Spiro man Thomas Gene Pennington,
32, admitted to knowing a vehicle was
stolen when an officer found the truck in
the man’s mom’s backyard on October
24.
Although he knew it was stolen, Pennington said he didn’t actually steal the
truck.
According to the police report, a Spiro
officer was advised that there was a possible stolen vehicle at a residence in the
200 block of North Columbus. When he
arrived, he located the truck in the backyard and checked its tags -- yep, it was
the stolen vehicle!
The officer made contact with the homeowner, who said her son,
identified as Pennington, had asked her if he could park the vehicle in
her yard for a friend.
The officer spoke with Pennington about the truck at approximately
6:30 p.m. Pennington said his friend asked him for a ride to go pick up
the truck at Highway 9 and Highway 59, but he declined. His friend contacted him later and said he would pay him $150 to remove the brush
guard off of the truck.
Pennington said he took the truck to his mom’s house and parked it
in the backyard.
When the officer asked the man if he knew the vehicle was stolen,
Pennington said yes. He said his friend told him the vehicle would be
reported stolen that day, but he would come pick it up.
Pennington is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property. He was released on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear
in court on November 10, 2016.

A Palm Beach Gardens man is facing charges that he pointed a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident, according to an arrest report.
If the accusation proves true, then Jack Michael Haberkorn picked the
wrong victim.
The person Haberkorn allegedly threatened turned to be an off-duty Palm
Beach Gardens police officer.
Haberkorn, 22, is now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly
weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, improperly exhibiting a firearm and
possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and is being held
in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $81,000 bail.
The road rage incident took place eastbound on PGA Boulevard and began
when a 2014 Volkswagon Jetta driven by Haberkorn cut in front of the off-duty
officer and “continuously” braked hard, the report said.
The officer said she pulled up along the Jetta and said, “Really … really?”
Haberkorn allegedly responded by reaching down and pointing the weapon
out the window and at the woman while stating, “You better watch who the
[expletive] you’re [expletive] with,” the report said.
The officer alerted police and followed the Jetta until it ran a red light at the
intersection of PGA Boulevard and Lake Victoria Gardens Avenue.
Police tracked down Haberkorn and found a loaded .40-caliber Glock in his
possession as well as Xanax and burglary tools inside his vehicle. The off-duty
officer positively identified Haberkorn as the person who pointed the weapon
at her.
Authorities say an assistant principal at a Tampa area high school ended up
going to a hospital and then to jail after she tried some pot-laced cookies for
her 50th birthday.
Pasco County Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Doll says Donna Lynch Haff overdosed Monday on cookies made with cannabis oil.
He says the educator’s daughter, 19-year-old Allison Haff, had obtained the
cookies from a co-worker and brought them home after her mother said she
wanted to try marijuana for her 50th.
Doll says both were released from jail that day and that they were charged
with felony possession of a controlled substance.
It’s unclear if the women have retained attorneys.
School district officials say the assistant principal has been placed on administrative leave from her high school in Holiday.
A woman was arrested after she injured her husband with a sword after an
argument over drugs and their relationship, deputies say.
The Clay County Florida Sheriff’s Office responded Nov. 5 to a home in the
1680 block of Baxley Road in Middleburg.
During an argument, Brandi Oberdeck, 25, threw a wrench at Peter Oberdeck and hit him in the thigh, deputies said.
Peter Oberdeck got a sword, caused damage to the home and dropped the
sword, the report said.
CCSO said Brandi Oberdeck grabbed the sword and struck the victim’s
stomach, forearms and right side.
Peter Oberdeck was taken to Orange Park Medical Center for treatment.
Peter and Brandi Oberdeck have been married for about four years.
Deputies said it appears that they were under the influence of alcohol or
drugs. Deputies found two swords inside the home.
Brandi Oberdeck is charged with aggravated battery. CCSO said she was
placed on suicide watch.

Convicted felon Barry Adell Tubbs was arrested
on October 26 after he allegedly attacked his wife
because she didn’t buy him a gun.
The 54-year-old Wilburton man told an officer he
had no idea what his wife was talking about.
According to the police report, a Wilburton officer
was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of
East Cedar around 8 p.m. to investigate a domestic disturbance involving a weapon. He met with the
man’s wife and two other men who said Tubbs was
intoxicated. The woman said when she came home,
Tubbs was upset and wanted his $400 that he had
sent with her to buy a gun. She told her husband to take his money and
leave.
Tubbs was holding a pistol, and he pointed it toward the floor and fired a
round. He then pointed it at her and said, “I am going to kill you. Now give
me my money.”
The woman said she lunged at her husband and tried to wrestle the gun
away from him.
One of the other men in the home heard the disturbance and ran in to see
what was going on. He pulled Tubbs off the woman and grabbed the gun
and hid it in another room.
The officer walked into the couple’s bedroom where he found Tubbs lying on the bed. He placed the man in handcuffs and asked him about the
firearm. Tubbs said he didn’t have a firearm, and he didn’t shoot one.
When the officer asked the man if he was aware that there was a firearm
in the house, Tubbs said yes.
The officer detained the man in his patrol car while he gathered more information from the victim and witnesses. He later placed the suspect under
arrest and transported him to jail.
Tubbs is being charged with possession of a firearm after former felony
conviction and feloniously pointing firearm. He was released on a $2,500
bond and was scheduled to appear in court on November 15, 2016.

An Oklahoma City man and Hugo woman
were arrested during a traffic stop after they paid
the driver to transport them and their drugs to
Hugo on October 22.
The driver said he didn’t know the passengers,
later identified as 33-year-old Kevin D. Lathan,
and 34-year-old Sheen Marie Mays.
According to the affidavit, a state trooper
stopped the vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. at mile
marker 64 on the Indian Nation Turnpike because
the car had modified straight pipe exhaust and a
cracked front windshield. There were three passengers in the vehicle. The driver said he didn’t
know the couple riding in the back. They had just
paid him to take them to Hugo.
The trooper noticed that the backseat passengers kept moving around. He asked the driver if
there was anything illegal in the car. The driver
said no, and he gave the trooper permission to
search.
The trooper asked Mays what items in the vehicle belonged to her. She said there were two
purses and some bags in the trunk that were
hers. When the officer asked if she had anything
illegal, she told him she just had a meth pipe.
Lathan said he had a tan bag in the trunk, but
he didn’t have anything illegal on him.
The trooper located the woman’s pipe, which
still had some meth in it. He looked inside the Mays’s purse and found a scale
with meth on it, a pill container keychain with meth inside and a plastic bag
containing a white substance that the couple called “turkey dope.”
Inside of Lathan’s bag, the trooper found four used syringes that contained
a small amount of liquid, a digital scale with meth on it, a tourniquet, and 25
unused syringes. He tested the scales and one of the used syringes -- they
all tested positive for meth.
The trooper placed them under arrest and transported them to jail.
During booking, a detention officer found a bag containing a pink crystal
substance in Mays’s underwear. It later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Mays is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, bringing contraband into jail/penal institution and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lathan is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Their bonds were both set at at $10,000, and they are scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2016.

Jailbirds.rocks is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the
huge social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Stigler man William Richard Morris,
47, and his Okmulgee son, 25-yearold William Michael Morris, allegedly
illegally hunted deer during the month
of October.
According to the affidavit, an Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation officer received an anonymous
phone call sometime in early October
about some nighttime deer hunting
activity on a farm near Sans Bois. The
caller said a farmhand, identified as
the elder Morris, had shot two deer at
night, and was spotlighting between
8 p.m. and midnight. The caller also
advised the officer that the suspect
was a convicted felon.
The officer watched the property throughout the month, but he didn’t see
any evidence of illegal activity until 8:30 p.m. on October 22.
A game warden contacted him and said he heard several gunshots fired
west of the officer’s location on a farm. When he arrived at the farm, he
turned off his truck lights and saw two spotlights coming from a small utility
vehicle shining through some trees. He followed the vehicle as it came to a
stop beside the older Morris’s home.
The officer placed both men in handcuffs and noticed that there was a
freshly killed buck in the UTV bed. There were also two guns and two spotlights in the vehicle.
The officer asked them if they were convicted felons. Morris senior said
yes; his son said he was on probation.
The game warden arrived and questioned the men about the deer. Morris
senior admitted to spotlighting and shooting the buck in the UTV. He also
said there were two does in his freezer that he killed. Neither of the deer had
been checked in as required by law. Morris also didn’t have a valid hunting
license or any deer tags.
The senior Morris was issued citations for possession of firearm after former felony conviction, three counts of possession of illegal game/sale of
game, two counts of making or giving false statement or information to a
hunter check station, failure to tag hunted animal after kill, unlawful transaction for illegal game, and two counts of hunting from motor vehicle/ headlighting.
His son was given citations for possession of firearm while on felony supervised probation, possession of illegal game, hunting without a license,
and two counts of hunting from motor vehicle/ headlighting. They were both
issued personal recognizance bonds, and they are scheduled to appear in
court on December 20, 2016.

Both State Questions 780 and 781
passed on November
1. Do you think these
new laws will help or
hurt our justice system?
To refresh your
memory:
State Question 780
would reclassify certain offenses, such
as simple drug possession and property
crimes, as misdemeanors rather than
felonies. The reclassification of the drug
possession offense is intended to be applied to persons who use the drugs, not to those who are selling or manufacturing the drugs. The measure also would change the dollar amount threshold for property crimes charged as
felonies from $500 to $1,000.
The goal of this measure is to reduce the size of the state’s prison population and to reduce the amount of state
funds being spent on prisons. SQ 780 proposes to change Oklahoma statutes, not the constitution.
SQ 781 would create the County Community Safety Investment Fund. That fund would hold any cost savings
achieved by reducing numbers of people incarcerated—a decrease resulting from reclassifying certain property
crimes and drug possession as misdemeanors. The new In-vestment Fund would be a revolving fund not subject
to fiscal year limitations. Any savings or averted costs would be calculated by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services.
• For more detailed responses, see out Facebook page __________________________________________________________________
Molly E: Lmao y’all acting like our current system is working. Mental health issues and trauma are the driving
forces behind drug abuse. Just locking addicts up won’t help the cause of the problem. Making them felons just
guarantees that they won’t be able to get a decent paying job to try and turn their lives around and will be stuck in
a vicious cycle of poverty and drug abuse
Adam C: Mental health issues and trauma? Funny. Majority of people I used to know that are druggies didn’t
have mental health issues. They made the decision to do drugs and got hooked. I work with adults with legitimate
mental health issues and not one of them are like that. Maybe instead of making excuses for them let them take
responsibility for their actions.
Colton B: Can’t do the time,don’t do the crime.addiction is not a disease.its a choice
Skylar L: It’s going to be bad, very bad. Those who say it won’t make a difference must have a cushy little job
not in Law Enforcement. Smh
Judy H: No cushy job! House wife, mother, grandmother and raising my grandchildren! Just saying ! Skylar L
and no my husband is self employed and we have to work and save for everything we get.
Amy W: I found it interesting that those so opposed were linked to the money side. Felony charges for simple
possession is a positive change.
Michael M: Let’s see... you steal $800 worth of stuff to buy drugs and get caught with drugs you’re using
(and not enough to “distribute”) and both are misdemeanors. Yeah, that’ll help reduce crime.
Jessie V: They are going to be very bad. The current system isn’t necessarily working but the hidden items in
these two bills are going to make things a WHOLE lot worse. And seriously, who do you guys think is going to pay
for this? The state and the feds are react-text: 392 ... /react-text See More
Ann B: it will make crime worse . now they can have a small amount of drugs and get a slap on the wrist again
no matter how many times they are caught. The liquor one made it easier for people to shop lift booze with alcohol
content. it will be easier for kids to steal from Walmart.
Norm S: Forget “small” amounts - they can have LARGE amounts (up to 19g of METH!) and get a ticket and
walk away. 780 will have the same effect that the identical Prop47 had on California. It WILL make crime go up. 780
passed because of the ignorance of voters who think that people actually go to prison for the crimes addressed
by 780. 780 was nothing more than a money grab by Kris Steele and his “ministry” - to divert state money to their
pockets tax free.
Candace L: My hope is it will help people who do turn their lives around obtain gainful, legitimate employment by not having a felony on their record. Probably not a popular opinion here.
Britny E: I agree
Donna P: You send people prison in hopes they come out and become a productive member of society. They
come out as felons (I’m speaking on nonviolent crimes...drug addictions etc.) Then they have trouble with employment ..insurance...(car insurance runs background checks) apartments or housing ....the list goes on and on. They
continue to pay for their past. (Even though they have been to.prison and paid their debt to society) mental health
issue do not get resolved in the prison system..they keep them medicated to not have to deal with the issues. It is
a vicious cycle. I agree Molly E. Prisons are at max capacity because u have low crime assisted inmates in there
doing 10..15..and 20 years and petty crimes. Child molesters very rarely get sent to prison and if they do its for a
lot less time. There needs to be more resources to help with mental health issues and drug addictions that’s affordable. There needs to be more resources for people who have been incarcerated and especially for the ones that’s
been in for 10..15..20 years . Not just thrown out with no where to go or no resources. Most people being released
(not all but most) only want a second chance to prove themselves.

For some reason, Eufaula man Joshua Dewayne McNeely, 24, thought it would be a good
idea to throw food at officers while they were arresting another individual on November 5.
Wonder if he still thought that was such a great
idea when he was locked up behind bars?
According to the affidavit, a McIntosh County
deputy was helping a Eufaula officer escort an
individual from an apartment complex located in
the 300 block of J.C. Watts when he felt stuff hitting his shoulders and back. He turned around
and saw McNeely throwing what appeared to be
food at the officers from the upstairs walkway.
The deputy told McNeely to come down and
speak with him, but the man instead backed
away from the railing.
The deputy ran up the stairs in an attempt to talk to the man. McNeely
fled into a nearby apartment. The deputy entered the apartment and saw
McNeely walking toward the balcony. He ordered the man to stop and come
out of the apartment due to a juvenile female sitting between the two men.
McNeely just looked at the deputy, so the deputy grabbed the man by the
arm and exited the apartment.
McNeely smelled strongly like alcohol. He admitted that he had been drinking.
After the deputy finished assisting the officer with the investigation, he
transported McNeely to jail. When he arrived, an officer who was still on
scene advised him that McNeely had entered the apartment without permission, and the tenant living there didn’t know him.
The officer spoke to the tenant, who said McNeely scared his daughter,
and he wanted to press charges against the man.
McNeely is being charged with assault and battery upon a police officer,
breaking and entering dwelling without permission, obstructing officer and
public intoxication. He was released on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on January 5, 2017.

Four hunters were recently found guilty of
illegal hunting practices during an episode of
“Crosshairs”, a hunting show hosted by Kris
and Clay Hair on the Hunt Channel.
Gillette game warden Dustin Kirsch presented the case at the tail-end of the two-day
Wyoming Game and Fish Commission meeting held at the Best Western Sheridan Center
Wednesday and Thursday.
Kirsch went through the facts of the case,
revealing the hunting misconduct of four individuals — two while in Gillette for a hunting
show and two from Oklahoma hunting under Lamb’s address.
The Hairs host a show, “Crosshairs”. Steve Lamb appeared on the show
and allowed the Hairs to hunt in the area. In the show, Kris Hair downs two
antelope with a bow, as well as two cottontail rabbits. She downed the
beasts without an archery license and eventually was fined $125, with an
additional $125 for hunting small game without a license.
Kirsch made contact with Oklahoma Game Warden Mark Murray to help
with the investigation. The two conducted interviews of the folks simultaneously. Lamb is the owner and operator of Northwest Extreme Outfitters,
a fishing tackle company out of Gillette. Lamb was fined $225 for hunting
in the wrong area with the Hairs during the production.
Lamb was also connected to Austin and Richelle Easley. Richelle was
employed by Lamb. In the spring of 2015, Richelle became a field staff
member for Rockstarlette Bowhunting, a female-owned company that
strives to empower women who are passionate about the outdoors and
bowhunting.
Lamb was with Richelle Easley when she shot a buck antelope hours
after Kirsch contacted them. Richelle Easley, out of Oklahoma, was issued
two warnings, was fined $300 for taking a buck antelope without a license
and had hunting privileges suspended one year.
She also left the buck in the field and did not return to retrieve it, costing her $420 in fines, $3,000 restitution to the Wyoming Game and Fish
Department, and hunting privileges suspended for one additional year.
Richelle Easley was forced to forfeit her buck antelope head and cape.
Her now husband, Austin Easley, also hunted in Wyoming under a resident license when in fact the Easleys live in Oklahoma. Austin was issued
three warnings and was fined $790 three times for false statement to procure a resident antelope license, owed three $250 payments of restitution to WGFD and was suspended from hunting, trapping and preference
point privileges for three years. Austin Easley, who also downed a deer,
was fined $400 and $274 of restitution to WGFD for his false statement to
procure a resident general deer license.
The eventual confession from the Easleys came when they contacted
Murray two days after the initial investigative interview.
