NO PLACE TO HIDE
A 43-year-old Spiro man is facing several
charges related to child sex abuse after he allegedly took photos of a teen and sexually abused
her.
According to reports, on August 12, the
17-year-old victim reported that Casey Lee Waddle had taken pictures of her through a hole in
the wall in 2022. She also said that the man had
sexually abused her while she slept.
Officers searched the victim’s phone. They saw a text Waddle sent the girl in
August 2022. The text contained photos of a sexual object.
The teen was unfortunately not Waddle’s only victim.
In August 2024, a woman told police officers that she found a picture of her
15-year-old daughter on Waddle’s phone. The photo was of the girl’s thigh.
Officers searched Waddle’s phone and found messages Waddle had sent to
the girl. The messages included topics such as sexual innuendos and drugging
the girl without her knowledge.
Officers went to the man’s residence on August 9 to speak to him about the
allegations. When they arrived, he tried to flee from his home.
Waddle is being charged with sexual battery, lewd or indecent acts to a child
under 16, violation of OK statute via computer, pornography (procure/produce/
distribute/possess juvenile pornography), and obstructing an officer. A warrant
was issued for his arrest on August 12, but he was later arrested in Fort Smith,
Arkansas, on September 9.

10 | OCTOBER 2024 PITTSBURG COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
AROUND THE STATE
The Tulsa Police Special Victims Unit recently conducted
an investigation into multiple reports of sexual assaults by a
massage therapist.
Earlier this month, one victim reported that she had scheduled a massage at Spa Lux Day Spa and Massage with a
massage therapist named Wesley. The reporting victim stated
that Wesley aggressively pulled her hair, applied pressure to
her throat, and exposed and massaged her breasts during the
massage.
The reporting victim stated that the massage therapist also rubbed her stomach and sexually molested her. She reported that the suspect also made sexually suggestive comments toward her. She
reported being in a state of shock, and Tulsa Police were called. The suspect had left the business
prior to Officers arriving on scene.
In May, another reporting victim described a similar encounter. The second victim stated that she
had received a massage at Spa Lux with a massage therapist named Wesley. She reported that
Wesley exposed her breasts, grabbed her genitals, and sexually molested her. The second reporting
victim described being in a state of shock and confusion.
The suspect was ultimately identified as Wesley Adam Cole. OnAugust 27, the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office filed two counts of Rape by Instrumentation against Cole, and he was arrested.
The Special Victims Unit is still investigating this case, and anyone with relevant information can
reach out to the unit directly at 918-596-9168 or at [email protected]
Experiencing any sexual assault is terrifying, distressing and confusing. If you experience a sexual
assault during a massage it is important to realize that whether or not you choose to speak up, your
response is valid. If you feel safe doing so, you can express your discomfort and ask the massage
therapist to stop.
The Tulsa Police Department recommends that you file a police report after any sexual assault
incident so Detectives can investigate and assess the potential for filing of criminal charges.

""IN PRISON FOR A
VERY LONG TIME""
A McAlester man will be “in prison for a very long time”
after he was sentenced for killing one person and seriously
injuring another back in 2022.
Darius Alexander Presley, 23, was sentenced to 37
years and three months in prison for a 2022 murder and
attempted murder in Pittsburg County, according to The
United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of
Oklahoma.
Presley was sentenced to 327 months for one count of Murder in Indian Country – Second
Degree, 240 months for one count of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder in Indian Country,
and 180 months for one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, with the terms of imprisonment set to be served concurrently. In addition, the Court sentenced Presley to a term of
120 months for one count of Using, Carrying, Brandishing, and Discharging a Firearm During
and in Relation to a Crime of Violence, to be served consecutive to the other sentences, for a
total sentence of 447 months.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau
of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the
Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, and the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police and SWAT Team.
On September 13, 2023, Presley pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to investigators, on December 2, 2022, Presley entered a home north of McAlester armed with a handgun. Once inside the residence, Presley shot two individuals, killing
one and seriously wounding the other. Presley then fled the scene of the crime.
A multi-agency search for Presley narrowed to a McAlester residence, where law enforcement discovered Presley barricaded inside. A Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police SWAT team
apprehended Presley without further incident. The crimes occurred in Pittsburg County, within
the boundaries of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Reservation, in the Eastern District of
Oklahoma.
“This sentencing is the result of a multi-agency effort to bring a violent offender to justice,”
said FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Doug Goodwater. “We hope the community
feels safer knowing Mr. Presley will spend decades behind bars for his crimes.”
“The defendant’s vicious acts stole one innocent life and shattered the lives of many others,”
said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson. “I know there is nothing the criminal justice
system can offer to undo the tragedy or remove the heartache, but the sentence imposed will
ensure the defendant will be in prison for a very long time for his senseless crimes. I commend
the bravery and rapid response of law enforcement teams on the ground who capably ended
the crisis, and I am grateful for the diligence of investigators and prosecutors whose teamwork
led to the successful conviction of the defendant.”
Presley will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated
United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration. TYLER D.

CORVETTE SUMMER
A Checotah woman is serious trouble after
she allegedly smashed into a Corvette while
driving drunk and then left the scene.
Elizabeth Lee Gorman, 54, was charged August 20 with endangering others while eluding/
attempt to elude police, leaving scene of accident involving damage, and driving under the
influence of alcohol, in McIntosh County District Court.
According to court documents, Gorman was allegedly driving a 2006 Toyota when she crashed into a 1997 Chevy Corvette at SW 2nd and Owens in
Checotah. She immediately left the scene of the accident.
A Creek Nation Lighthorse police officer caught up to Gorman and activated his lights and siren. Gorman failed to stop for the officer, and accelerated
her vehicle. She was eventually stopped on New Texanna Road, north of
Texanna. It was then determined she was under the influence.
Bond for Gorman was set at $5000 and she is scheduled to next appear in
court on October 2 for her preliminary hearing.

THAT'S METHED UP!
A man who went on a shooting spree after he pulled
a gun on an employee at a Burger King in Colorado after the worker refused to accept drugs as payment has
been sentenced to a staggering 143 years in prison.
Eugene Robertson, 40, was convicted by a Colorado
jury on eight counts, including attempted murder with
extreme indifference, felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, harassment, reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance, according to an Aug. 15
statement from the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office.
According to prosecutors, Robertson pulled up to a Burger King drive-thru window
on Buckley Road in Aurora on Oct. 17, 2022, at around 11 p.m. He tried to pay for his
meal with drugs, prosecutors say, and when the drive-thru employee refused, Robertson
pulled out a gun and pointed it at the worker before eventually driving away.
Not long after that, police responded to a shooting at a 7-Eleven convenience store
across the street from the Aurora Burger King.
“The store clerk said a man walked in and pointed a gun at his head. When the man
noticed a television surveillance camera system, he shot the screen and left the store. In
the parking lot, witnesses reported seeing the man shooting toward another person and
his girlfriend before leaving,” the district attorney’s office said.
No one was injured in the shooting at that convenience store, but just after midnight, as
police were on the lookout for a man matching Robertson’s description, police dispatchers received another emergency call. This time it was a woman calling from an apartment
building on E. Kentucky Avenue, just minutes away from the convenience store.
She said that Robertson was knocking on her door and when she wouldn’t open up,
he opened fire. Multiple people were in the home, but again prosecutors said no one was
injured in the hail of gunfire. Police were searching the grounds of the apartment building
when they spotted Robertson on foot.
He took off into some bushes but was quickly captured and arrested.
Robertson was not a first-time offender. It was reported that prior to the crime spree in 2022, he had
served a sentence of 84 months for felony distribution of crack cocaine, which made it illegal for him to
possess a firearm. The report also noted at the time
of his 2022 arrest, there was an outstanding warrant
in connection with a March 2021 incident in which
he is said to have been involved in a car crash and
shooting before fleeing the scene.
