AROUND THE STATE
ROBBERY ARREST -- Suspect bites clerk,
steals cigarettes, then tries to outrun Officers
on a bicycle.
On Jan. 9, around 1:55 a.m., Officers responded to a larceny in progress at a convenience store near 71st and Riverside.
The caller said a man, later identified as
Jeremiah Wooten, was behind the counter
stealing cigarettes and assaulting a clerk.
Video of the incident showed Jeremiah
Wooten walk behind the counter and grab
multiple packs of cigarettes attempting to
steal them.
The clerk tried to stop Wooten, and the two
got into a fight where Wooten struck the clerk
multiple times and bit him in the chest. Eventually, Wooten got away and left
with a tote bag filled with stolen cigarettes.
Officers swarmed the area and found Wooten riding a bicycle near 6800 S.
Rockford. When Officers tried to stop Wooten, he began to pedal faster and
started weaving between the patrol cars.
Eventually, Wooten turned down a dead end street and ran on foot. He
climbed a fence and ran into a backyard where he was taken into custody.
The tote bag with 15 packs of cigarettes was recovered and returned to
the store.
The clerk had multiple injuries, including a possible broken nose.
Jeremiah Wooten was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear
- Obstructing a Police Officer

HEAVY TRAFFIC
Three people were taken into custody in a
span of two days for being in possession of
some powerful illegal drugs in Stillwater.
Rocky Bradford, 46, of Perry, was charged
January 17 with Aggravated Trafficking Illegal
Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Controlled
Drug With Intent to Distribute; Deja Crowder,
19, of Stillwater, was charged January 19 with
Trafficking Illegal Drugs and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Drug; and Ricky Dominguez,
38, of Stillwater, was charged January 17 with
Aggravated Trafficking Illegal Drugs, Unlawful
Possession of Controlled Drug, and Unlawful
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, all in Payne
County District Court.
According to a Stillwater Police Department
press release, on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023,
members of the Stillwater Police Department
(SPD) Special Project Unit arrested Bradford
for an outstanding Payne County warrant. A
subsequent investigation revealed that Rocky
was also in possession of six grams of Fentanyl
and 11 grams of Methamphetamine.
On Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, SPD Special Project Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of
Boomer and Lakeview, Crowder was a passenger in the vehicle. The traffic stop investigation led to officers serving a search warrant at
Crowder’s residence and seized 12 grams of
Fentanyl during the search.
On Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, SPD Special Project Unit conducted a field interview of Dominguez at the hotel located at 5010 W. 6th Ave.
During the interview, officers learned that
Dominguez was in possession of 11 grams of
Fentanyl pills.
“Illegal Fentanyl is a highly addictive opiate
that is plaguing many communities throughout
the United States,” the press release added.
“Fentanyl is extremely dangerous to ingest because it is often made in clandestine labs and there is no control over the
potency of the drug.”

JURY CONVICTS DEPEW MAN FOR SEXUALLY
ABUSING A MINOR, ENTICING TWO OTHERS
On January 26, a federal jury found a Depew man
guilty of sexually abusing a child younger than 12
years old and sexually propositioning and inappropriately touching two teenagers.
Darrel Dean Guinn, 37, was convicted of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor under 12 in Indian
Country; two counts of coercion and enticement of a
minor in Indian Country; and abusive sexual contact
with a minor in Indian Country.
“Darrel Guinn preyed on, manipulated and repeatedly sexually abused a young girl. He also made
sexual advances toward two other minors,” said
U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “I want to thank federal prosecutors and our law enforcement partners
for bringing this case to trial and the jury for delivering justice on behalf of those victims harmed by Mr.
Guinn.”
Guinn’s crimes were reported to authorities after a child revealed to two older
siblings that she had been sexually abused by Guinn. The two older siblings also
disclosed that Guinn had sexually propositioned them on several occasions.
During trial, prosecutors brought forth evidence showing that Guinn sexually
abused the young child on at least three occasions from approximately June 23,
2020, through Aug. 1, 2021.
The child stated that the abuse began when she was 10 years old. At that time,
the two were watching a movie alone, and he sexually assaulted her. When he was
done, he told her not to tell anyone. The final time he sexually assaulted her, he told
the victim she was his “favorite” and that it was “their secret.”
The second victim stated that when she was 14, Guinn asked her if he could
have sex with her. On another occasion when she was 14, he was watching a
movie with the teenager, laid next to her, and began to push his pelvis against her
buttocks, humping her.
Finally, a third victim disclosed that Guinn propositioned her for sex when she
was approximately 16 or 17. She also reported that at one point, Guinn seemed to
be rubbing his groin on her buttocks.
During the investigation, two other adults came forward stating they were sexually assaulted by Guinn when they were children and he was a teenager. One
woman stated that Guinn exposed himself to her when she was five years old and
he was 13. He began to ostracize the victim after she disclosed the incident.
After the exposure, Guinn began sexually abusing another child on a regular
basis when she was between the ages of six and nine years old. He was approximately seven years older than the victim.
At trial, victims and witnesses also said that Guinn regularly commented to the
victims that “incest was best,” that he was “bored and horny,” or called the victims
“teases.” Experts testified that sexualized comments are often associated with
grooming behavior, where perpetrators try to desensitize victims to sexual commentary and acts in order to exploit and abuse them.
In closing, federal prosecutors reminded the jury that five different people came
into court to testify about the abuse they endured at the hands of Guinn at various
times in his life. Prosecutors stated that “incest is best” and “bored and horny”
were not simply immature jokes to Guinn, but rather were mottos Guinn lived by.
They asked the jury to hold Guinn accountable for his criminal conduct.
The jury deliberated three hours and found the defendant guilty on all counts.

“‘Girls Gone Wild’ hot tub party”
Patrol officer Maegan Hall, who is married, was
fired last month for engaging ‘in a sexual relationship’ with multiple men on the La Vergne police force
Four police officers from the Nashville suburb of
La Vergne were fired for allegedly having sex on duty
with a female cop, who was also fired and accused
of taking off her top at what the local mayor called a
‘Girls Gone Wild’ hot tub party.
Patrol officer Maegan Hall of La Vergne Police Department is at the forefront of the investigation after
it was revealed in December that she ‘engaged in a
sexual relationship’ with at least four male officers.
Fellow patrol officers Juan Lugo-Perez, Lewis Powell, detective Seneca
Shields and Sgt. Henry Ty McGowan admitted to the accusations, according
to the report, with Shields claiming he had oral sex with Hall in the department’s gym while on duty.
It’s unclear if any of the officers will appeal.

DEMOLITION MAN
39-year-old Youla Rhodes was put behind bars after
he allegedly set fire to a building on January 10.
According to the police report, an agent with the
State Fire Marshall’s Office was dispatched to the
structure, located on East Highway 62 in Meeker. The
Jacktown fire chief advised that there had been two
fires. One was a single-wide mobile home, and the other was a small fire in front of another home.
Both fires were completely extinguished.
The agent spoke to the immediate neighbors, who
said they were going to bed when they heard some
noise outside. When they went to investigate, they saw
two fires outside their home. They also reported that
before they heard the noises, they saw a vehicle leave
the scene.
The only other vehicle known to be in the area belonged to Rhodes.
One of the neighbors said he went outside to move his truck after discovering the
fires. His driver’s side window was smashed, and there was a screwdriver impaled in
the ramp leading up to his home.
While investigating the fires, the agent learned that on January 7, a deputy had
responded to the area for a welfare check. He found a silver Mazda with the vehicle’s
windows busted and broken. The deputy saw Rhodes trying to pull wire from the
ceiling of a detached garage. He also broke some windows and tried to destroy other
items.
Rhodes was arrested for disturbing the peace and released from custody the next
day. Officers were again called after Rhodes was suspected of doing heroin in a
restaurant bathroom. He was also suspected of trying to break into a church.
During the investigation, authorities identified Rhodes as a person of interest in the
mobile home fire. They found him in a silver Mazda with busted windows at a gas
station located on East Highway 62.
When the agent identified himself to the man and confirmed Rhodes’s identity,
Rhodes told him, “I’m sorry.”
Rhodes is being charged with arson in the second degree. His bond was set at
$200,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 13, 2023.

Being able to tell the difference between healthy, unhealthy and abusive
relationships can be more difficult than you would think. No two relationships
are the same, so what’s unhealthy in one relationship may be abusive in another. Although there are many signs to pay attention to in a relationship, look
