A Florida man was arrested after allegedly storming
the Äeld and attacking a -year-old boy during football
practice.
,scambia County Sheriff’s deputies arrested +a]id
Alan Taylor, , last month in Pensacola.
+eputies said that Taylor’s son was taking part in
one-on-one tackling practice with another player, when
Taylor’s son was o]erpowered and started crying.
That’s when witnesses said Taylor ran out on the Äeld,
put a helmet on his head, got into a football stance and
then charged the ]ictim, intentionally hitting the boy in
the chest with the helmet.
+eputies said Taylor then grabbed the ]ictim by the arms and pushed
him to the ground.
>itnesses said the boy was crying, but was not seriously hurt and did
not require medical attention.
+eputies said Taylor then yelled, cursed and approached the coaching
staff in an aggressi]e manner before he was Änally stopped.
Taylor was arrested and booked into the ,scambia County jail. He was
charged with aggra]ated child abuse and disorderly conduct, and has
since bonded out of jail.

An El Paso, Texas, man busted into a church and absconded with the safe. Safes
are heavy, so he only got a few yards before dropping it on a neighbor’s lawn, where
he tried to crack it open. That’s when he was confronted by the home’s occupant—a
police offi cer.
Is there no honor among thieves? While two suspects were being questioned by
Ogden, Utah, police about shoplifting from a store, someone broke into their car and
stole a stereo and several other items.
How convenient! Only a few months earlier, a man from Iowa City, Iowa had his driver’s license stolen. Then who should show up at the bar where he worked as a bouncer,
but the thief brandishing the bouncer’s very own license as his form of ID.
Anthony 2enneth Mastrogiovanni was impersonating a police offi cer when he pulled
over another car for speeding. The driver quickly sussed out that Mastrogiovanni was
Ä bbing since he, too, was a cop, but in his case, the kind of cop who doesn’t have to
pretend he’s a cop because he really is a cop. Mastrogiovanni was arrested for impersonating a police offi cer.
A San Francisco thief pedaled his bike up to a woman on the sidewalk, snatched
the iPhone out of her hands, and rode away. Unknown to him, the woman was in the
middle of demonstrating the iPhone’s new GPS tracking device, which worked—the
thief was captured minutes later.
Following a dispute, Craig Aylesworth, of Bithlo, Florida, allegedly tossed a Molotov
Cocktail at his neighbor’s trailer home … just as the winds shifted, sending embers on
to his own trailer. Luckily, he was arrested, since he no longer had a home of his own
to return to.
Callie Rough of Middletown, Ohio, was picked up for shoplifting from a Dollar General
store with her two young children in tow. Among the booty was a book, 101 Ways to
Be a Great Mom.
Don’t you hate it when you suff er a heart attack and think you’re going to die, so you
confess to a yearold murder, only to Ä nd out you’re not going to die and then get
sentenced to life in prison as a result? Yeah, so does James Washington, of Nashville,
because it happened to him.
Clive Halford thinks big! The British career criminal stole a truck and loaded it with
18 pallets of stolen nickel and copper worth around £150,000 (about $250,000). Yes,
the haul was huge—too huge. Cops arrested Halford after the truck’s suspension collapsed under the weight. Earlier, Halford had stolen a car, overloaded it, and broken its
suspension too.

GRUESOME DISCOVERY
A former instructor at Eastern Oklahoma
State College is facing multiple charges after
authorities found troubling items in his campus apartment, including weed, cocaine, and
a human jawbone.
According to reports, Bryan Denny worked
at the college as a criminal justice instructor,
and as of September 5, is no longer employed
in that role. He was also formerly employed in
the campus police department as an auxiliary
investigato and formerly served as campus
police chief and dean of Student Life.
The unusual items were found in the man’s
apartment by employees conducting routine
safety inspections of student and residential
apartments on campus. The employees said
Denny seemed nervous when they told him about the inspections.
When they entered his apartment, he put a marijuana rolling tray in a bathroom drawer.
A search warrant was then conducted at the man’s apartment. Investigators found marijuana and paraphernalia and four small bags of cocaine. They
also found ¸what appeared to be a human Qawbone with Äve decayed teeth.¹
It was stored in a black case on the top shelf of the laundry closet.
Reports state that Denny’s attorneys said the jawbone was an artifact
passed down to him by a family member and was behind stored next to an
arrowhead.
Reports state Denny is being charged in Choctaw Nation District Court
with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance including possession
with intent, unlawful removal of a dead body, possession of a Ärearm while
committing a felony, and possession of marijuana. He was released from the
Latimer County jail on a $20,000 bond.

Attorney General John O’Connor released the following
statement after the Pardon and Parole Board denied clemency for Richard Stephen Fairchild.
“Adam Broomhall was just three years old when his mother’s boyfriend, Richard Stephen Fairchild, brutally tortured
him to death on November 13, 1995, for wetting the bed.
Fairchild, a former amateur boxer, beat, burned, and threw
Adam into the side of a table, silencing his cries forever.
“Adam’s 17-year-old aunt was at the home to take care
of Adam and his sisters, but she was forced to leave due
to Fairchild’s repeated sexual assaults. Had she been able
to stay, Adam would have had a loving caregiver and would
likely not have been murdered that night.
¸The medical e_aminer determined that Adam suffered four to si_ blows on the
front of his head. He also suffered ]ery painful second-degree burns.
“Ultimately, an Oklahoma jury decided death was the just and appropriate punishment for the horriÄc murder of Adam. The con]iction and sentence were afÄrmed after years of thorough re]iews by the appellate courts.
“The Board’s decision to deny Fairchild’s request for executive clemency was
the right decision. Our thoughts and prayers are with Adam’s family.”
Fairchild is on death row being housed at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in
McAlester.

More than 100,000 children and
youth in the U.S. foster care system
are awaiting permanent families.
National Adoption Month is a time
to raise awareness about the adoption of children and youth from foster care.
The Children’s Bureau in partnership with AdoptUSKids and Child
Welfare Information Gateway sponsors the initiative each November as a way to focus public attention on the
urgent need for adoptive families for children and youth waiting in foster
care for a permanent family. This year’s focus, “Partnering for Permanency,” builds on the social media theme from last year. A special web page
on Information Gateway’s website helps child welfare professionals, prospective adoptive parents, and youth partner for permanency. The website
contains resources, stories, and videos on topics such as getting started
with social media, how to build a recruitment campaign, and how social
media impacts child welfare and adoption. The website can be found at
http://www.childwelfare.gov/adoption/nam/.

Gotta go to Braum’s...
On October , around !00 p.m., officers were
called out to an armed robbery at the =alero gas
station near th and S. Sheridan in Tulsa.
The caller said he was cleaning the store and
preparing to close when a man, later identiÄed
as +e]ion 5elson, walked in the store, pulled out
a gun, grabbed the ]ictim, and then demanded
money.
The caller said he fought with 5elson and tried
to stop him from going behind the counter, but
5elson pushed him out of the way. The ]ictim said
5elson took cash out the drawer then hit him in
the face when he could not get to the safe before lea]ing.
Officers quickly con]erged on the area and began searching for the suspect. Officers located 5elson at a Braum’s down the street and he was
taken into custody.
>hen Officers questioned 5elson about the robbery, he replied something to the effect of, ¸0 did that dumb sht¹.
+e]ion 5elson was arrested for Armed 9obbery.

STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED
During September, the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office has worked diligently
to recover stolen property from two different thefts.
After an extensive investigation, Sheriff Tim Turner learned of the whereabouts of the property.
Sheriff Turner, Investigator Dustin Lynch, and Deputies John Vail and Heath
Worsham, recovered the property after Undersheriff Terry Garland, Deputy
Nick Worsham, and Lt. Jason Martin spent hours investigating the possible
locations of these stolen items.
This investigation showcases the team work within the sheriff’s office and
continues to demonstrate that hard work and relentless pursuit pays off.
Arrest warrants are being requested for two suspects. This investigation is
ongoing, and Sheriff Turner expects multiple arrests to be made.
These thefts were conducted to support the habits of Methamphetamine
and Fentanyl addicts.
