Shady Point man Ramon Jontel
Birdo, 22, was arrested May 30 after
an officer stopped by his residence to
check about a vehicle.
According to the police report, the
man was hiding drugs and paraphernalia throughout the house.
A Shady Point police officer was
dispatched to a residence on Reagan
Street because a caller said there was
a truck parked in the road. The truck
was parked near a residence, so the officer knocked on the door to see why
the vehicle was in the roadway. When
he knocked, no one answered, but he
could hear people moving around. He knocked again, and Birdo
opened the door. The officer immediately smelled the odor of burnt
marijuana.
The officer asked him if there was any marijuana inside the house.
Birdo replied, “What marijuana?”
The officer pushed open the door and told everyone in the residence to step outside. A woman told the officer he couldn’t go inside
without a search warrant – he advised her he was securing the residence so he could go get one.
The officer returned to the residence at approximately 6:39 p.m.
Birdo came clean and told the officer he was hiding a bong, some
scales and some rolling papers behind the DVDs in the living room.
The officer found those items, along with a joint and marijuana
residue in the kitchen.
In Birdo’s room, the officer found a loaded gun, a marijuana grinder and a plastic box containing some marijuana stems.
Birdo admitted that the items were his.
He is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance in presence of minor and possession of firearm during commission of a felony. His bond was set at $7,500, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on July 7, 2015.

59-year-old Clyde Dale Brewer
was arrested after police found stolen items at his Red Oak residence
while executing a search warrant on
June 2.
Officers went to the man’s residence shortly after 7 a.m. and gave
him a copy of the search warrant.
During the search, officers found two
pill bottles with Brewer’s name on
them. The only problem was, there
were lots of pills missing from freshly filled prescriptions of Oxycodone
and morphine. Both prescription
were filled on May 27, 2015, for a total of 280 tablets.
There were only 44 pills left.
An officer looked through Brewer’s phone. According to the police
report, he found several text messages that he believed through his
training and experience were related to the sale of illegal substances.
While searching the man’s home and around his residence, another officer found a tool bag in the back of Brewer’s son’s truck. He
recognized the bag as an item that had been reported stolen out of
Haskell County by the Stigler Police Department.
The officer made contact with the burglary victim, and the victim
accurately described the bag and several tools in the bag. Brewer’s
son told the officer his father gave him the bag two days before. He
said he wasn’t sure where his father got the bag from, but he thought
he bought it.
Brewer was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
He is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on June 16, 2015.

A 70-year-old Coalgate man had an
interesting theory for why he stole gas
from a local store on June 5.
Jack H. Adcock told the arresting officer that if they didn’t want him to take
the gas, they shouldn’t have turned the
pump on.
According to the police report, a
Coalgate officer was dispatched to the
convenience store after an employee
called dispatch about a fuel thief. The
employee said a man pumped $25 into
his red car before driving off to a nearby
muffler shop.
The employee said the suspect was
still there.
The officer located the man, identified
as Adcock, and asked him if he pumped
$25 worth of gas from the store into his
car.
Adcock said yes.
The officer then asked him if he would go back and pay for the fuel.
Adcock said absolutely not. The man told the officer that he wasn’t going to and he didn’t
have to. After all, he reasoned, they shouldn’t have turned the gas pump on.
The officer told Adcock what he did was stealing. He warned the man that if he didn’t go
back and pay for the gas, the officer would take him to jail.
Adcock didn’t care – he told the officer to take him to the slammer, because he wasn’t paying. The officer kept his word and transported the man to jail.
Adcock is being charged with larceny of gasoline. His bond was set at $500, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on September 11, 2015.
Illogical logic
no payoffS aLLoweD
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

A Hugo woman threatened to kick her husband’s ass after they were
both arrested for drugs and paraphernalia on June 2.
Apparently she was angry because he didn’t man up and take responsibility for the items!
A Choctaw County deputy was on patrol when he saw a truck parked
on the north side of State Highway 109 near N4180 shortly after midnight. When he stopped to make sure everything was okay, a woman
jumped up from the backseat and exited the vehicle through the driver’s
door. She told the deputy she ran out of gas, and she had permission to
park and sleep there.
The deputy asked her if anyone else was in the car – she said no. When
he looked in the vehicle, he saw a man sleeping in the front seat, according to the affidavit.
He asked the woman, 35-year-old Ramonia Fitzpatrick, why she lied to
him. She said the man in the vehicle wasn’t her husband, and she didn’t
want to get in trouble.
The deputy placed her under arrest for obstruction.
By this time, the man, 37-year-old Michael Paul Fitzpatrick, was awake
and out of the vehicle. The deputy patted him down and asked who the
woman was. He said she was his wife.
The deputy was advised Michael Fitzpatrick had an outstanding Choctaw County warrant.
The deputy placed him under arrest.
Another officer arrived to assist, and they conducted an inventory of the couple’s vehicle.
The deputy found an iPhone box that contained a pipe with a white crystal substance and
burnt residue and a dirty Q-tip. The pipe field-tested positive for meth.
Both Fitzpatricks denied that the box belonged to them. Ramonia Fitzpatrick told the officer the box belonged to her husband, because he had an iPhone.
The unhappy couple had to be kept separated, because the woman was obviously pissed at
her man for not claiming ownership of the box. She told the deputy she was going to “kick
[her husband’s] ass.”
Ramonia Fitzpatrick is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled dangerous substance. Her bond was set at $8,000, and she is scheduled to
appear in court on June 30, 2015.
Michael Fitzpatrick is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession
of controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2015.

A Fort Towson man was arrested in Pushmataha County after he was caught on camera stealing stuff from an
Antlers business on May 27.
Ernest Dale Whisenhunt II, 25, allegedly stole items
from a local business and the city of Antlers while riding
on his bike.
On May 26, a man went to the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s and told a deputy he believed someone had broken
into his business. He said he was missing brass, copper,
stainless steel, aluminum machine stock, torches, wrenches, electrical tools and air tools.
The man set up cameras that night, because he believed
the culprit would be returning for more items; he was correct.
The camera caught Whisenhunt riding up to the business on his bike. He left when he couldn’t get the door
opened.
The next day, police went to Whisenhunt’s residence. The man, who had a history of
running from officers, didn’t disappoint. When they tried to question him about the burglary, he took off running.
Officers warned Whisenhunt that he was under arrest and if he didn’t stop running, he
would be bit by a K9.
He didn’t stop.
When the dog bit him, Whisenhunt said he gave up. But, when the dog stopped, he got
up and took off running again. Once again he was warned, once again he was bit, once
again he said he gave up, and once again he was on the run. Whisenhunt jumped on his
bike (that matched the bike in the surveillance video), but an officer caught up to him and
rear ended the bicycle.
Whisenhunt was placed under arrest, and in addition to the charges he accrued for the
burglary, was taken to jail for seven no bond warrants.
Police returned to his residence and found items belonging to the city of Antlers and
the burglary victim.
Whisenhunt is being charged with burglary in the second degree and receiving/concealing stolen property. His bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on June 17, 2015.

McAlester man Phillip Thomas Wesley, 35, allegedly bit his ex’s
hand during an argument at a friend’s house on June 6.
Apparently, she was holding a lighter, and she wouldn’t give it to
him.
Only makes sense to bite her, right?
Wrong.
According to the affidavit, a McAlester officer was dispatched to a
residence on South A shortly after 5 p.m., because a man had “bitten
off” a woman’s finger. The officer made contact with the victim, who
was crying and and bleeding from her right hand. She told the officer
Wesley bit her hand and took off running.
The victim said she and Wesley used to date. She was staying at a
friend’s house, and the finger biter had also stayed at the residence the night before. She said
they started arguing and asked him to leave.
The woman said she was holding a lighter and Wesley wanted it. When she didn’t give it to
him, he grabbed her hand and bit her. She told her friend to call the police, and Wesley then
fled the residence.
The victim had a bite mark on her hand and some swelling above her right eye.
The officer was unable to immediately locate the suspect. He was later advised the victim
had a fractured hand and would have to have surgery to repair it.
Wesley was later apprehended and transported to jail.
Wesley is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond was set at $25,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 26, 2015.

A Colbert man found himself locked up in jail after he drove to the fire
station on June 6 and threatened to hurt some Colbert police officers.
According to the affidavit, an officer was advised that a man had driven
up to the fire station and asked some people if there was an officer on duty.
The people said they weren’t sure, but they could call and check.
The man, 32-year-old Darius Lamar Lawson, then ripped off his shirt
and said he and his family in Amarillo were going to do whatever it took to
hurt some Colbert police officers that night.
Dispatch told the officer they received a call earlier that night from Lawson. He told them he was going to hurt the officers who “laid hands on
him,” and his Texas family was going to help him.
The officer found Lawson at a residence in the 200 block of Maple Street.
Lawson told the officer he and his family were going to kill some officers for “laying hands on him before and arresting him” for another incident.
The officer introduced himself and told the man he was new to Colbert. Angry Lawson said he didn’t
care – he kept repeating that he and his family were going to hurt some Colbert officers that night.
The officer placed the man in the patrol car. While he was talking to Lawson’s mom, he saw Lawson
kicking the glass out on the car. He ran to the car and asked the man why he was kicking out the window. Lawson said he didn’t give a “f---” about the patrol car.
The officer asked Lawson why he was so angry since they had never met before. Lawson just repeated that he wanted to kill the officers who arrested him.
When the officer told Lawson to stop tearing up property or he would be charged with it, the man
said he didn’t care.
Well, OK then! The officer transported the man to jail.
Lawson is being charged with malicious injury to property under $1,000 and endeavoring to perform an act of violence. Bond information and court date were unknown at time of print.

If you break up with 35-year-old Barbara Ellen Farrell, you’d better hide your firearms!
The Atoka woman was arrested June 1 after she allegedly broke
into the home of a recent ex and took some of his belongings.
An Atoka County deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of E.
Highway 3 to take a burglary report.
According to the affidavit, the victim told the officer he left his
house around 8 a.m. to go to work. When he returned at 10 p.m., he
discovered someone had been in his house while he was gone. Several guns that he said were stored throughout his home were missing. The man said he recently broke things off with Farrell, and he
thought she might be the culprit.
The deputy went to a residence in the 1900 block of South Haskell and made contact with
the woman. Police searched the home, and they found several of the missing guns.
The deputy advised Farrell she was under arrest. He asked her if there were any more of
her ex’s stolen items in the house. She gathered up some more stuff and handed it over.
The deputy placed Farrell in handcuffs and transported her to jail, and she admitted to
breaking into the victim’s home and stealing the guns.
Farrell is being charged with burglary in the second degree, knowingly concealing stolen property and possession of firearm after former felony conviction. Her bond was set at
$50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on June 17, 2015.
You break up with me?

A Haworth man seemingly obsessed with a sexual act
was arrested in the early morning hours on June 6.
According to the police report, a Haworth officer was
dispatched to the 300 block of East Arkansas Street
around 3:30 a.m. A woman said a man kept knocking
on her door yelling, “It’s Bob, let me in!” She said she
was too scared to look outside at the man.
The officer found Bobby Len Aston, 23, wandering
around two blocks from the residence. The officer asked
him what his name was. Aston replied, “What the f---
you want to know for?”
Aston smelled like alcohol, but when the officer asked
him how much he had had to drink, he said, “None of
your f------ business.”
The officer told him he was under arrest for public intoxication and to put his hands on the hood of the patrol
car. Aston told the officer he’d better not try to “butt f--
-” him like “cops do.”
The officer asked him if he had any drugs or anything
on his person. Aston said he had some dope. He then took off running.
The officer yelled for him to stop, but the chase didn’t last long. Aston tripped and fell in
the parking lot of a church. He resisted being arrested, but the officer eventually put him in
handcuffs.
Aston told the officer if he was going to “butt f--- him, he’d better suck his d--- first.”
During a search of Aston’s person, the officer found two marijuana pipes, some marijuana
and a can of beer.
Aston’s phone started ringing and he yelled at the officer to answer it. He also told the officer he was nothing but a “p---- behind a badge.”
On the way to jail, Aston told the officer to drive faster so he wouldn’t have time to pull over
and “butt f---” him. He kept trying to headbutt the officer, and he told the officer he was going
to “f--- him and his family up in a bad way.”
During booking, Aston told officers they’d better not try to “butt f---” him.
Aston is being charged with public intoxication, possession of controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer. He was released
on a $1,750 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 24, 2015.

By Lt. Jeff James

With all the water we have
received this year, there seems
to have been a large number of
drownings so far on Oklahoma lakes and waterways, the majority
of which could easily have been prevented. I am going to cover
some of the rules on wearing Personal Floatation Devices, as well
as some strong suggestions regarding them, in the hopes that we
can slow down this alarming trend!
First, let me just say that there are 5 types of PFDs. I’m not
going to get into their descriptions, just which types are required
for what situation. All PFDs must be U.S. Coast Guard approved,
and used in accordance with their label. The label will also state
the type. All vessels must carry one wearable (Type I, II, III,
or V) USCG approved PFD for each person on board or being
towed. In addition to that, vessels 16 feet in length or longer
must have one Type IV USCG approved PFD on board and readily
accessible. Oklahoma Law requires that all children under 13 years
of age wear an approved PFD whenever underway in a vessel less
than 26 feet in length. Each person on a personal watercraft or
sailboard must wear an approved PFD. Anyone being towed on
water skis or similar devices must wear an approved PFD. Ski belts
are not approved PFDs.
Now, besides being USCG approved, all PFDs must be: In good
serviceable condition. They must also be readily accessible. Readily
accessible means you must be able to put the PFD on in a reasonable
amount of time in an emergency. PFDs should not be stowed in
plastic bags, in locked compartments, or have other gear stowed on
top of them. They must also be of the proper size for the intended
wearer. Sizing for PFDs is based on body weight and chest size. A
good way to test this, especially for children, is to put it on, adjust
the straps, and have the wearer raise their arms up, and try to pull
it up off them. If it can come off, it is not the right size for the
wearer.
Those are the requirements, so now lets talk about the
suggestions. If you have children in or around water, make
sure they have a PFD on. Air mattresses, floaties, and other toy
floatation objects don’t count. There have been way too many
stories of toddlers near the water’s edge falling in and drowning,
and these could be prevented by following this suggestion. Also,
keep a watchful eye on those kids...even if they are only out of
your sight for a few seconds, its long enough for them to get in
trouble around the water. Last, wear one on boats even if you don’t
have to. In an emergency, you may not have enough time to put it
on. Thanks for reading, buckle up those PFDs and seat belts, and
be safe!

When a Checotah officer tried to make some friendly conversation
with a man on June 10, the man surprised him by saying he wanted
to shoot a specific officer.
Here’s a little hint, Steven Corey Ogle -- never threaten to shoot an
officer to another officer.
According to the affidavit, the officer was patrolling on Lakeshore
Drive when he saw the 44-year-old Checotah man walking down the
road around 8:30 a.m. He stopped to chat, and the two men talked
about the water level of the lake before Ogle dropped a bombshell.
He told the officer how another officer was doing bad things to him
and owed him a lot of money. Ogle said he was very unhappy with
the officer. He added that if law enforcement didn’t do anything
about it, he was going to shoot the man.
The officer told Ogle that he needed to let law enforcement handle
the situation.
Not surprisingly, the officer left the scene. He returned to the police department and discussed the conversation with another officer.
They agreed that Ogle should probably be taken into custody.
The officers went to the man’s residence. He seemed to be extremely agitated and his pupils were very constricted. An officer
asked him if he had taken any medication or done any illegal drugs
that day. Ogle said no.
The officer then asked him if he threatened to shoot a police officer. Ogle said yes.
Police placed the man under arrest and transported him to jail.
Ogle is being charged with threaten to perform an act of violence.
His bond was set at $1,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on August 14, 2015.
Threaten to shoot an
officer? Go to jail!
