Embezzlement charges filed
OSBI special agents arrested the former LeFlore County Emergency Management Director and his wife for felony
crimes.
Michael Davidson, 45, has been
charged with three counts of felony embezzlement, and his wife, Jennifer Davidson, 43, has been charged with taking/
receiving stolen credit or debit card, in
LeFlore County District Court.
According to OSBI, Michael Davidson
was arrested at his Poteau home just after 10 o’clock on April 2. Jennifer Davidson turned herself in to authorities around
noon. The two were the subjects of a
months-long investigation by OSBI into
embezzlement allegations.
OSBI agents learned that on several
occasions the two used the LeFlore
County Emergency Management fuel
credit cards to fill the tanks of their personally owned vehicles of more than
$2000 worth of gas.
Michael also took money from the
county emergency management to purchase items for the agency but never delivered them.
Bond for Michael Davidson was set at
$5000 and Jennifer Davidson’s bond was
set at $2500.

around the state
Custer County -- Saturday, April 7th, 2018,
a Clinton Public Schools teacher and her husband drove to the Clinton Police Department
where she confessed to having a sexual relationship with one of her 15-year-old students.
The Clinton Police Department requested
OSBI special agents assist with the investigation. OSBI agents interviewed Keri Hoffman,
35, and collected the information about the
crimes. Hoffman used Facebook messenger
to communicate with the teenage boy and
to set up locations for sexual contact. She
admitted to having sex with the boy numerous times since March 30, 2018, inside her
car in Washita County and inside her father’s
detached garage in Custer County. Hoffman went on to say that she took a
group of students to the Capitol to participate in the teacher walkout. The victim was part of that group. Hoffman picked him up first and dropped him off
last, having sex with him each time. After an OSBI special agent interviewed
the victim, agents arrested Hoffman at 329 N. 24th in Clinton and booked
her into the Custer County jail. She is being charged with Facilitating Sexual
Conduct or Communication with Minor by Use of Technology, which carries
up to 10 years in prison or up to a $10,000 fine; two counts of Second Degree
Rape, each carries up to 15 years in prison; and with Pattern of Criminal Offenses, which carries up to 2 years or a fine of up to $25,000. Her bond was
reduced to $30,000.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

BICYCLE RACE
A Wilburton woman who was arrested for
warrants is facing more charges after she allegedly took meth into the jail on March 26.
According to reports, a Wilburton officer
spotted 28-year-old Patricia Classie Mote
riding a bicycle without any lights in the 300
block of West Blair Avenue. He stopped her
and told her she needed to put some lights
on the bike.
While they were talking, the officer was
advised that Mote had several outstanding
warrants for her arrest. He told Mote that she
was under arrest. She asked him twice to let
her go. When that didn’t work, the woman
took off running east on Blair Avenue.
The officer caught up to her in a yard at a vacant house near West Blair and
Northwest Second Street. He took her to the ground and placed her under
arrest. He then asked if she had anything illegal in her possession. The officer
told her if she had anything illegal on her, it would be a felony if she took them
into the jail. She told him that she only had her cigarettes and another item
on her person.
When they arrived at the jail, another officer searched the woman and found
a syringe filled with a clear liquid and a bag containing a crystal-like substance
in Mote’s pocket. The items tested positive for methamphetamine.
Mote is being charged with bringing contraband into jail, possession of
controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 1, 2018.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 11 | MAY 2018 LATIMER COUNTY
Two robbery suspects lost their loot to the wind after a holdup at a travel
agent’s office, police video shows.
Surveillance footage shows money dropping from the pockets of an unidentified man’s pants as the robbers flee the travel agency in Droylsden, northern
England, according to police. Gusty winds then scatter the bills in the street
and foil attempts to collect it. Greater Manchester Police released footage of
the bungled getaway online. “This duo threatened innocent people working
in the travel agents and should know their actions are utterly unacceptable,”
Detective Constable Phil Scargill said via a statement. “They took every step
to secure the money in the shop, but left the stolen notes in their wake as they
fled from the scene,” Scargill added. It’s unclear how much money was stolen,
or whether any was recovered.
Here’s a volatile combination: nudity, guns, drugs and pizza. At least for Phillip Engle, the 27-year-old man who found himself in a not-so-happy situation
at Happy’s Pizza in Muskegon Charter Township, Michigan. Engle, who lives
next door, allegedly showed up at the pizzeria wearing just a towel with his
three young children in tow. According to the police incident report, Engle was
carrying a gun, and he used it to bang on the glass door until it shattered. The
gun then allegedly discharged, and police found a bullet casing lodged in the
door’s metal frame. Officers who responded to the scene say they found Engle
on his porch with a handgun. He threw the gun in the yard when ordered to
drop it. Later he told them that he had three loaded guns in his home, which
they confiscated for safekeeping. An employee at Happy’s Pizza told an officer
from the Muskegon Township Police Department that when Engle was at the
shop, he yelled, “No one will help me,” and “No one will feed my kids!” He also
allegedly said, “I’m trippin’ out!” Engle reportedly told police that he had earlier
consumed four hits of LSD. One of Engle’s young children told officers that
her father had also shot the dashboard of their car because it wouldn’t stop
beeping. They found a spent casing on the dashboard and what appeared to
be a bullet hole. According to Fox 17, Engle’s wife said she took out a personal
protection order from him. Engle was arraigned on four misdemeanor charges:
malicious destruction of property worth $200 to $1,000, careless discharge of
a firearm, reckless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm while under the
influence.
Imagine if Walter White of “Breaking Bad” had driven around wearing a hat
that read, “Meth.”
A man was sporting a beanie with the word “Weed” on it when he was pulled
over for a lane change no-no near La Pine, Ore. When the trooper explored
further, he found 6 pounds of weed worth $15,000 hidden in the car, according
to a police news release. Now, instead of a routine traffic violation, 32-year-old
Ali Reza Tabibnejad, of Missoula, Mont., faces charges of unlawful possession
and delivery of a controlled substance. This wouldn’t be the first case of a
suspect graphically telegraphing a crime. When Bryan Wendler, of Marathon
County, Wisc., was arrested on charges of drunken driving last year, he wore a
T-shirt that read, “Been Drinking? Free Breathalyzer Test: Blow Here.” An arrow
pointed at his crotch.
STUPID CRIMINALS

Operation Kryptonite: Six Individuals
Plead Guilty To Drug Charges
Multiple defendants entered pleas of guilty
on March 28 in federal court. The defendants
were charged in a single indictment on February 14, 2018 as a result of an investigation
lead by the Drug Enforcement Administration
into the distribution of methamphetamine in
and around McAlester.
A copy of the full indictment can be found
online at https://go.usa.gov/xnefa.
Bethany Lynn Kendall, 28, of McAlester;
Steven Alan Phifer, 40, of McAlester; Dylan
Joseph Dempsey, 25, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Conway Lee Kindle, 43, of Stuart; Dominic Alan Giaudrone, 38, of Krebs; and Angel
Reanea Henderson, 41, of Hartshorne, each
entered guilty pleas.
A sentencing date will be set by the Court after the Federal Probation Office
completes their pre-sentencing reports.
The one remaining defendant that is named in the indictment, Dustin Lee
Hall, a/k/a Smalls, 31, of Savanna, is not in custody and members of the public are urged to contact law enforcement if they come into contact with Hall or
know of his whereabouts.
The Drug Conspiracy charges arose from a joint investigation entitled “Kryptonite” coordinated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force
(OCDETF) of the Eastern District of Oklahoma. OCDETF is an initiative led
and coordinated by the Office of the United States Attorney. The agencies involved in the investigation were, the McAlester Police Department, the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police, the Savanna Police Department, the Pittsburg
County Sheriff’s Office, the District 18 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force,
the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the United States Marshal’s Service, the
Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

national police week
Sunday, May 13 -
Saturday, May 19, 2018
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which
designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in
which that date falls as Police Week.
Currently, tens of thousands of law
enforcement officers from around the
world converge on Washington, DC
to participate in a number of planned
events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a gathering in Senate Park of approximately 120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement. Decades later,
the event, more commonly known as National Police Week, has grown to a
series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement
officers to our Nation’s Capital each year.
The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, which is sponsored by the
Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, is one in a series of events
which includes the Candlelight Vigil, which is sponsored by the National Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and seminars sponsored by
Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)
National Police Week draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees. The
attendees come from departments throughout the United States as well as
from agencies throughout the world. This provides a unique opportunity to
meet others that share a common brotherhood. In that spirit, the Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1 sponsors receptions each afternoon and evening
during Police Week. These events are open to all law enforcement personnel
and are an experience unlike any other.

Although they are not a substitute for treatment, self-help groups like 12-step programs
can be a great source of support and encouragement while a person is engaged in treatment,
and after. The most well-known self-help groups
are those affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous
(AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Cocaine
Anonymous (CA), all of which are based on the
12-step model.
Most drug addiction treatment programs encourage patients to participate
in a self-help group during and after formal treatment. These groups can be
particularly helpful during recovery, as they are a source of ongoing communal support and encouragement to stay drug free. Information on local meetings can be found on their websites. Support groups for family members of
people with addictions, like Al-anon and Alateen, can also be helpful.
There are other groups in the private sector that can provide a lot of support. To find meetings in your area, contact local hospitals, treatment centers, or faith-based organizations. These organizations often coordinate support groups for substance abuse.
