Two Poteau men were arrested July 22 after they allegedly
threatened a man and slashed his tire.
According to the affidavit, a LeFlore County deputy was dispatched to a bowling alley on Old Wister Highway in reference
to a robbery. When he and another officer arrived, they saw a
visibly upset men sitting in a truck with a flat left rear tire. A
black SUV occupied by two men and a woman attempted to
leave the parking lot when police arrived, but an officer blocked
their exit.
The victim told police that one of the men in the vehicle, Nelson Burton Hobbs, 32, asked him if he wanted to buy some
stereo equipment. He then called the other man, Derek Blue
Vaughn, 28, to come to the vehicle. The victim said Vaughn
told him to go to the bowling alley to look at the stereo equipment. They traveled to the bowling alley, and the victim said he
began looking at the equipment. Hobbs then told him that he
and Vaughn needed him to go buy pills for him, or they would
keep his truck and burn it. The victim said he then ran back to
his truck, but discovered that Vaughn had taken his keys out of
the ignition. When he tried to call 911, he said Vaughn took his
cell phone.
The victim told the officer Hobbs then took a large knife and
slashed his tire, and Hobbs and Vaughn began threatening
him. He said Vaughn had a hatchet in his hand. The victim said
he feared for his life, and that if police had not shown up when
they did, Hobbs and Vaughn would have hurt him.
Vaughn and Hobbs denied the victim’s account and said they
were there to buy pills from him. They said they had no idea how his tire became damaged.
Police arrested Vaughn and Hobbs and transported the men to jail.
They are both being charged with attempted robbery with a weapon and molest motor
vehicle. Their bonds were set at $25,000, and they were scheduled to appear in court on
August 8, 2014.

On June 17, 2007, 73-year-old Rosemary Wolfe was found shot to death
inside her Langley home by her husband. The Medical Examiner’s Offi ce
ruled she died of several gunshot wounds.
The Mayes County Sheriff ’s Offi ce requested OSBI help investigate
the death. Since then, agents have conducted numerous interviews and
collected evidence in the case.
Investigators believe they know what happened to Ms. Wolfe. However, they need a few more
pieces of evidence/information in order to resolve the case. OSBI hopes someone with that
information will come forward to help solve the case and allow her family some peace. Since her
death happened on Father’s Day – that day is an especially diffi cult one.
Wolfe’s family is off ering up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of
the person responsible for her death.
If anyone has any information on this case, please call the OSBI hotline at 1-800-522-8017.

Hugo man Reginald Patrick Morris, 44, was arrested August 3 after police caught him running around naked in the
streets of Hugo.
According to the affidavit, Hugo officers were dispatched
to the area of H and McAlester about 12:41 a.m. because
someone was yelling outside and disturbing the neighbors.
One of the officers said a naked man, who he identified as
Morris, had run from him around G and Clayton and headed south.
Police eventually located the speedy nude man in the
parking lot of a motel on Jackson Street.
When an officer pulled into the parking lot, he saw the
naked man knocking on the door to the main lobby of the
motel, trying to get someone to let him in.
A crowd gathered as police tried to apprehend Morris.
An officer told Morris to place his hands behind his back
because he was being arrested for indecent exposure. Morris turned around and allowed the
officer to handcuff him, but he tried to get away from police as they walked to the patrol car.
Morris resisted and both officers tried to force him into the vehicle.
One of the officers noticed that Morris was foaming at the mouth, was talking extremely
fast and had rigged muscles. He started rambling about people and said there was a woman
at the other side of the parking lot watching him — there was no woman.
Due to Morris’s actions and paranoia, the officer believed Morris might be under the influence of some kind of intoxicant.
Police were unable to force Morris into the patrol car. They warned Morris several times
that if he didn’t comply, he was going to be sprayed with pepper spray. Morris refused to back
down, but he finally relented when an officer sprayed him.
Once they were at the jail, Morris refused to get on his knees so officers could take the
shackles and handcuffs off of him. Eventually, police had to force him to the ground to take
off the restraints.
Morris is being charged with indecent exposure, resisting an officer and public intoxication. His bond was set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2014.

MORRIS
Tupelo man William Conley Boaz II, 26, was carted off to jail when
an officer saw him fighting with a woman on a street corner. Boaz also
had some illegal items in his pockets.
On July 25, a Tupelo police officer was on patrol around 6:35 p.m.
when he saw Boaz and a woman arguing at the corner of Fifth Street
and Pine, the affidavit states. As the officer approached them, the
woman hit Boaz in the face.
Boaz’s day was only going to get worse.
The officer separated the couple and started questioning them
about the altercation. He requested that Boaz empty his pockets to
make sure he wasn’t hiding any weapons. Boaz was holding a child on
his right hip and refused to empty his right pockets. The officer told
him to hand the child to the child’s grandmother. Boaz complied, and
the officer told him to place his hands on his head.
Before the officer had a chance to search the man, Boaz told him
there was a pipe in his pocket.
Inside of the pocket, the officer found a rag; wrapped up inside the
rag was a pipe containing a white crystal-like substance. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
The officer placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
He declined to press charges against the woman who hit him.
Boaz is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous
substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
released on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
August 21, 2014.

An Oklahoma City man got to
experience the Latimer County Jail
after he was caught driving with a
suspended license and marijuana on
August 3.
According to the affidavit, a Wilburton officer was patrolling the 200
block of W. Main Street at 2:23 a.m.
when he noticed a gold car in front of
him. The car stopped at a stop sign,
and the officer saw that the third
brake light of the vehicle was defective. The officer pulled the vehicle
over and made contact with the driver, Lorn Ryan McBride, 35.
While speaking to McBride, the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana. McBride told the officer he
didn’t have his driver’s license yet because he was still paying fines.
Dispatch advised the officer that McBride’s license was suspended.
The officer placed McBride under arrest and asked him if he had
anything illegal in the car that he wasn’t supposed to have. He told
the officer there might be a marijuana pipe somewhere in the car,
but he wasn’t sure. McBride added that he usually throws his marijuana roaches out the window, but there was possibly one inside the
vehicle.
McBride should’ve done what he usually does.
The officer found a green leafy substance in a cup holder in the
center console and a rolled up piece of paper with a green leafy substance in the floorboard. The substance later field-tested positive for
marijuana.
McBride is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (second or subsequent offense) and driving with license suspended. His bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on August 19, 2014.

A Soper man tried to avoid a safety checkpoint at the corner of Jumbo Miller Road and Sugar Loaf Road by pulling a
u-turn on his four-wheeler.
You would’ve done the same if you were packing the items
he was!
According to the affidavit, state troopers were conducing
the safety checkpoint on August 7 in Pushamataha County
around 8 p.m. when they saw Justin Clinton Trent, 34, approach the checkpoint on his four-wheeler, then make a wide
u-turn.
A trooper activated his lights and siren and followed Trent.
Trent kept looking back over his shoulder watching the
trooper, and as he slowed down to pull over, he tossed a black
object that appeared to be a gun into the ditch.
The trooper ordered Trent to the ground.
More troopers arrived to assist, and as one went to handcuff Trent, the man jumped to his feet and acted like he was going to run away. The trooper
grabbed him, but Trent started flinging his arms around.
Police had to place him in a neck restraint and take him to the ground to place him in
handcuffs.
They then noticed Trent was unconscious. EMS was called to the scene, Trent woke up, and
EMS said Trent was OK.
Trent admitted that he had meth in a bag on the four-wheeler. Police found roach clips,
pipes with black residue, scales, pills, baggies containing a green leafy substance that fieldtested positive for marijuana and a bag containing a white powdery substance. The substance
field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Police also found a case in Trent’s pocket containing four bags with a green leafy substance, a marijuana cigarette and rolling papers.
A trooper asked Trent if he had used meth. Trent said he used the drug a couple of hours
prior, and admitted that he was still under the influence of the drug.
Trent is being charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of controlled dangerous
substance, possession of firearm after former felony conviction, driving a motor vehicle while
under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of CDS without a prescription, resisting an officer, assault on police officer, eluding/
attempting to elude police office and operating prohibited vehicle on street.

An alleged serial burglar’s craving
for El Pollo Loco appears to have
done him in.
Daniel Warn, 28, was caught on
security video in the early morning
hours of July 16 going through the
drive-thru window at the fast food
restaurant in Costa Mesa, Calf.
Video allegedly showed him
ransacking the eatery, but he failed
to find any money.
Later that day, police say Warn,
of Bloomington, returned to the El
Pollo Local to order food wearing the same distinctive hat and bright
green shirt.
“Shortly before noon on July 16, employees at the El Pollo Loco
contacted Costa Mesa Police reporting that a subject matching the
description of the suspect seen on the store video was back at the
restaurant, in line to order food,” authorities said.
Warn was arrested at the restaurant.
He is also a suspect in several other commercial burglaries in the
south Costa Mesa area that occurred earlier in the week.
Warn, who has a criminal arrest record, was out of jail as part of
California’s Realignment program.
He is being held at the Orange County Jail on $35,000 bail.

McAlester man Jon Walter Loving, 25, was
caught entering an abandoned house in the
area of 6th and Seminole on July 24. He admitted he was going to take stuff for rent money,
but unfortunately for him, that’s illegal.
According to the affidavit, a caller advised
McAlester police that a man had entered the
front door of an abandoned residence. After
walking through the abandoned building, police heard a loud noise. They found Loving and
asked what he was doing. Loving told them, “I
was just checking out this abandoned building.”
The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Loving, and he
asked him if he had been drinking. Loving admitted to taking two
shots.
The building contained valuable property, including several antiques, bicycles and old furniture.
The officer placed Loving under arrest for burglary, and he asked
the man if he had anything illegal on him. Loving said no, but during
a pat down search, the officer found a syringe and three small pills.
During a search of the building, an officer found another needle
and syringe in the area they had arrested Loving. Loving told the
officers he knew the building was abandoned, but he was trying to
make some quick money. He didn’t think it would hurt to take anything. He said he was going to “scalp some stuff for money.”
The officer asked him if he knew it was illegal to enter a building
he didn’t own — Loving said yes. The officer then asked Loving why
he had a syringe in his pocket. Loving said he didn’t know. When the
officer asked him if he had dropped another needle in the building,
Loving said no, but he said the needles belonged to his mother.
Loving is being charged with burglary in the second degree, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. He
was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court
on September 9, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Kingston man Zachary Chase Jones,
24, was caught with a stolen vehicle,
paraphernalia, drugs and outstanding
warrants.
As if that wasn’t enough wrongdoing,
he tried to run away from police when
confronted in the truck. That didn’t
work — apparently he had also been
running from the feds.
You can run, but you can’t hide.
According to the police report, a Durant officer took a report of a vehicle
and three 5-gallon gas cans that were
stolen July 25 from a residence in Yarnaby. A while later, the officer was driving north on McLean Road in Durant when he saw a vehicle matching the description of the stolen truck in front of a residence in the
100 block of McLean. There was a male subject, later identified as
Jones, in the driver’s seat. A woman was standing outside the passenger door of the truck.
The officer requested back up and circled back around to the residence. Jones exited the vehicle. The officer pulled up behind the
truck, and Jones walked toward the front door of the house. The officer withdrew his weapon and ordered Jones to get on the ground
several times. Jones asked him why, and the officer continued to order him to the ground.
Jones finally told him, “No,” and he took off running through the
yard, but it wasn’t long before police had him in custody.
Officers found a syringe and needle on his person, and a small bag
containing a crystal-like substance and spoon in the truck. They also
discovered Jones had federal arrest warrants.
Jones is being charged with escape from arrest or detention. His
bond was set at $10,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on
August 14, 2014.

July 28 was a grave day for Brandy Michelle Tucker, 41,
and Alan Lee Thomas, 47.
The Atoka woman and Kingston man were arrested at
Wards Chapel Cemetery with drugs and paraphernalia.
According to the affidavit, an Atoka police officer saw the
couple’s vehicle parked beside the cemetery around 7:40
p.m. He pulled in behind the vehicle and saw Tucker and
Thomas sitting in the truck. It looked like Tucker was messing with something.
The officer made contact with the couple, and Thomas
told him they stopped at the cemetery so Tucker could see
her father’s grave.
The officer asked Thomas to have a seat in the patrol car.
When Thomas exited his vehicle, he kept his back to the
officer.
The officer asked him if he had any weapons, and Thomas
said no before reaching into his pocket.
The officer told him to take his hand out of his pocket;
Thomas did, but he threw a glass smoking pipe to the
ground.
The officer placed Thomas under arrest. As he was placing Thomas in handcuffs, he saw Tucker messing around
with something in the truck while she watched him.
After getting Thomas in cuffs, the officer detained Tucker.
He picked up the pipe Thomas had thrown to the ground
— it had a white powdery residue that field-tested positive
for methamphetamine.
The officer searched Thomas and found two more pipes
with residue, a straw with residue, a small bag with residue and a clear cigarette wrapper
containing a green leafy substance that later field-tested positive for marijuana.
The officer asked Tucker if there were any illegal narcotics in the truck. She told him there
were some in a bag in the back seat, but she wouldn’t say if the bag belonged to her or
Thomas.
In the bag, the officer found three bags containing a crystal like residue and a straw with
residue. He also found a pipe in the glove box.
He asked Tucker whom the items belonged to, but she wouldn’t tell him. She just said that
they both smoked it earlier while driving down the road.
They are being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released on $12,000 bonds and are both scheduled to appear in court on September 3, 2014.

Isn’t technology a grand thing?
Thirty-six-year-old Rickey Shane Duncan, 36, probably doesn’t think
so. The Eufaula man was arrested after a GPS on a battery he stole from
a Eufaula oil well site tipped off police.
A McIntosh County deputy received a message from the GPS on the
battery on August 4. According to the affidavit, the GPS would advise
police if it had been removed from the site, and it would send subsequent alerts as it traveled.
Cool, huh? Not for Duncan!
Deputies tracked the movement of the battery to Mill Creek. They
watched the live feed of information from the battery and were able to
locate the vehicle it was in. The driver was Duncan, and he was the only occupant of the vehicle. Police asked him to step out of the vehicle, and a deputy placed him in handcuffs.
After he was searched for weapons, Duncan agreed to speak to a deputy, and he admitted to
taking the batteries. He allegedly told the deputy that he broke into the site, cut the wires, and
took the batteries and switch box. Two batteries and a switch box were found in his vehicle.
Police inspected the well site and discovered that the power cables that led to the batteries
and switch box had been cut.
Duncan caused damage resulting in an approximate loss of $750.
He will probably think twice before stealing something again!
Duncan is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property. His bond was set at
$30,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 28, 2014.

A Roland man was arrested for drugs
after a woman kicked him out of her
house. Apparently, he became angry
when someone took a cigarette from
him, and he tore up the woman’s home.
Too bad he forgot to get rid of his fake
weed.
According to the affidavit, a Keota
police officer was dispatched to the 100
block of S. Broadway around 7:30 p.m.
The owner of the residence told him
that Quinn Edward Greer, aka “Burnout,” 45, had destroyed her house. She
said someone had taken a cigarette
from him and he became angry.
The woman led the officer to a room where Greer was; the door was
locked and when the officer announced his presence and asked Greer
to come talk to him, Greer said, “Why?”
Greer eventually came out of the room smelling like alcohol and
had watery, bloodshot eyes. The officer asked him what the problem was. Greer told him there was no problem and that he had been
sleeping.
The officer told him he needed to leave the residence, and he asked
Greer if he had any illegal drugs in the room. Greer said no and gave
the officer permission to search.
The officer detained him in handcuffs and asked if he had any fake
dope. Greer admitted that there were some empty bags from “about
a week ago.”
In the room, the officer found six packages of synthetic cannabis.
Some of the packages still had a leafy substance inside of them. The
officer also found a pipe and “roach clips” in the room.
Greer was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Greer is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous
substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
August 12, 2014.

An Idabel man was caught with some meat in his pants
after he allegedly hit an elderly man in a wheelchair.
According to the affidavit, Idabel police were dispatched
to 5 NE Avenue on August 1 around 12:30 p.m. in reference
to the assault. A woman told them Marion Allen Whitten
Jr., 34, was drunk and hit her grandpa. The man declined to
press charges, but said he didn’t want Whitten’s “drunk ass”
back at his residence.
Police found Whitten staggering and falling down in an alley. When an officer approached Whitten, the man laughed
and slurred, “I’m drunk! You caught me!”
Whitten admitted to drinking “a lot!” of alcohol. The officer could smell the evidence on his breath. Whitten’s eyes
were glassy and bloodshot.
The officer noticed what appeared to be a package of meat
in Whitten’s pants. When the officer asked Whitten why he had meat in his pants, Whitten
said, “You know I stole them from…ahhh…not Cash Saver…ahhh…Sav A Lot…come on man!”
He started laughing and the officer told him to stand up. The officer had to help him, and
he placed Whitten under arrest.
Once he placed Whitten into the patrol car, the drunken man stuck his foot out of the car
and said, “Get these out of my pants!”
The officer pulled two packages of steaks out of the bottom of Whitten’s left pant leg. One
package contained three ribeyes and had a price reduced sticker. At least Whitten was a bargain burglar!
The other packaged contained two sirloins.
This package was ripped, and the exposed meat was touching Whitten’s pants and boot.
Once they were at the jail, Whitten became belligerent and started yelling and screaming.
He told the officer he was going to beat his ass, and that his parents were pieces of s---.
The officer knew better than to pay attention to a man with meat in his pants.
An employee at the grocery store told police she saw a man pulling up his pants in an aisle
and when he saw her, he walked out of the store with a noticeable bulge in the front of them.
If you thought he was just happy to see her, you would be mis-steak-en.
Whitten is being charged with public intoxication. His bond was set at $1,000, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on August 13, 2014.
How’d you get all that meat in those jeans?
