COLLINSVILLE MAN SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS IN PRISON AFTER
CAUGHT WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DEPICTING THE RAPE AND
MURDER OF CHILDREN
Collinsville Man Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison After Caught
with Child Pornography Depicting the Rape and Murder of Children
Chief U.S. District Judge John F. Heil III sentenced Chance Jennings Daykin, 26, to 14 years in federal prison followed by a lifetime
of supervised release.
“Chance Daykin accessed the dark web to feed his child pornography habit,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “He
uploaded child pornography, viewed pedophile instruction books,
and discussed, with others online, how to obtain children to rape
and murder. Thanks to the work of the Rogers County Sheriff’s
Office and federal prosecutors Julie Childress and Chris Nassar,
Daykin will serve the next 14 year in federal prison.”
“I want to remind the public that the viewing of child pornography is not a passive crime. The demand for this material fuels the
physical and sexual abuse of children around the world.”
On May 10, 2021, Daykin pleaded guilty, to distribution and receipt of a visual depiction of a
minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and with possession of child pornography.
Daykin admitted to distributing and receiving child sexual abuse material via electronic means
from Dec. 19, 2019 to Oct. 19, 2020. He further admitted to knowingly accessing with intent
to view the child pornography. Some of those images and videos depicted the sexual abuse of
minors who were younger than 12 years of age.
Specifically, on Dec. 19, 2019, Daykin uploaded images and videos of child pornography
to dropbox.com. A search warrant was obtained for Daykin’s IP address based on a cyber
tip sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that reported the Dropbox
uploads. The search indicated the IP user was associated with an address in Collinsville. On
Oct 19, 2020, the Roger’s County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the address and
arrested the defendant.
Images recovered on the defendant’s electronic devises included bestiality and the rape of
infants and prepubescent children. At least one image showed an infant either dead or seriously
injured who had been sexually abused.
In a sentencing memorandum, prosecutors outlined evidence discovered during the investigation showing the defendant’s behavior was escalating.
-After his arrest, Daykin admitted that he had a problem with child pornography and had
sought treatment.
-In a recovered online conversation, Daykin bragged that he had access to children and
had given a 7-year-old a bath and sexually abused her. Investigators could not substantiate
the claim.
-On Dropbox, Daykin shared links and asked “Got any kids screaming? Those are hard to
find.”
-In an online conversation with an individual he was communicating with, the two discussed
setting up a Kik account for her young cousin so Daykin could reach out to the cousin.
-In multiple conversations with another individual online, Daykin repeatedly asked the individual if she had found parents who would let them “use their preteen girls.” At one point, the
individual says she met a mother who needs money and was negotiating with her. In another
conversation, the defendant stated that he wanted to “rape and kill” and later said “a little girl
just adds more flavor.”
During the sentencing hearing, Daykin’s attorney reminded the court that while the communications were wrong and disturbing, the conversations were a lot of talk that “never left
the desktop.” He also pointed to the defendant’s acceptance of responsibility, lack of criminal
history and long-term difficulty with socialization.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Childress countered, saying Daykin’s pattern of sustained criminal acts were not simply a mistake. She argued that his actions showed an escalating and
predatory sexual interest in the rape and murder of children. She further reminded the Court
that the defendant had downloaded software to try to conceal his actions. Childress described
Daykin as a clear threat to society, arguing the acts necessitated a minimum of 180 months in
federal prison. She argued that a lengthy sentence would protect the public, serve as a deterrent to others, and allow the defendant to get the long-term treatment needed to counter his
deviant addiction.
Following sentencing, Daykin was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service
until transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys
Julie Childress and Chris Nassar prosecuted the case.

OCTOBER IS NATIONAL
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
The following is a list of early warning
signs that someone may be abusive.
This list was put together by survivors of
domestic violence who reflected on the
early phases of the battering relationship
and identified some of the early warning
signs of abusers.
Someone who:
• Wants to move too quickly into the relationship.
• Does not honor your boundaries.
• Is excessively jealous and accuses you of having affairs.
• Wants to know where you are all of the time and frequently calls, emails
and texts you throughout the day.
• Criticizes you or puts you down; most commonly tells you that you are
“crazy,” “stupid” and/or “fat,” or that no one would ever want or love you.
• Says one thing and does another.
• Takes no responsibility for their behavior and blames others.
• Has a history of battering.
• Blames the entire failure of previous relationships on their partner; for example, “My ex was a total bitch.”
• Grew up in an abusive or violent home.
• Insists that you stop spending time with your friends or family.
• Seems “too good to be true.”
• Insists that you stop participating in leisure interests.
• Rages out of control and is impulsive.
Pay attention to the “red flags “and trust your instincts. Survivors of domestic violence frequently report that their instincts told them that there was
something wrong early on but they disregarded the warning signs and didn’t
know that these signs were indicative of an abusive relationship. Always take
time to get to know a potential partner and watch for patterns of behavior in
a variety of settings. Keeping in touch with your support system and participating in good self-care can lower your risk of being involved in an abusive
relationship.

OSBI INVESTIGATING DOUBLE HOMICIDE IN
LEEDEY
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
(OSBI) is investigating a double homicide that occurred early September 13 in Leedey. The Dewey
County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance after
they responded to the Leedey Ambulance Barn and
located Angel Boyd, 44, and Stacy Boyd, 31, deceased from gunshot wounds. Angel Boyd was an
EMT for Leedey and Stacy was Angel’s sister-in-law.
Angel’s husband, Mitchell Boyd, told investigators that his sister Stacy’s live-in boyfriend wanted
to come talk to him. Mitchell arranged for Tye Sechrist and Stacy to come to his and Angel’s home in
Leedey early this morning to talk. When they didn’t arrive, he tried calling both
Angel and Stacy. When neither answered, he went to the ambulance barn and
found them both deceased. The sheriff’s office received a 9-1-1 call at 3:10
a.m. reporting the double homicide.
Sechrist was taken into custody at the home he and Stacy shared at 7:18
a.m., after calling authorities to turn himself in. He was booked into the Dewey
County Jail this afternoon. He is facing two counts of Murder in the First Degree.

An Inola man was charged earlier this month in
federal court in connection with the death of a Locust Grove man.
Daren Gilson Puffinbarger was indicted on
September 10 with First Degree Murder in Indian
Country.
On Aug. 18, 2021, Puffinbarger, 32, of Inola, is
alleged to have killed Lucas Sanders by shooting
the victim in the head six times while the victim
was in bed at his home in Locust Grove. He then
allegedly set the victim’s bed and body on fire.
The fire caused substantial damage in the bedroom. Agents located two small propane torch
kits in the bedroom, one on the bed and the other
sitting upright on the floor next to the bed.
The FBI and Mayes County Sheriff’s Office are the investigative agencies.

THE TOWN OF SOUTH COFFEYVILLE WOULD LIKE TO KEEP YOU OUT OF JAIL!
If you have a warrant with the Town of South Coffeyville, Okla., and would like to get rid of
that warrant once and for all, you can contact the Court Clerk at 1-918-255-6045, option 1.
When a warrant is issued, the amount is sent to a collection agency. At that time, the collection agency will have an additional fee of 25% of the amount of the warrant added onto the
amount due. The town is offering two options at this time. If you would like a pay order, you
will need to pay 35% down of the amount due and sign a pay order. After 35% is paid and
a pay order is signed, the warrant will be recalled and the collection agency will be paid. If
you want to pay the warrant and collection fee, a discount on the warrant will be given for a
total that is over $500. No discounts will be given for pay orders. This will not apply to new
arrests. (Partial list, more to come)

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

DRUG TASK FORCE AGENTS ARREST
WOMAN FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
Two agents with the Drug Task Force arrested a Grove woman after they found meth
in her possession during a traffic stop on August 13.
According to the police report, the agents
were at the 4-way stop at 630 Road and 260
Road watching for traffic violations when they
saw a vehicle traveling eastbound on 260 approaching the intersection. They noticed the
driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. When they
checked the tag on the 90s Buick, they were
advised the tag actually belonged to a 2007
Pontiac G6.
They stopped the vehicle approximately
300 yards east of the intersection and made
contact with the vehicle’s occupants – two
men and three women.
While checking the occupants’ information, the agents were informed that
two of the passengers had warrants for their arrest. The women, one of them
identified as 21-year-old Laci Beth Thole, told the agents they had marijuana
and pipes in their possession.
An agent asked Thole which bag belonged to her. When he searched it, he
found a plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance. He kept looking and
found 10 more bags containing the same substance. He also found more
plastic baggies, two syringes, and $490 in cash.
The agents searched the belongings of the other occupants, but they didn’t
find any more substances. They placed Thole under arrest and transported
her to jail.
The substance found in Thole’s purse tested positive for meth and weighed
a total of approximately 136 grams.
Thole is being charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, methamphetamine.
Her bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
September 20, 2021.

ABSOLUTELY SENSELESS
33-year-old Travis Johnson is being held
without bond after he allegedly stabbed a
man during an argument about a cellphone
on August 23.
According to the affidavit, Miami police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of B
Street Northeast to investigate a stabbing.
When they arrived at the location, they found
a man on the ground who was suffering from
several stab wounds.
The victim’s sister told police that her brother and Johnson were at her home visiting. At
some point, they started arguing about Johnson’s cellphone. The woman told the men
they needed to leave. She told officers that
after the men left, her doorbell surveillance camera caught what happened
outside in the driveway.
Johnson exited the residence first. The victim followed close behind and got
into the driver’s side of a white truck that was parked in the driveway. Johnson
climbed in on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. They must have continued
the argument, because just a few moments later, Johnson jumped out of the
truck and ran around to where the victim was sitting. He grabbed the victim
out of the truck and then pulled him to the back of the vehicle. Johnson
stabbed the victim in the back, and the victim fell to the ground.
The victim later succumbed to his injuries and passed away at a local hospital.
Johnson is being charged with murder in the first degree. He is being held
without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 15, 2021.
