stupid criminals
When a Wal-Mart employee told a customer that they didn’t accept printed online coupons, he wasn’t prepared for the feisty 61 year
old woman’s response. The assistant manager
got involved, and was called names by the upset costumer. More employees followed her
out to her car. “I have something for y’all”, she
declared as she waved around a 38. special
she had gotten out. The police were called at
this point, and she eventually had to be tasered. The worst part? The coupon only saved $1.
A woman in Virginia called the police after
returning home and finding her Crock Pot
empty of the chicken she had put in earlier.
Instead of assuming she had neglected to start
cooking it in the first place, the woman very
intelligently decided that someone had broken in and stolen it. Yes, snatched a half-raw
chicken from a boiling Crock Pot. There was
no sign of forced entry, but the woman did not
own any pets that could’ve been the culprits.
Anyway, nobody had dinner that night.

An Idabel woman at a local casino
didn’t realize she unwittingly showed security her drugs April 28, police say.
At 9 a.m. that day, tribal police received a report from Idabel Casino security Sgt. Abbie James, who said an unknown female approached the cashier’s
window and took things out of her purse.
However, what the woman didn’t realize is she pulled out a clear plastic bag of
marijuana.
Two other security officers went to the
cashier booth so they could learn more.
They saw a tan bag on the casino bar floor, which belonged to the
woman, the clerk said.
The officers found the woman, Rhonda Sallee, 47, and took her
to the security office. She admitted the tan bag was hers, and when
asked about the contents she said there wasn’t anything suspicious.
However, the bag had multiple unknown pills and small clear plastic
bags, the officers said.
A consented search of her purse turned up the bag of marijuana,
a sunglass case with methamphetamine concealed inside and more
marijuana and methamphetamine in her wallet and purse pockets.
Also, there was a green pill bottle with several small plastic bags of
meth.
Surveillance footage showed Sallee carrying a gray tote and walking around the casino building, and Sallee put the tote right outside
before walking in. In the tote, there were more pills, marijuana and
methamphetamine, and on her person she had a glass pipe and syringe.
Police determined Sallee had 17.2 grams of marijuana and 8.9
grams of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest.
Sallee posted a $5,000 bond May 1. She is due back in court at 9
a.m. June 4.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Winnie B: The officials must be planning to
run for government office. None others are as
stupid!!!
Haley A: So was he supposed to let the
bear attack him then call for help granted he
should’ve called the wild life people first but
really people he’s 76 like this man means any
harm
Becca W: ridiculous! so the make my day law
protects us from human attack but we can’t
defend ourselves against rampaging beasts?!
wtf!
Kelli O: Crazy!
Elissa T: This is ridiculous-that man was well
within his right to protect himself on his own
property-what the hell is that state thinking-if
i were the officials involved in that state in this
case id be so ASHAMED-so glad I’m an Okiethat crap wouldn’t happen hereDarla B: OMG!!!
Brandy M: OMG poor old guy
Margaret T: thats crazy leave the man alone
he was in the right!!!!
Tasha T: So now we aren’t even allowed to
defend ourselves with getting arrested???????
Evan W: THATS BULLS**T!!!!!
Ashley N: Omg its a freaking bear... Lol who
cares... ugh...nice going America... yea... lets
choose obama.... one more time... ugh idiots!
Melvin M: Hell saved his Own Life !!
Kevin C: Thats what they get for electing the
liberal idiots is all i can say
Shawna A: Wow just shows how (beeped) up
the government is and let’s start making BIRD
feeder illegal because it leads to shooting wild
animals that are chasing you in trying to kill
you makes me think would the bear be in jail if
he had killed the man????
Sherida E: Omgoodness how crazy he was
protecting hisself.
Amber V: Ridiculous
Michele H: Everyone that lives around bears
knows that birdseed is NOT OK! That is their
favorite food. I guess if you have never lived
with them this may sound stupid. But I have
and this guy sounds stupid to me! Of course the
guy knew. So, yes, it is called baiting. He is in
the bears habitat and has to take precautions!
John F: That’s is the dumbest thing I have
heard I would have done the same thing
Peewee M: Need to shoot some idiots with
some common sense. Meat is baiting to. Don’t
cook on your grill there. You are just trying to
kill a bear. Damn idiot
John F: He was in his YARD NOT IN THE
BEARS HABITAT 90% of all animal attacks
r done around homes look it up my has bird
feeders so she can watch birds not bears
Brandi M: I never knew bears like BIRD
seed, that ridiculous. The bear could have had
rabies and was attacking him. I’m an animal
person but if it was after me or my familly id
have shot it also. If he really wanted to kill it he
would have put poison in his “bait”.
Kyle T: He walked out knowing the bear was
there, brought a shotgun, he intended to kill it
the whole time. I like how this story makes him
out to be the victim.
A 76-year-old Auburn, Massachusetts man, Richard Ahlstrand,
had spotted a black bear in his backyard around his bird feeders.
He went to fill up his bird feeders, and as a precaution, he took
his shotgun. Sure enough, the black bear showed up and started
to chase the old man. The man aimed his shotgun at the bear and
shot it, killing the bear.
Now he’s facing charges for illegally killing the bear, illegally
baiting the bear, illegal possession of a firearm and failure to secure
a weapon. Because he “murdered” the bear, police confiscated his shotgun as well as two others he
had in his possession. Ahlstrand pointed out the idiocy of his elected officials:
“They got me set up now like I’m some kind of murderer. And then the environmental guy told me,
‘You should have called me instead of shooting it.’ What was I going to do, say ‘Mister Bear, would
you excuse me please while I go make a phone call?’”
Authorities thought that the bear may have had cubs, but as Ahlstrand hadn’t shot the bear, he
may not be here today. He was sure it would have at least mauled him. Ahlstrand recalled that the
bear was about 7 feet tall when it stood on its hind legs, and he estimated it weighed around 300
or 400 pounds.
Officials say the man “baited” the bear with birdseed... Because we all know that bird seed is only
used to bait bears.

POSS OF FIREARM AFCF
A Stringtown man’s rage landed him in jail for an arson complaint
April 14.
That day, Oklahoma State fire marshal agent Trenton Griffin went
with Atoka County deputies to Greasy Bend Road after receiving a
report of multiple structure fires. Once they arrived, they saw three
fires, and the cause of all was incendiary. Two of the three structures
were unoccupied, but one was occupied.
One of the owners of the properties, Hank Magby, 51, reportedly
called a witness and said he would start the fires. The witness told
police Magby became irate on the phone, saying “What are you accusing me of” and “Do you think that’s the only three motherf---ers
that’s going to burn. I’ll burn all y’all’s ***damn houses down.”
Around 10 a.m. that day, the officers went back to the scene and found Magby, who said
he was at home the whole night and never left. His mother told police Magby took her car
and parked it at a neighbor’s house during the night, adding he wasn’t home during the time
of the fires and he was on his way back when he saw flashing lights. Magby left the vehicle
because he was drinking and didn’t want to get pulled over, she said.
Magby has seven previous felony convictions in Atoka County dating as far back as 1997.
The convictions involve possession of controlled substance, feloniously pointing weapons
and carrying firearms, possessing a firearm after a felony conviction, two counts of assault
and battery on a police officer and grand theft auto. He faces between four years to life in
prison if convicted in his arson case.
Magby has court set for 9 a.m. May 15. He remains in custody.

A Coalgate man got himself in some
trouble with police April 14 after he
decided to take their orders a little too
lightly.
At 10 a.m. that day, Coal County
sheriff’s deputy Jarel Bailey said a
man came to the office and said Edgar Buchanan, 26, was sending him
harassing messages, repeatedly calling him and leaving harassing and
threatening voicemails on his phone.
He said he didn’t know Buchanan and
assumed he believed he was talking to
someone else.
Bailey called Buchanan from the
man’s phone, but Buchanan was extremely belligerent. Upon realizing he was talking to police, he said he didn’t do anything wrong.
At 1:30 p.m. that day, another man went to the sheriff’s office and
said Buchanan was sending him harassing and threatening text messages as well. One said, “I will be out there and you better get me first
or shoot me cuz I’m going to hurt you.” That man said Buchanan
believed he was involved with Buchanan’s girlfriend.
Bailey and the undersheriff found Buchanan standing in a yard on
the east side of town, where he was speaking on his phone. When
they tried to arrest him for making threatening calls, however, Buchanan refused to listen to their orders. The undersheriff forcefully
handcuffed Buchanan, which made it worse, as Buchanan started
threatening the officers.
While en route to the patrol car, Buchanan bumped into the undersheriff’s chest on purpose, saying, “You ain’t s---“ and “you don’t
scare me b----.” He also refused to get in the patrol car of his own
will, so he was forcefully put inside. This made him angrier, so Buchanan began head-butting the window all the way to jail.
Buchanan remains in custody. He has court set for 9 a.m. May 9.

Note to criminals: if you’re a suspect in a case, don’t
invite police to your doorstep. An Antlers man learned
that the hard way April 19, police say.
That day, two Pushmataha County sheriff’s deputies
were working on a case when they received a call from
the Rattan Police chief, who said he received a call
from Adam Courtwright, 24, about his broken-down
car. Courtwright was a suspect in a burglary, so the
deputies decided to tag along so they could interview
him about that case.
When they arrived on the scene, they saw Courtwright and his passenger Earnest Nation, 42, sitting inside. When prompted, Courtwright admitted having a meth lab and a .22 revolver in the car, the deputies said.
Courtwright, in an interview, said the lab was in a black bag behind the center console. Nation
put it in the car, he said, and the only thing it needed was pseudoephedrine. While the deputies
worked on getting a search warrant, they had a K-9 sniff the car, and the K-9 alerted to drugs on
both front doors.
During the search, officers found the bag, a hammer, a plastic tube with methamphetamine
residue, 12 clear plastic bags and digital scales, as well as several mason jars, a funnel and coffee
filters. Moreover, they found Drano crystals, syringes and a black case with clear liquid. To seal
the deal, police found a note in the back saying. “Friday’s goal sell a gram Friday after a new cook
and you can have the car for a night out.”
Both men remain in custody on $75,000 bonds each. They have court set for 9:30 a.m. May 8.

Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Police arrested a Caddo pair April 29 after
the woman decided to use scissors for the
wrong purpose.
Around 10:40 a.m. that day, police captain
Chris Orozco received a call from a man who
said he had just been assaulted with a pair of
scissors by Melinda Gerlach, 59, at the 400
block of Court Street. The man said Gerlach
struck him in the face several times with the
scissors and threatened to stab him in the
heart.
When Orozco arrived, he saw Gerlach, who
said she hit the man with the handle of the scissors because she was mad at him. However,
she said he hit her, so she hit him again with the handle and then threatened to stab him.
Gerlach was then arrested on suspicion of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The man, Jasper Blakley, was also arrested for an open warrant from Bryan County. Both
went to the jail, and Blakley filled out a statement detailing the assault.
Turns out, Blakley has a pending leaving the scene of an accident case from 2002. He received a suspended sentence, but has had issues paying bills and other court costs, so he had
a month-old warrant out for him at the time of his arrest. He has court at 3:30 p.m. May 30,
when he will learn whether his probation is revoked.
Gerlach appeared in court April 30 and posted a $2,500 bond the next day, provided she
not have any communication with Blakley. Gerlach has court set for 8:45 a.m. June 6.
Cutting ties... and other things.

I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU, your constant Companion and Provider. The question is whether you are with ME and for Me.
Though I never leave you, you can essentially “leave” Me by ignoring
Me: thinking or acting as if I am not with you. When you feel distance
in our relationship, you know where the problem lies. My Love for you
is constant: I am the same yesterday, today and forever. It is you who
change like shifting sand, letting circumstances toss you this way and
that.
When you feel far from Me, whisper My Name. This simple act, done
in childlike faith, opens your heart to My Presence. Speaking to Me in
love-tones; prepare to receive My Love, which flows eternally from the
cross. I am delighted when you open yourself to My loving Presence.
Genesis 28:15 • Romans 8:31 • Hebrews 13:8
TRUST ME IN EVERY DETAIL OF YOUR LIFE.
Nothing is random in My kingdom. Everything that happens fits into a
pattern for good, to those who love Me. Instead of trying to analyze the
intracacies of the pattern, focus your energy on trusting Me and thanking Me at all times. Nothing is wasted when you walk close to Me. Even
your mistakes and sins can be recycled into something good, through
My transforming grace.
While you were still living in darkness, I began to shine the Light of
My Presence into your sin-stained life. Finally, I lifted you up out of the
mire into My marvelous Light. Having sacrificed My very Life for you, I
can be trusted in every facet of your life.

ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICEr
A brotherly quarrel landed a Hugo
man in custody for a felony assault
charge April 26.
That day, Hugo police Sgt. Jason
Powers was on call helping an injured man at the 500 block of South
Second Street. Powers spoke to the
man, who said he couldn’t remember anything except that a man
started stabbing at him with a knife.
Powers followed a blood trail and
then learned the assault took place
at the home of Billy Cochnauer, 21.
At that point, a woman pulled into
the driveway at Cochnauer’s and
asked if someone had been hurt. She said Billy was in the home, and
Powers, having multiple experiences with Cochnauer involving domestic assault calls, wasn’t taking any chances.
Powers looked through the front door window and saw a large
knife on the kitchen floor, along with a pool of blood. Cochnauer,
for his part, told the officers they couldn’t come in the house, saying
he didn’t do anything wrong. After repeated refusals to get on the
ground, Powers sprayed pepper spray into Cochnauer’s face, which
began a struggle. Eventually, Powers hit Cochnauer in the head with
his flashlight in order to regain control of the situation, he said.
After Cochnauer was arrested, officers called an ambulance to get
treatment for cuts on his hands, which he got from using the knife.
Cochnauer refused treatment, however, so he was taken to the county jail.
Once Cochnauer was away from the scene, officers took photos of
the scene and saw large pools of blood by the refrigerator and in the
living room, as well as on a phone by the bed.
Cochnauer remains in custody on a $20,000 bond. He has court
set for 9:30 a.m. May 28.
