Muldrow man Dewey Lynn Towe,
38, was arrested November 15 after
he punched his father in the face and
spit blood on an officer.
According to the affidavit, Towe’s
father went to a neighbor’s to use her
blood pressure machine. While he
was there, Towe arrived and was “extremely irate and acting in a manner
[the neighbor] had never seen.” When
the neighbor asked Towe to leave, he
started cursing at her. When his father told him to leave, he hit him in
the face with a closed fist. The woman
called for help, and a man held Towe
down until police arrived.
Police arrived to the residence in the 17800 block of Jones around
6 p.m. to investigate the disturbance. They found a man and an off
duty Pocola police officer trying to hold down Towe in the front yard.
Officers attempted to handcuff Towe, but he refused to give them his
hands.
When an officer asked the man what was going on, Towe replied,
“F--- off.” He told the officer nothing was going on.
Towe continued to yell and curse, and officers placed him under
arrest and took him to a Spiro police vehicle. When they reached
the police vehicle, Towe began to pull away and refused to get in the
backseat. Officers forced him into the backseat, but it involved a scuffle that included Towe spitting blood onto an officer and all over the
cage of the vehicle. Fortunately, the blood landed on the officer’s shirt
and not on his skin.
Towe was transported to jail.
Towe is being charged with domestic abuse - assault and battery.
He is scheduled to appear in court on December 1, 2014.

A racist Hugo man was arrested on November 20 after he allegedly shot at a UPS
delivery man who was just trying to give him
a package.
According to the affidavit, a Choctaw County deputy was dispatched to the 1400 block
of E. Duke shortly after 9 p.m. to talk to UPS
employees about someone pointing a gun at
them. The men said they went to a residence
in the 1000 block of N. 4240 to deliver a package. One of the men said he knocked on the
door and left the package near the front door.
As he walked back to the truck, 61-year-old Albert Ray Harris
walked outside and said, “Who the f--- do you think you are to pull
into my property?”
When the man told him to look at the side of the UPS truck, Harris
replied, “I don’t care who the f--- you are. Get your n----- ass off my
property. I got this for you.”
He then pulled out a silver pistol, pointed it at the man and shot
at him once.
The deputy went to Harris’s residence to discuss the incident. Harris said he heard someone knock on his door around 9 p.m. When he
went to see who it was, he saw a “black guy” walking to a UPS truck.
He said he asked the man, “who are you?” The man replied, “Look
on the side of my truck.”
Harris said he went back inside his house, grabbed a pistol and
fired a shot into the air. He didn’t say why he thought it was necessary to shoot at the UPS man.
The deputy asked him how much he had had to drink. Harris told
him two mixed drinks.
The officer placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
Harris is being charged with feloniously pointing a firearm, reckless conduct with firearm and carrying a firearm while under the
influence. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on December 16, 2014.

A Keota man who was arrested for biting his
wife’s ear off tried to get out of being arrested
by bribing an officer with marijuana.
Guess what? It didn’t work.
According to the affidavit, a Keota police was
dispatched to the 300 block of SE Broadway
around 8 p.m. November 14 due to a domestic violence call. When he arrived, he spoke to
Patsy Jean Harris, 31, who was at a neighbor’s
house. She told him James Robert Harris, 37,
had bitten her ear off.
She said her husband came home drunk and
she met him at the door with a bat and told him
to leave. When he refused, she said she pushed
the bat into his face, and he threw her down
on the couch and bit off some of her ear. The
woman told officers that Harris was at their
house.
As police approached the residence, they noticed the kitchen door was open. They saw Harris throwing stuff out of the refrigerator into
the driveway. He had also thrown the kitchen table outside.
As an officer placed Harris in handcuffs, he noticed the strong smell
of alcohol. He asked Harris how much alcohol he had consumed. Harris simply replied, “I’m drunk.”
On the way to jail, Harris told the officer, “I have something for
you.” He then dropped a small bag of marijuana into the front seat
through the cage. He told the officer, “I can get you 2 ½ pounds of
that if you drop the charges.”
Patsy Harris was also arrested and transported to jail.
Patsy Harris is being charged with domestic assault and battery in
presence of minor. She was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 2, 2014.
James Harris is being charged with domestic assault and battery in
presence of minor. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 4, 2014.

A Red Oak man caught driving
down the center of the road with
a loaded gun riding shotgun was
taken to jail November 16 after sobriety tests were just a little too difficult for him to complete.
According to the affidavit, a Latimer County deputy was patrolling
northbound on Bull Hill Road at
approximately 9:30 p.m. when he
saw a tan truck driving down the
center of the roadway. He stopped
the vehicle and made contact with
the driver, 34-year-old Courtney
Eugene Elliott.
When he asked Elliott for his
driver’s license, the deputy noticed
a rifle with four rounds loaded in the magazine next to Elliott in the
front passenger seat. Elliot was speaking rapidly, and he tried to
hand the deputy a business card instead of a driver’s license.
The man followed the deputy to the patrol vehicle while the officer
checked his license. Elliott didn’t smell like alcohol, but the deputy
asked if he would take sobriety tests. Elliott agreed, and it was soon
apparent that even though Elliott might not be under the influence
of alcohol, he was under the influence of something.
During the tests, Elliott had trouble responding to and following
instructions, he kept swaying back and forth, and the officer had to
repeats instructions for the tests multiple times.
The deputy placed Elliott under arrest and took him to jail.
Elliott is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of drugs and carrying a firearm while under the influence. He was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on December 4, 2014.

An Oklahoma City woman
was caught while allegedly
trying to deliver contraband
items to an inmate on November 25 when her vehicle
got stuck in some grass in
front of the Oklahoma State
Penitentiary.
According to the affidavit, a
Pittsburg County deputy was advised by dispatch that there was an
SUV stuck in a grass area across from the main gate of the OSP shortly
after midnight. Contraband had been found in the back of one of the
state’s trucks parked near the stuck SUV. When the officer arrived, he
saw Shavony Lashell Anderson, 27, sitting in the vehicle.
Officers on scene told him they found two styrofoam cups standing
upright in the bed of one of the state’s trucks near the SUV. One of the
cups contained several small bundles wrapped around a green leafy
substance, and the other contained cell phones, chargers, a bundle
of what appeared to be methamphetamine and a bundle of what appeared to be marijuana.
While on scene, police found two cell phones in Anderson’s possession. One of the cell phones had a background photo of a male in
prison clothes. An OSP employee identified the man in the photo as a
current OSP inmate.
An officer asked Anderson if he could look through her phones. She
agreed, and while he did so, she told him she was speaking to a friend
on the phone because she was trying to go to her friend’s house and
was lost when she got stuck.
When officers asked her to call her friend back to verify the story,
she couldn’t get hold of her. She was also unable to give police her
friend’s last name. The call logs in both of Anderson’s phones had
been cleared.
Police also found a receipt showing that Anderson had purchased
three phones the day before. She was arrested and transported to jail.
Anderson is being charged with conspiracy to deliver contraband
into penal institution. Her bond was set at $10,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on December 4, 2014.

A Clayton man known for running
from police, not surprisingly took off
running again when police tried to arrest him on November 21.
He wasn’t fast enough.
According to the police report, a
Pushmataha County deputy was dispatched to Clayton to assist a Clayton
police officer and state trooper with
arresting 39-year-old Michael Hilliard
for a domestic dispute. Hilliard was
known to run from police and fight
when arrested.
When officers arrived at the residence, they saw a man in the backyard using a skill saw. One of the
officers yelled at the man and asked him if he was Michael Hilliard.
The man said yes.
When an officer told Hilliard to put his hands on a truck parked in
the backyard, Hilliard dropped the saw and took off running toward
the house. He ran inside the house and out the front door. The deputy
ran after Hilliard and tackled him about a block later.
Hilliard continued to resist and tried to get on his feet, but the officers were able to place him in handcuffs. They asked him if he had
anything illegal on him. He said no, just some cigarettes and stuff.
He was lying.
The trooper found a piece of folded up tinfoil in Hilliard’s pocket. He
asked him what was in the foil. Hilliard told him it was meth.
Hilliard is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous
substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an
officer and attempting to elude a police officer. His bond was set at
$10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 10, 2014.

Coalgate man Zackree Evan Micheal Aaron, 24, was taken to jail
November 15 after he admitted to driving while under the influence
of several drugs.
Shortly after 7 p.m., a Coalgate officer was advised that a silver
vehicle was headed into Coalgate city limits, driving erratically and
recklessly, according to the affidavit. The officer located the vehicle
and watched as it crossed the centerline and left the roadway several
times.
The officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 3 just past Highway 43
East. He made contact with the driver, Aaron, and asked him for his
license and proof of insurance. Aaron told the office his license was
suspended and he couldn’t find his insurance. The officer asked him to step out of his vehicle.
Aaron was very unsteady on his feet and was unable to stand on his own.
When the officer asked him if he was on any kind of medication, Aaron admitted to taking Tramadol and muscle relaxers, and smoking some K-2 (synthetic marijuana) earlier that
evening. The officer placed Aaron under arrest and transported him to jail.
During an inventory of the man’s vehicle, the officer found a pipe and bag of K-2 in the
center console.
Aaron is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and
driving with license suspended. He was released on a $3,300 bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on December 12, 2014.

In July of 2006, skeletal remains were discovered on
rural property in the area of Bailey Road and Sandhill Road
in Bray. DNA testing confi rmed the remains are those of
Rose Bagley, 55, of Lindsey. She was reported missing
by family members in May 2006. The Stephens County
Sheriff ’s Offi ce requested OSBI agents help investigate the
homicide case. Investigators spent the next several years
running leads.
Due to severe drought conditions, more remains were
discovered this March in an area pond. This evidence could
prove crucial to the investigation. Agents have had that
pond drained to search for evidence in the case.
Numerous OSBI agents, Stephens County Sheriff Offi ce
deputies, a forensic anthropologist with the Medical
Examiner’s Offi ce, and an archeologist with OU’s Crime
Scene Archeology Recovery Group will spend several days
in the area where Ms. Bagley’s remains were discovered.
The dig began the morning of Nov. 12.

A Durant officer thought something might be wrong when
he saw 24-year-old Darryl Wade Armstrong just standing on
a sidewalk, staring at the sky.
He was right; the Durant man was in possession of some
illegal items.
According to the affidavit, the officer was on patrol in the
area of S. Fourth Avenue and Lost Street on November 23
shortly after 5 p.m. when he saw a man step out of the alley, carrying a sack. All of the surrounding businesses were
closed. When the man, later identified as Armstrong, saw the
patrol vehicle, he quickly took off walking in the opposite direction. He then stopped and started looking up into the sky.
The officer sat at a stop sign for two minutes while Armstrong “acted as though he was busy looking at the signs and
rooftops of the surrounding business.”
The officer stepped out of his car, and Armstrong walked toward him. When the officer
asked him why he was standing outside the closed businesses, the man replied, “I don’t know
-- trying to decide which way to go.” When the officer asked him where he was trying to go,
he replied, “I don’t know.”
The officer noticed Armstrong was carrying a sack of clothing. He asked him if he had been
kicked out of his home. Armstrong once again replied, “I don’t know.” The officer, thinking
the man’s behavior was odd, asked him if he used pills. Armstrong admitted that he liked
using pills, but he said he hadn’t used them in several days. The officer asked Armstrong if he
could search his person. Armstrong said yes.
The officer found two small bags with a clear white residue in Armstrong’s pocket. When he
asked the man what was inside the bags, Armstrong said, “Dope residue.”
The officer placed Armstrong under arrest and took him to jail. Armstrong said he didn’t
sell drugs, he only used them. He explained that the two bags were just leftovers he’d forgotten to get rid of.
The residue field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Armstrong is being charged with possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at
$5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 14, 2015.

Atoka man David Wayne McPherson, 44, was arrested November 20
after a deer was shot (maybe by him,
maybe not), and police discovered he
was a felon in possession of a firearm.
Damn deer!
Shortly after 6 p.m., an Atoka police
officer was advised to be on the lookout for a black truck traveling toward
US 69 on Chickenfight Road. According to the affidavit, the caller said the
driver of the truck had possibly shot
at a deer.
The officer saw the vehicle pull up to
a stop sign and pull onto US 69 without using a turn signal. He stopped
the vehicle just south of Chickenfight Road and made contact with
the driver, McPherson.
McPherson told him he thought he had hit a deer, and he had
stopped to see if it was okay. He added that he had spoken to a man
down the road who thought he had shot at one. McPherson said he
didn’t shoot at anything.
The officer asked him if there were any weapons in the vehicle. The
man admitted there was a loaded rifle in the backseat. He added that
he didn’t know it was there until earlier, and he wasn’t supposed to
have a firearm.
The officer asked him why and McPherson said because he had a
felony. The officer verified that information, and he placed McPherson under arrest. The rifle in McPherson’s backseat had a 30-06
round in the chamber and 3 rounds in the magazine.
McPherson is being charged with possession of firearm after former felony conviction. He was released on a $25,000 bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on December 3, 2014.

Hello to all!
By the time you read this, you will
have probably made all your holiday travel plans, if you are going
somewhere, or have people coming to your home to celebrate. The
roadways will be extra busy, and with a lot of people traveling at the
same time, the chances for accidents also go way up. I’m going to
give a few tips on how to minimize your chances of being involved
in an accident, and some ways to help insure your holidays are safe.
Every year, we work a lot of accidents on people who are “running
late”. Speed plays a major role in accidents, as well as the severity
of an accident. Speed decreases reaction time, which a driver needs
to be able to react to anything that happens in front of them. What
is the best thing you can do to not be “running late”? Simply plan
your holiday travel a little in advance. You know what time you
and your family get off work, or get out of school, so plan your
departure time accordingly. Give yourself plenty of time for delays,
bathroom and snack stops, etc. Also, if you are running late, its
OK! The people you are going to see would rather you be late, than
not arrive at all because you were involved in an accident.
Another major factor in holiday accidents are a result of
celebrating, and then making a bad decision. I’m not going to tell
you not to enjoy your holiday, and if partaking in some egg nog or
other alcoholic drink is part of your celebration, that’s fine. Just
don’t decide to drive after you drink. Drinking and driving is a
decision, not an accident. Planning here goes a long way towards
a safe holiday. If you know you are going to drink, plan on staying
where you are, or have a designated driver.
Another thing you can do to stay safe is wear your seat belt. The
accident may not be your fault, and you may be doing everything
right, and could still end up in the hospital or worse, because you
didn’t have your seatbelt on. Even minor accidents can cause
significant damage to us if we are not properly restrained. Every
Trooper on the road has worked a fatality accident which we all
know in our heart would not have resulted in death had the person
been using a seatbelt. It takes no time to put on, but it may be the
most important thing you can do this holiday season.
To sum up, slow down and enjoy the holiday season! Plan ahead,
and use a designated driver or stay put if you use alcohol in your
celebrations. No one wants to spend the holidays in a hospital or
worse! Holidays are for celebration, so lets take care of ourselves
and each other.
Thanks for listening, buckle up and drive safe.

When Eufaula man Kendall Wade Williams, 46, was found asleep
in a car on a boat ramp with no pants on. His excuse was that he fell
asleep while changing.
Whatever you say, Williams!
On November 19 at 8:30 a.m., a park ranger saw a car parked in a
no parking area at No Name boat ramp. As he approached the car, he
noticed it was running and the driver’s seat was reclined back. In the
driver’s seat, he saw Williams lying back, naked from the waist down.
The park ranger knocked on the window several times before Williams finally woke up and rolled down his window. The park ranger
asked Williams why he was naked at the boat ramp. Williams told
him he fell asleep while he was changing clothes.
The ranger checked Williams’s information, and a McIntosh County deputy arrived to assist. When they returned to the car, Williams had gotten dressed.
The ranger asked Williams if he had anything illegal in the car. The man said no, but he
handed the ranger a box of miscellaneous pill bottles. In one of the bottles, there was a pill
that was different than the other pills in the bottle. It was identified as Tramadol.
The ranger placed Williams under arrest and took him to jail.
Williams is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and acts
resulting in gross injury. His bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on January 21, 2015.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we

Turning without a signal resulted
in the arrest of an Idabel woman after
police found drugs and paraphernalia
in her purse and, um, other places,
during a traffic stop on November 21.
According to the police report, a
McCurtain County deputy was on patrol on Old 21 Road south of Idabel
when he saw a vehicle make a right
turn onto the roadway shortly after 2
a.m without using a signal. The officer
pulled over the vehicle and made contact with the occupants. He wrote the
driver a citation for an open container
and no driver’s license. He then requested another officer bring his
K9 to the stop.
The dog alerted to the scent of narcotics in the car.
Police searched the vehicle, and they found a syringe with a substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine in a
purse in the backseat where Kaci Lea Ebert, 20, had been sitting.
They asked her if she knew what was in the bag. She said she did.
They then asked if the syringe was hers. She admitted that is was.
An officer placed her under arrest and put her in the backseat of
the patrol vehicle and asked her is she had anything else on her or in
the vehicle. She told him she had more in her, um, private area. She
pulled out a brown glass jar containing a crystal-like substance from
her hoohah.
She was transported to jail.
Ebert is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous
substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
December 30, 2014.
