When McCurtain man Cameron Dale Bowden, 26, saw police
officers coming for him on May 7, he tried his best to get away.
When that didn’t work, he tried to resist being arrested.
That still didn’t work.
According to the police report, LeFore County deputies were
advised that a wanted man, identified as Bowden, had been
spotted shortly after 12:15 p.m. Police found the man sitting in
a vehicle at the gas pumps at a business at the intersection of
Highway 59 and Highway 271.
Police approached the suspect vehicle. Bowden saw the officers and he tried to drive away. A deputy blocked the man’s path, and the car came
to a stop.
When Bowden started to exit his vehicle, police told him to get on the ground. He
refused and instead assumed an “aggressive posture.”
A deputy “helped” the man to the ground instead, but Bowden still resisted the
handcuffs.
Another officer told Bowden if he continued to resist, he would shoot him with the
pepper gun.
Bowden still refused.
When the deputy shot the pepper gun, Bowden grabbed his groin area, and a brief
struggle ensued. They eventually got the unruly man under control, and a deputy
conducted an inventory of his vehicle.
No wonder Bowden didn’t want police to stop him! Inside the car, the deputy
found a gun and a syringe containing a clear liquid that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Bowden is being charged with unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substance, possession of firearm after former felony conviction, driving a motor vehicle
while under the influence of drugs, resisting an officer and unlawful possession of
drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $43,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on June 2, 2015.

A Red Oak man was arrested May 15 after
he allegedly took a woman’s truck because
she wouldn’t give him a guitar.
Guitar? Truck? Yeah, that makes sense.
It seemed to make sense to 41-year-old
Ronnie Joe Calvin, anyways.
A Latimer County deputy was dispatched
to the 200 block of SW Oak in Red Oak at
approximately 8:50 a.m. to investigate the
theft. According to the affidavit, the victim
told the deputy that Calvin “burst” into her
home around 8:30 a.m. and demanded she
give him a guitar. She said she told him the guitar was at her sister’s
house.
Calvin wasn’t leaving empty handed, though. He grabbed the
woman’s truck keys, walked out of the house and drove her truck
away.
The victim’s son told police Calvin walked into his mother’s house
without knocking and asked for a guitar. He said she told Calvin she
put it up, so he grabbed her keys and said, “I’m gonna put your truck
up.”
The man said his mom told Calvin he was going to jail if he took
her vehicle, but he drove off anyways.
While the deputy was speaking with the victim, Calvin called her
cell phone. He told her that he was bringing the truck back, but she
informed him, “It’s too late! I told you not to take my truck or I was
calling the cops.”
Approximately 20 minutes later, the victim’s truck was parked
back in her driveway. The deputy found Calvin walking northbound
on NW First and Division Street. He placed the man under arrest.
Calvin agreed to speak to police, and he didn’t try to sugarcoat
anything. He told officers that he went to the victim’s house to get a
guitar. When she didn’t give it to him, he took her truck.
Calvin is being charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. His
bond was set at $1,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
June 2, 2015.

VANDALISM WARRANT
Hugo man Jimmy Don Wheeler, 31, was found in a stalled
truck on the shoulder of the US 70 Bypass in Hugo on May 16.
Although he needed help, he probably wasn’t too happy to see
the deputy -- he had used the truck in a robbery that occurred
about a week before.
The deputy found Wheeler after he noticed a truck on the
side of the road with its hazard lights flashing at approximately 11:34 p.m. He stopped to see if he could help the driver, but
he noticed the truck had been reported as being involved in
a burglary of some wood and lumber from a Grant business.
Wheeler was sitting next to the vehicle. The deputy recognized him as one of the suspects in the burglary.
According to the affidavit, Wheeler admitted that he and
another man had been working at the business. On May 10,
he said they took some wood and lumber and tried to sell it.
When they were unable to get rid of it, he said they put the stuff in a shed.
Wheeler later took the deputy to the shed, where the stolen items were located.
The owners of the truck Wheeler was driving arrived on scene. They told the deputy Wheeler did not have permission to drive the vehicle, and that he had been told by another deputy
not to drive it because it didn’t have insurance.
They consented to a search of the truck. The deputy found some paraphernalia and a pipe
that contained a white crystal substance. The substance later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Wheeler told the deputy the items belonged to his accomplice. He said earlier that day, a
spoon and syringe fell out from the driver’s side visor, and he threw them out of the window.
When he took the deputy to that location, however, they were unable to find the items.
The owners of the truck also accused Wheeler of stealing an A/C unit from their mother’s
residence.
Wheeler again blamed the theft on his accomplice.
Wheeler is being charged with two counts of burglary in the second degree, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled dangerous substance and failure to
comply with required compulsory insurance. His bond was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 30, 2015.

An Arizona woman has been charged after she allegedly took her
cop friend’s patrol car on a drunken fast food run.
Elizabeth Jean Moore is accused of driving the Maricopa County
Sheriff’s Office vehicle to a Jack-in-the-Box burger joint in Chandler
on Nov. 2, 2014, ABC15 reported.
The deputy’s wife was in the passenger seat, while two 12-year-old
girls were in the back.
Police busted Moore after she turned on the siren to show off for a
drive-thru worker.
She was arrested and her blood-alcohol level was found to be .11,
according to court documents. The legal limit is .08.
The 41-year-old was this week finally charged with two counts of
aggravated DUI in connection with the incident.
The deputy’s wife said her husband was not aware of what his squad car was being used for at the
time.
“The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of this issue, subsequently an investigation
took place and corrective action was taken,” MCSO spokesman Chris Hegstrom said.

Ada man Calvin Leon Brown, 24, was arrested in Coal County
because he allegedly stabbed his friend, who was taking him to
get a vehicle.
On May 16, a Coal County deputy was dispatched to the hospital investigate a reported stabbing shortly after 7 a.m. According
to the affidavit, the deputy met with the victim, the victim’s wife,
and the suspect’s girlfriend at the hospital.
The victim and his wife told the deputy they were driving
Brown and his woman to Coal County to get a vehicle for Brown.
Brown was sitting behind the victim, who was driving. The victim said they were traveling east of Stonewall on Old Highway 3,
when all of a sudden Brown freaked out. He stabbed the victim
in the neck and shoulder with a screwdriver and yelled, “Why
are y’all trying to kill me?” He then jumped out of the vehicle
and took off running.
Brown’s girlfriend was less willing to speak about the incident. When the deputy asked
her what happened, she told him she “saw nothing and had nothing to do with anything and
wasn’t even in the vehicle.”
The victim told the deputy he picked up the screwdriver and put it back in his vehicle after
the attack. The deputy looked in the truck, and he found the weapon behind the driver’s seat.
The victim positively identified the tool as the item Brown stabbed him with.
Brown is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at
$100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 4, 2015.

SELL BEER TO A MINOR
A paranoid Fruitland, Indiana, man high on meth
fought McAlester police after he called for help because
he thought someone poisoned him.
Jacob Wesley Patterson, 32, accused officers of not being the “real police,” but he was probably singing a different tune when they took him to the real jail.
On May 18, officers were dispatched to the area of 14th
and Carl Albert Parkway around 10:29 p.m. because a
man, identified as Patterson, said he had been poisoned
and someone was chasing him. An officer stopped Patterson’s vehicle, approached the man and asked him
what was going on.
Patterson was sweating profusely and his pupils were restricted. He refused to put
the car in park, and he told the officer, “You’re not the real police! F--- you!” He then
drove away.
After a couple of u-turns, Patterson stopped in a gas station parking lot. When
police pulled him from his vehicle, he started kicking and screamed that they weren’t
the police. They placed him in handcuffs and put him in a patrol car.
Before going to jail, an officer removed Patterson from the patrol car to check him
for weapons. Patterson seized the opportunity, and he started fighting and kicking
officers. They put him back in the vehicle, but the man wasn’t done. He kicked out
the passenger side window and stuck his head outside. When police again pulled him
out of the car, he started fighting again.
Medics were called, because Patterson’s chin was bleeding.
No one was safe from the man’s crazy antics, however, and he started spitting on
the people who were trying to help him.
When they arrived at the hospital, Patterson asked a nurse if the medicine she was
about to give him would hurt him. She told him no. He said he had been doing meth
all day, and he was afraid it would hurt him. When the officer asked him how much
meth he did, he replied, “Until I ran out.”
So that explains it!
Patterson is being charged with assault and battery on police officer with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on police officer, malicious injury to property under
$1,000, eluding/attempting to elude police officer and obstructing an officer. His
bond was set at $75,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 12, 2015.

Nohmer, 33, was just a passenger in a
vehicle an officer pulled over on April
12, but she went to jail when the officer
found a syringe in her wallet.
According to the affidavit, a Eufaula
police officer stopped the vehicle shortly
after 5 p.m. on Airport Road because all
three of the occupants weren’t wearing
their seat belts. When he approached
the vehicle, he noticed one of the passengers, identified as Nohmer, had tried
to buckle her seatbelt – it was hanging
over her shoulder.
The officer asked the driver if there was anything illegal in the vehicle.
The driver said no.
The officer then asked for permission to search the vehicle.
The driver said yes.
When Nohmer exited the truck, the officer noticed she was holding a
red purse and blue wallet.
The officer asked if the items were hers. She said the purse was, but
the wallet wasn’t.
The other passengers also denied that the wallet belonged to them.
Nohmer gave the officer permission to search the items. In the wallet,
he found a syringe. He placed her under arrest.
She agreed to speak to the officer, and she admitted that the syringe
was hers.
Nohmer told the officer that she had used the syringe before for methamphetamine, but he wouldn’t find anything in it.
Nohmer is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous
substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was
set at $25,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2015.

Franklin Edward Gilbert III, 30, was caught wearing a woman’s diamond ring he allegedly stole from
a Walmart employee when an officer confronted him
about the crime.
The Durant man was arrested after he admitted to
stealing a purse out of a locker on the morning of
May 15.
According to the police report, a Durant police officer was dispatched to the store in the 3700 block
of W. Main Street at approximately 10 a.m. to investigate the larceny. Dispatch advised employees had
located the suspect at the Murphy USA gas station.
The officer made contact with the man, who identified himself as Gilbert.
At first, Gilbert tried to act like he didn’t have a clue what the officer was talking
about. When the officer told him they has surveillance footage of him leaving the
store with the purse under his arm, Gilbert changed his tune. He told the officer,
“OK, I would like to get this over with.”
Gilbert said around 8 a.m., he took the purse from a locker and left the store.
He then walked to his residence in the 100 block of Sandpiper Circle and went
through the bag. The man also had a gold woman’s diamond ring on his left hand.
The officer searched the admitted thief, and he found a necklace, earrings,
loose change, a digital camera, a book of checks with a woman’s name on them,
keys and eight lottery tickets.
The officer asked him whose name was on the checks. Gilbert said he didn’t
know, but he assumed it was the lady who owned the purse. He told the officer he
bought the lottery tickets with money he found in the stolen purse.
The officer placed him under arrest.
A Walmart employee told the officer he saw Gilbert standing near the lockers
around 9:55 a.m.
He said he approached the man and asked if he could help him. Gilbert told
him he was looking for his locker. The employee said he didn’t recognize the man,
but Gilbert told him he started working there the week before. The employee said
he went to personnel to see if Gilbert was actually an employee, but when he returned, Gilbert was nowhere to be found.
Gilbert is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property and petit
larceny. His bond was set at $3,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
June 17, 2015.

Kansas City, Missouri, man William
Dante Douglas, 32, told an Atoka officer
he just had a small blunt in his vehicle
when the officer stopped him for speeding on May 9.
He actually had a lot more.
According to the police report, the
officer stopped Douglas near the intersection of Venita Allen Road and Lake
Road because the man was traveling 80
mph in a 70 mph zone.
Douglas didn’t have a valid driver’s
license or insurance on his vehicle. The
officer noticed a “faint odor” of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. Douglas also appeared to
be very nervous.
After he was advised that the man’s driver’s license was expired,
the officer placed Douglas under arrest. He searched the man and
found a cell phone, wallet and $1,101 in cash.
He asked the man if he had anything illegal in his vehicle.
Douglas told him that there was a small joint in the center console
-- but he said that was it!
When the officer conducted an inventory of the car, he found a lot
more.
The officer located two blunts in the console, five partially smoked
blunts in an ashtray cup and a black bag containing three glass jars
with a green leafy substance inside, a set of scales, a container with
a brown paste inside, hemp rolling papers, a pipe and a loaded gun.
The green leafy substance and brown paste later field tested positive for marijuana.
Douglas is being charged with unlawful possession of marijuana,
unlawful possession of paraphernalia and transporting a loaded firearm. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on June 15, 2015.

EMBEZZLEMENT
It was definitely not a happy hour for a woman trying to
get some food after work at the Valliant Sonic on May 20.
Garvin woman Brenda Lee Pittman, 51, allegedly ran up
to the woman’s window while she was in the drive thru and
hit her in the face with a pink dumbbell for sleeping with
her husband.
According to the police report, a Valliant officer found
the victim sitting in her car in one of the Sonic stalls. Blood
was on the woman’s face, and she had cuts on her face
and on the back of her head. She told the officer as she
was walking to her car after work when she heard Pittman
yelling and cussing at her. She told the woman she didn’t want to talk, and she
jumped in her car and drove to Sonic.
Pittman followed the woman there, and when the victim pulled up to the drive
thru to make an order, Pittman ran up to her window and started beating her
with a dumbbell.
After hitting the woman several times, Pittman jumped back into her vehicle,
that was being driven by her husband, and left the scene.
The victim’s husband told the officer his wife and Pittman’s husband had a
previous sexual relationship, but the four of them had “decided to let the matter
drop and not discuss it again.”
Apparently Pittman wasn’t cool with that arrangement. The man said Pittman
called his wife the night before and told her, “I’m going to kick your ass.”
A Sonic employee said she was taking food to a customer when she saw Pittman
attack a woman sitting in the drive thru with a pink barbell.
Police found Pittman at a residence on Highway 98 in Garvin. Pittman said
she and her husband were behind the woman in the drive thru, and the woman
“flipped her the bird.” Pittman said she got out of her vehicle and hit the victim
with her hand. Her husband told the officer the same thing.
Pittman is being charged with assault and battery. She was released on a $1,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 24, 2015.
Oh what tangled webs we weave…

A man in Florida was unaware of how elevators work when he
decided to rob a woman whilst riding one. The surveillance camera shows that, after he pulled a knife on an elderly woman to
steal her purse, he walked smack into the elevator’s closed doors.
According to Newser, he was able to exit and is still at large. While
it might be no consolation to the robbery victim who probably
couldn’t log onto YouTube if she tried, the criminal has now become the laughingstock of the entire internet.
Dental hygiene in reality can be scary as well. However, a New
York woman was arrested for performing dental activity without a
license. Although she was only the office manager, she took it upon
herself to pull teeth, perform root canals, and injecting mouths
while the dentist was away. According to HP, she was supposedly
trained as a dentist in Albania, but did not pursue a license once
moving to America. This would explain the charges of assault and
reckless endangerment. So next time you’re scared of going to the
dentist, at least remember that it’s a real dentist.

Two drunk men were arrested after
they allegedly dragged a man across his
yard and pushed down his girlfriend.
On May 9, a man called dispatch and
said Checotah man Bryan Delain Cox, 47,
and Eufaula man Ryan Delane Funburg,
25, had assaulted him at his residence. A
Checotah officer went to the residence in
the 200 block of S.E. Main shortly after 5
p.m. to see what was going on.
According to the affidavit, the victim’s
face was swollen and he kept finding hair
in his hands, because he said the men
dragged him from his residence to Cox’s
truck. The victim said both men were
drunk when the attack occurred.
The victim told the officer he heard a
knock at his door, but before he could
open it, Cox and Funburg kicked the
door in and started beating him up. He
said the men also pushed down his girlfriend.
The officer found Cox stumbling
around in the road at N.W. Fourth and
Okmulgee. When he asked the man
where he was coming from, he “couldn’t
respond because he was so intoxicated.”
The officer placed the inebriated man under arrest and transported him to jail.
The officer was unable to immediately find Funburg.
Cox is being charged with burglary in the second degree, kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Funburg is being charged with burglary in the second degree, kidnapping and assault and battery.
Both of their bonds were set at $1,000, and they are scheduled to
appear in court on July 8, 2015.
