Tecumseh man Jimmy Dwaine Prewett, 34, was arrested in Shawnee after he reportedly used a crowbar in
an attempt to break into a coin machine on May 12.
According to the affidavit, a Shawnee officer was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kickapoo due to a burglary
in progress of an air coin machine shortly after 2 a.m.
The reporting party advised she was asleep in her home
when she heard a loud noise outside. She saw Prewett
hitting a coin machine with a crowbar.
When the officer arrived on location, he saw a woman
and Prewett sitting in a vehicle. They both told him they were there to get air for
a low tire.
He interviewed the subjects separately.
Prewett told the officer the woman picked him up to take him to the casino. He
said he didn’t try to break into the machine, and he didn’t have a crowbar.
Dispatch advised Prewett had two felony warrants out of Pottawatomie County
-- the officer placed him under arrest.
The woman told the officer she hardly knew Prewett, but she had picked him up
to take him to the casino. She said they stopped to get air for a low tire. Prewett
then pulled a crowbar out of his pants and started prying on the machine. She
told the officer she was too scared to tell Prewett to stop.
The woman agreed to let the officer search her vehicle. Underneath the passenger seat where Prewett had been sitting, the officer found the crowbar.
Prewett is being charged with burglary in the second degree. His bond was set
at $10,00, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2015.

Noodling or hand fishing is extremely popular, but can be very
dangerous too. Noodling at night
can be even more dangerous, and
has resulted in several noodlers
drowning, over the past few years.
Regulations were changed, last
year, making it illegal to noodle at
night.
These noodlers were caught illegally noodling at night on June 11, 2015 at Robert S. Kerr Reservoir. Oklahoma
Game Warden J.D. Stauffer (Haskell Co.) apprehended them with one large Flathead and a smaller Blue catfish, both caught well after dark, driving around the
lake in a pontoon boat without required navigation lights. Remember, please be
safe while enjoying our great outdoors!
All were cited for their violations, cases are pending.
NO NIGHTTIME NOODLING!

A pre-school teacher and her husband are accused of
chaining their 14-year-old twin sons to furniture and beating them as a form of punishment.
Brian and Shauna Paque of Texas were both arrested in
April and charged with child abuse after one of their sons
ran crying to a Decatur police headquarters.
The parents were recently released on bond and Shauna
Paque resigned from her job as a pre-school teacher for the
Decatur school district where she was an employee for 11
years. Brian Paque is also a former teacher.
Reports state the boy had a bruised throat, a footprint on
his back, and other injuries when he arrived at police headquarters.
'[He] came through the door crying and everything, just
begging for help,' said Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins.
The boy told police that his mother choked him and hit
him over the head with a pan.
Police found the boy's twin brother at an apartment complex nearby.
He told police that his father unchained him so he could
look for his brother who ran off with a camera.
In the arrest affidavit, Shauna Paque admitted to choking her son while trying
to get a camera away from him with footage of the alleged abuse to prevent him
from giving it to the authorities.
'He got a video camera and he was going to film his mother beating his brother,'
Hoskins said.
Shauna Paque later guided police to her home where she hid the chains used
to restrain her sons.
She showed police how she used the chains to attach her sons to furniture.
'Shauna wrapped the chain around Investigator Pawley's ankles a couple of
times, then advised that they would use a padlock to lock the chains in place,'
said an officer.
Shauna and Brian Paque are free on $20,000 in bond and face multiple felonies. The boys told police the abuse has been going on for over 10 years.
'They told us this abuse they were describing to us had been going on since they
were four,' Hoskins said.
The boys were removed from the home by Child Services until an investigation
is complete.

Recent Arrests For Okfuskee County By Lt. Jeff James
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
With all the water we have received this
year, there seems to have been a large number
of drownings so far on Oklahoma lakes and
waterways, the majority of which could easily
have been prevented. I am going to cover some
of the rules on wearing Personal Floatation
Devices, as well as some strong suggestions regarding them, in the hopes that we
can slow down this alarming trend!
First, let me just say that there are 5 types of PFDs. I’m not going to get into
their descriptions, just which types are required for what situation. All PFDs
must be U.S. Coast Guard approved, and used in accordance with their label. The
label will also state the type. All vessels must carry one wearable (Type I, II, III,
or V) USCG approved PFD for each person on board or being towed. In addition
to that, vessels 16 feet in length or longer must have one Type IV USCG approved
PFD on board and readily accessible. Oklahoma Law requires that all children
under 13 years of age wear an approved PFD whenever underway in a vessel less
than 26 feet in length. Each person on a personal watercraft or sailboard must
wear an approved PFD. Anyone being towed on water skis or similar devices
must wear an approved PFD. Ski belts are not approved PFDs.
Now, besides being USCG approved, all PFDs must be: In good serviceable
condition. They must also be readily accessible. Readily accessible means
you must be able to put the PFD on in a reasonable amount of time in an
emergency. PFDs should not be stowed in plastic bags, in locked compartments,
or have other gear stowed on top of them. They must also be of the proper size
for the intended wearer. Sizing for PFDs is based on body weight and chest
size. A good way to test this, especially for children, is to put it on, adjust the
straps, and have the wearer raise their arms up, and try to pull it up off them. If
it can come off, it is not the right size for the wearer.
Those are the requirements, so now lets talk about the suggestions. If you
have children in or around water, make sure they have a PFD on. Air mattresses,
floaties, and other toy floatation objects don’t count. There have been way too
many stories of toddlers near the water’s edge falling in and drowning, and these
could be prevented by following this suggestion. Also, keep a watchful eye on
those kids...even if they are only out of your sight for a few seconds, its long
enough for them to get in trouble around the water. Last, wear one on boats
even if you don’t have to. In an emergency, you may not have enough time to
put it on. Thanks for reading, buckle up those PFDs and seat belts, and be safe!

Seminole man Chris Wayne Armstrong, 46, allegedly led a deputy straight to some marijuana plants
and attacked the man during a traffic stop.
On June 13, a Seminole County deputy was conducting a traffic stop when the suspect took off running behind a nearby house. The deputy ran after the
man, but the man, identified as Armstrong, hit him
and knocked him over. The deputy got back up and
was able to catch up to Armstrong and placed him under arrest.
More officers arrived to assist.
Once the man was secure, police returned to the
house Armstrong had attempted to hide behind. They
found a camper behind the house. Near the camper
were two marijuana plants in some pots. The plants were about a foot tall, according to the affidavit.
Police also saw two firearms that were visible through the window of the camper.
Armstrong was a convicted felon.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the camper. The firearms were loaded.
Numerous small baggies and a green leafy substance were scattered around the
camper.
Police also found three pipes and a bottle full of marijuana seeds. One of the
pipes tested positive for methamphetamine.
Armstrong is being charged with assault and battery on police officer, resisting
an officer, cultivation of controlled substance, possession of firearm after former
felony conviction, possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 2, 2015.
Such a lovely garden!

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

A Calvin couple was arrested June 3 after they allegedly attacked a
man after the victim made a comment to the couple that they didn’t
like.
On June 2, a Calvin police officer was dispatched to a residence
on Canadian Street shortly after 10 p.m. because a man had been
assaulted. When he arrived, the victim said he told his aunt, 46-yearold Teresa Leanne Howell, and her fiancé, 49-year-old Russell Lynn
Mayberry, that Mayberry would never get off of Howell’s “tit.”
According to the police report, that made the couple angry. Mayberry allegedly pulled the victim out of a car, knocking his glasses
off. He also grabbed the man by the throat and hit him in the chest.
When the victim told the couple he was going to call the police,
Howell ran up behind the man and grabbed him, ripping off his shirt.
A witness told the officer she saw the attack.
The next day, the officer received a phone call. The caller advised
Howell had walked into his house without permission and slapped
the victim (the same one from the day before) in the face.
The victim told the officer that Howell came home and while she
was in the shower, he took his own food stamp card and social security debit card out of her purse. Howell refused to give them to him
the day before.
After retrieving his cards, he left.
Howell found him and slapped him in the face. Five people saw the attack.
While the officer was speaking to the witnesses, Howell and Mayberry pulled up to the
house. Howell admitted she was mad because the victim took his cards back. She also said
she ripped his shirt off the night before, but that’s all she did.
Mayberry denied even touching the victim the night before.
When the officer told him witnesses saw him assault the man, Mayberry said, “They are
lying.”
Mayberry is being charged with aggravated assault and battery. His bond was set at $2,500.
Howell is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault and battery, taking/receiving stolen credit or debit card and breaking and entering with unlawful intent. Her bond was
set at $5,000. They are both scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2015.
Howell, Mayberry arrested for assault

What you’re saying
about this on...
Leon S: I had a flatbed trailer stolen one time I knew exactly where I was at the cop
told me to go steal it back. It’s really just a bunch of bullshit to protect and to serve my ads.
I would sue the police department for not doing their job. I bet if you said the guy with the
iPad had a gun there somebody would’ve showed up.? The next time you’re stealing your
stuff back don’t be so freaking honest only thieves and liars get away with stuff like that
honest people always get caught .
April C: I say the guy is a coward because he used a bat. If you’re going to fight a
mans fight honey, God gave you 2 good hands with fists to take care of business. If you can’t
win with them then you need to pull your big girl panties up and go home.
Preston K: His name is fitting
Kristy J: I had the whole top end of a motor stolen out of my racecar. Called the
sheriffs office because I knew exactly who got it and where it was located. Said they couldn’t
do anything the guy was already in jail for assaulting his gf. That was 6 years ago and still
haven’t gotten part of my motor back. So I applaud this guy!!! Hate a thief and a liar!!!!!
Joshua H: Dude is a hero
Michael L: Even better one, at a rodeo I watched people crawl to their vehicles
stone cold drunk, get in and drive off, in front of the police. When asked if they are going to
bust them for drunk driving, said cop replied with “ no we ain’t going to bust them, if we did
then it would bring bad business against the rodeo” Many times have I seen someone tell
the police that they broke into a place, or that they actually stole what the cop was asking
them about, yet the police did nothing, just thanked them and told them to have a nice day.
Oh wait did I also mention how said person threatened to beat the crap out of someone in
front of the police, and they still did nothing. The only person they got mad at was the one
that called them and told them which city ordinance they was breaking, when they trashed
that persons yard.
Rocky C: That’s bs, they arrested him for stealing his stuff back
Teresa T: Good for him. Give them what they deserve for stealing
Roy C: Unfortunately in most areas if you were to report the theft of the items they’d
take the report and file it and then tell you its a civil matter if you locate your property. You
Tulsa police arrested a man after
he broke into a house, beat up the
homeowner, and took an item and
jewelry Wednesday morning.
Authorities said Brian Masingale
was tracking an iPad that was stolen
from his parents house. The tracking led him to a friend’s house where
Masingale searched the house for
other stolen items. Masingale said he
found a small bag of jewelry that belonged to his parents.
Police say that’s when Masingale
beat the homeowner with a baseball bat. The man is expected to be okay.
Masingale called police to give them his side of the story.
“Upon further talking with him, he believed what he was doing was right. Rather
than getting the police involved, he was just going to recover the property himself,
“ said TPD Sgt. Darren Bristow.
Police say he confessed to everything. Masingale was arrested for assault with a
deadly weapon and first degree burglary.
FOX 25
THE BEAT IS ON!!
would have the burden of proof on you and chances are if you took them to court you would
spend more than the stuff is worth. He may serve some time and pay a fine, but I bet that
“friend” won’t steal from his family again.
Sheryl H: Crazy they make no mention if the thief was arrested. I hope they drop
charges, and the bat did not get hurt in the altercation.
Mary S: I like his style!
Allen G: Temporary insanity plea sounds good to me
Kevin G: “He don’t need no stinking badges”. Ha
Jerimy W: Laws are laws, but I’d take that record with pride!
Margaret K: WHERE Is The Outrage ?? What about the real bad guy ? did he
get arrested ???
Marcie L: Not everyone’s first option is to call the police. I’m always amazed when
I see people on the news who say why didn’t you just call the police, ‘because I was here and
so and so was here and they needed to be dealt with.’ The police weren’t going to track that
IPad and then go in retrieve that guys parents items.
Charlene J: Good job. I hope the judge throws this case out. My daughter had
5700 worth of electronics stolen from her and there were witnesses to who did it in broad
daylight that actually told the police who did it, and still no arrest.
Matthew C: Worth it.
Debora L: They should have let him off with community service and fines. I know
from experience that a lot of the time police don’t follow through and get stolen items back.
It’s justice in my opinion and he was taking care of business.
Jeremy B: Good for him. Save time & make sure a good lesson is learned with swift
justice...
Jeff G: Good for him chances are they would have never got his parents belongings
back. I would do same thing in fact I’ve done things similar

domestic assault in
presence of minor
Ada man David Henry Vick III, 29, and his Sulphur accomplice, 35-year-old Bryan Phillips, allegedly attacked a man and
broke into a woman’s home on May 30. The duo was arrested
for assault after witnesses told police the men were threatening people and causing problems.
According to the police report, Ada officers responded to a
disturbance in progress with weapons in the 600 block of W.
Eighth at approximately 7:30 p.m. When they arrived, they
saw Phillips and a highly intoxicated, shirtless Vick, and a
man who was holding his groin area and “wincing” in pain.
The man told police he heard someone yelling, so he walked
outside and saw Vick and Phillips threatening a woman and a
minor. He said he grabbed a bat and told the men to leave. The
men then approached him and started making threats. The
victim said Vick and Phillips then started attacking him -- his
roommate was able to break up the fight.
The man wasn’t the only person Vick and Phillips terrorized.
A woman told police she lying in her bed in a nearby house,
when Vick kicked down her door and started ransacking her house, looking for
his girlfriend. Vick then yelled at the woman because she didn’t know where his
girlfriend was. She said he grabbed her by the tank top and pulled her out of the
bed, pushing her across the room. The woman told police Vick eventually left and
she heard yelling outside. She saw him and Phillips beating up the victim.
Another witness told police the same story.
Vick had red marks on his left knee what were consistent with being hit by a
bat. He said he was just there to see his girlfriend, and some guy came at him with
a baseball bat. When police asked him who hit him, he said he wasn’t a snitch.
Both men are being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Their bonds were set at $25,000, and they are scheduled to appear in court on
September 16, 2015.

Two years ago, 77-year-old Charles Nieman and his wife stopped
at the Loaf-‘n-Jug convenience store in Boise City to get gas. Nieman was outside his vehicle when a Hispanic male walked up to him
and demanded his wallet. Nieman, who was hard of hearing, turned
to his wife and asked her what the man said. Moments later, the
suspect shot Nieman in the head. The suspect ran from the area.
Nieman was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced
him dead. The Boise City Police Department requested OSBI assistance with the case. Numerous leads were run by agents and local
law enforcement, but the suspect has not been identified. Today, on
the second year anniversary of this case, the OSBI is offering up to
$5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the
man who killed Mr. Nieman. Nieman would have celebrated his 55 wedding anniversary later this
month with his wife Lois. He is also survived by three children and six grandchildren. If you have any
information, please contact the OSBI at 1-800-522-8017
