Prince
Jacole Prince, a 29-year-old Missouri woman was jailed Friday after she allegedly
starved her daughter nearly to death - forcing her to live in a urine and feces soaked
closet
According to police, officers were dispatched to Prince’s apartment complex after
receiving a report that a little girl was being forced to live in a closet.
When officers arrived at the residence, two neighbors informed them that Prince
left her apartment a short time earlier with her “two daughters.” The two neighbors
did not realize that Prince had three daughters, because they had never seen her
eldest 10-year-old daughter.
After performing a forced entry into the apartment, officers followed a strong
odor of urine and feces to a small utility closet that was barely large enough to hold
the hot water heater inside.
The closet door had been tied shut, and a portable baby crib had been pushed
against the door to keep it closed.
When officers asked if anyone was inside the closet, the little girl locked inside answered “yes.”
Investigators say police discovered a 10-year-old girl inside who was standing in a puddle of her own feces
and urine. The girl was severely malnourished, weighting just 32 pounds.
Detectives are not sure how long the victim had been confined to the closet, but neighbors did not know
about the girl during the five-year period they had been acquainted with Prince.
Prince has two additional daughters that are 3 and 8 years old. She admitted to detectives that she locked
her daughter in the closet because she was embarrassed over how the child looked and was afraid that child
protective services would be called.
The victim was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment in what will be a very long recovery process, according to experts.
Prince was booked into the Jackson County Jail and charged with felony counts of assault, child abuse and
endangering the welfare of a child. Prince’s bond has been set at $200,000.

A former Kwik Mart store clerk faces a
felony charge of embezzlement after police say she stole nearly $2,000.
On July 10, Marlow police officer Antonio Aguilera took an embezzlement report from a Kwik Mart store manager in
the city.
The manager reported that a woman
deposited $1,700 into a filing cabinet in
the store’s office July 6. Two days later,
the same employee, Marla Woody, 47,
went into the store’s office even though
she was not working that day. She went
into the cabinet and took the bag of money, which contained $1,700
cash, the manager said.
Also on July 8, Woody removed $70 from a cash register. Her employer told Aguilera there are cameras in the office and gave the officer videotaped evidence of Woody’s acts.
When Aguilera watched the tape, he said three other employees
had access to the money, but that none of them removed any of it. He
added seeing Woody take a white paper money sack from the office
and that the manager handed him the empty sack.
At the Marlow Police Department, Woody told Aguilera she took
the money out to make change for employees, despite the fact that
she was not working July 8. When Aguilera asked if she was near the
receipt box where the empty money sack was found, she said, “it was
possible I could have gotten in it.”
When asked about the $70 from the cash register, Woody said she
took it out to break a $100 bill. However, she never put the money
back and her manager said the register was short $70 that day.
Once shown video evidence of her actions, Woody admitted to
stealing from her employer.
Woody was arrested July 15 and posted a $7,500 bond the next
day. She will appear in court at 2 p.m. Aug. 17.

death Row
Michael Hooper
The Oklahoma Court of
Criminal Appeals set Aug.
14 as the execution date for
Canadian County death row
inmate Michael Edward
Hooper, 39.
Hooper was convicted and
sentenced to death for the
murder of his ex-girlfriend,
Cynthia Lynn Jarman, 23,
and her two children, Tonya
Kay Jarman, 5, and Timmy
Glen Jarman, 3, on Dec.
7, 1993. Hooper shot each
victim in the head twice and
buried their bodies in a shallow grave in a secluded fi eld.
The victims had been missing for several days before
being discovered.
The truck that Cynthia had been driving also was
found abandoned and burned. Police records, including
domestic violence reports, show that Hooper and Jarman
had previously been in a physically violent relationship.
The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Hooper’s
convictions in 2002, but overturned his death sentences.
Hooper claimed his legal counsel made mistakes during
the second stage of his trial. In a 2004 hearing, Hooper
was once again sentenced to death.
Attorney General Scott Pruitt requested the execution
date on June 4, after the United States Supreme Court
denied the inmate’s fi nal appeal.

A would-be car thief was arrested
July 17 for assault with a dangerous
weapon.
Duncan police detective William
Fitzhugh reported that two people
came to the police department stating Malik Wilson, 18, attempted to
steal one of their vehicles on June 16.
The other victim said he went to stop
Wilson, but Wilson assaulted the pair
to the point where they were hospitalized, he said.
The male victim said he was talking to the female victim when Wilson
told them the car’s headlights were on.
Soon after, Wilson was in the vehicle and the victim tells him to “get
the f--- out of the car.”
That upset Wilson, who got out of the car and punched the male in
the face. When the female tried to break up the fight, Wilson punched
her in the throat and pulled out a knife, according to an affidavit.
Wilson dropkicked the male in the face after pushing him to the
ground. After the male got back up, he punched Wilson and kicked
him in the groin, he said.
The female victim said she told Wilson she did not need to turn off
her headlights, as she would soon be leaving her house. Wilson then
got inside her car and tried to drive away, she said.
Two witnesses also filled out statements supporting the victims’ account. One of the witnesses said Wilson told him, “Touch me again
motherf---er and I will kill you.”
Authorities charged Wilson and issued a warrant for his arrest July
13. He remains in custody on a $150,000 bond.
Wilson was previously charged with injury to property in January.
He pleaded guilty and received a one-year suspended sentence.

On July 12, Agents from the OSBI Internet Crimes Against
Children Unit and Child Abuse Response Team arrested
Theodore Kevin Booker, 40, for multiple sex crimes.
Booker was arrested at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma
City where he worked as a cook.
The case was initiated in response to a complaint from the
victim’s family and a request for assistance from the Warr Acres
Police Department.
A family member reported a minor female was talking with
Booker on Facebook and cell phone text messaging, when she
sent him nude pictures of herself. Several computer related
items and cell phones were seized and forensically examined by
the OSBI Computer Crimes Unit agents.
Booker was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of Violation of
the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, Possession of Child Pornography, Rape II,
Forcible Oral Sodomy, Solicitation of a Minor, and Violation of the Oklahoma Alcoholic
Beverages Act.
Bond was set at $263,000.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma
Department of Human Services to impact the huge social
problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the
child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts
order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
It’s ALL about the KIDS!
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a
productive life. Children have the right to get support from both parents and do not
lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost
of raising children. When children receive public assistance and their parents pay no
child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

CRACKED TURTLE LANDS CITY MAN IN JAIL
Oklahoma City police arrest a metro man for assaulting a
turtle.
Neighbors in Southwest Oklahoma City apparently called
police after seeing Derrick Peace pick up the tortoise and
throw it into the street. It landed with so much force, it’s shell
cracked.
Police say the turtle was taken to the Oklahoma City Zoo so
it could recover.
Peace faces an animal cruelty charge.
What you’re saying
about this on...
Brandy B: Wow...jerk!!!
Julie W: He’s not fit to live among the
public! Disgusting!!! So glad someone saw it
& he was arrested!
Jennifer I: Lol seriously?! I like turtles
but r we gonna start chasing people that run
turtles over on purpose? Come on!
Candis M: Disgusting! People like him
make me sick!
Lindsay W: Seriously? We are putting
people in jail for this? Do they have proof
that he did it? Eye witnesses aren’t even good
enough when you beat your children!! I agree
it wasn’t the best idea to hurt the innocent
animal, but JAIL?? What’s wrong with this
picture, people????
Susan W: Why would anyone even want
to do something like that? Freak!
Misty L: This guy is such a pathetic piece
of trash, I’d rather he hurt himself than a
helpless animal. Absolutely worthless.
Susan K: Sicko. Humans will probably be
his next victims.
Christy M: but seriously put the man in
jail for throwing a turtle wow
D Ariana H: Wish i could throw that ugly
man id crack his shell! People like him dont
deserve to be here...makes me sick!
Sad to see a guy with “Little Man Complex”
taking it out on a turtle. If you aren’t planning on eating it, don’t try to kill it......
Robert H: Sad to see a guy with “Little
Man Complex” taking it out on a turtle. If
you aren’t planning on eating it, don’t try to
kill it......
Rachel B: They do say early signs of becoming a psycho growing up is abusing animals, maybe its a good idea that he’s in jail.
Better a turtle than a human if I must say.
Amanda L: What a freaking idiot! He had
nothing better to do so he decided to crack
the only thing that keeps that poor turtle
safe? Shame.
Larry T: cellmate: So, what didja do? Mr.
Peace : I BEAT UP A TURTLE! cellmate: oh...
Susan R: I’m not a animal rights fanatic
by any means, but someone who will hurt an
animal just to see pain is a disturbed individual. Most serial killers started out hurting
animals before moving on to humans. And
then to hurt something as innocuous as a
turtle.....
Natalie P: OMG!! It’s a damn turtle people.... a turtle really!! So I take you guys think
we should go to jail now for harming animals?? Deer, snakes, cows, squirrel.. they’ve
all been harmed so you people can eat... how
ya know the turtle wasn’t vicious and bit the
guy?? Smdh....
Chris C: I’m sure if it were a successful looking white man ---^ these comments
wouldn’t be so harsh about throwing a turtle.
I guess they coulda cited the turtle for trespassing.
Linda M: Dumb a** !! At least he will
charged. Why are some.people mean and.
stupid? Dangerous combination. Pray he has
NO children.
Colby B: Its a damn turtle not a person.
Write him a ticket or something and put him
in jail if he does it again. Justice system is so
screwed up.
Terry L: Throw his a** in the road, crack
his skull, and take him to the zoo for a quick
recovery!
Shawna S: Dang, are they gonna come
lock me up for cutting a snakes head off if its
found slithering through my yard?!? Guess I
better start calling ACO to come get them. I
agree that he did wrong, but where do you
draw the line?? He shouldn’t be wasting my
tax dollars sitting in jail while rapist and
child molesters/abusers walk free bc of overcrowding in the jails!!
If you have any information on the whereabouts of these
individuals, please contact your local sheriffs department

A 50-year-old
Chickasha man’s
childish antics got
him and another
woman thrown into
jail July 4 after he
tossed fireworks out
of their moving car
at a group of people
right in front of a
cop.
The officer was helping a disabled motorist at the time, but he was
able to get the tag number off the car as it sped away. It led him
straight to a home in the 1200 block of W. Chickasha Ave.
Officer David Harper-Head and Sgt. Traye Alexander found six
people around in the back yard of the house, two of which were a
5-year-old and 3-month-old baby. When a woman in the group, Angela Tarpley, 28, saw the officers, a look of shear panic crossed her
face. She immediately flicked the cigarette in her hand to the ground,
but the “cigarette” turned out to be hand-rolled and filled with marijuana. She was immediately arrested.
The officers found the man who threw the fireworks, Tony Tarpley,
also in the back yard. He was arrested, too, as he reeked of marijuana
and showed obvious signs of being high. A bag of marijuana and rolling papers were found in his pocket.
At the Grady County Jail, they found three more joints on Tony as
he was being booked in.
Angela faces charges of possession of CDS in the presence of a minor child; Tony was charged with possession of CDS in the presence
of a minor child, possession of drug paraphernalia and bringing contraband into a correctional facility.

A Chickasha man thought he had gotten away from police
June 22 after he tried to break into a woman’s home, but a
Good Samaritan stopped him short of his goal of freedom.
Police were called to the 100 block of Parkway to a home
in Watson’s Mobile Home Park about a burglary in progress.
When they arrived, several witnesses pointed them to the
pool house. There they found Dillion Lewis, 22, and informed
him he was under arrest. Lewis was going to have nothing to
do with going to jail, so when the officers tried to cuff him, he
broke free and took off running. Both officers ran after Lewis
and chased him on foot through the mobile home park.
The chase finally ended when the officers followed Lewis to
the original mobile home the complaint was made from and
found him face down on the ground with a bystander sitting
on top of him. They quickly cuffed Lewis and placed him under arrest. When they searched
him, they found marijuana, a pipe with meth residue inside, and a fuse box with a crystal
substance inside it.
Lewis was transported to the Grady County Jail on complaints of resisting arrest, escaping lawful detention, possession of marijuana, possession of a CDS, possession of paraphernalia and on a warrant out of Grady County.

Summer time can be a time of
fun, whether its at the lake, pool,
or any of the numerous other
activities to be found throughout this great state, but it is also
a time of serious heat. With temperatures reaching into the
100’s many times already, and more to come, I thought I would
touch on the way heat can affect your traveling plans, and some
tips to help you beat the heat!
First, be prepared. Cars suffer in the heat just like we do. If
and when they break down, you’ll want to be ready. Be familiar
with your emergency equipment in your vehicle. This means
learn where your jack, spare tire, and tire tool are. Learn how
to use them. Figuring that out on the side of the road at 102
degrees is no fun at all. The owner’s manual of your vehicle
has a section on roadside emergencies that can help you figure
out where the emergency equipment is stored, and tips on
how to use it. Learn the steps to change a flat! Although we
will be happy to help you if you are broken down, we aren’t
always close, and may not be able to get to you for a long period
of time. If you know how to get yourself out of a roadside
emergency, that’s less time you’ll spend in the heat.
Take lots of water with you if you are going on a trip, especially
if it’s a long one. Have a cell phone with you so you can call
for help if you need it. Be aware of your surroundings when
driving, so you can give the person you call for help an accurate
location for where you are. Also, if you can get your car to a
place of shade, do so. Temperatures can be up to 20 degrees
cooler in a place of shade such as an overpass or large trees.
Lastly, make sure your car is maintained properly. Ever
notice how many pieces of tires you see on the roadway during
the summer? The heat is hard on tires, so make sure they are
properly inflated and have good tread. If your tread is worn,
get them replaced! The pavement those tires are rolling on is
even hotter than the thermometer is showing! Visually check
your belts, and make sure all your fluids are filled up. That
ounce of prevention can keep you from being stuck on the side
of the road in 100 plus temperatures.
Preparing for roadside emergencies in the heat is just as
important as it is in the winter, but it seems like we just don’t
prepare the same for it. Just a few minutes of learning how to
change a flat, packing in a case of water, and being aware of
your surroundings can keep a bad day from being a whole lot
worse! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!

The owner of a Chickasha convenient store and several employees were arrested July 13 after a sting operation conducted
by Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents, the Chickasha Police
Department, and District 6 Drug Task Force Officers turned up
he was selling illegal synthetic drugs in his store.
Billy Helms, 73, owner of the Coastal Mart at 9th and Grand,
was charged July 9 in Grady County District Court with unlawful
possession of CDS with intent to distribute.
From January to mid-March of this year, investigators went
into Helms’ store and purchased several items referred to as
“spice,” an illegal Schedule I synthetic controlled dangerous substance.
Three of his employees have also been charged.
New laws took effect at midnight on November 1, 2011. Among
them is a measure targeting synthetic drugs.
Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) Spokesman, Mark Woodward says manufacturers
have flooded the market over the past few years with synthetic products that mimic actual
street drugs like marijuana and cocaine. These products include brand names such as “K2”,
“Spice”, and “Ivory Wave”. Woodward said the products were, before that time, unregulated,
but just as dangerous or deadly as street drugs.
According to reports, the bust was the first of its kind in which a person or persons have
been charged with selling illegal synthetic drugs.
