country roads
McCloud man Michael Wayne Allen, 38,
allegedly led officers on a pursuit from Shawnee to Cleveland County on July 6.
Reports state the multi-county chase started that morning when officers were sent to
check on a man sitting in his truck on SH
103, south of I-40. A concerned citizen had
called police to report that they saw the man
drinking in his vehicle.
When deputies arrived to check on the
man, Allen refused to get out of his truck.
Deputies tried to forcibly remove the man
from his vehicle, but Allen resisted and kicked
one of them during the scuffle.
Allen, who was known by law enforcement
officers to often have weapons on his person,
had a knife and axe on his truck windshield. A deputy deployed his taser,
striking the man. The taser didn’t seem to faze Allen – he put his truck in drive
and sped away.
Officers chased after the man.
Allen drove back roads the majority of the time, often on the wrong side of
the road, reaching speeds in excess of 85 to 90 mph. The man ran several
vehicles off the road in his attempt to escape from police.
The chase lasted approximately 20 miles. Allen eventually came to a stop
on 149th Street near Hiawassee Road on the outskirts of Norman. Allen tried
to speed off again, but deputies shot out his truck tires.
When deputies apprehended the man, he admitted to using some narcotics prior to the chase. He was transported to the hospital before being locked
up in jail.
According to reports, Allen has drug charges in multiple counties. He also
plead guilty to domestic assault by strangulation and threatening acts of violence in 2016.

Three Wichita Men Paid for Athletic Shoes
with Counterfeit Money
Three Wichita men were indicted on charges of
making counterfeit money and using it to pay for
athletic shoes, U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister
said.
Douglas D. Blocker, 21, Wichita, Cornelius D.
Wilson, 22, Wichita, and Traevon A. McGairty, 22,
Wichita, are charged with one count of counterfeiting and one count of passing counterfeit currency. In addition, Blocker is charged with another
count of passing counterfeit currency.
The indictment alleges the defendants used a photocopy machine to
make counterfeit $20 bills. In one count, Blocker is alleged to have met a
victim at the Towne West shopping center and paid him $480 in counterfeit bills for four pairs of Jordan athletic shoes. In another count, the three
defendants are alleged to have met another victim at Towne West and
paid him $520 in counterfeit bills for three pairs of athletic shoes.
If convicted, they face a penalty of up to 20 years in federal prison and
a fine up to $250,000 on each count.

June 24 death of a man in front of the Holdenville Pruett’s.
According to reports, a 37-year-old man was killed
and another person was injured during the drive-by
shooting.
Two suspects, Caleb Hodgins, 23, of Holdenville, and
Tyler Grandstaff, 27, of Seminole, were arrested for their
connection to the shooting.
A third suspect, 27-year-old Tyler Deerinwater, has
yet to be apprehended by police, but he is being accused of shooting and killing the victim. An arrest warrant was issued for his arrest in Hughes County for a
complaint of first degree murder on June 27.
Deerinwater is described as a Native American male and has long black hair
pulled back in a ponytail. Authorities believe he may be hiding out on southern
Hughes County or northern Coal County. Police warn the man may be armed and
dangerous and should not be approached by the public.
They urge citizens to contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017, the Hughes County
Sheriff’s Office at (405) 379-2203 or the local police immediately if they see the
suspect.

THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!
Medical marijuana has been approved by the people
of Oklahoma, yet our governmental officials and people
who think they know what’s best for us have once
again decided to rewrite what we voted on. What’s
your opinion on this issue?
These comments are only just a fraction we had on our Facebook Page. Read
more by going to our page.
___________________________________________________________________
Ryan S: This was a very badly written bill, and no one wanted to
acknowledge it. So you got what you voted for.
Robert S: I want everything I voted for, no changes just what I
voted for. Go after Meth if you want to help Oklahoma
Matthew M: I knew exactly what I voted for and, if they would’ve
left it alone, there wouldn’t be any problems.
Chris D: Actually Ryan Scott what we voted for was a medication
that had no regulations nor profit margin for big pharma. A natural
solution to the chemicals we have been forced to take. It defined
that we were able to have both smokable and edible forms.
Chris R: The bill was written quite intelligently. The “reefer
madness” stigma is a load of hogwash. Cannabis is far from
dangerous and for the inexperienced the concentrates and edibles
may well be far too potent.
Kris C: Only people who claim 788 was poorly written are
brainwashed with government propaganda. You people are
partially responsible for the opioid epidemic FYI
Rich C: It wasnt written to ban the smoking of the medication. It
was a very broad explanation of how it would be presented to the
public that ill agree with. But making it on the terms they now are
presenting is way off of the presentation that most understood.
Richard J: ...the state effectively kept mmj illegal with their rules,
and that goes 100% against what was voted in. A pharmacist will
lose their license if they dispense, and it would shoot the cost up
dramatically.
Darci T: It’s very simple. The people voted for a policy that gives
the patient and their doctor the power to decide about dosage
and the best method to take the medicine. The patient and their
doctor. The state ruled against the will and the vote of the people.
Whether you’re for mmj or against it, the state has gone against the
vote. It’s wrong and brings the legitimacy of the state government
in question. Mmj is a medicine and people have a right to use it.
Will it be mis-used? Yes. Most good things are misused but we
don’t outlaw them bc of misuse, examples: opioids, food stamps,
welfare, unemployment, SS disability, Medicare, etc.
Erica V: Agree! Well said.
JC J: Actually, we voted for a law that allowed the state Health
Dept. to enact bureaucratic regulations, which is what they are
doing.
Rich C: Bingo
Howard C: And all medicines are regulated which, was called for
in your ballot question
Dylan M: The reason we live in a democracy is to allow those
to vote for their own freedoms, as we should be governed by the
people- not by unelected officials on boards who have ties with the
lawmakers. They knew it would pass, but this is exactly why Mary
Fallin didn’t want to allow a special session in the house, she knew
they would put extreme measures in place.
Mike G: We live in a constitutional Republic ..
Dorothy T: She knew exactly what she was doing when she
appointed the panel she did. She knew what she was going to do
the moment she decided not to hold a special session. I can’t even
put on Facebook what I think of her!

we gon’ fight
A Seminole woman allegedly broke another
woman’s arm after the woman told her to stop
hitting on a man on June 12.
According to the police report, a Seminole officer was dispatched to a residence in the 500
block of W. Walnut to investigate an assault. He
was advised that the suspect, 35-year-old Kassandra Lynn Hooper, had left the area on foot.
He was unable to immediately locate her.
When he arrived at the residence, he met
with the victim, who said Hooper had stopped
by her house and asked for a ride. Hooper took
a liking to a man who was with the victim, and
she started hitting on him.
The victim said she told Hooper she either
needed to leave the man alone or leave the
residence. Hooper became angry and told the
woman, “You’re gonna treat me like that after all I have done for you?”
Hooper also said she was going to “go off” and start hitting someone – and she
did. The victim told the officer Hooper started swinging at her and struck her in the
face. The victim put her arm up in an attempt to block one of the blows. Hooper
hit the woman’s forearm. The victim believed her arm was broken. She also had
several lacerations on her face and two large knots on her forehead.
During the assault, she was able to tell her sister to call the police. Hooper
called the woman some vulgar names and broke a window in the woman’s home
before leaving the residence.
EMS arrived on scene and took the victim to the hospital in an ambulance. On
the ride to the ER, the victim received a call from a private number. Hooper was
on the other line, yelling at her and threatening to hurt the victim.
Doctors later confirmed that the victim’s arm was broken in two places.
Hooper is being charged with aggravated assault and battery and malicious
injury to property under $1,000. Her bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on August 21, 2018.

for the greater good
28-year-old Ada man Eric Eugene Williamson believed police officers were after
him after he busted up a prostitution ring.
He also thought the day was June 27 – it
was June 29.
According to the affidavit, an Ada officer
was dispatched to the 900 block of Tipton
Terrace shortly after 9 a.m. to investigate
reports of a suspicious person. The description of the person matched the looks
of a suspect who was involved in an assault at a hospital earlier that day.
While looking for the man, the officer was
advised he had been spotted near Homer Elementary School in the
1400 block of North Money Vita Avenue. He and other officers arrived on scene and found Williamson. The officer asked Williamson
what was happening.
Williamson said he was being chased by people who were trying to kill him. When the officer asked him to explain, Williamson
said police officers wanted him dead because he had busted up a
prostitution ring. He had evidence on his phone, but he had thrown
it into the pond that was behind the school. He also said someone
had tried to kidnap him.
Suspecting some illicit substances might be involved, the officer
asked Williamson when he had last used meth. The man said it was
the week before. He also thought it was 11 a.m. on June 27, when
it was actually 10 a.m. on June 29.
Williamson was acting erratically and couldn’t seem to sit still.
The officer attempted to conduct sobriety tests, but the man refused to participate after the HGN text. Williamson was advised to
place his hands behind his back, but he started resisting. Two other
officers assisted as the officer placed the man in handcuffs. After he
was restrained, Williamson fell to the ground and refused to stand
up. Two officers picked the man up.
As they were placing him in the patrol car, he kicked one of the
officers in the knee. When the officer was closing the car door, the
man slammed his head into the window to stop the door from shutting. He also continually slammed his head into the window on the

august is back to school
safety month
As summer draws to a close and
children start heading back to school,
family life can get pretty hectic. It’s
important to remember – and share
with your children – some key tips that
will help keep them safe and healthy
throughout the school year.
Getting to School
Whether children walk, ride their bicycle or take the bus to school, it is vitally
important that they – and the motorists around them – take proper safety precautions.
Walkers:
• Walk on the sidewalk; if there is no sidewalk and you must walk in the street,
walk facing traffic
• Before crossing the street, stop and look left, right and left again to see if cars
are coming
• Never dart out in front of a parked car
• Parents: Practice walking to school with your child, crossing streets at cros
walks when available
• Never walk while texting or talking on the phone
• Do not walk while using headphones
Bike Riders:
• Always wear a helmet that is fitted and secured properly
• Children need to know the rules of the road: Ride single file on the right side
of the road, come to a complete stop before crossing the street and walk the
bike across
• Watch for opening car doors and other hazards
• Use hand signals when turning
• Wear bright-colored clothing
Bus Riders:
• Teach children the proper way to get on and off the bus
• Line up 6 feet away from the curb as the bus approaches
• If seat belts are available, buckle up
• Wait for the bus to stop completely before standing
• Do not cross in front of the bus if possible, or walk at least 10 feet ahead until
you can see the other drivers
Drivers, Share the Road:
• Don’t block crosswalks
• Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, and take extra care in school zones
• Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians
• Never pass a bus loading or unloading children
• The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for children; stop
far enough back to allow them to safely enter and exit the bus
