charged January 13, 2022, in Pottawatomie
County District Court with murder in the second degree, causing an accident involving great
bodily injury while driving, and driving with license cancelled/suspended/revoked. The second degree murder charge was later reduced to
first degree manslaughter.

NINCOMPOOPS
A Massachusetts man got himself stuck inside a chimney while
trying to evade cops on December 10 in a failed attempt to channel
Ol’ Saint Nick.
Officers with the Fall River Police Department (MA) attempted to
conduct a raid of the man’s Canal Street home in the small New England town — only to be led on a Christmas goose chase.
As the cops knocked on the front door, they saw two men fleeing
the home via the roof, according to 10WJAR.
“[One man] invoked the essence of the seasonal icon and attempted to hide inside of a chimney,”
police said in a statement. “[He] quickly became stuck in the chimney and required the assistance of
the very detectives he was previously fleeing.”
Bodycam footage shared by the police department shows the moment the responding police
officers scaled the roof and confronted Langlias who was deep in the flue.
“You’re an idiot,” said an officer wielding a flashlight as the camera panned down to Langlias, 33,
wedged inside the base of the chimney.
The officers confirmed that the suspect was in fact stuck, but able to breathe while they called for
the fire department to come and rescue the wannabe Santa Claus.
“Get me out of here, bro!” Langlias pleaded with the same cops he had tried to hide from, according to the footage.
Firefighters can be seen in the video taking apart the chimney brick-by-brick from inside the home
as Langlias helplessly waited to be taken into custody.
“Due to his Santa-antics, Langlias was transported to a local hospital out of precaution and was
medically cleared,” police
said.
The other wanted party
jumped off the roof, onto a
car, and lammed it before
cops could make an arrest and remains at large.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) - Texas authorities arrested
at least two men involved in a $400,000 scheme to steal Lego
sets from Walmart and Target stores across four states and resell
them online.
Brian Keith Fleming, 33, and Ladarion Dontre Anderson, 33,
were arrested. According to an affidavit, the scheme involves 10
people and has operated for at least two years.
On Oct. 14, 2022, a trooper noticed 19 unopened Cricut machines during a traffic stop, and according to the affidavit, the
driver could not explain why they were in the car or where the
machines came from.
The driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant and the
trooper reached out to Walmart and Target to determine if the
machines were stolen.
Authorities obtained a search warrant for two cell phones that
were in the car and the text history on those devices helped them
launch an investigation that crossed state borders.
The phones revealed conversations about stealing Cricut machines to sell to a third person at a cut rate, according to the affidavit. The texts also mentioned doing the same with Lego sets.
The United States postal inspector ran an investigation on the
buyer, who was reportedly paying cash for the items and then
reselling them on Amazon, eBay and other online platforms, according to the affidavit.
On March 14, a special agent in Texas was assigned to the case and learned from an Amazon
investigator that the seller had handed over a number of invoices for Lego sets that named Fleming
directly.
The investigation revealed that Fleming and Anderson were working together with a circle of five
“shoppers” to steal the sets from stores across Texas, the affidavit says.
Fleming and Anderson were caught on Walmart surveillance video walking down the Lego aisle
before buying a handful of other items, all in the $1 to $2 range.
The document says one of the five shoppers would then go into the store and put a matching
number of Lego sets into a cart before walking past the registers and out the door.
If stopped, they would show the receipt for the items Fleming or Anderson had bought, with
the names and prices changed. Investigators identified this pattern after detaining several of the
shoppers.
The affidavit says Walmart and Target investigators estimated the combined total value of the
items stolen to be over $400,000.
Invoices from the reseller show more than 500 Lego sets were resold at or below half of the market price over just four months in 2024.
Fleming and Anderson have both been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and
theft over $300,000.
The arrest documents show over 273 individual thefts, mainly from stores across Texas, but also
in Oklahoma, Florida and Pennsylvania.

TRAIN VS. MUSTANG -- Driver arrested for DUI
On December 14, just before 2:00 a.m., Officers responded to a call of a Ford Mustang Convertible on the
tracks in the area near 100 S. Guthrie Avenue.
The driver of the Mustang, 22-year-old Cody Tungate, later admitted to Officers that he left a car meet
event commonly known as a “Street Takeover”.
Several citizens observed Tungate attempting to
drive the convertible from the tracks, and said they had
to drag him from the vehicle as a train was rapidly approaching. At the same
time, another individual attempted to drive the vehicle from the tracks but was
unsuccessful.
The oncoming train was unable to stop in time and collided with the car, likely
totaling the vehicle. No one was injured.
Cody Tungate displayed multiple signs of intoxication and was arrested for DUI
and Transporting an Open Container.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.

FAILED ATTEMPT
A Seminole man will be spending the next seven-plus years in a federal prison for helping another man attempt to cover up a murder.
Scott William Lanham, 45, was sentenced to 87
months in prison for one count of Accessory After
the Fact to Murder in Indian Country.
The charge arose from an investigation by the
Seminole Police Department, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Texas Rangers, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
On March 4, 2024, Lanham pleaded guilty to the charge. According to court
documents, in April of 2019, after the murder of an area Seminole resident, Lanham knowingly helped one of the perpetrators cover up the crime, disposing of
a murder weapon and destroying evidence in order to hinder and prevent arrest
and prosecution. Despite Lanham’s efforts, the Government investigated and
prosecuted the crime, and on April 10, 2023, a federal jury convicted Coker
Dean Barker for murder.
The crimes occurred in Seminole County, within the boundaries of the Seminole Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Lanham will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a
non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty PONTOTOC COUNTY 15 | JANUARY 2025
KILLING SPREE
Bond was denied for a 42-year-old man accused of murdering two elderly people in Pontotoc County and another in Oklahoma County.
According to OSBI, on December 18, 2024, the
Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office requested the
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a double homicide.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., on December 17,
deputies responded to a suspicious incident at a residence near State Highway
1 and County Road 1512 in Allen. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered 84-year-old Robert Peliti and 70-year-old Jackie Peliti severely injured.
Jackie was pronounced deceased at the scene and Robert was transported to
a local hospital, where he later passed away.
OSBI special agents and deputies identified 42-year-old Richard Dewayne
Chambers as a person of interest. Based on the information and evidence gathered, Chambers was also connected to a homicide in Midwest City.
With the assistance of local law enforcement agencies, Chambers was located just before 9:00 a.m. December 18 in rural Hughes County. He was arrested
and transported to the Pontotoc County Jail.
Chambers is scheduled to next appear in court on January 22, 2025, on a
status docket.
