One woman was unlucky after she dropped her wallet at a local
casino; a Seminole woman snatched it up and made unauthorized
purchases with the victim’s debit cards, totaling more than $1,000.
On Sept. 17, an officer with the Citizen Potawatomie Nation
Police Department
spoke to a woman who told him that she was attempting to get
money from an ATM at the casino when she noticed that her wallet
was missing from her purse, according to the affidavit.
The officer reviewed surveillance tapes from the entertainment
center and saw a suspect, later identified as Christina Elaine
Glimp, 25, pick the victim’s wallet off of the floor and leave the
casino with the stolen property in her possession.
The next day, Sept. 18, the officer was dispatched back to the
casino, because Glimp had returned to the entertainment center and was being held in the
manager’s office.
The officer spoke to Glimp, and she admitted that she had picked the wallet up off the floor.
Then said she had walked out of the building with the wallet in her possession.
The officer placed Glimp under arrest and transported her to jail.
The victim contacted police and said that more than $1,000 in unauthorized purchases had
been made to her debit cards, which had been in the stolen wallet, since Glimp had taken it
the day before.
Glimp is being charged with larceny of lost property. Her bond was set at $1,000 and she
is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2013.

Broken taillights resulted in a
third trip to jail on a DUI charge
for a Tecumseh man after police
discovered he had been driving
while drunk.
On Sept. 20, Tecumseh police
officers were on patrol when they
noticed a vehicle that did not
have any taillights illuminated,
according to the affidavit.
They initiated a traffic stop and
made contact with the driver,
James Richard Bowlin, 32.
It was immediately apparent
to the officers that Bowlin was in no shape to be behind the
wheel. The officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from
Bowlin’s breath and noticed that the man was slurring his speech
and had red, watery bloodshot eyes. An officer asked Bowlin to
exit his car for sobriety testing.
Bowlin was unable to complete the test and kept interrupting
the officer. When the officer explained one of the tests to Bowlin
and told him he could start, Bowlin asked, “Is that an order?”
The officer stopped the test due to the agitation of the man and
placed him under arrest.
The officer put Bowlin in the back of his patrol car and asked
him if he would take the state’s test. Bowlin wouldn’t answer, but
instead kept trying to change the subject.
Bowlin has two previous DUI convictions, according to records.
He is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of alcohol, aggravated and transporting an open
bottle or container of liquor. His bond was set at $3,000 and he
is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5, 2013.

Like true historic
adventure accounts?
The Bible has them.
Korah learned that
God’s power is greater
than his.
Korah complained
against Moses, but
God chose Moses to
lead Israel. Moses
tells him, “Therefore
you and all your
company are gathered
together against the
Lord” (read Numbers
16:16 in your Bible).
God takes it personally when we don’t honor His servants.
Moses was chosen to lead Israel, but the people grumbled.
They didn’t get what they wanted. We are no different than
Korah and his friends.
We don’t take responsibility to change ourselves, we keep
doing the same things, and when we’re caught or suffer, we
complain and blame others.
What happened to Korah? Read it for yourself in your
own Bible, Numbers 16:28-38. Imagine the horror of this
tragic event! Can history repeat itself? Yes!
Bible Says:
History Repeats Itself

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.

Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A 74-year-old Seminole man was
arrested for driving under the influence
after he refused to comply with the
standardized field sobriety test.
On Oct. 5, a Seminole police officer
was on patrol when he was informed that
there was a car traveling on Highway 9 at
very low speeds and impeding traffic; the
reporting party said the driver might be
intoxicated, according to the affidavit.
The officer located the vehicle and
began to follow it. He observed that it
was traveling at an “extremely low speed”
and was impeding the flow of traffic.
The officer activated his emergency equipment and initiated a
traffic stop.
The officer made contact with the driver, later identified as Robert
Lee Harjo, and asked him for his driver’s license and insurance
verification.
Harjo told the officer that he had left his wallet at home. The officer
smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Harjo’s breath and
notices that the man’s speech was heavily slurred.
He asked Harjo how much he had had to drink, and Harjo told him
“four or five.”
The officer ordered Harjo to step out of the vehicle; the intoxicated
man was unsteady on his feet and was noncompliant when the
officer attempted to perform the standardized field sobriety tests.
The officer requested a check on Harjo’s driver’s license and was
informed that his license was suspended.
The officer placed Harjo under arrest and transported him to jail.
Once they were at the jail, the officer asked Harjo several times if he
would take the state’s test; Harjo would not reply.
Harjo is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended. His
bond was set at $5,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on
Nov. 7, 2013.

A Konawa man and his Seminole
girlfriend were arrested after he led
police on a wild goose chase in an
attempt to avoid his inevitable arrest.
On Oct. 7, Seminole County police
went to a Seminole residence to serve
an arrest warrant on 21-year-old Willie
Nielson. When they arrived, they saw a
black vehicle hurriedly drive away from
the residence, according to the affidavit.
Nielson’s girlfriend, Rachelle Nichole
Lovett, 21, told police that when
Nielson had seen the police pull into the
driveway, he told her, “It’s the cops, I got
to go!” and took off in the black vehicle.
Lovett’s phone rang and Nielson’s dad
was on the other end; he asked Lovett if
the police had left and after she told him yes, Nielson’s voice came over
the phone and he asked her to come get him.
Police went to Nielson’s father’s home and located Nielson. Nielson
refused to heed police commands to stop, however, and fled the
property on foot. His family members that were present at his father’s
home were subsequently arrested for aiding in his escape.
The search for Nielson was called off until the next morning and
police obtained a search warrant to search his property. The next
day, Oct. 8, Pottawatomie County and Seminole County police search
Nielson’s residence. Police found items that were believed to be stolen,
including a license plate and the bedroom suite in Nielson’s room.
Later that day, police were informed that Nielson was hiding at
Lovett’s grandmother’s home. When police arrived, the elusive fugitive
once again took off on foot, but this time, he would not be successful in
escaping from police.
After a short foot chase, Nielson was eventually apprehended and
taken into custody. Lovett appeared to be aiding him in his escape and
trying to conceal him from police; she was also arrested.
Lovett is being charged with harboring a fugitive from justice. Her
bond was set at $10,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court on
Nov. 7, 2013.
Nielson is being charged with two counts of possession of a stolen
vehicle, eluding/attempting to elude a police officer, two counts of
obstructing an officer and four counts of knowingly concealing stolen
property. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in
court on Nov. 7, 2013

A Broken Arrow group’s routine traffic stop in Holdenville
ended with one man’s arrest on felony complaints Oct. 1.
Around 5:40 p.m. that day, Holdenville police officer Edward
Dodson was on patrol when he saw the driver of a black Nissan
Frontier not wearing a seatbelt. Dodson followed the truck
while the driver made a left turn, then completed a traffic stop,
confronting a man, who wasn’t arrested.
The man told Dodson he didn’t know who the car belonged to
and that he didn’t know where to find the insurance information.
He also said he didn’t have a valid driver’s license, which
prompted Dodson to detain him. Dodson later determined the
man’s license was suspended but that he had no warrants.
Dodson then spoke to Blain Cullum, 22, who said his name
was Jason. Cullum was nervous and kept sitting on his hands,
and when police tried to detain him, Cullum took off running.
Dodson tackled Cullum to the ground, but Cullum kept his hands at his chest, continuing
to fight, even when Dodson said, “If you keep resisting I’m going to use pepper spray.”
Eventually, Dodson made good on his promise, which made Cullum immediately put his
hands behind his back to comply.
A check of Cullum’s pockets revealed he had marijuana inside, and Cullum’s friend, who
wasn’t arrested, told him “It’ll be all right, Blain” when he started to freak out about going to
jail. Dodson asked about the name discrepancy, and Cullum admitted he lied about his name
because he had several outstanding warrants.
Cullum faces charges of false impersonation, possession of marijuana and resisting an
officer. He remains in custody on bonds totaling $55,000 and has court set for 9 a.m. Oct. 29.
The truth sometimes hurts

Oklahoma Highway Patrol
This month’s Tips is less of a tip
than it is a serious request for help
from you, the motoring public. I would like to make a personal
appeal to each and every reader who sees this to help us Troopers
try to eliminate one of the toughest jobs that we ever have to do. It
is something that everyone who drives can have an impact on.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is tasked with the investigation
of motor vehicle accidents on the public roadways outside the city
limits in the State of Oklahoma. In the course of this, we investigate
a huge number of fatalities. For each fatality victim, it is the duty
of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to personally notify the next of
kin. For each life lost, there is a knock on a door somewhere, where
an OHP Trooper has to deliver news that will forever change the
lives of the person or persons on the other side. Sadly, these knocks
on the door could have been prevented by somebody involved in
the accident. Sometimes it’s the person who died whose unsafe or
unlawful action caused the accident that took their life. Often times
it is not.
Each and every Trooper you see working the roads every day has
had to knock on that door. I think if you asked, every single one
would tell you this is the worst aspect of our job. Trying to prevent
this is one of the reasons we do what we do. We know if we work
hard, we can stop some of these knocks. We also know the motoring
public can help us stop some of these knocks as well. The following
are just a few ways for you to do your part to help.
First and foremost, obey the law. It really doesn’t matter if
your personal opinion of the rules of the road don’t make sense,
or shouldn’t apply in certain situations. Each one of them is
designed for us to travel safely on the road. Slow down, and give
your full, undivided attention to the road. Watch out for the other
driver. When you see something happening ahead of you, slow
down! “I was late”, or “I was texting” just doesn’t cut it as responses
to a grieving family when they ask why this happened. Is it
something you could live with if it was your reason for taking a life?
The people on the other side of that knock aren’t the only ones
affected by the experience. We Troopers have all held strangers as
the initial horror and shock of the news takes hold of them. We
have all prayed with families we just met, and asked if we could have
done more to prevent it. Each and every day we are trying to stop
The Knock. Now I’m asking you to help us. Thanks for reading,
buckle up, and be safe!

Oklahoma County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a substitute
teacher after students reported she was intoxicated and passed
out in a classroom office at Millwood High School.
April Chamberlain, 30, was supposed to be acting as a
substitute in a biology class. Students said she appeared
disoriented and used profanity. When students found
Chamberlain asleep in the office, they contacted a coach, who
informed the principal.
The principal said after she repeatedly shouted and tapped
Chamberlain on the shoulder, the substitute woke up. The principal said
Chamberlain had blood-shot eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol.
When a deputy arrived, she saw an open bottle of Canadian Whisky in
Chamberlain’s purse. The deputy also noted Chamberlain kept slurring and was
unsteady on her feet.
Chamberlain was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail for public
drunkenness.

Recent Arrests For Okfuskee County
Some people just don’t learn
A Mustang man may have to exchange
his driving privileges for prison time
after an arrest for his third DUI following
a police chase Sept. 23.
Sac and Fox officers west of Shawnee
were chasing Jesse Johnson, 27, reported
Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Keith
Robertson. Johnson missed the State
Highway 48 exit and his car rolled over
several times around 10:30 p.m. that
day. When police arrived at the scene,
Johnson was out of it and couldn’t answer
any questions about what happened.
At the hospital under questioning,
Johnson suddenly started twitching
and jerking on the hospital bed. He said
he wasn’t on any medications besides meth, according to the affidavit.
Johnson refused a blood test at the Creek Nation Hospital and was
released back to Sac and Fox police, with a notice of charges being filed
in Okfuskee County.
Johnson was charged Oct. 16 with driving under the influence of
drugs and driving with a suspended license. In 2004, Johnson pleaded
guilty to driving under the influence in Canadian County. He also has a
pending DUI case in Grady County, which stems from an incident in July
where he admitted to having three beers before driving. Last year, he
was charged with a DUI in Pottawatomie County following a high speed
chase with Sac and Fox police. Moreover, Johnson has convictions in
Canadian County from last year of possession of methamphetamine and
domestic abuse in front of a minor.
A court date has not yet been posted in Johnson’s Okfuskee County
case. He remains in custody.
