CASH COW
An 18-year-old man and a juvenile were arrested in
July for their connection to killing cattle at St. Gregory’s Abbey in Shawnee.
According to reports, a rancher moved the cattle to
Shawnee in June in partnership with the monastery.
Soon afterwards, cattle were discovered dead in the
field starting on June 22. An investigation revealed
cuts on the cattle and arrows from a crossbow.
On July 22, a monastery worker noticed flashlights
in a field and discovered a crossbow near a tree.
Police detained the suspect and the juvenile at that
time. The suspect, Christopher Wallace, was arrested on suspicion of four counts of
cruelty to animals and two counts of larceny to livestock.
The juvenile is also facing felony charges in relation to the alleged butchering of the
cattle.
Over a dozen cattle were said to have been killed, resulting in a monetary loss of
approximately $35,000.
Formal charges are pending. ROGER

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
An Ada man is facing child sex abuse charges after OSBI
began an investigation into allegations of child abuse.
Michael Elzie Priest, 72, was taken into custody July 25
on complaints of sexual abuse of a child. Formal charges
are to be announced on August 27.
According to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation,
on July 17, the Pontotoc County District Attorney’s Office
requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
(OSBI) to investigate allegations of child abuse. Based
on the evidence and information gathered, OSBI special
agents determined that Priest had committed multiple acts of sexual assault towards a
child.
According to reports, Priest and his wife are the founders of the 99+1 Foundation, a
foundation to help children in foster care.
This is still an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the OSBI at [email protected] or 1-800-522-8017.
Bond for Priest was set at $150,000. When he is formally charged, bond could be
re-evaluated if the charges are different than what he was booked into jail for, according
to court records.

SOME FOLKS NEVER LEARN
Two people were taken into custody after a disturbance
involving a firearm caused the sheriff’s department to send
out the cavalry.
Larry Benton, 65, was charged July 27 with Trafficking in
illegal drugs, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute,
Possession of Firearms After Former Felony Conviction,
Poss Firearm while in commission of a Felony, in Johnston
County District Court.
Amanda Cornelison, 40, faces charges in Chickasaw
Nation Tribal Court of two counts of Possession of CDS,
possession of paraphernalia, possession of firearm by a
prohibited possessor, and intoxication.
According to a press release by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department, in mid-July, the Johnston County
Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible disturbance involving a firearm on west Acorn Rd. Upon arriving on scene
the Sheriff and several Deputies made contact with Benton
and Cornelison. Both subjects where displaying sign of being under the influence of methamphetamine.
Upon further investigation Deputies located several loaded firearms and a trafficking amount of methamphetamine
in a pickup truck and camper on the property. The methamphetamine was also packaged in a manner consistent with distribution. All evidence
located during the initial investigation was seized as evidence and both Benton and Cornelison were arrested and transported to the Johnston County Jail.
The following day, Deputy Joey Schanz applied for and was granted a search warrant
for the property on Acorn Rd. A thorough search of the property yielded more firearms
and methamphetamine.
“We continue daily to go after those who bring this poison into our communities, which
is a direct threat to our citizens, our kids and overall wellbeing of Johnston County,” said
Sheriff Gary W. Dodd. “We remain relentless in our fight to keep Johnston County a safe
community where our citizens and community thrive.
There is no safe place here for drug trafficking, distribution
and those who choose to pray upon our Citizens. We will
not tolerate it. Great job to all the Deputies involved and
the Tishomingo Police
Department
for assisting
in this investigation.”
AROUND THE NATION
Ice, ice, baby
A Dumfries, Va., man’s morning of mischief was literally put on ice after a crash at a Stafford County (Virginia) convenience store.
On July 14th at 2:57 a.m. Deputies S.A. Edwards,
D.S. Jett and C.M. Sterne responded to a single vehicle crash at the Valero at 620 Cambridge Street. They
arrived to find an Acura MDX had driven over the curb
and caused significant damage to the ice machine at
the side of the
business. The driver continued to reverse and pull
forward until deputies activated the lights and sirens on the patrol cars.
The driver was identified as Eric McDonald, 36,
and he refused to exit the vehicle. McDonald was
extracted from the vehicle and deputies noticed he
had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage as well as
glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
McDonald was charged with DUI second offense in 10 years, three counts of obstruction,
felony destruction of property, refusal, no insurance and no registration. He was also found to be
wanted for a contempt of court charge from Stafford General District Court. McDonald was placed
in the Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his
ability to participate in a bond hearing.

AROUND THE STATE
On July 21, the Tulsa Police Department posted
about a suspect who exposed himself and threatened a violent sex act. Thanks to all of the tips, we
were able to identify him and Officers with the IMPACT Unit located and arrested him.
The suspect, Joshua Milligan, was arrested at Admiral and Harvard at 12:30 p.m. on June 28. He was
brought down to Detective Division where he was
questioned about the incident.
Here are a couple of highlights from the interview:
• He admitted to being the person at the store and being told to leave
• Even though it was recorded on audio, when asked why he threatened to “Rape”
the store owner’s daughter, he claimed he said he was going to “Rake” her. He said
that’s a “Mafia” meaning to kill a person.
• When he was asked why he said he was going to “F--- Her”, he said he meant
to say “F--- Her Over”. (FYI “F---” is an expletive we’re redacting, in case you weren’t
picking up on that)
• As far as exposing himself, he said his pants were sagging.
Milligan was charged July 5 with indecent exposure and threaten an act of violence, in Tulsa County District Court. Bond was set at $10,000.
Information from the original post:
On July 18, around 5:00 p.m., the white male
wearing the OSU jersey caused a disturbance in
front of a business near 51st and Yale.
When the owner asked him to leave, the suspect aggressively got up in the owner’s face. The
owner pushed him back and pulled a gun out in
defense, The suspect briefly retreated.
The suspect continued to exchange words
with the owner, cursed at him, and threatened to
rape his daughter (who was present).
The suspect eventually walked away but not
before threatening to rape his daughter again
and pulled down his pants to expose himself.

WEWOKA WOES
Bond was denied for a 33-year-old Wewoka
man with previous felony convictions after authorities found firearms in his home on July 10.
According to the affidavit, the Seminole County
Sheriff’s Office and Seminole Nation Lighthorse
Police Department were investigating a shooting
that took place on Ocheese Street in Wewoka.
They secured a search warrant for a residence in
the 1500 block of South Ocheese.
The primary suspect in the shooting, Kendell Michael Samilton, lived at the
residence.
While in the home, officers found a .40 caliber and 9mm handgun they believed was used in the shooting. They also found a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle hidden in a drain ditch on the property. It wasn’t dirty or muddy, meaning that
it hadn’t been in the ditch for very long. The serial number on the rifle had been
partially removed and it was chamber loaded, but the magazine was missing.
Since Samilton was a convicted felon, he was placed under arrest and booked
into the Seminole County Jail.
Samilton is being charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony
conviction, possession of a firearm with a defaced/altered ID number, and assault and battery with a deadly weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court on
August 1, 2024.
