DEADLY ROOMATE
A 19-year-old man is being held without bond
after he allegedly shot and killed another man
during an altercation on April 7.
According to the affidavit, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Philadelphia
Avenue in Shawnee around 2:10 p.m. to investigate a shooting. Nathan Leelyn
Kadayso and the victim lived together at a residence in the area. A woman who
was in front of the house told officers that someone inside the home had been
shot. They went inside the house and found a woman kneeling beside a man
lying on the ground. There was also another man inside the home.
Officers started chest compressions on the man who was on the ground. The
man died shortly after.
Reports state Kadayso and the victim started arguing about something at approximately 2 p.m. At some point during the altercation, Kadayso shot the victim
once in the chest and once near the ribs.
Witnesses told officers that Kadayso pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger
twice. They also said that the day before, he had pulled a gun on someone at
the library.
A witness said that Kadayso had been talking about getting some meth.
When officers located Kadayso, the man refused to talk to them. Officers never mentioned anything about the shooting.
When officers tested him for gunshot residue, he asked if the test pulled evidence from his hand. He also asked investigators if he could plead self defense.
Kadayso is being charged with murder in the first degree. He is being held
without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 30, 2023.

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
Enid man Walter Lee Hill Jr., 40, was put behind bars after he allegedly fired a gun at officers during an hours-long
standoff on March 16.
According to reports, Enid officers were dispatched to
the 1200 block of East Elm at approximately 3:52 p.m. to
investigate reports of a man firing a gun into the air. When
they arrived, they couldn’t find the man who was firing the shots.
A second call at 4:27 p.m. advised officers that there were shots fired in the area of 12th Street
and Cypress. They went to the location and met with a witness who said the shots were fired at
a nearby residence.
Officers went to the residence. A woman told them that Hill shot at her inside the residence.
Officers surrounded the residence and made announcements to Hill.
Hill then fired shots at the officers from inside the residence. Officers returned fire.
The SWAT team was called to the scene. Garfield County deputies, North Enid police officers,
and Waukomis officers also responded to the scene.
Officers spoke to Hill on the phone, but they couldn’t convince the man to surrender. After
nearly six hours, they deployed gas canisters inside the residence.
Payne County deputies arrived at the scene in armored vehicles to assist. Hill surrendered
shortly thereafter, around 9:42 p.m.
Hill is being charged with six counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a
firearm after a former felony conviction. His bond was set at $1M and he is scheduled to appear
in court on April 17, 2023.

THE HARD WAY
A teacher for Holdenville Public Schools was
put behind bars April 2 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
Reports state a police officer saw a truck
speeding southbound on Kingsbury Road. The
officer activated his radar and saw that the driver was speeding 50 mph in a
35 mph zone.
The officer stopped the driver, identified as 42-year-old Brandon Dean
Kahle. He asked for the man’s license. The officer was advised that Kahle’s
license was revoked.
The officer asked Kahle to take a seat in the patrol vehicle and then noticed
that the man smelled like alcohol. Kahle admitted to drinking several alcoholic beverages before getting behind the wheel of his truck.
The officer administered a field sobriety test to the man. Kahle didn’t pass
the test.
The officer placed the man under arrest and transported him to jail.
Kahle is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 16, 2023.

THAT AIN'T MY
TRUCK
A 49-year-old Shawnee man was arrested
after a police officer caught him with a stolen
truck on March 29.
According to the police report, a Seminole
police officer was dispatched to the Braum’s
parking lot at approximately 9 p.m. to investigate a stolen truck. When he
arrived, he saw a woman standing in front of a brown truck. The woman
told him that someone had stolen her mother’s truck in Norman. She
believed that the truck she was standing in front of was her mother’s
vehicle.
The truck had a Chickasaw tag on it.
The man driving the vehicle was identified as Scott Ryan Yarbrough.
Yarbrough told the officer he had just purchased the truck in Norman for
$2,500. He said he had the registration with him.
The officer looked at the registration and saw that Yarbrough had the
truck registered in his name on March 9. Additional paperwork, however,
showed that the truck should have an Oklahoma tag, not the Chickasaw
tag that was on the truck.
The officer checked the vehicle’s VIN and was advised that it had been
reported stolen through the Norman Police Department.
The Norman Police Department verified that the truck was stolen. An
officer advised that the current registration had been obtained through a
forged signature on the title.
Yarbrough is being charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. His
bond was set at $15,000.

ADA MAN SENTENCED
TO FEDERAL PRISON
Terrell Eugene Delozier, 39, of Ada, was sentenced to 46 months for domestic violence, 46
months for assault with a dangerous weapon,
and 57 months for child neglect on March 29,
2023. The sentences will run concurrently.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Ada Police Department, the
Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
On February 15, 2022, Delozier pleaded guilty to one count of Domestic Violence in Indian Country, one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with
Intent to do Bodily Harm in Indian Country, and one count of Child Neglect in
Indian Country stemming from a single incident on April 28, 2021, where he assaulted and threatened his former intimate partner in front of her children.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma prosecuted this case because the victims are members of a federally recognized Indian tribe and the crimes occurred in Pontotoc County, which is within the boundaries of the Chickasaw Nation Reservation and the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
“Domestic violence is a scourge which impacts and destabilizes all segments
of society, including our Tribal Nations. Today’s sentencing of Terrell Delozier for
domestic violence affords safety to his victims and ensures that crimes against
intimate partners and children continue to be taken seriously in the Eastern District of Oklahoma,” said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson.
“The severe assault by Terrell Delozier will have long-lasting effects on his victims, including his young children, who should never have to endure such violence,” said FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Edward J. Gray. “The
FBI will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to aggressively pursue these cases and ensure justice is met for violent offenders.”
The Honorable Bernard M. Jones, II, U.S. District Judge in the United States
District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearings
in Muskogee. Delozier was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal at the
conclusion of sentencing. He will remain in custody pending transportation to
a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence of
incarceration. TREVOR

MAY IS NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH
AWARENESS MONTH
Mental health is a hot topic.
This is good news. It means the
stigma for mental health issues is
slowly going away. Mental health
issues are finally getting the attention they deserve. Healthcare
workers and individuals feel they
can discuss mental health more
openly. However, that doesn’t
mean there isn’t still work to do,
however.
As a whole, we often misunderstand mental health because it is hard to
define. Additionally, mental health includes several areas. These areas involve
one’s social, emotional, and psychological well-being. Mental health affects
thoughts, feelings, and actions. When one has positive mental health, they
are better equipped to handle stress, be more productive, and realize their
full potential.
While we focus on our physical wellbeing, the food we eat, exercise, and
getting regular check-ups for vision and dental care, we often forget to take
stock of our emotional and spiritual needs. Everyday demands take their toll.
HOW TO OBSERVE #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
Share the message. Taking care of our mental health is as normal as eating
healthy, exercising, or even saving for the future. Share your story to help others understand that achieving mental health is a daily process.
If you or someone you know needs to seek assistance check out one of
these resources:
Mental Health America
nami.org
mentalhealth.org
National Institutes of Mental Health
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration
American Psychiatric Association
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

NEWS FROM OUR
NEIGHBORS
In Boone County, Arkansas, a man was arrested for stealing an outdoor video surveillance camera from a business. He was caught
because of surveillance video ... from a camera on an adjoining building.
In Harrison, Arkansas, emergency personnel were called to a pawn shop
regarding a man stuck in the store’s chimney. He tried to tell the police he
was taking a short cut home late the night before, and decided to walk across
the roofs of adjacent buildings. You might have seen his picture looking up at
a camera from that chimney ... it made the news on the Today show.
In nearby Marion County, Arkansas, a woman had served her time in the
county jail and was released. A short time later, she called the jail and told
them she had left something in her jumpsuit and was coming back to claim
it. Deputies found a small container in the jumpsuit, tested the contents and
found that it was meth. The woman came in, she was asked if the container
was hers. When she said yes, she was arrested.
