Three arrested in
Broken Bow shooting
Three people were arrested in connection
with a May 24 shooting near Broken Bow that
left one teen injured and another in ICU.
According to reports, the juvenile and two
young men were loading their boat out of Mt.
Fork River when two men approached them.
The men shot the juvenile twice in the abdomen and assaulted one of the other men. The
third young man was unharmed during the ambush.
A third suspect drove the men out of the area
after the attack.
After an investigation, the suspects were
identified in a photo lineup.
Deputies, tribal police and state troopers followed their leads to home in McCurtain County. There they found the suspected getaway
driver, identified as Alexis Kellam.
The alleged shooters, Idabel man Anthony
Juan Armenta, 30, and 35-year-old Kevin Ray
Ward of Broken Bow, were also at the residence.
The trio eventually surrendered to law enforcement after an hours’ long standoff.
Armenta is being charged with three counts
of shooting with intent to kill and assault and
battery with a deadly weapon, all after former
conviction of felony.
Ward is being charged with three counts of
shooting with intent to kill and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Their bonds were set at $2M, and they are
scheduled to appear in court on August 13,
2020.
Kellam was booked into jail on a conplaint
of accessory after the fact; actual charges and

OSBI OFFERS $5000 REWARD IN 2018
CHOCTAW, OKLA., COLD CASE
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads agents to the persons responsible for the
murder of 35-year-old Eric Trammell.
On August 27, 2018, the Choctaw Police Department requested OSBI
investigate Trammell’s death. He was found on NE 36th Street in Choctaw
and had sustained two gunshot wounds. OSBI agents located video surveillance from the area where he was found and discovered Trammell met
with four men about 30 minutes prior to his murder.
Agents have identified one of the suspects as 20-year-old Jaylen Brown.
Now agents need the public’s help to identify and locate the other three
men. The four suspects arrived together in the same car and were the
ones seen speaking to Trammell before he was shot.
If you have any information about Trammell’s murder or can help identify the men involved, contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.
ok.gov. YOU CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS.
The first image (l-r) has been identified as Jaylen Brown. The second
image is of another suspect going into the store. The third image is of two
suspects speaking with Trammell (who has his back to the camera) and
the fourth image is of the vehicle the four suspects arrived in.

The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office requested
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI)
investigative assistance after a man was pulled
from his burning residence, according to OSBI.
Deputies were called to the 3100 block of East
2105 Road on May 21. When they arrived, along
with Troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol,
they saw that the residence was on fire. Before
the home became fully engulfed, deputies and
troopers were able to pull 47-year-old Joe Ben
“Rusty” Hemingway from the residence. He had
been shot and was deceased.
Based on the investigation, Hemingway’s
27-year-old son Gunnar was identified as a suspect. Gunnar was hiding in a wooded area near the residence. After several hours in the woods, he surrendered peacefully and was arrested by
OSBI agents and deputies from the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office. He
was taken to the Choctaw County Jail and has been charged with Murder
in the First Degree and Arson in the First Degree.
SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AFTER MURDER AND FIRE

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Atoka man Bradley Shawn Pittman, 42, is facing four counts of second-degree murder after he
crashed into a vehicle on May 24, killing four Durant High School students.
Reports state investigators believe Pittman was
under the influence at the time of the crash, since
he has previous DUI charges. His blood alcohol
levels had not been released at time of print.
After being treated for his injuries at a hospital,
Pittman was placed under arrest and locked behind bars.
According to reports, investigators are still investigating what exactly happened during the
crash at the intersection of Main Street and Radio
Road.
Pittman is being charged with four counts of murder in the second degree. His bond was set at $4M, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
July 1, 2020.

OSBI ARRESTS BETHANY MAN AS A RESULT
OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
(OSBI) has arrested 28-year-old Joseph Rogers
after an investigation by the Bureau’s Internet
Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit. The OSBI
investigation was initiated in January 2020 after
a Virginia ICAC unit forwarded images that were
tracked to the Jones, Okla., area. It was determined the images were of a 14-month-old child
and were taken in November 2018.
Rogers is facing multiple charges including Possession, Distribution and Manufacturing of Child
Pornography, Child Abuse and Computer Crimes Act violations. He was
booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a $355,000 bond.

Agents with the Oklahoma State
Bureau of Investigation are looking
into an officer-involved shooting that
took place on the morning of June 3
in Poteau.
According to reports, Poteau police
officers and LeFlore County deputies
were dispatched to a home in the 700
block of Dewey after the homeowner called 911 to report a possible physical domestic disturbance. A Poteau police officer went into the home and
saw 39-year-old Mary Lawrence. He told her to show him her hands.
When the woman lifted up her arms, the officer noticed that she was
holding a knife. The officer told her to drop the knife – she didn’t. Instead,
the woman ran toward the homeowner with the weapon raised.
The officer fired his weapon at the woman.
Law enforcement rendered aid to the woman until paramedics arrived
at the location.
Lawrence was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officer involved has been placed on paid administration leave while
OSBI further investigates the incident.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty MCINTOSH COUNTY 23 | JULY 2020
A Florida man was arrested after trying to shoplift 15 quart-sized bottles of motor oil
and 30 DVDs from a 7-Eleven — by stuffing the items down his pants.
It’s the sort of thing you might not believe unless you saw it yourself. Fortunately (or
not, for the man in question), the heist was captured on store security cameras.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged theft occurred at a 7-Eleven
in Lakeland, Fla.
Polk County Det. Phil Ryan was parked outside the store when he says he looked
through the store window and saw William Jason Hall, 38, stuff bottles of motor oil
down his pants.
“Mr. Hall then dropped several movies from the shelf onto the floor, bent down,
stacked the movies on top of one another, picked them up, and slid them down into his
pants too,” reads a police statement on the department Facebook page.
“Then he waddles like a duck out of the store,” Sheriff Grady Judd with the Polk
County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News 8. “Our detective who is sitting in the car, watching all of this, says to himself, ‘Self, I think I’ll arrest him.’”
The detective then walked Hall back into the store, where he proceeded to empty his
haul: 15 bottles of Pennzoil motor oil, and 30 “Treasure Hunt” DVDs. Oh, and in case
you’re wondering (how could you not be?) the man managed his baggy pants-banditry
by tucking the ends of his pants into large work boots – allowing him to then stuff the
aforementioned motor oil bottles and DVDs.
He was given a charge of petit theft, a misdemeanor, but because this was his third
offense for small theft, the charge was upgraded to a felony.
“Mr. Hall, the next time you need some motor oil and last-minute gifts, please pay for
them,” police said. “That guy in the car outside might just be a plainclothes detective.”
Police say Joseph McInnis III, 21, and Tyree McCoy, 22, attempted to stage an armed
robbery at a pub in Woodlawn, Md. There was just one problem: the bar was hosting
a retirement party for a police officer and so was filled to the brim with off-duty cops.
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police
officers,” Baltimore County police Officer Jennifer Peach told WBAL-TV.
According to police, the two men entered the take-out area of Monaghan’s Pub in
Woodlawn and held up an employee at gunpoint, demanding cash.
Meanwhile, dozens of Baltimore County police officers had converged on the pub to
celebrate the retirement of Sgt. David Neal, a 29-year veteran of the force.
“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a
retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and
alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery,”
Peach said.
The two men fled the bar on foot but didn’t make it far before they were apprehended
by police. Neither police nor any employees of the bar were injured during the robbery
or subsequent foot chase.
Jack Milani, the owner of Monaghan’s Pub, told the Baltimore Sun that he’s surprised
anyone would consider robbing his establishment, a known hangout for off-duty cops.
“It’s kind of odd you would even attempt it,” Milani said. “[Police officers] are always
in here. There was a decent amount of them.”
The two men were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun, and
transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center.
A bank robbery suspect in Gwinnett County, Ga., is accused of making a crucial
mistake following his alleged crime — he let his identity be known.
Eric Rivers was arrested in connection with a spree of bank robberies in Lawrenceville, Ga. after he appeared in an on-camera interview with a local news station for an
unrelated story about public transit.
Lawrenceville police say Rivers was suspected of having just robbed a Chase Bank
and was believed to be in the midst of casing several other banks when he agreed to
the interview with the WGCL-TV reporter.
“You see, when you accept an interview and provide them with your real name it actually makes our job too easy,” a statement from the Lawrenceville Police Department
read.
Rivers removed his hat and du-rag, which he is alleged to have worn during the robberies based on security camera images released by police.
Authorities say after the interview, Rivers proceeded to scope out a Fidelity Bank in
the area.
As police investigated the reported robberies, a bank manager said the suspect
walked towards the WGCL news truck after leaving the building.
Police followed up the lead and was provided Rivers’ name by the news station.
Lawrenceville Police Det. Scott Pendergrass believes the reporter caught Rivers “off
guard” and “surprised” him.
The department offered advice to would-be criminals in a Facebook post. “When
after having robbed several banks and you are at another bank casing the place for an
additional robbery and are approached by a news crew in the parking lot … DO NOT
stop and agree to an interview with said news crew,” the statement read.
Police allege Rivers attempted five robberies in total, but was successful in making
away with money in just two incidents.

A 30-year-old suspect is dead after he allegedly stabbed an officer during a welfare
check on May 27.
According to OSBI, a concerned citizen
saw what he believed to be an intoxicated
man walking along Highway 2 and Main
Street near a convenience store in Wilburton around 8:15 p.m. A Wilburton police officer responded to the scene. When he saw the man, he activated the lights on his
patrol car.
The man, identified as Alexander Scott, threw a bottle at the officer’s door and
started walking toward the driver’s side of the patrol car. As the officer exited his
patrol vehicle, Scott stabbed him several times in the neck and shoulder.
The officer fired his gun at the man. He attempted to render aid to the injured
suspect by applying pressure to his wound until help arrived.
When EMS and other officers arrived at the location, Scott was pronounced
dead at the scene.
The man had previously been arrested in Latimer County for assault and battery
with a dangerous weapon and resisting an officer.
Several agencies are assisting the OSBI with their investigation, including the
Wilburton Police and Fire Departments, Latimer County Sheriff’s Officer, the Oklahoma Officer of the State Medical Examiner and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A 22-year-old man accused of posting “Sad King” stickers and graffiti around the
city of McAlester is facing 41 misdemeanor charges of malicious injury to property.
According to reports, in 2019, a person began painting “Sad King” graffiti and
posting stickers in McAlester.
On April 28, 2019, investigators were advised that McAlester man Evan Reid
Smith, was the one responsible for the vandalism.
After the report was started, Smith’s attorney contacted law enforcement and
said that his client agreed that the incidents would not happen again. Smith also
said he would clean up the graffiti. A McAlester police officer agreed to put the
report on hold if the graffiti was cleaned up.
On May 24, 2019, another officer said he thought Smith was cleaning up the
graffiti, but he had picked up two cans of graffiti remover that had been provided
to Smith.
The graffiti was not cleaned up. Places where the graffiti was located included
numerous businesses, private properties, electrical boxes, billboards, bushes,
stop signs, bridges, signal boxes, light poles, retaining walls and a mural.
The department of McAlester Community Services painted over some graffiti at
a skate park near Electric Avenue and Thirteenth Street and a mural at North Second Street and East Choctaw Avenue.
On May 31, 2019, all of the vandalism except what had been painted over remained.
A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest on May 18, 2020.
Smith is being charged with 41 counts of malicious injury to property under
$1,000. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
June 24, 2020.

McAlester man Morgan Eller was taken into
custody last month after investigators discovered that he allegedly was the person that
had robbed a store in Longtown.
Eller, 20, was charged May 22 with robbery first degree, in Pittsburg County District
Court.
Court documents state that Eller allegedly
went into the Dollar General on May 17, brandished a gun and demanded money from the
clerks. Reports state the clerks told deputies
a black man with a “COVID mask” walked in
and began to shop around the store. He then
brought $200 worth of merchandise to the
counter. When it was time for payment of the
goods, he pulled out a gun, took the merchandise, and money from the cash
register and ran from the store.
A shirt was found outside the store that matched the one the suspect was
wearing in the video surveillance during the robbery.
After investigating tips and leads, a trail of evidence led deputies to Eller.
Eller was taken into custody and transported to the Pittsburg County jail.
Bond was set at $75,000 and his next court appearance is set for June 26
at 8:30 a.m.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children receive
public assistance and their parents pay no child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.
