An Inola pastor should have heeded that Bible verse,
because now he is facing felony charges for sex crimes
after an investigation revealed that he allegedly assaulted several minors.
According to reports, 55-year-old Roy Neil Shoop
was arrested by Rogers County deputies and booked
into jail on May 20.
The investigation, however, started months earlier.
Reports state that the Rogers County Sheriff’s Officer
was given information regarding the man’s crimes from
the Mayes County deputies.
At that time, there was only one known victim, however, further investigation revealed three victims under
the age of 16.
The victims didn’t know each other.
When deputies went to Shoop’s home to place him under arrest, the man was
uncooperative.
Shoop’s wife and son were also uncooperative with police.
Authorities believe there could be more victims.
Shoop is being charged with six counts of lewd/indecent proposals to a minor
and two counts of rape by instrumentation. His bond was set at $300,000, and he
is scheduled to appear in court on August 17, 2020.

OSBI ARRESTS BETHANY MAN AS A RESULT
OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
(OSBI) has arrested 28-year-old Joseph Rogers
after an investigation by the Bureau’s Internet
Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit. The OSBI
investigation was initiated in January 2020 after
a Virginia ICAC unit forwarded images that were
tracked to the Jones, Okla., area. It was determined the images were of a 14-month-old child
and were taken in November 2018.
Rogers is facing multiple charges including Possession, Distribution and Manufacturing of Child
Pornography, Child Abuse and Computer Crimes Act violations. He was
booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a $355,000 bond.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

Marijuana Distributor Charged with
Sex Trafficking of a Child
An Oklahoma marijuana distributor made an initial appearance in federal court on May
22 for allegedly soliciting a woman to molest her 11-year-old child in exchange for help with
living expenses, announced U.S. Attorney Trent Shores.
Thomas James Heiner, 55, of Langley, was charged by Criminal Complaint with sex trafficking of a child.
“The allegations in this Complaint are utterly reprehensible,” said U.S Attorney Trent
Shores. “One of our most important missions at the United States Attorney’s Office is seeking justice for child victims who have been sexually exploited by adults. It is my intention to
bring the full force of the law against this defendant. Moreover, we will argue for his detention while he awaits trial because we believe he poses a significant threat to children in our
community and others. This child sex trafficking investigation and arrest are great examples
of the important work being done by the FBI, Tulsa Police Department, and Homeland
Security Investigations. When these law enforcement entities team up, Tulsans are most
certainly safer and criminals are held accountable.”
During a routine traffic stop on May 16, 2020, a woman reported to the officer that on
multiple occasions a man known as “Sasquatch” offered her cash payments, assistance on
car payments, and a place to live if she would allow him to molest her daughter while the
two adults had sex. According to court documents, “Sasquatch” told the woman that he
had previously done the same with an ex-girlfriend and her daughter. The woman reported
that the man lived in Langley, Oklahoma, and formerly in Utah. Later, authorities learned the
suspect’s name was Thomas Heiner.
On May 17, Heiner allegedly called the woman again and asked her and her minor
daughter to meet in a Tulsa hotel room to engage in sex acts. On May 19, at the direction of
the FBI, the woman took part in several telephone calls with Heiner, which were observed
and recorded by FBI and Tulsa Police Department personnel. According the court documents, Heiner discussed in detail how the two could groom the young girl and coerce her to
take part in sex acts with them. Heiner is also alleged to have described how he previously
molested a 7-year-old child on at least two occasions.
“The arrest of Thomas James Heiner demonstrates our ongoing commitment to apprehending those who prey on innocent children,” said Melissa Godbold, Special Agent in
Charge of the FBI Oklahoma City Division. “The alleged actions of Mr. Heiner are not only a
violation of the law, but can cause irreparable harm to the mental and physical well-being of
young victims. This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated.”
“In law enforcement, we deal with reprehensible acts that decent, law abiding human beings could not possibly fathom,” said Tulsa Chief of Police Wendell Franklin. “This is another
case which destroys the innocence of a child and touches the heart of every justice official
involved in the investigation. Tulsa Police Department extends our heart to child victims who
have endured abuse. May the work performed by our agency and our federal partners—the
FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, and U.S. Attorney’s Office—be feared by any criminal looking to exploit our innocent children.”

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children receive
public assistance and their parents pay no child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

OSBI OFFERS $5000 REWARD IN 2018
CHOCTAW, OKLA., COLD CASE
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads agents to the persons responsible for the
murder of 35-year-old Eric Trammell.
On August 27, 2018, the Choctaw Police Department requested OSBI
investigate Trammell’s death. He was found on NE 36th Street in Choctaw
and had sustained two gunshot wounds. OSBI agents located video surveillance from the area where he was found and discovered Trammell met
with four men about 30 minutes prior to his murder.
Agents have identified one of the suspects as 20-year-old Jaylen Brown.
Now agents need the public’s help to identify and locate the other three
men. The four suspects arrived together in the same car and were the
ones seen speaking to Trammell before he was shot.
If you have any information about Trammell’s murder or can help identify the men involved, contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.
ok.gov. YOU CAN REMAIN ANONYMOUS.
The first image (l-r) has been identified as Jaylen Brown. The second
image is of another suspect going into the store. The third image is of two
suspects speaking with Trammell (who has his back to the camera) and
the fourth image is of the vehicle the four suspects arrived in.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money

you want to pay the warrant and collection fee, a discount on the warrant will be given for a
total that is over $500. No discounts will be given for pay orders. This will not apply to new
arrests. (Partial list, more to come)

Christy Joanna Copeland, 52, and 50-year-old Michelle Ann
Ernst were arrested in Ottawa County on their way back to Springfield, Missouri, after an officer found drugs in their vehicle on May
16.
According to the affidavit, a Miami police officer stopped the
women’s vehicle at approximately 1:48 a.m. near E. Steve Owens
Boulevard and the Turnpike Gate, because the car’s third horizontal brake light was out.
When he approached the vehicle, both the driver, identified as
Ernst, and the passenger, identified as Copeland, just couldn’t
seem to give him a straight story. The women said they were visiting family in Oklahoma, but they didn’t have any overnight bags.
The officer asked Ernst to have a seat in his patrol vehicle. While
they were speaking, she said she didn’t want to cause trouble for
Copeland, but there was approximately 7 grams of meth in the
vehicle. She wasn’t sure if Copeland had anything on her.
After both women were removed from the vehicle, the officer
walked his K9 around the vehicle to sniff for illegal items. Near the
trunk of the car, the dog became excited and started sniffing at
the trunk.
The officer spoke to Ernst and said he believed there was more
than 7 grams in the trunk. She told him that she had 7 grams in her
purse laded into a hypodermic needle. She told the officer where
to find it.
Officers searched the vehicle and found the following: two clear
bags containing a crystal substance, a syringe with a red liquid,
a glass smoking device with white residue, and empty plastic
bags in Copeland’s purse, a bag containing a crystal substance in
Ernst’s purse, a silver metal spoon, a digital scale and $317 in cash
throughout the vehicle.
Copeland denied having anything illegal. When the officer asked
about her purse, she asked for her attorney.
Ernst said the scales and baggies weren’t hers. She told the officer that she wasn’t trying to
sell any drugs, but she was just trying to share it with people.
Both woman were placed under arrest.
Copeland is being charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and unlawful possession of drug
paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $16,000.
Ernst is being charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute and
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $20,000.
Both women are scheduled to appear in court on June 29, 2020.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty OTTAWA COUNTY 23 | JULY 2020
A Florida man was arrested after trying to shoplift 15 quart-sized bottles of motor oil
and 30 DVDs from a 7-Eleven — by stuffing the items down his pants.
It’s the sort of thing you might not believe unless you saw it yourself. Fortunately (or
not, for the man in question), the heist was captured on store security cameras.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged theft occurred at a 7-Eleven
in Lakeland, Fla.
Polk County Det. Phil Ryan was parked outside the store when he says he looked
through the store window and saw William Jason Hall, 38, stuff bottles of motor oil
down his pants.
“Mr. Hall then dropped several movies from the shelf onto the floor, bent down,
stacked the movies on top of one another, picked them up, and slid them down into his
pants too,” reads a police statement on the department Facebook page.
“Then he waddles like a duck out of the store,” Sheriff Grady Judd with the Polk
County Sheriff’s Office told NBC News 8. “Our detective who is sitting in the car, watching all of this, says to himself, ‘Self, I think I’ll arrest him.’”
The detective then walked Hall back into the store, where he proceeded to empty his
haul: 15 bottles of Pennzoil motor oil, and 30 “Treasure Hunt” DVDs. Oh, and in case
you’re wondering (how could you not be?) the man managed his baggy pants-banditry
by tucking the ends of his pants into large work boots – allowing him to then stuff the
aforementioned motor oil bottles and DVDs.
He was given a charge of petit theft, a misdemeanor, but because this was his third
offense for small theft, the charge was upgraded to a felony.
“Mr. Hall, the next time you need some motor oil and last-minute gifts, please pay for
them,” police said. “That guy in the car outside might just be a plainclothes detective.”
Police say Joseph McInnis III, 21, and Tyree McCoy, 22, attempted to stage an armed
robbery at a pub in Woodlawn, Md. There was just one problem: the bar was hosting
a retirement party for a police officer and so was filled to the brim with off-duty cops.
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police
officers,” Baltimore County police Officer Jennifer Peach told WBAL-TV.
According to police, the two men entered the take-out area of Monaghan’s Pub in
Woodlawn and held up an employee at gunpoint, demanding cash.
Meanwhile, dozens of Baltimore County police officers had converged on the pub to
celebrate the retirement of Sgt. David Neal, a 29-year veteran of the force.
“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a
retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and
alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery,”
Peach said.
The two men fled the bar on foot but didn’t make it far before they were apprehended
by police. Neither police nor any employees of the bar were injured during the robbery
or subsequent foot chase.
Jack Milani, the owner of Monaghan’s Pub, told the Baltimore Sun that he’s surprised
anyone would consider robbing his establishment, a known hangout for off-duty cops.
“It’s kind of odd you would even attempt it,” Milani said. “[Police officers] are always
in here. There was a decent amount of them.”
The two men were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun, and
transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center.
A bank robbery suspect in Gwinnett County, Ga., is accused of making a crucial
mistake following his alleged crime — he let his identity be known.
Eric Rivers was arrested in connection with a spree of bank robberies in Lawrenceville, Ga. after he appeared in an on-camera interview with a local news station for an
unrelated story about public transit.
Lawrenceville police say Rivers was suspected of having just robbed a Chase Bank
and was believed to be in the midst of casing several other banks when he agreed to
the interview with the WGCL-TV reporter.
“You see, when you accept an interview and provide them with your real name it actually makes our job too easy,” a statement from the Lawrenceville Police Department
read.
Rivers removed his hat and du-rag, which he is alleged to have worn during the robberies based on security camera images released by police.
Authorities say after the interview, Rivers proceeded to scope out a Fidelity Bank in
the area.
As police investigated the reported robberies, a bank manager said the suspect
walked towards the WGCL news truck after leaving the building.
Police followed up the lead and was provided Rivers’ name by the news station.
Lawrenceville Police Det. Scott Pendergrass believes the reporter caught Rivers “off
guard” and “surprised” him.
The department offered advice to would-be criminals in a Facebook post. “When
after having robbed several banks and you are at another bank casing the place for an
additional robbery and are approached by a news crew in the parking lot … DO NOT
stop and agree to an interview with said news crew,” the statement read.
Police allege Rivers attempted five robberies in total, but was successful in making
away with money in just two incidents.
