say hello to my little friend…
A pair of uninvited guests were met with a
shotgun blast after they allegedly broke into a
house in the Pumpkin Hollow area.
James Levesque, 22, of Tahlequah, was formally charged May 12 with burglary first degree
in Cherokee County District Court. As of press
time, his accomplice, 21-year-old Chase Baker,
has not been charged.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office stated
that at around 5:15 am on the morning of Friday April 24, CCSO deputy James Carver and
Cherokee County Sheriff Jason Chennault responded to a burglary in progress in the Pumpkin Hollow area of eastern Cherokee County.
The reporting party called the Cherokee
County 911 Center and reported two males unknown to him attempted to enter his home by
first breaking a window, which woke him, and
then by breaking into the back door of the residence. The homeowner armed himself with a
shotgun and confronted the suspects as they
entered the door. The homeowner fired the
shotgun at the suspects and they fled the area.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Carver and
Sheriff Chennault located the suspects’ vehicle
parked in the yard of the residence. The vehicle
was loaded with items that had been stolen
from outbuildings on the property. Deputy Carver and Sheriff Chennault
found a foot trail in the wet grass leading away from the residence. CCSO
deputy Austin Cluck and his K9 partner, Lucas, were called to the scene;
Lucas was able to track the suspects’ trail to a dirt road where it appeared
the suspects met a vehicle.
After clearing the scene, deputies Carver and Cluck; Sheriff Chennault
and Deputy Marshal John C. Wofford of the Cherokee Nation Marshal
Service searched the Pumpkin Hollow area and located Levesque, who
matched the homeowner’s description as one of the suspects, near Todd
Access. Deputy Carver interviewed Levesque and Levesque admitted to
his part in the burglary. The vehicle found at the burglary scene was registered to Levesque.
Deputy Carver was able to determine Levesque’s partner to be Baker.
Deputies Carver, Cluck, Aaron Johnson, and Deputy Marshal Wofford located Baker at a residence in the Briggs area and arrested him. Levesque
and Baker were taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center where
they were booked for the felony crimes of First Degree Burglary and Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property.
Levesque and Baker were not injured by the fired shotgun. The recovered stolen property will be returned to the burglary victim.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

drug distributer sentenced to
15 years in federal prison
Takila Shauntel Carpenter, 34, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee was sentenced to 180
months’ imprisonment, and 5 years of supervised release for Possession With Intent To
Distribute Methamphetamine. The charges
arose from an investigation by the Sequoyah
County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations (“HSI”).
The Indictment alleged that on or about
September 19, 2019, Carpenter knowingly
and intentionally possessed with intent to
distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or
substance containing a detectable amount of
methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled
substance.
United States Attorney Brian J. Kuester said, “Each year methamphetamine
cuts short the lives of hundreds of Oklahomans and thousands more across
the Nation. As the death toll continues to rise, drug cartels continue to flood
our country with this poison. I commend the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office
and HSI for this multi-jurisdictional investigation. Their investigation and the
resulting prosecution prevented kilograms of methamphetamine from distribution into communities and has put an end to this defendant’s role in trafficking drugs.”
“Methamphetamine ravages and negatively impacts societies across this
nation, and individuals involved in the trafficking of this dangerous drug are
contributing to the demise of countless lives and devastation of our communities,” said Ryan L. Spradlin, special agent in charge of HSI Dallas. “Every time
we put a meth pusher behind bars, we’re protecting our citizens and that’s a
win for public safety.”

OSBI ARRESTS WEBBERS FALLS POLICE CHIEF
Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation (OSBI) arrested the chief of the
Webbers Falls police department on April 29
after an altercation with an officer in the department.
Matthew Crittenden, 34, was charged May
7 with assault and battery on a police officer,
feloniously pointing firearm, and carrying firearm while under the influence, in Muskogee
County District Court.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m.
on April 28, and involved the chief assaulting
one of the officers in his department. Crittenden allegedly choked and then punched his
subordinate on the side of his stomach. The
officer did not retaliate against Crittenden and
resumed his patrol.
A short while later, the officer was called back to the police department.
When the officer arrived, Crittenden allegedly pointed a firearm at the officer
and said, “What do I have to do, pop a few rounds off over your head?”
The reason for Crittenden’s anger against the officer, according to the affidavit, was that Crittenden wanted the officer to “become more active while
at work.”
Another officer with the police department, who witnessed the altercation,
told investigators that Crittenden was upset that night over the recent death
of his wife and the work performance of the officer, and was drinking. He also
got a bottle of vodka from the evidence storage cabinet at the police department and drank it at the police department. Crittenden was wearing a gun
during that time.
The witnessing officer contacted the OSBI and requested an investigation.
Based on that investigation, Crittenden was arrested and booked into the
Muskogee County Jail.

The epitome of hate
A Coweta man with a long history of violence
was taken into custody for outstanding warrants, but the hate that spewed from his mouth
while getting hauled off to jail is what got him
into even more trouble.
According to the Wagoner County Sheriff’s
Office, on May 6, Wagoner County Deputies
J. Carey, K. Phillips, and Coweta Police Officers served an arrest warrant in the area of
East 171stand South 209th Street. The suspect, identified as Tommy Langston of Coweta,
Oklahoma had an outstanding felony warrant
through Wagoner County for Kidnapping, Domestic Assault and Battery, and other charges.
Upon arriving in the area, Deputies and Officers discovered the suspect waiting for a ride outside. A Deputy used his patrol car PA System
to give the suspect orders to comply with law enforcement. With some
resistance, Langston eventually complied and dropped to his knees and
surrendered. Deputy Phillips took the suspect into custody and advised
him of his outstanding warrants. As the suspect was walked back to the
patrol car, he actively tried to pull away from deputies multiple times and
had to be asked to keep walking.
Once Langston was in Deputy Carey’s patrol car, he started to become
agitated and shout obscenities. Langston became enraged and started
slamming his body up the vehicle door and window. While in transport to
the Wagoner County Detention Center, Langston made statements to the
Deputy that “it was a good thing that he did not have his gun, or he would
have killed every one of them.” After additional threatening statements, he
asked the Deputy for “the name of the N***** cop that put handcuffs on
him because he was going to hunt him down and kill him.” The suspect,
Langton continued, “I hope that n***** cop is the one that opens the door
because I’m going to kill him.”
Langston made several comments about as soon as he gets out, he
is going to harm other individuals that had him locked him up. He was
booked into the Wagoner County Detention Center on the outstanding
felony warrant and charged with the following additional charges: Assault
on a Police Officer and Plan, Attempt, or Conspire to perform act of violence. Additionally, the Arkansas State Board of Parole has placed a hold
on the suspect.

A self-professed rapper and his passenger were arrested for having drugs in their possession during a
traffic stop on May 5.
Getting arrested for drugs? Maybe this incident
will provide J Diggs with some more material for his
rhymes.
According to reports, Rogers County deputies
stopped the duo’s vehicle for multiple traffic violations
on I-44 in Catoosa. Diggs was behind the wheel. Deandrea Russell was riding shotgun.
While speaking to Diggs and Russell, a deputy noticed that the couple seemed extremely nervous. They also told police different stories about what they had been doing and where they were going.
Deputies noticed the odor of raw weed in the vehicle. The suspects were
placed under arrest. Deputies seized weed and $11,745 in cash in the
couple’s vehicle.
Apparently, Diggs does have some Youtube videos of him up spitting
some bars, but he also has a rap sheet that includes attempted murder in
Hawaii and other drug deals.
Diggs and Russell were booked into the Rogers County Jail for drug
possession charges. Both of their bonds were set at $11,000.
Court dates for the suspects were unavailable at time of print.

A Monkey Island man, who is a convicted
felon, could be facing federal gun charges after
slew of law enforcement agencies descended
upon his home and found several weapons,
ammunition, drugs and paraphernalia in his
possession.
Undersheriff Tracy Shaw reported a multi-jurisdictional team served a search warrant on a
Monkey Island residence, in the Isles End subdivision on the west side of Grand Lake. Shaw
reported investigators from Delaware County
Sheriff’s Office, members of the local 13th District Attorney’s Major Crime Task Force, Officers
from Cherokee County 27th District Attorney’s
Drug Task Force at Tahlequah; an Agent from
the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and officers
from the Department of Corrections Probation
and Parole Division converged on the residence
of Carl Jay Earp, 37, to serve the warrant.
The search warrant was the result of an earlier investigation by Sheriff’s Deputies into allegations, Earp, a convicted felon, and on probation, was illegally in
possession of firearms. During the initial phase of the search at the residence,
officers recovered methamphetamine and paraphernalia from the person of Earp.
A coordinated search of the premises resulted in two firearms and a quantity
of ammunition being recovered. A loaded 12 gauge shotgun was found in a side
building where Earp spends most of his time. A .22 cal AR 15 style rifle was recovered from his truck. It was also loaded with a 30 round magazine and one in
the chamber.
Earp was arrested and taken to the Delaware County Jail where he was booked
in. After the firearms were recovered, the .22 cal rifle was taken to a former owner.
He identified the gun as being the one traded to Earp. At the same time, he noticed the shotgun in the Sheriff’s car and identified it as being his and stolen from
his residence. He was not aware it was gone.
Probable Cause affidavits will be prepared for Earp on state charges and sent to
