We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

GROWING OLD
A Clayton man will be growing old in prison after he was sentenced to 20 years for federal drug
and firearms crimes.
Troy Michael Goforth, 49, was sentenced to 180
months for one count of Possession with Intent to
Distribute Methamphetamine, and 60 months on
one count of Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime. The terms will
be served consecutively.
The charges arose from a joint investigation by members of Choctaw Nation
Tribal Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the
Federal Bureau of Investigation.
On May 31, 2023, Goforth pleaded guilty to the charges.
On September 21, 2022, Goforth led officers on a high-speed pursuit, during
which Goforth was observed tossing a green duffel bag out of the car before
jumping out of the vehicle and fleeing on foot. Upon apprehending and arresting
Goforth, officers discovered a loaded 9mm pistol tucked into Goforth’s waist
band. During a subsequent search of the nearby ditch, officers recovered the
green duffel bag, which contained syringes, baggies, digital scales, and over
500 grams of methamphetamine.
Goforth was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal Service
pending sentencing.

Farmer faces jail for breeding ‘massive mutant sheep’
A farmer has been caught illegally breeding “massive” mutant sheep
to sell to private hunting reserves for up to $10,000, a court in Montana
heard.
Arthur “Jack” Schubarth, 80, who owns a 215-acre ranch in Vaughn,
Montana, pleaded guilty to criminal charges of wildlife trafficking and
conspiracy to traffic wildlife at a court in Great Falls.
Prosecutors say he illegally used tissue and testicles from wild sheep
killed by hunters in Central Asia, and the US, to breed hybrid sheep
for sale.
According to court documents, Schubarth conspired with at least five other people between 2013 and 2021 to
create a larger hybrid species of sheep that would generate high prices from shooting reserves, where people pay
to hunt captive trophy game animals.
Schubarth’s ranch specialises in the purchase, sale and breeding of “alternative livestock” such as mountain
sheep, mountain goats and various ungulates, according to prosecutors. They claimed that Schubarth secretly
brought parts of the largest sheep in the world, the Marco Polo argali sheep from Kyrgyzstan, into America.
Marco Polo males, which are native to the mountains of the Pamir region of Central Asia, can weigh more than
22 stone with horns that span more than 5ft. They are protected species internationally and the court also heard
how they are prohibited in Montana to protect native sheep from disease and hybridisation.
Prosecutors say Schubarth sent genetic material from the Marco Polo’s body parts to a lab to create cloned
embryos. He then implanted the embryos in ewes on his ranch, resulting in a single, pure genetic male Marco Polo
that he named “Montana Mountain King” or MMK, the court heard.
Court documents stated that Schubarth worked with the others to use the Montana Mountain King’s semen to
artificially impregnate various other species of ewes and create hybrid animals. He agreed to sell one offspring to
two people in Texas for $10,000, the court heard.
To move the prohibited sheep in and out of Montana, Schubarth and others forged veterinary inspection certificates, falsely claiming that the sheep were legally permitted species, the court heard. Prosecutors said Schubarth
also sold semen from the Montana Mountain King directly to sheep breeders in other states.
“This was an audacious scheme to create massive hybrid sheep species to be sold and hunted as trophies,”
said Todd Kim, assistant attorney general. “In pursuit of this scheme, Schubarth violated international law and the
Lacey Act, both of which protect the viability and health of native populations of animals.”
The Lacey Act prohibits trade in wildlife that has been taken, possessed, transported or sold in violation of
federal or state law.
Schubarth also illegally purchased genetic material from a Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, the largest wild
sheep in North America which stand around three feet tall and can weigh over 21 stone, to traffic to buyers in other
states. He paid $400 to a hunter for the testicles from one of the wild sheep, which had been shot in Montana, to
breed more of the species and crossbreed with the argali
sheep.
“The kind of crime we uncovered here could threaten
the integrity of our wildlife species in Montana,” Ron Howell,
head of state wildlife enforcement, said.
Each count carries a maximum penalty of five years in
prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing for Schubarth is set
for July 11.
On a Facebook page in his name which features numerous photos of livestock, Schubarth wrote two days ago:
“We have not been able to sell sheep for about three years
now. First time in 80 plus years I’m broke.” JANIECE

An Atoka pair is facing felony drug charges after OBN investigators found drugs at a home last
month.
Clayton Travis Bellotte, 58 And Lisa Dawn Bellotte, 59, were both charged with Distribution of
CDS and Conspiracy, in Atoka County District
Court.
According to the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office,
on March 18, the Atoka County Sheriff’s Office
and members of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 3 near Lane. While conducting the search warrant, OBN agents and Atoka
County deputies located several ounces of controlled dangerous substance, and firearms. Two
stolen firearms were among those recovered.
As a result of this search warrant, the two individuals turned themselves in to officials at the Atoka County Jail on warrants issued through Atoka
County District Court.
Bond for both Clayton and Lisa were set at
$50,000 and they were ordered to appear in court on April 24 for their preliminary hearing.

DRUG BUST
On April 14, Coalgate Police Department alongside Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police Department conducted a traffic stop and recovered approximately 11 grams of marijuana, approximately 20 multi-color pills, and a small
baggie of green powder. The pills are believed to be ecstasy that was laced
with fentanyl according to field testing conducted by the officers.
AROUND THE NATION
On April 1, at approximately 11:45 am, drug agents
with the Colbert County (Alabama) Drug Task Force
conducted at traffic stop on South Hook Street in
Tuscumbia. After speaking with the driver, consent to
search the vehicle was given.
The passenger was identified as Jamarious Dequan Qualls, 29, of Russellville, AL. It was confirmed
that Qualls had misdemeanor warrants for
his arrest in the city of
Sheffield. During arrest agents located two plastic containers with 176 fentanyl pills inside and a plastic bag
containing 1oz of “spice”synthetic cannabis.
Qualls was charged with drug trafficking and unlawful
possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Qualls is being held in Colbert County Jail on a
$150,000 bond.
8 kids a day are accidentally killed
or injured by FAMILY FIRE.
FAMILY FIRE is a shooting involving an improperly

AROUND THE STATE
On March 30, 2024, the Texas County Sheriff’s
Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation to investigate the suspicious disappearance of 27-year-old Veronica Butler and
39-year-old Jilian Kelley.
Their vehicle was found abandoned near Highway 95 and Road L, south of
Elkhart, Kansas, in rural Texas County. OSBI special agents immediately began
investigating the vehicle and determined there was evidence to indicate foul play.
On April 13, 43-year-old Tad Bert Cullum, 54-year-old Tifany Machel Adams,
50-year-old Cole Earl Twombly, and 44-year-old Cora Twombly were arrested in
Texas and Cimarron Counties. All four individuals were booked into the Texas
County Jail on two counts of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Kidnapping,
and one count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the First Degree.
On April 14, the OSBI, FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation, Texas County
Sheriff’s Department, and the Office of the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner
recovered two deceased persons in rural Texas County. Both individuals will be
transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine identification, as well
as cause and manner of death. This is still an ongoing investigation. Anyone with
information regarding this case is asked to contact the OSBI at [email protected]
or 1-800-522-8017.

DRUG DEALING FOR DUMMIES:
CHAPTER 2
In This Chapter You Will Learn:
• Rule Number One: Don’t Be A Drug Dealer
• Rule Number Two: No Matter What, Don’t Be A Drug Dealer
• Rule Number Three: If You Are Gonna Transport Drugs Don’t Do Stupid &#!t!!
• Rule Number Four: K-9’s Can Smell Your Dope
To truly understand the importance of the four basic rules listed above, let’s look at what happened last year
to Anthony Riposta and Aaron Esposito, who not only forgot basic rule number one, but apparently didn’t follow
any of the basic rules and as such, found themselves in jail with the other drug dealers that couldn’t follow the
rules either!!
Not only did they forget the importance of not being a scumbag drug dealer, but they also forgot that if you are
going to be a drug dealer, you better not do dumb stuff like making an illegal turn. As is often the case when you
violate these simple, but yet important rules, the Deputies usually show up, a big giant dog sniffs your vehicle, and
then you get cuffed and stuffed in the back of a patrol car as we seize your illegal drugs!!
In yet another classic example of what happens when you ignore the advice provided in “Drug Dealing For Dummies”, a deputy stopped a vehicle being driven by Riposta and made contact with him and his little friend Esposito.
The deputy then gets a little help from his friends, another deputy and his K-9 deputy partner, who alerts on the
vehicle, and then Riposta and Esposito are soon on their way to jail!!
Located during a search of the vehicle on the dash were three orange pills that were subsequently determined
to be Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine. Also located on the dash was a single broken white pill that field-tested
positive for cocaine, and 35 additional orange pills that were determined to be Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine.
The pills were contained in a green prescription bottle with the prescribed persons’ name ripped off. The pill bottle
was located in the center console of Riposta’s vehicle, next to two prescription pill bottles with Riposta’s name on
them.
As a result of the vehicle search, Riposta was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled
Substance and given a free ride to jail, where he got some nice, slightly used shower slides and a gift certificate for
a Honey Bun from the inmate commissary!!
Oh and his little friend Esposito…yeah he took the ride too as a lawful search of his person produced four
baggies that were hidden in his underwear that contained a clear crystal substance which field-tested positive
for methamphetamine and weighed a total of 13.7 grams. He also had two baggies containing a white powdery
substance that field-tested positive for fentanyl and weighed a total of 8.9 grams. Additionally, he had three orange
pills that were identified as Buprenorphine/
Naloxone, and five purple pills that were
identified as Alprazolam/Xanax that were
also hidden in his underpants as well!!
Esposito was subsequently placed under arrest for Trafficking in Methamphetamine and two counts of Possession of a
Controlled Substance Without Prescription.
Esposito also got a luxurious package at the
jail when he arrived, that included shower
slides, tailored striped suit, and a thorough
search by our very accommodating staff
since he likes to hide stuff in his undies!!

On March 27, Arkansas City Police Department
officers executed a search warrant at Cowley College’s Kirk Dale Dorms, cumulating a month-long
counterfeit currency investigation.
Over the past month, officers have been getting
reports of a male individual going to a local business and paying or attempting to pay with what
was believed to be counterfeit currency.
Officers talked with employees and witnesses and developed a suspect, Lam
Gok Kuany, 20, of Nebraska.
ACPD officers, in cooperation with Cowley College Campus Security, executed a search warrant at Kirk Dale Dorms. Inside the room, they found over
$28,000 in different denominations in what is believed to be counterfeit currency.
Officers also located suspected illegal substances and items associated with
their use.
Kuany, a Cowley College men’s basketball player, was taken into custody on
March 28, 2024, without incident. He faces five counts of counterfeiting currency, four counts of theft by deception, possession of marijuana, and possession
of drug paraphernalia. His Bond is $17,500.

ROCHA SENTENCED TO 5 YRS FOR
INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER
Chase Lane Rocha, age 21, of Boswell, was
sentenced to 60 months in prison for one count
of Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country.
The charges arose from investigations by the
Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Lighthorse Police, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner
of Oklahoma.
On October 4, 2023, Rocha was found guilty by a federal jury at trial of one
count of Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country. According to investigators,
on January 24, 2023, after family members had twice disarmed him during a
dispute at a Boswell-area residence, Rocha returned a third time, armed with a
revolver. During the third attempt to disarm Rocha of a firearm, Rocha shot and
killed the victim. The crime occurred in Choctaw County, within the boundaries
of the Choctaw Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The Honorable David C. Joseph, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, sitting by assignment, presided
over the hearing in Muskogee. Rocha was remanded into the custody of the
U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of
Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
