Tommy Blake McCary, 67, of Idabel, entered
a guilty plea to tampering with a witness in federal court, a crime punishable by not more than
20 years imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, or
both.
The Superseding Indictment alleges that between January 7, 2019 and February 9, 2019, McCary did knowingly attempt to corruptly persuade
D.B. to avoid legal process by sending a communication as follows: “tell Ole Girl to make herself
unavailable to be subpeoned to Trial. It is set for
March 5 2019 I want this done immediately”, with
the intent to cause and induce D.B. to evade legal
process summoning D.B. to appear as a witness
in a jury trial.
The charges arose from an investigation by the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United
States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee,
accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Campbell, Mays arrested for
burglaries
Two Pushmataha County men were put in jail after
authorities linked them to a string of burglaries that
began in February.
Reports state Rattan man Brett Campbell, 31, and
27-year-old Kenneth Mays III, of Antlers, were locked
up in March for their involvement in the crimes.
Warrants for the arrest of several more suspects
have reportedly been filed.
When officers tracked down Campbell, he was
driving a vehicle with his wife and baby riding along.
They attempted to stop the man, but he led them on
a high-speed chase. At some point, he jumped out
of the car and took off running, but he was later apprehended by police.
According to reports, the stolen property was valued at more than $100,000. Officers have located
most of the items that were stolen from multiple
homes. The items included ATVs, four wheelers,
trailers, some dirt bikes, and power tools.
Mays is being charged with possession of stolen
vehicle, knowingly concealing stolen property and
possession of firearm after former felony conviction.
His bond was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June
19, 2019.
Campbell is being charged with two counts of burglary in the second degree, two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of false personation of notary public, grand larceny, abuse of a child, eluding a police officer,
petit larceny and driving under suspension. His bond was set at $250,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on May 15, 2019.

Botched robbery leads to
murder charges
Two Texas men were taken into custody after they allegedly shot and killed a man during
a botched robbery in Durant.
Daniel Wayne Dailey, 28, of Trenton, Texas, and Jacqorion Deleon Ellison, 18, of
Sherman, Texas, were both charged March
13 with murder in the first degree, in Bryan
County District Court.
According to the Durant Police Department, on Monday, March 11 at 11:45 p.m.,
Durant Police Officers responded to a shooting in the Econo Lodge parking lot, 2121
West Main. When they arrived, they discovered a 21-year-old male who had been shot
one time. Shortly thereafter, officers were
able to locate the vehicle that was observed
fleeing the scene. The suspects, Daily and
Ellison, were taken to Durant Police Department and interviewed. They admitted it was
a robbery, but when the victim started to fight
back, they shot him. They pair had conspired
to rob the victim of his marijuana that he had
agreed to sell to them.
The victim was pronounced deceased at
AllianceHealth Durant.
Daily and Ellison were arrested following
their interviews and transported to the Bryan
County Jail and booked. Bond was set at
$1M each and their preliminary hearings are
set for July 3 at 1:15 p.m.
