Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty ROGERS COUNTY 5 | NOVEMBER 2021
An Owasso man who killed his stepfather in March
2020 pleaded guilty on October 8 in federal court,
announced Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
Jordan Taylor Kuykendall, 24, pleaded guilty to
voluntary manslaughter in Indian Country.
“Too many lives are taken by senseless acts of
violence and countless families are left to grieve,”
said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “These
crimes are malicious and inexcusable. This office
and our law enforcement partners will continue to
hold perpetrators of violent crime accountable.”
In his plea agreement, Kuykendall admitted that
on May 17, 2020, he got into an argument with his
stepfather, Charles Botts, and stabbed him, resulting in the victim’s death.
On the night of the incident, Mr. Botts intervened when Kuykendall, who
was intoxicated, assaulted his mother. He pulled Kuykendall off the mother and pinned him down on the floor. When he released Kuykendall and
walked away to his bedroom, the Kuykendall followed him with a knife.
Inside the bedroom, the defendant fought with the victim and stabbed him.
The FBI and Owasso Police Department conducted the investigation.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

THE TOWN OF SOUTH COFFEYVILLE WOULD LIKE TO KEEP YOU OUT OF JAIL!
If you have a warrant with the Town of South Coffeyville, Okla., and would like to get rid of
that warrant once and for all, you can contact the Court Clerk at 1-918-255-6045, option 1.
When a warrant is issued, the amount is sent to a collection agency. At that time, the collection agency will have an additional fee of 25% of the amount of the warrant added onto the
amount due. The town is offering two options at this time. If you would like a pay order, you
will need to pay 35% down of the amount due and sign a pay order. After 35% is paid and
a pay order is signed, the warrant will be recalled and the collection agency will be paid. If
you want to pay the warrant and collection fee, a discount on the warrant will be given for a
total that is over $500. No discounts will be given for pay orders. This will not apply to new
arrests. (Partial list, more to come)

RZR BURN
Bernice man Garry Lamont Toomey, 45, was
caught stealing some stuff after he broke into a
motorhome on September 12.
According to reports, a Delaware County
deputy was dispatched to a residence on
Highway 85A in Afton to investigate a burglary.
A woman reported that she and her husband
caught someone stealing parts off of their RZR
side-by-side UTV. She said her granddaughter
saw the man shortly after 10 a.m. in the blue
RZR. When the woman and her husband went
to the property to see what was going on, they
saw a “tall, skinny guy with a hat on” in the RZR.
They yelled at him, and the man took off through the yard.
They confronted him, and the woman’s husband told the man, later
identified as Toomey, to sit down against a tree until an officer arrived.
The woman, her husband, and the officer found a wheel barrel full of
stuff. They also noticed that some windows were popped out of the motorhome.
Some items that Toomey allegedly stole but were recovered at the scene
included two sets of pliers, a light bar, an underwater light display, fencing
supplies, a new hot box, a solar box fence stretcher, strobe lights, electrical supplies, marker flags, new signs, some bolt cutters, and three sets of
goggles.
The cost of the items totaled $3,470.
Toomey told the deputy that he had been walking along the highway
all night when he saw the motorhome. He broke into the motorhome to
rest. He also ate some Cheetos and drank some water. He admitted to
the deputy that he took some lights off of the blue RZR. He also took three
different sun goggles off of the UTVs, but the owners arrived and yelled at
him to stop.
While speaking to Toomey, the deputy noticed a yellow wheelbarrow
behind the motorhome. The deputy and the victims went to see what was
inside the wheelbarrow. The woman said she saw some of their stuff that
was taken from a storage building.
Toomey told the deputy that the wheelbarrow belonged to him. The
deputy asked Toomey to separate his belongings in the wheelbarrow from
the things he stole from the victims.
Toomey is being charged with attempted grand larceny and breaking
and entering with unlawful intent. His bond was set at $3,000. He pleaded
guilty/nolo contendre to the charges and is scheduled to appear in court
on December 12, 2021.

SHOOTING ARREST -- Man arrested after
shooting his neighbor.
Around 3:15 p.m. on October 12, officers
got called out to a shooting near 4300 N. Iroquois Ave. A woman called police saying her
neighbor shot her 23-year-old grandson.
The victim told officers he went to the
neighbor’s house to talk to him about WIFI.
After knocking on the door twice, the victim
says Edward Deonta White fired several gunshots through the window, hitting the victim
once in the shoulder.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is
expected to be okay.
Officers setup a perimeter around the
house. After 30 minutes of announcements without a response, the Special
Operations Team was activated. Officers also talked with a family relative who
identified White and provided additional information.
After several hours of making announcements, the SOT team made entry in
the house and found White had escaped.
Officers then received information that Edward White was spotted at several
area convenience stores. Eventually, Edward White was caught at a Walmart
fighting with deputies.
Edward White was arrested for:
Shooting with Intent to Kill AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)
Possession of a Firearm AFCF
Drug Possession AFCF

BIMMER BUMMER
An 18-year-old man from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, was put behind bars in Ottawa County
after he allegedly stole a vehicle from a gas station in Fairland on October 2.
According to the affidavit, a Fairland officer
was dispatched to a convenience store in the
600 block of West Conner Avenue at approximately 8:45 a.m. The victim said he left his silver BMW running after pumping gas. He went
inside the use the restroom and when he returned, his car was gone.
The store’s owner showed the officer surveillance taken from the security cameras. The officer watched as a red Ford Escape, occupied by two suspects, pulled up
next to the silver BMW. When the victim walked inside the store, the driver
of the Ford walked around the BMW. The passenger of the Ford jumped
into the driver’s seat. The Ford’s driver then got into the driver’s side of the
BMW.
A woman said she saw the vehicles turn into a storage unit south of
town.
The officer saw both vehicles traveling westbound on Railway Avenue.
He stopped the BMW with his weapon drawn and saw a shotgun barrel
sticking out from behind the driver’s head. The driver accelerated, initiating
a pursuit.
The driver blew through stop signs and reached speeds above 100
mph. At Main Street and Church Street, the BMW hit an uneven part of the
street and bottomed out, releasing a cloud of smoke. The officer found the
abandoned vehicle at Church Street and Maple Street.
Officers searched for the suspect, later identified as Dominick Edwin
Shadoan. The officer saw Shadoan run onto some private property at the
old lumber yard. Officers caught up to the man and placed him in handcuffs. They found an unloaded Glock 17 tucked in his waistband.
In the stolen vehicle, officers found three shotguns and a revolver. The
owner of the BMW confirmed the guns weren’t his.
An officer who responded to a burglary call advised that the guns were
stolen from the residence he had just come from.
Shadoan is being charged with larceny of an automobile, aircraft, or
other motor vehicle, knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property,
possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, endangering
others while eluding/attempting to elude a police officer, and burglary in
the second degree. His bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to
appear in court on October 20, 2021.
