SANDOVAL
An Idabel man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine
after police were dispatched to his residence on Nov. 2.
According to the affidavit, Idabel police were dispatched to the
residence of Carlos Alberto Sandoval, 42, because he was allegedly
threatening individuals.
When police arrived, they made contact with a woman and three
small children, who were huddled in a blanket on the front porch.
The woman told police that Sandoval had threatened to harm her
and the children. The oldest child immediately told police, “He
threatened me.” The woman told police that Sandoval was inside
the house.
Police stepped inside the home and found Sandoval speaking on
the phone in an unknown language. An officer asked Sandoval what was going on and why
the police had been called.
Sandoval told police that nothing was going on and that he had been at work all day. He
pointed to a piece of paper that had what appeared to be a picture of a ladder or railroad
tracks.
Police asked Sandoval why they had been told that he had been threatening the woman
and children. Sandoval said that they were lying.
The woman told police that Sandoval had narcotics either on him or in his room. Sandoval
denied the accusation and told police they could search his room.
In the room, police found a glass light bulb with the metal bottom broke off that had a
white powder in it. Due to the officer’s training and experience, he recognized the light bulb
as a device commonly used to inhale narcotics, the affidavit states.
Police placed Sandoval into custody and transported him to jail.
At the police department, the officer field-tested the white powder that was inside of the
light bulb and it tested positive for methamphetamine.
Sandoval is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $5,000 and he is scheduled to
appear in court on Nov. 20, 2013.

Like true historic
adventure accounts?
The Bible has them.
Korah learned that
God’s power is greater
than his.
Korah complained
against Moses, but
God chose Moses to
lead Israel. Moses
tells him, “Therefore
you and all your
company are gathered
together against the
Lord” (read Numbers
16:16 in your Bible).
God takes it personally when we don’t honor His servants.
Moses was chosen to lead Israel, but the people grumbled.
They didn’t get what they wanted. We are no different than
Korah and his friends.
We don’t take responsibility to change ourselves, we keep
doing the same things, and when we’re caught or suffer, we
complain and blame others.
What happened to Korah? Read it for yourself in your
own Bible, Numbers 16:28-38. Imagine the horror of this
tragic event! Can history repeat itself? Yes!
Bible Says:
History Repeats Itself

Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a substitute
teacher after students reported she was intoxicated and passed
out in a classroom office at Millwood High School.
April Chamberlain, 30, was supposed to be acting as a
substitute in a biology class. Students said she appeared
disoriented and used profanity. When students found
Chamberlain asleep in the office, they contacted a coach, who
informed the principal.
The principal said after she repeatedly shouted and tapped
Chamberlain on the shoulder, the substitute woke up. The principal said
Chamberlain had blood-shot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol.
When a deputy arrived, she saw an open bottle of Canadian Whisky in
Chamberlain’s purse. The deputy also noted Chamberlain kept slurring and was
unsteady on her feet.
Chamberlain was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail for public
drunkenness.

More than 100,000 children and youth in the
U.S. foster care system are awaiting permanent
families. National Adoption Month is a time to
raise awareness about the adoption of children
and youth from foster care.
The Children’s Bureau in partnership with
AdoptUSKids and Child Welfare Information
Gateway sponsors the initiative each November
as a way to focus public attention on the urgent
need for adoptive families for children and
youth waiting in foster care for a permanent
family. This year’s focus, “Partnering for Permanency,” builds on the social media theme
from last year. A special web page on Information Gateway’s website helps child welfare
professionals, prospective adoptive parents, and youth partner for permanency. The website
contains resources, stories, and videos on topics such as getting started with social media,
how to build a recruitment campaign, and how social media impacts child welfare and
adoption. The website can be found at http://www.childwelfare.gov/adoption/nam.

An Atoka man was taken into custody after he held his girlfriend hostage
during an intoxicated rage on Oct. 26.
Bryan Hise, 43, was charged in Atoka
County District Court on Oct. 29 with a
felony kidnapping charge and a misdemeanor charge of making threatening
phone calls.
According to the police affidavit, police were called to the 400 block of S.
Center Point Road in reference to a
man making threatening phones calls
to the residents. When the officer arrived, he was met by a man with a rifle and one with a handgun. He
asked the men to put their weapons away, which they complied.
The older man told the officer that Hise called him and threatened
to kill him. He had received the call from his ex-wife’s phone, who
was currently living with Hise.
The officer called the phone number and Hise answered, obviously
intoxicated. When asked where the ex-wife was, Hise said he did not
know.
A short time later, the ex-husband received a call from the ex-wife
stating she was at the neighbor’s house and had been abused by Hise.
The officer went to where the ex-wife was and took a statement.
She said Hise had been drinking and had shot something in his arm.
He was also very jealous of where she had been earlier in the day. As
the evening went on, Hise became more agitated and began threatening her. When she tried to leave, he pulled her back inside the house
by her hair. He then took her car and she believed he was going over
to her ex’s house to do him harm.
Hise was picked up a couple of days later and booked into the Atoka County Jail.

A cigarette smokin’ Centrahoma inmate found himself in even more
trouble after he was caught smoking cigs that he had snuck into the jail
in his tighty-whities.
On Oct. 25, Justin Dale Madison, 24, was booked into the Coal County
Jail due to a Drug Court violation, according to the affidavit.
A Coal County deputy and Drug Court officer performed a strip search
of Madison during booking. They didn’t find anything illegal during the
search, and they placed him in a cell. Unfortunately, Madison was harboring a secret that not even Victoria would want to know about.
Not long after he was placed in a holding cell, the deputy was informed
that Madison had brought possible contraband items into the jail. Deputies checked the area
where Madison was locked up and immediately smelled the odor of cigarette smoke coming
from Madison’s cell.
The deputies spoke to Madison who told them, “I brought two cigarettes into the jail concealed in my underwear.”
The deputies found a single cigarette in Madison’s bunk. They asked him where the other
cigarette was and he replied, “I already smoked it.”
Apparently, Madison was not only willing to risk getting himself in more trouble for smoking in jail; he was apparently also desperate for some tobacco and willing to risk his life for a
nicotine fix. The deputies discovered that he had used a pencil inserted into the electrical plug
to light his contraband cigarette.
Madison is being charged with bringing contraband into county jail. His bond was set at
$1,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 6, 2013.

charges were filed in Pushmataha County District Court on Oct. 30 against an
Antlers man who did quite a bit of damage to another man.
Police are still on the lookout for David
Chumbley, 36, who has managed so far
to elude being caught by officials.
According to the police report, Antlers Police Officer Jake Merck was called
to a home on Oct. 4 in the 100 block of
NW 4th Street in reference to an assault.
There, he found the victim unresponsive.
A woman attending the injured man said Chumbley had hit the victim several times in the face and in the groin area and then left.
The victim was taken to the Pushmataha County hospital and then
onto Tulsa where he was treated for broken bones to his face. He also
had several loose teeth.
If you have have any information on the whereabouts of Chumbley,
call the Pushmataha County Sheriff at (580) 298-2475.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Oklahoma couple Elizabeth Pester, 33, and Mark Knapp,
48, have been jailed after they nearly starved their 3-year-old
daughter to death while they allegedly immersed themselves in
an online video game.
Second Life, an online 3d world where players can create an
entirely new virtual identity and then interact with other players
using that identity, became more than a game to Elizabeth
Pester and Mark Knapp.
It almost became a death sentence for the couple’s 3-year-old
daughter, who withered away while her parents spent the bulk
of their time on a computer, pretending to be a married couple in their new virtual world.
According to police, the problem began almost immediately after the child’s birth.
Investigators say DHS agents took the couple’s newborn into protective custody just a couple of
weeks after her birth. Case workers noted that Pester and Knapp had refused to spend much time with
the newborn, and the child was having feeding issues as a result.
In 2011, the child was returned to her parents in healthy condition, however it didn’t take long before
the feeding issue returned, and in a far more severe way.
In June, 2012, the little girl was taken to a local hospital where she weighed just 13 pounds and
appeared seriously malnourished. DHS responded by referring the child’s parents to a therapist who
would weigh the child on a weekly basis. That therapist saw the child just four times and weighed the
child twice over a five month period, according to court documents.
Pester and Knapp have been booked into the Tulsa County jail and charged with child abuse and
neglect. Bond has been set at $50,000 each.

The arrest of a woman led to the arrest
of another after the first told police where
she had purchased her methamphetamine.
On Nov. 3, a Colbert police officer was on
patrol when he observed a vehicle speeding
40 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to the
affidavit. He noticed that the female driver
of the vehicle was acting very nervous, and
her body and hands were shaking. The officer asked the driver if he could search her
vehicle and she gave him consent.
During the search, the officer found a
clear plastic baggie that contained a crystal-like substance that later
field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The driver was taken to
jail.
At the jail, the subject told that officer that she had obtained the
meth from Colbert resident Belinda Sue Bregman, 52. She added
that Bregman was involved with stealing items from stores and selling the stolen goods in her home.
On Nov. 4, police served a search warrant at Bregman’s residence.
In the house, police found baggies that contained a crystal-like
substance, a digital scale and glass smoking pipes.
Police also found items in the living room that appeared to be stolen. Bregman insisted she had purchased some of the items, but was
unable to produce any receipts.
She admitted to stealing some of the merchandise and told police
that she often returns items to stores for gift cards.
Bregman was arrested and transported to the Bryan County Jail.
Bregman is being charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was freed on a $26,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5, 2013.

A woman in Florida got so excited after stealing
a family’s Apple technology that she decided to take
some selfi es of her own. She had stolen an iPad
and an iPod Touch out of their car while they were
visiting one of Florida’s regional parks. Apparently
not realizing that photos taken on an Apple device
will show up on the computer, her selfi es surfaced
on the family’s iCloud account two weeks later. All of
these pictures are able to be located geographically.
A middle-aged man was stopped by police as he
rode his horse down the streets of Colorado. Why?
He was seen hitting the horse, but told the police
there was a fl y on his head. Further investigation
revealed that he had a small gun, a pug (yes, you
understood correctly), and beer cans in tow. Not
surprisingly, he failed an intoxication test and was
charged with animal cruelty, possession of weapons,
and drunk riding.
Have you ever accidentally gotten high? Like,
you thought it was a normal brownie, or normal
mushrooms. But nope, turns out you’re absolutely
tripping. Good luck explaining that one to the
police. The only thing less convincing than that is…
”accidentally” growing marijuana on your property.
This is exactly what happened to a 73 year old man,
who claims he found the seeds in a random box and
decided to plant them. Lo and behold, up grows
some weed. The man showed no sign of being a
pot smoker, yet paid the $200 dollar ticket without
argument anyway. Hopefully he’ll stay away from
mystery seeds from now on.
How impatient do you get when waiting for your
food to microwave? Worse yet is when you fi nally
think it’s done, but the plate is a burning fi re disc
from the sun’s core and your food could have been
found in the fur of a frozen wooly mammoth from
the arctic. How mad would you get? Hopefully not
angry enough to use the microwave as a weapon, like
a guy in St. Louis. A 43 year old man and a 36 year
old man got into a heated argument over “personal
matters”, resulting in a knife being pulled and a
microwave oven being thrown. Both were admitted
to the hospital with serious forehead wounds. I
don’t remember these being part of the Easy Mac
directions???
We’ve all seen those movies about crazy people
who believe demons live in their house, right?
Terrifying stuff , but the demons are probably more
scared of you than you are of them. Just…grab a
big shoe. And kill all the fl ies so they have nothing
to eat. Oh. Maybe I’m thinking of something else,
something scarier. One guy in Arizona was so
freaked out he almost burnt down the house. With
his roommates still home, he started a fi re in his
bedroom closet where he believed they were hiding.
He used paint thinner, and is reported to have been
reciting Bible verses. He said he had planned to tell
the police but forgot, and he was admitted to the
hospital with burns on his feet. The important thing
is, the house is now 100% demon free.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol
This month’s Tips is less of a tip
than it is a serious request for help
from you, the motoring public. I
would like to make a personal appeal to each and every reader who
sees this to help us Troopers try to eliminate one of the toughest
jobs that we ever have to do. It is something that everyone who
drives can have an impact on.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is tasked with the investigation
of motor vehicle accidents on the public roadways outside the city
limits in the State of Oklahoma. In the course of this, we investigate
a huge number of fatalities. For each fatality victim, it is the duty
of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to personally notify the next of
kin. For each life lost, there is a knock on a door somewhere, where
an OHP Trooper has to deliver news that will forever change the
lives of the person or persons on the other side. Sadly, these knocks
on the door could have been prevented by somebody involved in
the accident. Sometimes it’s the person who died whose unsafe or
unlawful action caused the accident that took their life. Often times
it is not.
Each and every Trooper you see working the roads every day has
had to knock on that door. I think if you asked, every single one
would tell you this is the worst aspect of our job. Trying to prevent
this is one of the reasons we do what we do. We know if we work
hard, we can stop some of these knocks. We also know the motoring
public can help us stop some of these knocks as well. The following
are just a few ways for you to do your part to help.
First and foremost, obey the law. It really doesn’t matter if
your personal opinion of the rules of the road don’t make sense,
or shouldn’t apply in certain situations. Each one of them is
designed for us to travel safely on the road. Slow down, and give
your full, undivided attention to the road. Watch out for the other
driver. When you see something happening ahead of you, slow
down! “I was late”, or “I was texting” just doesn’t cut it as responses
to a grieving family when they ask why this happened. Is it
something you could live with if it was your reason for taking a life?
The people on the other side of that knock aren’t the only ones
affected by the experience. We Troopers have all held strangers as
the initial horror and shock of the news takes hold of them. We
have all prayed with families we just met, and asked if we could have
done more to prevent it. Each and every day we are trying to stop
The Knock. Now I’m asking you to help us. Thanks for reading,
buckle up, and be safe!

A night he soon won’t forget
Rogelio Andaverde, a 34-year-old Texas man, was jailed Oct 10
after he allegedly faked his own kidnapping in an effort to dump
his wife for a night of partying.
According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Andaverde
and his wife were home at around 10:30 p.m. that night when two
masked men broke into their home and kidnapped Andaverde at
gunpoint.
Investigators say the Sheriff’s Office launched a manhunt, but
called it off a few hours later when no leads developed on the case.
Andaverde arrived back home that morning, explaining to his
wife that his captors “just let him go.”
When officers arrived on the scene to interview Andaverde,
something about his explanation didn’t sound right to them.
Andaverde was taken into custody and interviewed again at the Sheriff’s Office.
He reportedly admitted to investigators that he fabricated the kidnapping because he
wanted to go out drinking with his friends.
“I don’t think his wife appreciated being kept until 4 or 5 in the morning, being interviewed
by the cops while her husband was out doing who knows what with who knows who,” said
Hidalgo County Sheriff, Guadalupe Trevino. “He’s going to have a lot of answering to do.”
Andaverde was booked into jail and charged with making a false report to police. He was

One rule in Oklahoma is you don’t
come between a man and deer-hunting
during deer season. A Fort Towson
man was locked up after he failed to acknowledge this unspoken rule by stealing another man’s deer cameras.
According to the affidavit, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office was first notified about the stolen cameras on Oct.
22. A deputy went to the victim’s deer
lease in reference to three stolen deer
cameras and found a set of footprints at
the trees where the cameras had been
hanging. He followed the footprints to
a residence, but the owner was not home. The deputy spoke to a man
at the residence, but he denied knowing anything about stolen game
cameras.
The deputy went back to the residence on Oct. 26 and spoke to the
owner and Michael Wayne Covington, 27, who also lived at the residence. Both men denied knowing anything about the stolen cameras.
On Nov. 11, the deputy received a call from the victim, who told him
he had received information that Covington had sold the cameras.
After speaking to the man that had purchased the cameras, the evidence was strong that Covington was indeed the perpetuator responsible for stealing the cameras off of the deer lease.
The deputy obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the
search, Covington admitted to taking the deer cameras.
While searching the residence, the deputy found a rifle in the bedroom that Covington said was his. According to the affidavit, Covington is a convicted felon and cannot be in possession of a firearm.
Covington is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property, possession of firearm after former conviction of a felony and petty larceny. His bond was set at $15,000 and he is scheduled to appear
in court Nov. 19, 2013.
Don’t you deer steal
my stuff!
