating the scene, the trooper discovered the tag on Foster’s vehicle had expired in 2012.
Foster is being charged with leaving scene of accident involving property damage, driving a motor vehicle
while under the influence of alcohol, displaying Oklahoma driver’s license after license suspended/canceled/
revoked and failure to pay all taxes due state. His bond was set at $2,600, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on June 5, 2015.

A McAlester man with a known history of “pyromania” was arrested March 28 for allegedly setting some
property on fire.
A Pittsburg County deputy was dispatched to the 300
block of E. Adamson Road in Krebs around 4 p.m. The
reporting party told police he saw Douglas Scott Brown,
55, walking away from his neighbor’s property.
The property was on fire.
When a deputy arrived on scene, he found Brown sitting on the porch of a trailer house drinking some beer.
The property around him was burnt and smoldering.
When the deputy asked the man what was going on,
Brown told the officer nothing, and he didn’t want any trouble with the law.
The deputy asked him how much beer he had had to drink. Brown said a couple. The deputy also asked him if he had set the property on fire. Brown said no,
and he didn’t know who did it.
According to the affidavit, the deputy knew from past experiences that Brown
had a “pyromania type of history.”
The deputy placed the man under arrest and walked him over to his house so
he could lock his door. While walking through Brown’s yard, the deputy noticed
that a stump in his yard appeared to have been set on fire. There were also several
small piles of ashes in the man’s yard. Brown admitted to setting the stump on
fire.
Brown is being charged with third-degree arson. His bond was set at $40,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on May 22, 2015.

Oklahoma Game Wardens Michael Zimmerman
(Grady Co.) and John Grellner (Caddo Co.) were
patrolling Ft. Cobb Lake when they observed a suspect in an inflatable kayak with a gill net. The suspect attached the gill net to one of several jugs and
stretched it out. Later, the suspect was observed
removing fish from the net, bringing them back to
shore.
Wardens made contact with the suspect and
seized a 150 ft. long gill net from the lake, along with
the kayak and numerous Channel Catfish, Striped
bass hybrids, White bass and an assortment of nongame fish.
Charges are pending, in District Court, including
multiple counts of illegal take of game fish and illegal take of non-game fish.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Keota man James Edward Young, 59, was placed under arrest
after he allegedly pulled a knife on a woman during an argument
regarding money issues.
The man claimed she had a gun -- she didn’t.
On March 23 shortly after 7:15 p.m., a woman walked into the
McCurtain Police Department and said a man had assaulted her.
According to the affidavit, the woman told an officer that she
had been at Young’s home earlier that day to talk about some
money issues. Sometime during their talk, Young became angry
and started cursing and screaming at the woman. She said she
stood up, and Young grabbed a knife and held it 3 inches from her
chest. He told her he would cut her.
After getting the victim’s statement, police went to Young’s
residence on South Allen Street. Young and his wife were in the
home. Officers spoke with the couple about the fight, and his wife initially denied that he
threatened the victim with a knife. She later admitted that Young had indeed pulled a knife
on the woman.
Young also denied the allegation, but he then told police he threatened her with a knife
because he thought she had a gun.
The victim was not armed at the time of the altercation.
Young was placed under arrest and taken to jail.
Young is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. He was released on a
$10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2015.

People usually try to hide their drugs when stopped
by police. Not 28-year-old David Ali Shahhosseini,
however.
The Canadian man was arrested in Bryan County after he allegedly ate mushrooms and injected himself
with a syringe right in front of a police officer, according to the affidavit.
On April 1, a Colbert police officer stopped Shahhosseini’s vehicle on Leavenworth Trail around 11:38 p.m.
because the car had an expired tag. Shahhosseini appeared to be very nervous during the stop.
When the officer told the man he couldn’t let him
drive with an expired license, Shahhosseini became angry and uncooperative. He kept getting in and out of his vehicle, opening the
center console, reaching under seats and trying to use his cellphone.
At some point during the stop, Shahhosseini ran away from the officer and
jumped back in his vehicle, locking the door. The officer saw him grab a baggy
and start eating what appeared to be mushrooms. The man then grabbed a loaded syringe and injected himself in his arm.
More officers arrived to assist, and police placed a spike strip in front of his
vehicle in case he tried to drive away.
Shahhosseini refused to exit his vehicle, so police broke his window and
sprayed pepper spray inside of his car. The man drove off, driving over the spike
strip in front of his vehicle.
Officers pursued Shahhosseini, who was forced to come to a stop on northbound 69/75 because his tires were deflated and shredded from the spike strip.
Police told the man to get on the ground, but Shahhosseini got out of his car
and ran around to the passenger side and tried to open the door. Police were able
to place the man in handcuffs.
During an inventory of the man’s vehicle, police found numerous syringes,
small baggies containing mushrooms, a baggy containing a white powdery substance, some pills and a green leafy substance. There was also a scale and more
empty baggies in the back seat.
Shahhosseini is being charged with unlawful possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, escape from
arrest or detention, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer. He was released on a $20,000 bond, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on May 27, 2015.

GILLEY
Idabel man Michael Scott Gilley, 33,
found himself behind the bars of a jail
cell March 26 after he beat on a woman’s
apartment door and assaulted a police officer.
A woman called police shortly after 5
p.m. and told them Gilley was beating on
her door, trying to get into her apartment.
She said she thought Gilley might be on
something because he was “acting crazy.”
According to the affidavit, Idabel officers found Gilley in the 1700 block of
Birch Street. The man was unsteady
on his feet and had to lean on the patrol vehicle for support. He also
smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech.
While speaking with officers, Gilley would continuously calm down,
then become angry. He yelled and cursed at officers and “tried to control the scene.”
Even though police tried to get Gilley to go into his house, the man
refused and continued to yell and cuss at officers.
An officer placed the man under arrest and took him to jail. Gilley
continued to yell and become uncooperative.
During booking, he tried to headbutt an officer. A struggle ensued,
and Gilley caused an officer to fall into a wall, breaking chunks of the
wall loose. Gilley also hit his head and split “his right eye open.” He then
proceeded to “gulp” blood into his mouth and spit at officers.
When an officer tried to get the man into jail clothes, Gilley again
lashed out and started fighting with the officer.
They finally put him in the sobriety cell, but Gilley’s strange behavior only continued. Gilley stripped naked, started masturbating, threw
blood around the cell and peed on the walls.
Gilley is being charged with assault and battery upon police officer
and public intoxication. His bond was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 29, 2015.

Atoka man Michael Dwayne Leuty, 45, was arrested after police
found a lunchbox full of drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop on
April 2.
According to the police report, a state trooper stopped Leuty’s vehicle at approximately 1:34 p.m. while he was traveling west on state
Highway 3, because the man kept “weaving in the lane he was driving in” and crossed the outside lane three different times.
During the stop, the trooper asked Leuty to have a seat in his patrol vehicle while he wrote him a warning for improper lane use.
While in the patrol car, the man appeared to be very nervous and
didn’t seem to want to talk to the trooper. The trooper contacted an
Atoka County deputy, who brought his K9 to the scene.
The deputy walked the K9 around the vehicle, and the dog alerted on the driver’s side of
Leuty’s vehicle, indicating the presence of drugs. In the back seat floorboard, police found a
red lunch box that contained two plastic baggies of a crystal-like substance and a glass pipe.
When the trooper asked Leuty about the lunch box, he said another man had given him the
stuff to sell.
The substance in the baggies field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
The trooper placed Leuty under arrest and transported him to jail.
Leuty is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance. He was released
on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 15, 2015.

A Clayton man arrested for suspicion of DUI became pissed when
his woman was also arrested on April 9 -- he threatened to kick out
the vehicle’s dash and fight police “tooth and nail.”
According to the police report, a state trooper was on SH 2/US 271
on April 9 when he saw a red truck traveling toward Clayton with one
blinker on at approximately 1:40 a.m. The truck was swerving all over
the road, and at one point, it left the roadway and traveled in a ditch.
The truck then turned west onto a county road; it traveled onto the
opposite side of the road and almost hit a stop sign.
The trooper stopped the vehicle and immediately noticed a strong
odor of alcohol. The driver, Darrel Lynn Henry, 26, had bloodshot
eyes and slurred speech.
When Henry stepped out of the truck, he had to hold onto the truck
to keep from falling. The trooper placed him under arrest.
The passenger, Itasca, Texas, woman Marci Weedon, 37, admitted to drinking some of Henry’s whiskey. When the trooper placed
her under arrest, Henry became “very combative and aggressive.” He
threatened to kick out the dash of the patrol car if the trooper didn’t
get her go.
During an inventory of the man’s truck, the trooper found an
opened bottle of whiskey in the backseat.
On the way to jail, the trooper told the couple to be quiet. Both of
them talked and yelled all the way to Antlers.
The trooper took Henry to the hospital for a blood withdraw. Henry
told the trooper he was going to fight once he was out of the car.
Once they were inside the hospital, the tough man got scared of the
needle, however, and wouldn’t take the test.
Henry then told the officer he was going to fight “tooth and nail”
once he was inside the jail.
Thankfully, police were able to get the man booked into a cell without incident.
Weedon is being charged with public intoxication and transporting
open container. She was released on a $550 bond.
Henry is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of alcohol, transporting open bottle or container of liquor and failure to carry insurance/security verification form. He was
released on a $5,850 bond.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on May 20, 2015.

When a Checotah officer found a burglary
suspect lying under a tree, the suspect told
him she was just resting. She had some interesting answers for a couple of things.
According to the police report, the officer
was dispatched to Walmart at approximately
7:48 p.m. due to a shoplifter. The officer was
advised the suspects had left the scene and
their vehicle was in the parking lot of some
nearby apartments.
An apartment resident told him he saw a
man and woman run behind the complex.
The officer found a woman lying under a tree. He told her to show
him her hands. She refused. She rolled up to a sitting position, the the
officer grabbed her hand and placed her in handcuffs.
She was identified as Oklahoma City woman Patricia Marie Smith,
39. Smith told the officer she was just resting. The officer asked her
why she was resting. She didn’t respond, but instead asked if she
could pay for the CDs she took from Walmart.
The officer told her it was too late for that, and he walked her to his
patrol car. He asked if she had anything illegal on her; she admitted
to having a pipe and some meth in her purse.
Smith told the officer the other suspect with her was a man she met
at McDonald’s. The officer asked her if she normally got rides from
strangers -- she said yes. She later told the officer that the vehicle was
hers.
During an inventory of the car, the officer found a needle containing a liquid substance, a spoon and a small baggy containing what
appeared to be meth. He also found bolt cutters, wire cutters, small
hacksaws and a crowbar. In the back seat, the officer found what appeared to be an Ace bandage with holes forming a face.
Smith told the officer she worked construction, and she used the
bandage on her knee. When the officer asked her why it had holes in
it, she said she put the bandage on her face when she was cold.
Smith is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous
substance, possession of burglary tools, petit larceny and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $10,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 11, 2015.
