Heavener man James Joseph Aguilar,
26, was locked up for allegedly shooting a
van while riding shotgun in a car on June
5.
According to the police report, a woman
advised officers shortly after 9 p.m. that
someone shot at her husband and brother.
The men were unharmed.
A Poteau officer spoke to the victims.
They said they had been involved in a road
rage incident earlier that day.
Around 9 p.m., the woman told them
Aguilar was circling her house. The men
went to the location and saw Aguilar
parked out front. He pulled in front of the
car -- the car drove in front of the van, and
the men heard a gunshot and something hit the van.
The officer found a bullet hole in the lift gate of the van.
At approximately 10:49 p.m., the officer was advised that a deputy stopped
the suspect vehicle and located a black revolver under the front passenger
seat where Aguilar had been sitting. There was also a single .22 round in the
floorboard. The man’s wife said she saw her husband stick something out of
the window when they passed a van on North Avenue, but she didn’t know
what it was.
Aguilar told police earlier that day, he started arguing with the victims while
driving through Heavener. He said later that day, he went to a man’s house on
North Avenue in Poteau. He said the man who lived there was named Collins.
While he and his wife were still in their vehicle, a van drove by and someone
threw a crowbar out of the window. Aguilar said he caught the crowbar and
threw it back at the van.
When the officer said they never located a crowbar, Aguilar then said the
alleged weapon was a lugnut wrench.
Aguilar told the officer he only carried the gun to shoot snakes, and he had
been at Wister Lake earlier that day. He denied shooting at the van.
Officers went to the house in Poteau where Aguilar said he was visiting Collins. There was no one there named Collins, but the homeowners said they
were friends of the victims.
Aguilar is being charged with use of vehicle in discharge of weapon. His
bond was set at $95,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June
30, 2016.

Wilburton man Derek
Morgan Rogers, 23, went
to jail after he allegedly attacked his grandmother on
the morning of May 29.
According to the police report, a Latimer County deputy was dispatched to the
400 block of SE Damon Valley Road to investigate the
assault. The victim told the
deputy that her grandson
started “fussing and arguing” around 3 a.m. At some
point, the fussing and arguing escalated, and the victim said Rogers headbutted her.
The woman also told police that Rogers said he was
going to kill her if she called the cops. The victim’s grandson had something in his hand at the time -- she said it
was maybe a knife -- and he jabbed it in her hand, causing her to bleed.
The deputy noticed a small cut on the woman’s finger.
The victim explained that Rogers had been doing drugs,
and he needed help because “he’s crazy.” She said she
was too scared to be at home, so she fled to another
house where she called the police.
The deputy was unable to immediately locate the suspect, but later that day around 6:48 p.m., another officer
advised that he found Rogers at his grandmother’s home.
The officer placed the man under arrest and transported
him to jail.
Rogers is being charged with assault and battery with a
dangerous weapon and threaten to perform an act of violence. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 21, 2016.

ADERHOLT
Indianola man Virgil Aderholt, 71, was locked up after
he allegedly shot a man during a drunken scuffle for a
revolver on June 8.
According to the affidavit, a Pittsburg County deputy
was dispatched to the 300 block of Seminole in Canadian Shores shortly after midnight. He was advised a
man had just been shot in the stomach outside of his
residence.
The deputy couldn’t locate the victim, but he did
speak to the victim’s neighbor, identified as Aderholt.
Aderholt said he was with the victim earlier that evening, but he hadn’t seen him in awhile. He said he never
heard an argument or a gunshot.
A white SUV then drove by -- the victim was the driver. The deputy stopped
the vehicle and asked the victim why he didn’t pull over. The victim said he
wasn’t sure who was at his home, and he didn’t want to go to jail.
While speaking to the man, the deputy noticed what appeared to be a gunshot wound on the right side of his stomach. The victim said he, Aderholt and
some other people were in his backyard drinking. At some point, Aderholt
pulled out a revolver and said he was going to shoot one of the party guests.
The target took the gun from Aderholt, and then pointed the gun at the man.
The victim jumped between the two men and tried to get the gun. While they
were wrestling for the firearm, it went off, shooting the victim in the stomach.
The man’s friends then took off running and left the residence.
A woman who was drinking with the men told the deputy that the three men
started wrestling for the gun. She heard a gunshot and saw one man run off
into the woods and Aderholt went home.
Shortly after 1 p.m., Aderholt went to the sheriff’s office and told a deputy he
thought he may have shot someone the night before. Aderholt claimed that he
shot the victim out of self-defense. When the deputy told him his account of
events didn’t match what others had told him, Aderholt admitted that he had
been really drunk, and he wasn’t sure what happened, but he couldn’t find his
gun.
Aderholt is being charged with feloniously pointing firearm. His bond was set
at $20,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 24, 2016.

The Oklahoma
Internet Crimes
Against Children
Task Force wants
parents to exercise
caution when allowing children to use
those devices.
In 2015, nearly 1,000 instances of child sexual exploitation were reported to the OSBI
through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Cybertipline,
with each case involving the use of computers, apps, chats, or social media.
Parents are urged to consider the following tips:
• Monitor your child’s usage of electronic devices such as cell phones,
tablets, readers, web cams, and laptops, as well as their usage of apps,
games, and social media accounts. Do not allow this usage to be private.
Instead, children should use these in open areas of the home, such as the
living room or kitchen.
• Although strangers are a threat, oftentimes children are exploited by
people they know. A large number of child pornography images are taken
by the children themselves and sent to others they know or think they know.
• Utilize device and software parental controls, as well as safety features
available for your children’s devices and apps. Parents are also encouraged
to communicate openly about online activity with their children.
Young people should be able to identify risky behavior and know what to
do if something bad happens. It is important parents and guardians remain
approachable about this topic – kids should never fear a parent’s reaction
more than they fear the misbehavior and/or consequences of people online.
Ask your child:
• Where do you spend most of your time online?
• What is your favorite app or video game right now?
• Who do you game or communicate with the most?
• How do you decide who gets to follow or friend you?
• What do you share, post, download, upload, and view?
• Can I review your profile with you?
• What would you do if you encounter behavior or communication that
makes you uncomfortable?
If your child is the victim of sexual misconduct online or you observe this
type of behavior, immediately report the incident to www.cybertipline.com,
the OSBI, or local law enforcement.

A Woodlawn, Tennessee, woman was locked up
after she allegedly threw a chair at a man, then led
police on a car chase on June 15.
According to the affidavit, a McIntosh County deputy was dispatched to a residence west of Eufaula
to investigate a possible assault and battery in progress. On the way to the scene, the deputy passed
a vehicle with a female driver. Dispatch advised him
that 36-year-old Dawn M. Trembley had just fled the
scene.
The officer turned around and followed the woman,
but Trembley was traveling at an “extremely high rate”
of speed while going north on C.R. 4150. She approached the intersection of Highway 9 and C.R. 4150, but she didn’t stop
or slow down -- she blew through the intersection at an approximate 75 to
80 mph.
The woman continued down C.R. 4150, and the deputy reached speeds up
to 90 mph just trying to keep up with her. She turned east onto Airport Road
and continued to drive at a right rate of speed, then turned north on Coon
Creek Road and accelerated again.
When she turned west onto Coon Creek Drive, the deputy waited at the
intersection for more units to arrive for backup.
Officers were unable to immediately locate the woman.
The victim told police that he and Trembley started arguing, and the woman
threw a chair at him. He had several red marks and scratches on his arm and
hands.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a Eufaula officer advised the deputy he had located the
woman at a residence in the Coon Creek edition. Although Trembley continued to resist being arrested, officers placed her in handcuffs and took her to
jail.
Trembley is being charged with endangering others while eluding/attempting to elude police officer, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Her bond was set at $20,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
August 24, 2016.

Three people were arrested on June 8 after a
District Attorney investigator raided their home
and found drugs and paraphernalia.
According to the affidavit, the District 18 Drug
and Violent Crimes Task Force went to the Stigler
home of 22-year-old Danielle Kaylyn Bowers in the
800 block of NW F Street. When they arrived, a
car pulled into the driveway. Tulsa man Tyson Lavon Martin, 35, stepped out of the driver’s seat,
and Bowers exited from the passenger’s side.
The agents informed the couple they were there
to conduct a narcotic search warrant. One of the
agents asked if anyone was inside the residence.
Martin told him 25-year-old Thomas Ray Bumphus was inside.
During a search of the residence, police found
marijuana, methamphetamine and paraphernalia,
including pipes, digital scales, clear baggies and
several cellphones.
All three adults were placed under arrest and
transported to jail.
Martin is being charged with intent to distribute,
possession of controlled dangerous substance,
possession of CDS in presence of minor under 12
or within 1,000 feet of park or school and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was
set at $250,000.
Bumphus is being charged with distribution of
controlled dangerous substance including possession with intent to distribute, possession of
controlled dangerous substance, possession
of CDS in presence of minor under 12 or within
1,000 feet of park or school and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at
$250,000.
Bowers is being charged with distribution of
controlled dangerous substance including possession with intent to distribute, possession of
controlled dangerous substance, possession
of CDS in presence of minor under 12 or within
1,000 feet of park or school and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $100,000.
They are all scheduled to appear in court on June 27, 2016.

For a trio of drug thieves, it was their lucky day. They broke into a home in
Silver Springs, Florida, and discovered three jars of cocaine. They took it home
and snorted the contents. That’s when they discovered that the jars were in
fact urns, and that they were snorting the cremains of the victim’s husband
and two dogs.
When an attempted robbery at a Lowes Home Improvement store went
awry, Milton J. Hodges fled across the street and jumped a fence … right into
the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort & Spa. As the Orlando Sentinel pointed out,
“As one of the only folks wearing clothing,” Hodges was easily spotted by
police.
It’s the worst possible time to faint—in the middle of robbing a bank. But
that’s what happened to a Beavercreek, Ohio, thief. The teller called 911 and
asked for medics. But you have to applaud the man’s stick-to-it-iveness. While
the ambulance was en route, the suspect handed a note to the teller demanding all her cash.
The victim’s jewelry was missing, the electronics were gone, and a window
was smashed. No wonder she was hysterical when officer Charanjit Meharu of
the Calgary police arrived. Then her French-speaking father called. Speaking
in French, she explained that it was all a scam in order to get the insurance
money. What she didn’t suspect was that Officer Meharu speaks six languages, including French.
A 12-year-old boy adamantly denied having stolen an iPhone when questioned by police at his home. And then the iPhone rang in his closet. Okay, yes,
he stole that. But as for the Blackberry he was also accused of stealing, he
double-adamantly denied… *RING!!*
Don’t you hate it when you suffer a heart attack and think you’re going to die,
so you confess to a 17-year-old murder, only to find out you’re not going to
die and then get sentenced to life in prison as a result? Yeah, so does James
Washington, of Nashville, because it happened to him.
Following a dispute, Craig Aylesworth, of Bithlo, Florida, allegedly tossed a
Molotov Cocktail at his neighbor’s trailer home … just as the winds shifted,
sending embers on to his own trailer. Luckily, he was arrested, since he no
longer had a home of his own to return to.
A San Francisco thief pedaled his bike up to a woman on the sidewalk,
snatched the iPhone out of her hands, and rode away. Unknown to him, the
woman was in the middle of demonstrating the iPhone’s new GPS tracking
device, which worked—the thief was captured minutes later.
Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni was impersonating a police officer when
he pulled over another car for speeding. The driver quickly sussed out that
Mastrogiovanni was fibbing since he, too, was a cop, but in his case, the kind
of cop who doesn’t have to pretend he’s a cop because he really is a cop.
Mastrogiovanni was arrested for impersonating a police officer.
How convenient! Only a few months earlier, an Iowa City, Iowa, man had his
driver’s license stolen. Then who should show up at the bar where he worked
as a bouncer, but the thief brandishing the bouncer’s very own license as his
form of ID.
Is there no honor among thieves? While two suspects were being questioned by Ogden, Utah, police about shoplifting from a store, someone broke
into their car and stole a stereo and several other items.
An El Paso, Texas, man busted into a church and absconded with the safe.
Safes are heavy, so he only got a few yards before dropping it on a neighbor’s
lawn, where he tried to crack it open. That’s when he was confronted by the
home’s occupant—a police officer.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep Stupid criminals
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
