On Monday, January
30, 2017, Stillwater Police
became aware of a threat
posted on Facebook Live
by three juveniles (two
current students and one
former student). The juveniles, ages 15 and 16,
were observed streaming
live videos which contained threats directed toward school administrators and a School Resource Officer. In one of the videos, one of the juveniles was holding
what appeared to be a real handgun.
The three juveniles were subsequently arrested for the threats and
violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act. School officials have
cooperated fully with the Stillwater Police and are conducting their own
internal inquiry.
The case has been forwarded to the Payne County District Attorney
and the Office of Oklahoma Juvenile Services, Juvenile Services Unit.

On Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at approximately 8:05p.m., Stillwater Police were
dispatched to the Sequoyah Group Home,
103 E. 32nd, in reference an altercation that
had just occurred between two clients.
One of the clients was unconscious and believed to be in cardiac arrest. Stillwater Fire
Department and LifeNet ambulance were dispatched to the home.
Officers arrived on scene to find Terry Lynn
Brown, 44, of Stillwater, unconscious on the
floor of the living room. Medical personnel
treated and transported Brown to the Stillwater Medical Center emergency room. Attempts to resuscitate Brown were unsuccessful. He was later pronounced dead.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to
the hospital. The investigation led to the arrest of Justin Taylor Bean, 22,
of Stillwater, for the death of Brown. The case is still under investigation.

DOUBLE HOMICIDE SUSPECT ARRESTED
Police have located and arrested the
man accused of killing two people at a gas
station in Sapulpua on January 22.
Heath Patrick Haney, 37, of Disney, was
charged January 30 with two counts of
murder, first degree- deliberate, and robbery, first degree, in Creek County District
Court in Sapulpua.
Reports state Haney entered the station,
pulled out a gun and shot the owner/clerk,
Mohid Khandker, in the back of the head.
He then stepped over the body, got cash
out of the register and several packs cigarettes from the store.
While Haney was behind the counter,
40-year-old Robert Fields walked into the store and Haney allegedly shot
Fields in the face, killing him.
Another customer found the victims’ bodies about an hour after the incident.
Police released surveillance pictures of the suspect and several people
called in and identified the suspect as Haney. His mother was one of the
callers.
Haney was arrested in Disney the next day. Delaware County deputies had
picked him up on a burglary complaint, and when they discovered they had
the Sapulpua gas station murder suspect, they called Sapulpua police.
Haney is currently in the Creek County jail being held without bond. His
preliminary hearing is set for February 7 before Judge Richard Woolery.

During the recent OSBI Awards Ceremony, the Bureau recognized the stellar work
performed on a cold case homicide that
solved the mystery. Special Agent Amie
Gates and Cold Case Special Investigator
Clif Gann worked together to determine
who killed an elderly woman more than 30
years ago.
In March 1985, Roxie Webb was stabbed
and strangled to death inside her Guymon
home. The police department requested
OSBI investigative assistance. For years,
special agents followed leads, but the case grew cold; however, OSBI
special agents would regularly review the case.
Special Agent Amie Gates inherited the case and began working with
local law enforcement to remind them of the brutal murder of the elderly woman. She also called upon Cold Case Investigator Clif Gann. The
two developed a lead through the Texas County Sheriff’s Office from an
inmate. That inmate had been told of the murder by the man who said
he was involved. That information led to a witness who had been married
to one of the suspect. That man had since died, giving the woman confidence she could speak with law enforcement.
Information provided from those interviews, gave special agents names
and detailed information about the murder only the killers and investigators knew. A check with Vital Statistics showed all three men had died.
However, these agents presented a report to the district attorney. District
Attorney Mike Boring felt the evidence was so strong he issued a letter
indicating there would have been sufficient basis to file charges on the
three men.
The relentless efforts by Special Agent Amie Gates and expertise of
seasoned Cold Case Investigator Clif Gann finally put to rest a murder
mystery never forgotten.

ALL IN THE FAMILY
A 44-year-old Chandler man was locked up after he
allegedly stole a man’s trailer and then shot him on January 11.
His only reason was that he had the right to protect
his motorcycle.
According to the affidavit, a Lincoln County deputy
was dispatched to A Street and Broadway in Davenport
shortly after 5 p.m. to investigate a shooting.
Before the deputy arrived on scene, other officers
advised him they had stopped the suspect east of the
location. The man was identified as Brian Ray Keeling.
The deputy made contact with the victim, who had a
gunshot wound to his upper left leg. He asked the man who shot him -- the
victim replied that it was Keeling.
The deputy checked the scene and found a spent brass shell casing in the
roadway just west of where the victim had been shot. A witness who lived at
the intersection where the shooting took place said a few days prior to the
incident, someone in a white van pulled up the to victim’s house and took the
victim’s trailer.
The witness said he told the victim what he had seen. The white van then
later returned to the victim’s residence. He said he watched the victim and
two other men confront the person in the white van. During the confrontation,
the driver of the vehicle pulled out a small black pistol and fired once at the
victim. The witness said he wasn’t able to see the shooter’s face.
When the deputy asked Keeling about the accusations, he only uttered that
he had a right to protect his family, and his motorcycle was part of his family.
In the front seat of Keeling’s vehicle, the deputy found an empty pistol holster. A records check revealed that the man was a convicted felon.
He was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Keeling is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon after former conviction of a felony, possession of firearm after former felony conviction and possession of firearm during commission of felony. His bond was
set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 30, 2017.

drive right beside a semi. Allow them
to maintain the proper space they
need to make turns, especially right

Share the Road with Large Trucks-Don’t Hang Out in the “No-Zone”!
Q: What is the “No-Zone”?
A: The “No-Zone” refers to the blind spot areas around large commercial vehicles, or the areas where cars are so close to the truck or bus that the driver’s
ability to stop or maneuver safely is restricted.
Q: Why do I need to know about the “no-zone”?
- Knowing about the “no-zone” areas around large vehicles will help you
to steer clear of unsafe situations involving large vehicles and help reduce
crashes.
- There are more than 250,000 crashes involving cars and trucks every year.
Many could be avoided by keeping these important points in mind:
- Large vehicles have much more sizable blind spots than cars do.
- Large vehicles also have deep blind spots directly behind them. If you are
driving behind a truck or bus and you can’t see one of its side view mirrors,
the driver can’t see you.
- At times, truck and bus drivers need to swing wide to the left to make a
right turn. Don’t cut in between the vehicle and the curb or the shoulder to
the right.
- Large vehicles cannot stop as quickly as cars. When passing, look for the
whole front of the vehicle in your rear view mirror before pulling in front of the
truck or bus.
- After passing don’t slow down.

Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Lola’s vest is
sponsored by Kimberley Black of Jackson, WY and embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided
by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc”.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c
(3) charity located in East Taunton, MA
whose mission is to provide bullet and
stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and
related agencies throughout the United States. The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9 officers. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provided over 2,200 protective vests, in 50 states, through
private and corporate donations, at a cost of over 1.9 million dollars. All vests
are custom made in the USA by Armor Express in Central Lake, MI.
The program is open to dogs actively employed in the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and at least 20 months of
age. New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests, are eligible to
participate.
The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is
$1,050.00. Each vest has a value between $1,795 – $2,234 and a five-year
warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 lbs. There is an estimated 30,000 law
enforcement K9s throughout the United States. For more information or to

Adalberto Ramiro-diaz thought he was a smart criminal. Lots of dumb criminals think this, of course, but Ramiro-diaz could back it up: He had allegedly
been dealing drugs for a long time. This is quite an accomplishment because
the drug business is filled with risks: customers who want to cheat you, rivals
who want to rob you, cops who want to arrest you. How did he stay free for so
long? In July, according to TCPalm.com, Ramiro-diaz allegedly sold marijuana
and mushrooms to a customer. He let that customer in on the secret of his
success: “Adalberto bragged to me he had been doing this a long time and is
very smart about his narcotics transactions and that is why he has never been
busted. He said no one comes to his house without calling first and if someone
just shows up he will answer the door pointing a 9mm handgun at their head.”
Sounds smart! Unfortunately, this customer happened to be an undercover
investigator. Whoops! The alleged drug dealer was arrested in September.
In the summer of 2013, Anthony J. “Jimi” Lescowitch Jr. allegedly assaulted
a man, stole his ATM card, and ran away. He kept on running, apparently, and
the cops were having trouble finding him. So, in January 2014, the Freeland,
Pennsylvania, police posted Lescowitch’s mug shot on Facebook, asking
people to contact them with information on the suspect’s whereabouts. To
the cops’ surprise, one of the people who complied with their request was
Lescowitch himself, who immediately posted the photo on his own Facebook
wall along with an obscene comment. “lol I f---in love it A-----E,” he wrote
according to Philly.com.
Reasoning that stupidity usually strikes twice, the cops sent Lescowitch a
Facebook message under the guise of an attractive woman, asking the fugitive
if he’d be willing to meet her for a drink. Lescowitch said no. (Very smart!) Well,
would Lescowitch at least be willing to come have a cigarette? Lescowitch
said yes. (Very stupid!) When Lescowitch showed up at the designated smoking spot, he was arrested—further proof that smoking is bad for you, I guess.
Later, the Freeland police posted a triumphant update on Facebook: “CAPTURED!!!!!! SHARES OUR STATUS ON FACEBOOK ABOUT HIMSELF, CAPTURED 45 MINUTES LATER.” The first comment on this new status: “One less
member at tomorrow’s Freeland MENSA meeting.” Indeed.
Wayne Wade should’ve stayed home. On July 30, the Florida man allegedly burglarized an apartment in the town of Hollywood only to encounter the
apartment’s tenant on his way out the door. “Uh-oh, now she knows what
I look like. I need to get out of here!” Wade presumably thought. So he fled,
only to realize that he had accidentally left his cellphone in the home he just
allegedly robbed. “Uh-oh, now the cops have my fingerprints and lots of other
incriminating data. I need to get that phone back!”
So he called his phone, maybe hoping that the person who answered would
see the humor in the situation and return it to him. Instead, the phone was
answered by a detective who was in the house investigating the burglary that
had just been committed there. According to the Sun-Sentinel, “Wade told the
cop his name and said he needed his phone back.” Instead, he was arrested,
and the fingerprints from his phone were used to tie Wade to five other unsolved burglaries. In court later that week, Wade told a skeptical judge that his
phone had been stolen. Uh-oh, no one believes my terrible excuse!

We here at Jailbirds realize the importance of child support to working families. We also realize it’s a real problem
in Oklahoma that custodial parents aren’t getting the money owed to them. Too many deadbeat parents are getting
away with not supporting their children and our “powers
that be” continue to turn a blind eye to it. So, Jailbirds taking a different approach in helping find deadbeat parents. In
the past, we’ve relied on the DHS website to get info, but
it is pretty lame, as you may have noticed. If you are owed
money from a non-custodial parent, it was court-ordered,
they haven’t paid, and they have a warrant for their arrest, please email news@okjailbirds.
com with the name of the parent in arrears, how much they owe, and what county the
money is owed through. We will try our hardest to confirm the warrant and feature them on
our expanded Deadbeat Parents page. The key here is that they MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE
WARRANT so we can confirm the charge. PLEASE DO NOT PUT THE PERSON’S NAME

Nicole R: Moms who can’t or won’t financially support her children get reduced housing, food stamps, insurance , educational grants, TANF etc.... dads who can’t or won’t
financially support his children get jail, liens on property, tax returns intercepted, licenses
and permits suspended , and a nice picture on jailbirds. Biased much?
Jailbirds: No, we are not biased. We don’t make the rules. But we do know the rules
and laws need to be changed. It’s not working now. Wouldn’t you agree? If you don’t like
the way things are done now, pick up your phone and call your representative. Put pressure on them. We are.
David S: You are absolutely correct. Sure glad I’m not the only one who sees that. My
ex owes over 50K to her first kids father. She receives food stamps, insurance, etc. Yet,
if I get one month behind they threaten me with suspension on my DL. Oh did I mention
we have 50/50 custody and my child is with me half the time!!! Oh I can tell so much more
about how the child support system sucks. BTW in Oklahoma the child support is handled
by a third party who claims to be with the state. Such a crock.
Nicole R: it’s most definitely not working. 50/50 custody when possible , between 2
fit parents, could alleviate financial burdens on both sides. Jailbirds, done, done and done!
The Father’s Rights Movement page is a great support page for fathers dealing with these
issues.
Jailbirds : *smh* This is NOT about us or even you! It’s about your children! Who ever
said life was fair? Do what’s right and don’t let your kids go without basic things, even if
the other parent is not doing their part. Children need to grow up in a relatively healthy
environment. They need BOTH parents’ support, but can still thrive with only one! I grew
up with an alcoholic father who never paid my mom one dime of child support!! Each one
of us five kids grew up to go to vo-tech or college because we had at least one parent who
thought of us instead of herself. She paid a heavy price for us, and if my dad hadn’t been
a deadbeat, we would have had a much easier time putting food on the table. Growing up
on Rice-a-roni is crap. So don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m a
“victim” of our system too. Only thing is, I chose NOT TO BE A VICTIM!

glad to hear you and your siblings grew up right. Gives me inspiration while I’m raising my
kids.
Jason P: I am from Arkansas and have wilfully paid my child support for 17 years
without missing a single payment. 3 years ago I remarried and my wife is from Oklahoma
she brought her 2 young daughters and I was appalled that the State of Oklahoma Child
Support Services were so out of touch enforcing noncustodial to pay their support. The
individual that owes his children is over $5k in arrears and has never made an effort in
the 3 years to wilfully pay. They seem to allow the deadbeats to slip through the system
unscathed. I and their mother support the children 100%. It doesn’t seem right that a
deadbeat of this magnitude should be allowed to keep getting away with it but I’m convinced that Oklahomas Child Support Services are,lacking a backbone or they are to lazy
to enforce the court orders. This guy has been threatened to loose his license have his
bank account froze and so forth but OCSE let’s him pay a one time payment of $50 and
all is good in their books and they drop the hearings on the matter. It’s sad that an agency
that is supposed to support the custodial parent and child support the deadbeats instead.
All I can say to Oklahoma OSCE is your lucky that the custodial parent and step parent
pick up your slack.

Keith G: Child support is a joke in Oklahoma. The ones who need the child support
can’t get it and the people who completely ruin there ex’s life over it don’t need as much
as they claim they need because that person makes good money. To base child support
off of ones income is complete bullshit.

My child is with me at least 50 percent of the time. Yet I still have to pay child support?
That’s BS. I also provide transportation to his school which is about 30 miles away from
my home. Such BS.
Keith G: The Oklahoma court system definitely favors the women, I was lucky and my
ex never even asked showed up in my case. Hasn’t been in the picture for almost 5 years
and never have I seen any child support money. Never even showed up*
Jenn H: I beg to differ, in my case it came down to who had the most money for the
best attorney.
Keith G: Sounds like you got a fair deal then, just good it should be, right? Just how*
Christina H: I don’t see Oklahoma favoring woman.....That’s just not true...I was in
a abusive relationship for years all his charges were dropped at court...I fight back once I
go to jail.. Have to pay him(my abuser) 5000 dollars and loose my kids....I pay child support...Have no problem doing that....But he never payed me a dime when I had the kids
so where is the favoritism?
David S: I’m glad you have stepped up and are showing not all us fathers are deadbeat. Keep up the great work. The kid(s) are what matters. Well Christina there are some
circumstances that it may go in another direction, but on a majority the women are favored. Though I’m sure there is much more to the story, and the violence certainly changes
things.
Christina H: Yes...I also think the county has a lot to do with it....Here the men are
definitely favored...No matter what the situation is....
Keith G: I’m sorry if I offended anyone. I based my comment off of opinion and circumstances that I’ve seen my good friends (male) go through. I hate to see anyone who really
wants to be there for their kids go through the process of it all. I hope eventually everything
works out for you Christina Horne. David, I appreciate the thanks, I couldn’t do it without
the support of my family and girlfriend. They stepped up when I needed them the most
and it has helped tremendously. Keep doing what your doing for your kids buddy. One day
these kids are going to be old enough to realize the the shit you had to go through to see
them and what you did for them.
Charley E: The DHS child-enforcement division is full if idiots who don’t know their
head from a hole in the ground. It would do the state a great service to remove Jeff Lake
(the director), and fire every corrupt employee they have. Start from scratch on the rebuild
with people who really do want to help.

it more difficult. Child support division here can’t seem to find him to serve him....and he
won’t work unless it’s cash under the table. And he has had more kids with other women
since we divorced.

They got me ALL of my back support. TWICE. And this was on a dad that didn’t work the
type of job where his check could be garnished.
Kimberly M: Iv got a dad who owes his children since one was 2 and the other 4.
Never paid a dime, went to the system ever time and was told oh were sorry he gets paid
under the table . I’m glade you had a worker who word for you.
Betty S: Don’t get me wrong... It did have to get all the way past $10,000 each time
and to the point of issuing a warrant for him to get it paid. But it did work each time.
Jerry J: Problem is if someone owes back child support and they have a warrant they
know they can go down and pay say 50 bucks and the warrant will be withdrawn. That
should be fixed once a warrant is taken out arrest them set thier bail for the full amount of
back support with it going to the custodial parent
Jenn H: My ex owes way too much to do that. I’d be happy if he had to pay say $300
and agree to start paying monthly or they’d pick him up again. Maybe it should be you pay
a percentage or if it’s under a certain amount you pay in full. But if it’s to the point of being
arrested it’s going to be such a large amount that it won’t be possible.

A 36-year-old Guthrie man and his underage accomplice were taken into custody after they allegedly
robbed two people in a home invasion on January 20.
Sheldon Smith was charged January 23 with three
felonies, including robbery with a firearm, possession
of a firearm AFCF x2, and possession of a controlled
dangerous substance (marijuana), in Logan County
District Court.
Reports state that Smith and a 16-year-old boy
forced their way into a Guthrie home on E. Springer
Street and bound the victims with an extension cord.
They then beat the victims and possibly threatened
one of the victim’s life.
Smith and the boy stole money and property from the victims and left.
A neighbor who heard the disturbance called 911.
Police found the suspects hiding in a shed not far away from the crime
scene, but one ran off. He was captured soon afterward.
Bond was set at $75,000 for Smith and he was ordered back to court
February 23 for his preliminary hearing.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.
