During the recent OSBI Awards Ceremony, the Bureau recognized the stellar work
performed on a cold case homicide that
solved the mystery. Special Agent Amie
Gates and Cold Case Special Investigator
Clif Gann worked together to determine
who killed an elderly woman more than 30
years ago.
In March 1985, Roxie Webb was stabbed
and strangled to death inside her Guymon
home. The police department requested
OSBI investigative assistance. For years,
special agents followed leads, but the case grew cold; however, OSBI
special agents would regularly review the case.
Special Agent Amie Gates inherited the case and began working with
local law enforcement to remind them of the brutal murder of the elderly
woman. She also called upon Cold Case Investigator Clif Gann. The two
developed a lead through the Texas County Sheriff’s Office from an inmate. That inmate had been told of the murder by the man who said he
was involved. That information led to a witness who had been married to
one of the suspect. That man had since died, giving the woman confidence she could speak with law enforcement.
Information provided from those interviews, gave special agents names
and detailed information about the murder only the killers and investigators knew. A check with Vital Statistics showed all three men had died.
However, these agents presented a report to the district attorney. District
Attorney Mike Boring felt the evidence was so strong he issued a letter
indicating there would have been sufficient basis to file charges on the
three men.
The relentless efforts by Special Agent Amie Gates and expertise of
seasoned Cold Case Investigator Clif Gann finally put to rest a murder
mystery never forgotten.

Wilburton man Danny Charles Sullivan,
41, allegedly stole some lumber from a local
business then tried to burn it before he got
caught. But, it was too late.
According to the affidavit, the owner of
the business contacted police on December 25 and said when he arrived at his business, he noticed the lock to his gate had
been cut. After further investigation, it appeared as though someone had stolen a
boat trailer and approximately 40 pieces of
milled wood.
He was advised that the missing lumber
was at Sullivan’s residence. When he went
to investigate, he saw the stolen lumber
stacked up in the backyard. When the man returned to his shop later that
day, he said his trailer was sitting in front of his gate.
Sullivan agreed to meet with police about the lumber, but he never
showed up to the meeting. Officers went to his home on December 27 to
ask him about the stolen wood. Sullivan told police he got the lumber from
a guy in Wilburton, but he wouldn’t tell officers the guy’s name.
When a deputy told the man he knew the lumber had come from the
victim’s business, Sullivan refused to answer any more questions.
Sullivan’s mom said her son came home on the night of December 22
with a trailer full of lumber hooked up to her SUV. She said he told her that
he bought the lumber from a guy who owned a trucking company. He then
unloaded the wood in the backyard. After officers came to the house and
found the lumber, she said her son burned the wood.
An officer found a burn pile in the backyard of the residence that appeared to contain burnt pieces of the stolen lumber.
After Sullivan was booked into jail, police went to speak to the man who
supposedly sold him the lumber. The man said yes, he agreed to sell Sullivan some lumber, but Sullivan hadn’t paid him yet, and he wasn’t sure if
the man had picked up the wood.
Officers asked him what kind of wood he was selling the man. It wasn’t
the same kind of lumber found on Sullivan’s property.
Sullivan is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property. His
bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 21, 2016.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

My husband, Roger Lynn Johnston, was
arrested for Batter on Police Officer in February of 2016. We tried, unsuccessfully, to
have his photo and name withheld from
publication in Jailbirds at that time. Since,
all charges on my husband have been

A McAlester man allegedly buried a woman after he
found her unresponsive in his bed sometime in October.
53-year-old Christopher W. Winters was later arrested
for the crime after a concerned citizen went to police.
According to the police report, the victim’s family
reported her missing to police on November 5, 2016.
During the investigation, officers discovered Winters
had been stopped for a traffic violation on October 20,
and the woman was a passenger in his vehicle at the
time.
On January 10, a Pittsburg County officer contacted agents with the District
18 Drug Task Force and advised them he received a call from a concerned
citizen about the woman’s disappearance. Agents spoke with the person the
next day, who said that the woman had been at Winters’s home in the 1300
block of E. Wichita on October 20. The citizen thought the woman left the
residence, but Winters contacted the person in the early morning hours of
October 22 and advised that the woman was dead. Winters told the person
that he took a fentanyl patch off of the woman and flushed it.
Armed with a recording device, the citizen went to see Winters on January
11 and January 12. Winters told the person that the woman was “on that fentanyl,” and when he went to bed one night, he noticed the woman was cold
so he felt for a pulse -- there wasn’t one.
Officers arrested Winters on January 13 for narcotics violations and questioned him about the woman’s disappearance.
At first, he tried to deny everything, but he eventually told police his account of events and directed officers to the location where he had buried the
woman.
Winters is being charged with unlawful removal of dead body. His bond was
set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 3, 2017.

Adalberto Ramiro-diaz thought he was a smart criminal. Lots of dumb criminals think this, of course, but Ramiro-diaz could back it up: He had allegedly
been dealing drugs for a long time. This is quite an accomplishment because
the drug business is filled with risks: customers who want to cheat you, rivals
who want to rob you, cops who want to arrest you. How did he stay free for so
long? In July, according to TCPalm.com, Ramiro-diaz allegedly sold marijuana
and mushrooms to a customer. He let that customer in on the secret of his
success: “Adalberto bragged to me he had been doing this a long time and is
very smart about his narcotics transactions and that is why he has never been
busted. He said no one comes to his house without calling first and if someone
just shows up he will answer the door pointing a 9mm handgun at their head.”
Sounds smart! Unfortunately, this customer happened to be an undercover
investigator. Whoops! The alleged drug dealer was arrested in September.
In the summer of 2013, Anthony J. “Jimi” Lescowitch Jr. allegedly assaulted
a man, stole his ATM card, and ran away. He kept on running, apparently,
and the cops were having trouble finding him. So, in January 2014, the Freeland, Pennsylvania, police posted Lescowitch’s mug shot on Facebook, asking people to contact them with information on the suspect’s whereabouts.
To the cops’ surprise, one of the people who complied with their request was
Lescowitch himself, who immediately posted the photo on his own Facebook
wall along with an obscene comment. “lol I f---in love it A-----E,” he wrote according to Philly.com.
Reasoning that stupidity usually strikes twice, the cops sent Lescowitch a
Facebook message under the guise of an attractive woman, asking the fugitive
if he’d be willing to meet her for a drink. Lescowitch said no. (Very smart!) Well,
would Lescowitch at least be willing to come have a cigarette? Lescowitch
said yes. (Very stupid!) When Lescowitch showed up at the designated smoking spot, he was arrested—further proof that smoking is bad for you, I guess.
Later, the Freeland police posted a triumphant update on Facebook: “CAPTURED!!!!!! SHARES OUR STATUS ON FACEBOOK ABOUT HIMSELF, CAPTURED 45 MINUTES LATER.” The first comment on this new status: “One less
member at tomorrow’s Freeland MENSA meeting.” Indeed.
Wayne Wade should’ve stayed home. On July 30, the Florida man allegedly burglarized an apartment in the town of Hollywood only to encounter the
apartment’s tenant on his way out the door. “Uh-oh, now she knows what I
look like. I need to get out of here!” Wade presumably thought. So he fled,
only to realize that he had accidentally left his cellphone in the home he just
allegedly robbed. “Uh-oh, now the cops have my fingerprints and lots of other
incriminating data. I need to get that phone back!”
So he called his phone, maybe hoping that the person who answered would
see the humor in the situation and return it to him. Instead, the phone was
answered by a detective who was in the house investigating the burglary that
had just been committed there. According to the Sun-Sentinel, “Wade told the
cop his name and said he needed his phone back.” Instead, he was arrested,
and the fingerprints from his phone were used to tie Wade to five other unsolved burglaries. In court later that week, Wade told a skeptical judge that his
phone had been stolen. Uh-oh, no one believes my terrible excuse!

On January 21, 2017 at about 2:15
PM, the Haskell County 911 Center received a call reporting a male subject had
been shot in the chest at a location in rural
Haskell County near the City of Keota.
The Haskell County Sheriff's Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation conducted a joint investigation related to the shooting. It was discovered that James Earl Frames had shot a
male victim, fled on foot, and was still believed to be armed in the area.
After an extended manhunt, Haskell
County Deputies, Oklahoma District 18
Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force
Agents, Stigler Police Department, OHP Troopers, and an a Oklahoma
Game Warden, were able to locate Frames lying on the ground in a rural
wooded area. Mr. Frames was taken into custody without incident and
booked into the Haskell County Criminal Justice Center on the charges
of Shooting with Intent to Kill, Possession of Firearm after Former Felony
Conviction, and Disruption or Prevention of an Emergency Telephone Call.
The Haskell County Sheriff's Department also located the firearm near
the area of the shooting that is believed to be the alleged weapon.
The victim is currently in stable condition.

Eufaula woman Natasha Nicole Henson, 23, allegedly broke a window and punched a dog during
an altercation with her baby daddy on January 4.
According to the police report, a Haskell County
deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 800
block of SE J Street at approximately 6 p.m. to investigate a disturbance. When he arrived, he saw
a woman and a man standing on the front porch.
The woman, identified as Henson, was screaming
profanities.
The deputy told Henson to calm down and asked
her what was going on. She told him she didn’t want
to leave her baby with the baby’s dad, and they were kicking her out. Henson said she and her baby daddy hadn’t been to court for guardianship
over the child yet, but she wasn’t leaving the property without her baby.
While speaking to the woman, the deputy noticed that there was blood
running down her arm. She told him a dog inside the residence had bitten
her.
The deputy then spoke to the occupants of the residence about the incident. One of the men told him that Henson followed another man inside
the house while “causing trouble and cussing.” He said his dogs started
barking, so Henson punched one of the dogs, causing it to bite her.
After that, the man grabbed the woman and shoved her out of the residence, but it wasn’t enough to calm her down. She then broke the window
next to his front door and refused to leave his property.
Everyone else who was at the residence when the incident occurred told
the deputy the same account of events.
The deputy placed Henson under arrest and transported her to jail.
Henson is being charged with malicious injury to property under $1,000
and disturbing the peace. She was released on a personal recognizance
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 6, 2017.

A 34-year-old Checotah man was
locked up after he allegedly threatened his
ex-girlfriend with a knife after locating her
at a friend’s house on January 3.
According to the police report, the victim
made contact with a Checotah officer to
report that her ex-boyfriend, identified as
Scott Alan Bahe, had come to a residence
in the 200 block of NW Sixth Street where
she was visiting some friends and harassed her. The victim and her friends said
that Bahe started yelling at them and kicking the door. When one of them went to
the door to see what he wanted, she said
Bahe was holding a knife and demanded
that his ex-flame come to the door.
The victim said Bahe told her to come outside because he had something for her.
Two other witnesses told the officer Bahe was holding the knife as
though he was planning on stabbing someone, and he kept insisting that
the victim come to the door.
The officer located Bahe and placed him under arrest shortly after 3 p.m.
When they arrived at the police department, the officer asked the man if he
wanted to tell his side of the story. Bahe instead told the officer he wasn’t
going to talk to him, so the officer transported him to jail.
Bahe is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and placing an obscene/threatening/harassing phone call. His bond was set at
$10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2017.
