TRAIL TO A STOLEN
TRAILER
A Cleveland County man was taken into custody after he made the mistake of stealing a
trailer in Pottawatomie County in a truck with
very identifiable markings.
Terry Michael Cheatwood, 45, of Noble, was
charged September 18 with grand larceny in Pottawatomie County District
Court.
According to a press release from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, last month deputies responded to a residence for a report of a stolen
trailer. Deputies gathered information and watched video of a male in a Home
Depot truck steal a trailer.
Deputies followed up on the information they received and were able to
track down who rented the truck. That lead deputies to a residence in Moore.
As Deputies and Moore Police Department approached the residence, they
observed Cheatwood attempting to cut a lock off the trailer.
Cheatwood was taken into custody. He received a $12,000 bond.
“We were able to return the trailer to the proper owner and let this thief
know to stay out of our county,” the press release stated. CHRISTOPHER

Las Vegas rapper arrested after he allegedly
‘confessed’ to murder in music video
A Nevada rapper was arrested on murder
charges after implicating himself in a music video
by sharing details of the crime that only a killer could have known, police said.
Kenjuan McDaniel, 25, was picked up on August 29 after police said lyrics in
one of his recently posted music videos included details about a 2021 murder
that had not been publicly released, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
“I be the reason why he’s dead, we still taunt him when he die, not the reason
he’s dead, so celebrate the reason why his momma cry,” was one of the lyrics
in McDaniel’s video for his song “Fadee Free” that police said implicated the
rapper, according to a warrant obtained by KVUU.
“Parked the car, double back on feet, the smartest way to slide, drove in,
double lock yo man, make sure you get yo bod’,” was another lyric linked to
the murder, which saw a man gunned down in his apartment after an apparent
argument.
In the video — which depicted McDaniel and his cohorts’ faces transforming
into demonic skeletal visages — the rapper also allegedly acted out movements
that police said were “consistent with evidence at the scene.”
“The facts gathered during the investigation were obtained separately from the
music video,” police said.
“The music video further validated the results of the investigation.”
McDaniel’s video was first uploaded to YouTube in mid-July, and a detective
found it shortly thereafter.
“Detectives noted the music video bore a sufficient level of similarity to the
details of the murder,” the warrant read. “This includes the fact, that Kenjuan
confessed to the murder in his lyrics.”
“Details provided by Kenjuan in his music video were not released to the public
and would not be common knowledge.”

SMALL BUT MIGHTY
A small, illegal marijuana grow operation
was discovered by investigators after serving
an outstanding warrant on a man previously
convicted on drug charges.
Ricky Edward Cullum, 48, was charged
September 27 with cultivation of controlled substance, tampering with
security camera or system, possession of controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, in Hughes County District Court.
According to a press release by the Holdenville Police Department, a
small, unlicensed, illegal marijuana grow operation was discovered on
September 13 while serving a felony arrest warrant on an individual who
was already wanted for Endeavoring/Conspiring to Manufacture a Controlled Substance near Hickory in Holdenville.
Officers with the Holdenville Police Department and Agents with the
District 22 Task Force immediately secured a search warrant for the property.
While executing the search warrant,
officers discovered methamphetamine,
scales, baggies, and other items commonly used to distribute CDS along
several mature marijuana plants and
packaged/processed marijuana.
The suspect was booked into the
Hughes County Jail on his existing warrant and additional charges.
Cullum’s bond was set at $15,000
and he was ordered back to court on
November 3 at 9:00 a.m.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

after he was caught stripping aluminum siding off
of a house on Main Street.
Oscar J. Burns, 63, was charged September
26 with felony malicious injury to property, in Seminole County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Konawa Police Officer was called
to the 300 block of N. Maple Street on September 18 at just before 8:00 p.m.
When he arrived, a woman came out and told the officer her husband had gone
to their property on Main Street to confront a man stealing things from the house.
The officer went around the corner to Main Street and saw two men talking.
The woman’s husband told the officer that Burns was caught on his property
taking things and it was the second time Burns had been warned not to touch
the property. This time time Burns was caught stripping the siding from the outside of the house.
The officer pointed his flashlight at the house and could see the house had
been completely stripped of it’s siding from the ground to the roof. Burns immediately admitted to taking items from the house, but said that it had been a
misunderstanding and he thought he could have the items. The victim then interjected by saying that was a lie because the last time Burns had been removed
from the property, he was explicitly told not to come back and/or take anything.
Since Burns pretty much admitted to the crime, the officer placed him under
arrest. He calmly allowed himself to be handcuffed and was completely cooperative during the rest of the arrest/booking process.
oved from the property, he was explicitly told not to come back and/or take
anything. At this time since Oscar had admitted to the crime of breaking into the
house and taking items, I decided to place him under arrest for burglary.
Burns asked fi he could call his mom to come get his vehicle, which I allowed,
then he calmly allowed himself to be handcuffed and was completely cooperative during the rest of the arrest/booking process.
Bond for Burns was set at $7500.

PONTOTOC COUNTY RESIDENT
SENTENCED FOR ABUSIVE
SEXUAL CONTACT AND
SEXUAL ABUSE OF A MINOR
Nathan Dale Smith, age 33, of Pontotoc County,
Oklahoma, was sentenced to 87 months in prison for
one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in Indian Country and 24 months in prison for one count of Abusive
Sexual Contact in Indian Country. The sentences
were ordered to run concurrently.
The charges arose from investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and
the Ada Police Department.
On September 9, 2022, a federal jury found Smith guilty of Sexual Abuse of a Minor
in Indian Country and Abusive Sexual Contact in Indian Country. During the trial, the
United States presented evidence that Smith sexually abused a female child under
the age of 16 over the course of two years. Once the abuse was disclosed, the Defendant sent an incriminating text message to the victim’s mother apologizing for his
actions.
“I commend the Ada Police Department and the FBI for their cooperative work in
investigating this case,” said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson. “Their
efforts allowed Assistant United States Attorneys from our Special Victims Unit to
obtain a measure of justice for the victim.”
The crimes occurred in Pontotoc County, within the boundaries of the Chickasaw
Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

AROUND THE STATE
ROBBERY OVER A REFUND - Two men arrested after robbing hotel clerk at checkout
On September 5, Tulsa Police Officers responded to an Armed Robbery call around 2:30 p.m. at
a hotel near 91st and Riverside.
The 911 caller said a man armed with a knife
threatened hotel employees and forced a clerk to
hand over some money.
Through the investigation, Officers learned one
of the suspects, identified as Monroe Bird, rented
a room at the hotel and believed he was owed
a partial refund for checking out early. The dispute escalated when the other suspect, identified
as Shawdale Wright, arrived at the hotel and demanded $200 from the clerk.
When the clerk refused, Wright slashed an employee’s tire and threatened to start breaking windows. The clerk then handed over the money and the two suspects left.
Officers found and arrested Wright as he headed northbound on Riverside on
a bicycle. Officers caught Bird trying to hide behind a tree nearby.
Monroe Bird was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)
Shawdale Wright was arrested for:
- Robbery by Force or Fear AFCF
- Malicious Injury to Property
As the suspects in this case falls under the McGirt ruling, they will either be
prosecuted in Tribal Court or Federal Court. We will continue to work with our
Federal or Tribal partners as this case continues.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
