BAND OF BROTHERS
Several law enforcement agencies banded together last month to capture a wanted fugitive for
multiple alleged child sex abuse acts.
Sekope Amanaki Alu-Uaea Haley, 24, was
charged January 22 with two counts of rape-first
degree (victim under age 14), two counts of forcible oral sodomy, three counts of lewd or indecent
acts to child under 16, and one count of soliciting
sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology, in Pottawatomie County District Court.
According to a press release by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, on
April 23, members of the Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals
Office, arrested Haley on a felony warrant. The warrant was issued as a motion
to revoke, stemming from charges related to luring a child under 16 to a secluded place and soliciting sexual conduct or communication by use of technology.
This case was investigated by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, who were also on scene and assisted in
taking Haley into custody.
“We remain committed to protecting our most vulnerable and ensuring those who seek to harm them are held
accountable,” the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office
said in the press release. “We thank our law enforcement
partners and the community for their continued support.
We would also like to thank District Attorney Panter and
his team for working closely with us on our cases.” MANDY

GUILTY VERDICT
In March 2024, Captain Strand and investigators with the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Drug
and Violent Crime Task Force arrested Damian
Codopony for trafficking around 4 grams of fentanyl. During the investigation, a search warrant
was executed at Codopony’s residence in Tecumseh, where investigators were assisted by the Tecumseh Police Department, Citizen Potawatomi
Nation Tribal Police, and Shawnee Police Department. They discovered approximately 20 additional grams of fentanyl .
On March 26, 2025, a jury found Codopony guilty of the following charges and
recommended the following sentences:
* Aggravated Trafficking of Fentanyl – 24 years
* Possession of Drug Proceeds – 5 years
* Trafficking of Fentanyl – 10 years
Sheriff Freeland Wood issued the following statement:
“This verdict sends a clear message to those who choose to poison our community with fentanyl: Law enforcement and the people we serve will not tolerate
it. I’m proud of the hard work of the District Attorney’s Drug Task Force and Captain Strand. Let this be a warning to other dealers—our community will stand
against you. We would also like to thank District Attorney Panter and his team
for doing a great job prosecuting this case and ensuring justice is served. This
shows the dedication District Attorney Panter and his team has to hold criminals
accountable.”

AROUND THE STATE
On April 3, 2025, Agents with the OBN Human
Trafficking Unit arrested Shawn Brownlee, 52, as
part of an ongoing cross-country human trafficking investigation.
“An undercover OBN Agent located an online
commercial sex advertisement for a female which
contained indicators suggesting the female may
be a victim of human trafficking. After making
contact with the female, OBN Agents learned she had met Shawn Brownlee in
California after he responded to one of her commercial sex ads. Brownlee then
transported the victim to Oklahoma in his Semi-trailer with the intent of furthering
and facilitating her commercial sex work.” ---
OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward
OBN Agents located and arrested Brownlee in Oklahoma City on April 3, 2025. He is
currently facing multiple charges, including
Pandering and Maintaining a House of Prostitution. This is an ongoing investigation and
additional charges could be filed in the case.
The female was safely recovered and is receiving victim assistance services.
Citizens and victims can get information or
anonymously report suspected human trafficking by visiting OBN’s ‘You Are Not Alone’

STRANGER DANGER
Two men from out of state were taken into
custody after an observant deputy pulled them
over on a traffic violation and discovered a large
amount of marijuana in their vehicle.
Marvin Edward Brown, Jr., 52, of El Paso, TX,
and Michael Excell Jackson Jr., 36, of Minneapolis, MN, were both charged April 15 with trafficking in illegal drugs and conspiracy, in Johnston
County District Court.
A Deputy Sheriff on the eastern side of Johnston
County, in the Wapanucka area, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple moving violations.
During the interaction with the two individuals, later identified as Brown and Jackson, the deputy,
who is specifically trained in criminal interdiction,
observed several indicators suggesting that they
may be involved in drug trafficking. A subsequent
probable cause search of the vehicle revealed evidence of trafficking weight of illegal marijuana.
Brown and Jackson were transported to the
Johnston County Jail where they were booked on
the charges. Bond for each was set t $50,000.
“While drug trafficking is a serious issue, the associated crimes often involve
extreme violence and are profoundly disturbing,” said Sheriff Gary W. Dodd.
“Specialized training and proactive policing are effective strategies in combating drug trafficking. Great job Deputy Justin Murray, who was also assigned by
Deputy Gabe Alexander.”

SOUTHERN
SHENANIGANS
In New York, you get arrested for defending people on the subway…but in Brevard County, Florida,
you get locked up behind bars for attacking people
in a Subway!!
Clearly this guy, Edward Cocaine, (and yes that’s
his real name) doesn’t know that in Brevard County, if you Mess Around you’re gonna Find Out…the
hard way!! Over the weekend, Cocaine and a friend went to the local Subway for
lunch and were trying to place an order, but ultimately got into an argument with
the employees over what they believed was their bad attitudes. If I was betting,
I would guess they didn’t like the fact that the footlong wasn’t $5 anymore, but
hey, who knows, so let’s get back to the incident!!
Cocaine became so irate with the employees that yelling at them from across
the counter wasn’t enough!! Unable to control his whittle emotions, he decided
to let himself behind the counter where he began to physically push one of them,
and then made an even dumber decision by pulling out a knife!! Yes folks, you
read that correctly, he pulled out a knife and gestured as if he was going to injure
them all because he didn’t like the way they spoke to him and his friend!!
Now on a positive note, Cocaine’s friend made the great decision to try and
intervene by attempting to restrain him and convince him to leave the establishment before anyone got hurt!!
Of course, after some great investigative work by Deputies and Agents, they
were able to identify Cocaine and his friend so that they could interview them
about the situation. According to Cocaine, that was him in the surveillance video
and while his memory of the incident appeared to be a bit off from what Agents
reviewed, he did acknowledge that pulling out a knife crossed the line of what
is appropriate behavior!! I’d say that completely crossed the line and did dumb
stuff that put others lives at risk!!
Well, as you might imagine, Cocaine was arrested for Aggravated Assault (x2),
Burglary with Assault or Battery, and Battery, which as everyone knows, he ain’t
gonna like the service or the attitude of those who work there!! He can, however, get food in a 1-star dining facility that is freshly prepared each day in the jail
kitchen by inmates…sounds just yummy!!

THAT'S METHED UP!
Two men were arrested following a meth drug bust
with a street worth of approximately $180,000.
According to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO),
Texas, on March 20, 2025, BCSO Organized Crime
deputies conducted a traffic stop near Loop 410 South
in San Antonio, as part of an ongoing investigation.
During the stop, 34-year-old Robert Gomez III was found in possession of four gallon-sized bags of crystal methamphetamine, a separate bag containing a brown tar-like
substance suspected to be heroin, and a .38 caliber pistol. He was taken into custody
without incident.
Meanwhile, 42-year-old Juan Bustamante, who had been seen leaving a residence
with a bag before meeting Gomez, attempted to flee when deputies moved in. He was
apprehended with assistance from the K9 unit after discarding a bag that contained eight
additional gallon-sized bags of crystal meth.
Further searches of Gomez’s residence and business uncovered a money counter and
packaging materials, pointing to a large-scale drug trafficking operation.
Both suspects, identified as documented gang members, were booked into the Bexar
County Jail and face multiple drug-related charges.
Robert Gomez III was booked on two counts of
manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance
over 400 grams, a first-degree felony, as well as unlawful carrying of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor.
Juan Bustamante was booked on a first-degree
felony charge for manufacturing and delivering a
controlled substance over 400 grams.
In total, deputies seized approximately 7 kilograms of crystal

CALDWELL, Idaho (Gray News) - Authorities in Idaho
say they have arrested a man for burglary after admitting to a theft scheme at Walmart.
According to the Caldwell Police Department,
32-year-old Dylan Rockwell was taken into custody
after he was caught using a ring with a barcode for
tomato soup to disguise large items at checkout.
Police said they responded in early February to a Walmart store on Cleveland
Boulevard regarding a theft in progress. Officers were told that he had left the
store but they were able to track Rockwell to his house after receiving a description of him and his vehicle.
Police detained the 32-year-old at his residence and recovered the stolen merchandise.
During questioning, officers said Rockwell confessed to committing several
thefts from Walmart. He admitted that he had been using a ring with a barcode
for tomato soup to scan larger items, tricking the register into listing them at a
much lower price.
This time, police said he had stolen a grill valued at $300.
“Sorry Mr. Rockwell, your tactics didn’t work this time, but we appreciate your
creativity. We know that times are tough, but your ingenuity got you some county
soup for dinner,” Caldwell Chief of Police Rex Ingram said.
