We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is nO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is nOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and god Bless

A combative Heavener man who was afraid of jail was arrested after he unsuccessfully tried to hide illegal items from a
state trooper.
On April 25, a state trooper stopped a vehicle for traveling 58
mph in a 45 mph zone. According to the affidavit, the trooper
noticed the passenger place something underneath him.
When the trooper made contact with the vehicle's occupants,
he noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
The passenger, identified as Emrys Johan Matthew Nottke,
36, did not have his identification.
The trooper asked him to have a seat in his patrol vehicle.
When Nottke stepped out of the car, it was apparent that he
was trying to hide something in his boot.
The trooper asked Nottke to empty his pockets.
Nottke became hostile and refused to empty them. He turned around and attempted to pull
stuff out of his pockets without the trooper seeing. The trooper told Nottke to stop reaching
in his pockets. Nottke started yelling at the trooper and refused to stop. The trooper grabbed
Nottke's hands, but Nottke tensed up and took an aggressive stance, as though he were trying
to fight the trooper.
The trooper was eventually able to get Nottke in handcuffs. Inside Nottke's pocket, he
found a bag with marijuana and a pipe. In Nottke's boot, the trooper found another bag with
marijuana.
Nottke told him he was sorry, and that he was afraid of going to jail.
His plan didn't work, because the trooper transported him to the Leflore County Jail.
Nottke is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, obstructing
an officer and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $3,000 bond
and is scheduled to appear in court on June 5, 2014.
And marijuana,
to boot!

The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking a
very dangerous man who is wanted for allegedly trying to kill
his estranged wife and their daughter.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Michael Paul Fitzpatrick, 36, and charges of feloniously pointing a firearm, kidnapping, child abuse by injury, domestic assault and battery
in the presence of a minor, assault and battery with a deadly
weapon, and shooting with intent to kill were filed May 2.
According to court records, Fitzpatrick met with his estranged wife and daughter on April 29 after the little girl asked
her mother to see her daddy. When they met at his house in
Hugo, he allegedly pulled a gun on his wife and threatened
to kill her, their daughter, and himself. The victim struggled
with Fitzpatrick, and the two managed to escape, but not before Fitzpatrick put a bullet in
the victim’s car.
If you have any information on Fitzpatrick’s whereabouts, you are urged to call police or

Wilburton man Manuel Mark Jones, 30, was arrested for allegedly hitting his girlfriend during an argument and biting her thumb. He claimed it
was self-defense.
According to the affidavit, the woman reported the attack in the Latimer
County Sheriff's Office on April 30. She told a deputy that she and Jones had
been arguing when she decided to leave. She said Jones pushed her while
she was walking down the stairs and hit her on the left side of her head. She
also said that he grabbed her hand and bit her thumb, causing it to bleed.
The victim had an especially large bruise on her arm, and she told the
deputy that the bruise was caused two days before by Jones biting her after
she told him their relationship was over.
The deputy went to speak to Jones, and he placed him in handcuffs.
Jones allegedly told the arresting officer, "Great. She attacks me, and I go to jail."
Jones told the deputy that the victim had intentionally stuck her thumb in his mouth, so he bit
her. He said he only bit her thumb to defend himself.
He also said she had tried to run him over while she was leaving the residence.
On the way to the jail, Jones repeatedly told the deputy that he was going to hire an attorney and
sue everyone in Latimer County because of the "repeated harassment he has received from the law
enforcement in Latimer County."
According to the police report, Jones has a previous conviction for domestic assault and battery.
Jones is being charged with domestic abuse – assault and battery. His bond was set at $2,500,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 5, 2014.

An Antlers woman was arrested
May 7 after she apparently had too
much "fun" at a local bar and crashed
her vehicle into a ditch.
According to the affidavit, a Pushmataha County deputy was dispatched
to a bar east of Antlers to investigate
the incident. When he arrived, he
saw the vehicle stuck in a ditch near
state Highway 3. EMS was already on
scene and was attending to the driver,
44-year-old Sherri Covington. EMS informed the deputy that Covington was
intoxicated and had driven her vehicle
into the ditch.
The deputy found an ice chest containing several beers in Covington's car. He also saw an empty beer bottle in the front passenger floorboard and when he opened the door, the deputy was overwhelmed by a strong odor of alcohol.
Covington also smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes
and slurred speech.
When the deputy asked Covington to sit in his patrol vehicle, she
refused. He asked her a second time, and she still refused.
The deputy helped Covington stand up; due to her inability to
stand up by herself and maintain her balance, he decided not to administer standard field sobriety tests.
After she refused to have a seat in the patrol vehicle for a third
time, the deputy didn't ask her again. He put handcuffs on Covington
and placed her in the patrol car himself.
The deputy called a wrecker for Covington's vehicle and transported the drunken driver to jail.
Covington is being charged with public intoxication. She was released on a personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on June 11, 2014.

A McAlester man's plan to purchase dope
was thwarted by a police officer after the officer saw the man suspiciously loitering in an
alley.
According to the affidavit, a McAlester
police officer arrested Robert Doyle Phillips
II, 40, on May 5, because Phillips had active
warrants in McAlester and McIntosh County.
He also admitted that he was trying to purchase drugs.
The officer first saw Phillips in an alley at
Sixth Street and Wyandotte Avenue.
Phillips went behind a privacy fence of a local business, and the officer found him sitting
on the back porch. Phillips told the officer that he lived there, but the officer informed him that the place was a business. When the officer asked Phillips what
he was doing, he told him that he was waiting to meet a person in the alley to
buy dope.
After a warrant check revealed that Phillips was a wanted man, the officer took
him to jail.
The officer asked Phillips if he had anything illegal on him. Phillips told him
he had a "point" in his sock, and he had last used meth that afternoon.
During the booking process, police found a syringe in Phillips's wallet that had
a clear liquid inside. They also found another syringe in his wallet, a piece of tinfoil folded up with a coffee filter in his pocket and a small plastic bag containing
a white powder substance in his shoe.
Phillips is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance
and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of a
$25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23, 2014.

If you have experienced
criticism or cruelty because of
your faith, Jesus explains why:
“’If the world hates you, keep in
mind that it hated me first. If you
belonged to the world, it would
love you as its own. As it is, you
do not belong to the world, but I
have chosen you out of the world.
That is why the world hates you.’”
(John 15:18-19, NIV)
Despite the discrimination we face as Christians, Jesus reveals
what we need to know to keep going:
“’And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”
(Matthew 28:20, NIV)
Bible Says:
Why Cruelty Continues Toward Us
A Tishomingo man on a motorcycle who couldn't seem to keep his hands off of himself was arrested after a state trooper stopped
him for his weird behavior.
On April 29, a trooper was traveling east on Ohio Street in Coalgate when he noticed a motorcycle driving in front of him.
Well, it wasn't really the bike he noticed — it was the driver.
According to the affidavit, the man was acting very restless on the bike, and was driving with one hand while rubbing several
areas of his body with the other hand. The man's self love was causing him to have trouble controlling the bike, and he was weaving back and forth across the road.
A motorcycle is no place for a self-massage.
The trooper stopped the motorcycle and made contact with the driver, 39-year-old Clinton Samuel Michalk. The trooper noticed Michalk appeared to be very nervous and seemed to have uncontrollable body tremors with exaggerated movements. Michalk told the trooper the weird movements were not normal for him, nor were they due to a medical condition.
The weird movements made more sense after he admitted the using meth the night before.
Michalk said he was having trouble driving the motorcycle because he was "really sleepy."
The trooper placed Michalk under arrest for suspicion of DUI. During a search of Michalk, he found a small bag containing a
crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine in Michalk's pocket.
Michalk is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at $15,250, and he is scheduled to appear in court on May 15, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Not many people wear fanny packs anymore, but when they do, they just might be
hiding something suspicious.
Apparently, no one told John Frederick Hutchinson that fanny packs were so
90s, because the 56-year-old Purcell man was caught wearing one with a plethora of
illegal items inside.
Maybe he just likes to keep his drugs within reach.
According to the affidavit, Chandler police were advised on April 11 that Hutchinson,
who was wanted on a Lincoln County felony warrant, was walking southbound on
Dewey wearing a fanny pack. Police located a man that matched the description of
the suspect walking southbound on Iowa north of Eighth Street. They made contact with the suspect
and positively identified him as Hutchinson, and placed him under arrest for his warrant.
Before placing Hutchinson in the patrol vehicle, the officer conducted a search and asked him if he
had anything the officer needed to know about. Hutchinson admitted that he had marijuana in his
fanny pack.
That wasn’t the only thing.
Hutchinson told the officer where to locate the drug. The officer bravely went where not many have
gone before — inside another man’s fanny pack to locate the weed.
The officer found a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana, two packages of rolling
papers, a syringe and three lighters.
Someone was ready to party out of his fanny pack.
Hutchinson is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $3,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on May 1, 2014.

Cartwright man Patrick Keith Lott,
42, was arrested for drugs and paraphernalia possession during a traffic stop in
Colbert on May 4.
According to the affidavit, a Colbert
police officer stopped the vehicle Lott
was a passenger in because the driver
failed to come to a complete stop at a
stop sign.
Lott told the officer that they had just
left a friend's house where they had been
making knives.
The officer asked Lott if his friends
had been smoking marijuana because he
could smell the "distinct smell of burnt marijuana" coming from the
inside of the vehicle.
Lott said his friends had been smoking while they were making
knives. When the officer asked him if he had anything illegal on his
person, Lott admitted to having a marijuana pipe in his pocket. He
gave it to the officer. The officer noticed a black burnt residue inside
the pipe that smelled like burnt marijuana.
He asked both occupants to exit the vehicle. He asked Lott if he
had anything else illegal on his person. Lott told him no, but during
a search, the officer found a small baggie in Lott's sock.
Lott told the officer he had forgotten about the baggie, and inside
of it was a little bit of marijuana and some "speed."
The officer placed Lott in handcuffs and retrieved the baggie. Inside, he saw a straw containing a crystal-like substance, which later
tested positive for meth, and a green leafy substance.
He placed Lott under arrest. He searched the vehicle with the driver's permission, but didn't find anything else illegal.
Lott is being charged with possession of methamphetamine and
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a
$5,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 28, 2014.

An Atoka woman was caught red-handed with copper wires
when she allegedly broke into an abandoned church on April 29.
Atoka police say they arrested Carrol Ann Craver, 23, after they
were alerted to a possible burglary at the corner of E. First Street
and S. Pennsylvania Avenue, the affidavit states.
The reporting party told police she saw Craver walking around
the church acting suspiciously. A couple hours later, she said she
saw Craver exit the church with wires in her hand.
When officers went to investigate the report, a neighbor told them
they had seen Craver exit the church and walk around the building.
Police began searching the abandoned building for the alleged
wire thief. They heard someone walking through leaves near the
back door. Officers found Craver standing near the back door with
three coiled electrical wires in one hand and wire cutters in the other. They asked Craver
what she was doing, but instead of answering the question, she told police that people are
always accusing her of stuff.
While speaking to Craver, an officer noticed that she couldn't stand still and was very fidgety, and her pupils also appeared to be dilated. He asked her where she got the wire from, and
she threw the wires on the ground and told him, "Right there."
The officer placed Craver under arrest for her unholy activities.
Craver is being charged with larceny from the house. Her bond was set at $5,000, and she
is scheduled to appear in court on May 28, 2014.

Apparently, no one pulls over to
the side of the road for police anymore.
At least, that's what Checotah man
Tyrone Montez Hymes, 58, told an
officer after he failed to stop for the
flashing red and blue lights of the law.
According to the affidavit, a Checotah police officer was on patrol in the
early morning hours of May 5 when
he saw Hymes driving southbound
on North Broadway. Knowing that
Hymes's driver's license was suspended, the officer pulled behind the
vehicle and activated his emergency
lights. Hymes acted as though he was
going to stop, but he kept driving. The officer activated his siren, but
Hymes kept driving until he reached his residence on East Kinsley.
The officer approached Hymes's vehicle and asked him why he
didn't stop. Hymes told him, "People don't jut pull over on the side
of the road anymore."
Hymes then started screaming at the officer that his wife had just
died and if the officer was going to take him to jail, he should just do
it.
While Hymes was yelling for the officer to take him to jail, the officer noticed that he was trying to stuff something into the seat cushion with his right hand. He told Hymes to step out of the vehicle, and
he placed him under arrest for driving under suspension.
In the seat cushion, the officer found a small plastic bag that contained a crystal-like substance the officer believed to be meth.
Hymes is being charged with eluding/ attempting to elude police
officer, driving with license suspended and possession of a controlled
dangerous substance. He is being held in lieu of an $8,000 bond and
is scheduled to appear in court on May 22, 2014.

OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
There’s nothing like a mother’s love for her son.
Just ask Stigler woman Sarah Jane Branch, 59. Police say they arrested Branch and her friend, Lisa Renee Wynn, 39, after they lied to
police about Branch’s son’s escape from jail.
On April 22, state troopers and Haskell County deputies investigated the escape of inmate Edward Branch Jr. They spoke to his
mom, who told them that she had not seen her son and didn’t know
where he was. She continued to insist that she knew nothing about
her son’s escape, but she cracked later that afternoon and told police
she had seen him early that morning. He had come to her house and
she had given him a drink of water.
Branch told police that she had been with her friend Wynn for the
entire day. Police spoke to Wynn, who told them that Branch came to her residence and told
Wynn that her son had escaped jail. Branch asked her not to say anything. She added she
didn’t know Branch’s son at all.
Police placed Branch under arrest.
Later that evening, Wynn admitted that Branch had told her she needed an alibi, because
she had given her son money and methamphetamine. Branch allegedly told Wynn that once
her son had a phone, he would be calling her since Branch figured police would monitor her
phone.
Police asked Wynn if they could monitor her phone.
On April 23, police asked to see her phone. She told them that she had not received any
calls, but when police checked the phone, they noticed that all of the phone’s contents had
recently been deleted.
She told police it was because she didn’t want her boyfriend to see whom she was talking
to. Police instructed her not to delete anything else.
Officers visited Wynn on April 24 and asked to see her phone. Once again, they noticed that
she had deleted information from her phone. They also read text messages that discussed
how the police didn’t take her phone.
Police placed Wynn under arrest.
Wynn is being charged with obstructing an officer. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
Branch is being charged with harboring a fugitive from justice and obstructing an officer.
She was released on a $10,000 bond.

A man who told police he was God was arrested on April
30 for his less-than-divine behavior.
On April 30, a McCurtain County officer was dispatched
to a residence in the 900 block of Redarrow Road in Broken Bow. En route, she was advised that the suspect did
not have on any clothes.
According to the affidavit, when she arrived, she saw a
nude man sitting on the front porch with his legs spread
apart.
As the officer walked up to the residence, the man told
her, "I'm God and I'm going to f--- you."
She told him her name and said, "I am going to step in
the house and talk to your dad, so God you sit right there
for a moment." The man laughed.
The suspect's dad told the officer that his son, 37-yearold Christopher T. McDonald, had been acting out the past
few days and he could no longer stay there. He said McDonald was not on any medication. The officer suspected McDonald was under the influence
of methamphetamine due to his behavior.
She asked for McDonald's clothes and took them outside. She handed them to him and
said, "Hey God, I need you to take these pants and put them on."
McDonald started a bizarre series of ramblings that including calling the officer derogatory
names, stating his name was God and telling her that he was going to kill her.
He also attempted to hit the officer.
McDonald started walking toward a truck, and the officer, fearing he could be getting a
weapon, called for backup. McDonald emerged without a weapon. More officers arrived, but
McDonald refused to follow their commands. After a physical struggle between McDonald
and police, officers were eventually able to place McDonald in handcuffs and leg shackles.
He kept screaming, "I'm not going to f------ jail!"
On the way to jail, McDonald starting crying and told the arresting officer. "This is just a
dream. I am sorry. Please take me to my sister's, this is a dream." At the end of every sentence, he spit at the window.
Once at the jail, McDonald had to be forcibly removed from the patrol vehicle and placed
into a restraint chair due to combative behavior.
McDonald is being charged with resisting an officer. His bond was set at $2,000, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on May 28, 2014.

A Tennessee woman is behind bars after police say she broke into an
Englewood fire station and stole an ambulance.
Authorities say 41-year old Terri Efaw broke into the fire station on Carroll
Street and drove straight through the large bay door early Saturday morning.
“The ambulance crew heard a vehicle start up,” said Englewood Fire
Chief Billy Roach. “They heard the racket, came outside and she was driving
straight through the bay doors.”
Storms that moved through the area knocked out power to the security
system on the doors so Efaw was able to break in without alerting authorities.
“This week we had storms and the power went off,” Roach said. “We have
electronic codes on them and once the powers out, if the battery back up doesn’t kick in, it unlocks
the door.”
They say Efaw only made it about two miles before she was stopped by police. Englewood
police officer Nick Purkey said when the call came out, they immediately began looking for the
ambulance.
Authorities spotted it on Highway 39 and with the assistance of the McMinn Sheriff’s
Department were able to stop the vehicle on Highway 30 in Athens by blocking her in.
Officials estimate the damage to the door at $3,000 and the ambulance at $5,000. The
ambulance is valued at $100,000.
Efaw was arrested without incident. Authorities said she told them she was pregnant and had
to rush to the hospital. She is charged with theft, vandalism, and criminal trespassing.
She’s currently at the McMinn County jail on an $11,000 bond.
