K9 ASSISTS SHERIFFS FUGITIVE TASK FORCE
Last month, our Sheriffs Fugitive Task Force
was busy making multiple warrant arrests!
One of those warrant arrests was on Christopher Irving. The Sheriffs Fugitive Task Force
tracked Irving down to a house in Shawnee.
When they made contact they were told Irving was inside. The bottom floor was cleared
by the Sheriffs Fugitive Task Force. The decision was then made to utilize K9 Onyx to
clear a second floor of the residence.
K9 Onyx was deployed and cleared the entire second floor.
As Deputies were searching they found a
hole in a wall where Onyx had showed behavior changes indicating there was someone in proximity of the area.
Deputies then observed Irving hiding in a crawl space and began giving
commands, letting Irving know Onyx would be used if he refused to come
out.
Irving immediately gave up and was taken into custody.
Irving was then transported to the Safety Center, where he was booked in
on his warrants.
If you know someone who has a warrant and would like to leave a warrant
tip call our dispatch at 405-273-1727.

INVESTIGATORS RECOVER $100,000 IN STOLEN PROPERTY
Investigators Marcus May, Brad Setzer, and Deputy Jason Seikel all worked together last month to
recover a stolen truck and trailer.
The truck and trailer in the picture below was
stolen from our county. Deputies learned there was
an on star tracker on the vehicle. They immediately began tracking the vehicle and learned it was in
Marshall County.
Investigators May and Setzer went to Marshall
County and made contact with their Office for assistance. Marshall County’s Undersheriff assisted
our investigators and we were able to locate the
vehicle and a suspect.
Suspect Jarrid Resler was taken into custody and charged with possession
of stolen vehicle in Marshall County and we will be filing for Larceny of a Motor
Vehicle and Grand Larceny in Pottawatomie County.
We will continue to work as hard as we can to recover stolen property for
our victims.
If you have any information regarding stolen property please call us at 405-
275-4837 and ask for Investigator Marcus May or Investigator Brad Setzer.

On February 7th, Michael David Boggs was arrested at his apartment on South Byrd in the City of
Tishomingo. This was a joint investigation between
the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and the Tishomingo Police.
Johnston County Sergeant Alyson Orr-Dodd and
Tishomingo Assistant Police Chief Jason Lowe investigated allegations of Child Sex crimes perpetrated by Boggs both in the the City of Tishomingo, and
also in rural Johnston County.
Based upon information and evidence obtained in
this investigation, Sgt. Orr-Dodd produced a probable cause affidavit for an arrested warrant. Subsequently a warrant was granted by a Judge based upon the probable cause.
After Boggs was arrested by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and
Tishomingo Police Department he was transported to the Johnston County
Jail. Boggs was booked into jail on the following charges were filed:
• (2) counts of lewd acts or proposals to a child under 16.
• (1) one count of attempted rape by instrumentation.
• (1) count of indecent exposure.
This investigation is still ongoing. If you have any information about Boggs,
possible crimes he committed or a victim of any crimes please contact the
Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
We have said it time and time again, criminals are not welcome in our county. People which would hurt and take advantage of children are evil animals.
“These types of crimes are extremely difficult to work. It takes a major toll
on the victims and also the law enforcement officers, which are subjected
to investigating in detail these sickening atrocities against children. While all
criminals need to be held accountable, people which perpetrate these crimes
need to be removed from our society so they can never hurt another child.
This joint investigation is a perfect example of law enforcement working
together. We will continue to protect our Citizens and aggressively go after
criminals.”

AROUND THE NATION
Rebecca Lanette Taylor is accused of offering another Walmart shopper up to half a million dollars to purchase her baby.
A Texas woman is accused of trying to buy
another woman’s baby for hundreds of thousands of dollars while in line at a Walmart
self-checkout.
Rebecca Lanette Taylor, 49, was arrested on
Jan. 18 and charged with the offense of the
sale or purchase of a child in connection with
an incident that allegedly occurred five days
prior, according to a Crockett Police Department probable cause statement obtained by
local outlet The Messenger.
On Jan. 13, the mother of the child in question called police “advising a
white woman with blonde hair approached her in the Crockett Walmart,
wanting to purchase her son,” according to the probable cause statement.
The mother claimed that Taylor allegedly approached her as she was
waiting to scan items in self-checkout. She claimed that Taylor “began
commenting on her son’s blonde hair and blue eyes” before asking “how
much she could purchase him for.”
When the mother laughed over the question — assuming it was a joke
—Taylor allegedly “told her that she had $250,000 in the car and she
would pay that much for him.”
The mother also claims that both Taylor and a female companion began
calling her son by his name, without having been told it.
The mother claims that Taylor followed her out to the parking lot where
she proceeded to offer more money for her child.
“Once in the parking lot, Taylor began screaming [...] saying if she
wouldn’t take $250,000 for him, then she would give her $500,000 because she wanted him and she was going to take him,” the statement
says.
Surveillance video from Walmart seemingly confirmed the incident, The
Messenger reports.
“Taylor said that he was the perfect fit and she had been wanting to buy
a baby for a long time now,” the affidavit said, according to NBC News.
The Crockett Police Department was unable to provide a copy of the affidavit to Oxygen.com before publication. It’s not clear if the other woman
who was with Taylor will face any charges.
While Taylor’s bond was set at $50,000, and she bonded out of Houston
County Jail on Jan. 20, a spokesperson for the Houston County Sherrif’s
Department told Oxygen.com on Thursday. She has not yet been indicted
and it’s unclear if she has an attorney.

HOMETOWN HERO
On January 19, 2022, Game Warden Larry Green was alerted to three duck hunters
whose boat had capsized while out on the
water at Kaw Lake.
Warden Green immediately went into action
by retrieving a boat from the Kaw office and
requesting an ambulance. The conditions at
the time had made a turn for the worse with
winds gusting 25 - 30 mph with temperatures
falling into the low 30’s.
Warden Green met with Corps of Engineers
Ranger Aaron Brown at the boat ramp who
assisted with unloading the boat. At the time
they launched the boat the lake had waves
up to 4’ and Warden Green, who is recognized as one of the agency’s most accomplished boat operators, was able to
pilot the boat across to reach the three duck hunters.
All three hunters were displaying signs of hypothermia from being in the
water for an extended period of time. Ranger Brown assisted with loading
the hunters into the boat while Warden Green maintained the position of the
boat. All three hunters were returned successfully to the boat ramp where the
ambulance was waiting to tend to them.
Warden Green along with Ranger Brown put their lives on the line by treading into harsh conditions, and we want to commend Game Warden Larry
Green and Crops of Engineer Ranger Aaron Brown for their efforts in this
rescue.
This is a good reminder to be prepared for anything while outdoors and be
keen on changing weather conditions.
GREEN
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

March is National Youth Violence
Prevention Month
The National Association of Students
Against Violence Everywhere is a nonprofit
aiming to provide safer environments for
our youth. Its mission is to decrease the
potential for violence in our schools and
communities by promoting meaningful student involvement, education and service
opportunities.
SAVE’s Vision: Schools and communities will be safer and more secure, free of
fear and conducive to learning as a result of
students being actively involved in meaningful violence prevention efforts.
How It Got Started: SAVE was started by students in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1989 after the tragic death of a classmate who was trying to break up a
fight at an off-campus party. A group of students who did not want this death
to be “just another statistic” took action and created a violence prevention
program.
Chapters: SAVE has evolved into a national association with chapters in
elementary, middle and high schools as well as at colleges and community organizations across the country. Today, there are more than 200,000 students
involved nationwide.
Activities: Student members take the lead in planning chapter activities by
using the three SAVE Essential Elements: conducting crime prevention activities, conducting conflict management activities and providing meaningful service through projects in schools and communities. SAVE chapters also plan
safety rallies and safety awareness campaigns, engage in peer mentoring to
younger students, and conduct fun and educational meetings.

A BIT EXCESSIVE
A 58-year-old Wewoka man was put behind bars after officers found a large amount
of marijuana in his possession during a traffic
stop on February 13.
According to the police report, the officers
were traveling westbound on Highway 270 in
Seminole when they saw a vehicle cross the
fog line multiple times. The vehicle also had
defective brake lights.
The officers stopped the vehicle and made
contact with the driver, identified as Kyle Lin
Farris.
While speaking to the man, an officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from
inside the vehicle. He also saw a glass pipe
sticking out of the man’s chest pocket.
The officer removed the pipe and noticed it was new and unused. He asked
Farris to step out of the car. When the officer asked the man about the marijuana smell, Farris showed him his medical marijuana card. The officer asked
him how much weed was in the vehicle – Farris told him about 12 pounds.
The officer opened the rear door and found a large black plastic container
that contained 22 vacuumed sealed bags of medical marijuana, all weighing
approximately 13.8 pounds. Under the bags were approximately 2.5 pounds
of loose marijuana. The officer also found another pipe with white meth residue and a large set of digital scales. He placed the man under arrest and
transported him to jail.
Farris is being charged with the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance including possession with intent to distribute. His bond was set at
$10,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court on March 3, 2022.
