We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Comanche woman Judy Jay Cox, 48, told police she had consumed “two biggins” after she was pulled over for erratic driving on
June 2.
According to the affidavit, a Stephens County deputy was on patrol near the fairgrounds in Duncan when he saw a truck driving
very slowly southbound on 13th Street. The truck was traveling between 15 and 20 mph in a 45 mph zone and was also weaving back
and forth across the lane. The deputy pulled over the truck, driven
by Cox, and immediately smelled alcohol. Cox also had red watery
eyes and a dog sitting in her lap.
When the deputy told her he had pulled her over due to her driving, she told him it was because of the dog in her lap. She initially
denied drinking any alcohol.
The deputy asked her to sit in the patrol vehicle.
She had to hold on to her truck for support and was very unsteady on her feet. She allegedly
told the officer, “I must say I have been in trouble for drinking and driving in the past.”
The deputy again asked her how much alcohol she had had. She told him “two biggins.”
When the deputy asked her how many ounces each “biggin’” was, she told him, “Too much
for me to be driving.
Her poor performance during the standard field sobriety tests and her admission that she
couldn’t complete some of the tests only confirmed her statement.
Cox is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She
was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 18, 2014.
She just had two biggins!

A Duncan mother was arrested for allegedly
drinking beer while driving her two kids around
Duncan on June 5.
According to the affidavit, a state trooper was
on patrol when he saw a car driving northbound
on Second Street toward state Highway 7, traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued
to drive erratically, failing to stop at signs or use
a blinker. The bumper was also hanging off the
back of the vehicle and dragging on the road. The
trooper turned on his lights to initiate a traffic
stop.
The vehicle pulled into a parking lot, and the
trooper made contact with Sarah Renee Powell,
31. Powell had slurred speech, bloodshot watery eyes and smelled strongly of
alcohol. There were also two kids in the vehicle.
The trooper had her exit the vehicle and noticed that she was unsteady on
her feet. Powell was also unable to stay still. After numerous questions, she
eventually admitted that that had been drinking a little and had taken some
pain pills.
During standard field sobriety tests, it became apparent to the trooper
that Powell was extremely intoxicated, both by alcohol and other substances.
Powell began to cry and asked the trooper to give her a break and not arrest
her. When the trooper told her to turn around because she was under arrest,
Powell balled up her fists and attempted to back away from him.
The trooper once again told her to turn around, and she complied. He
placed her under arrest and put her in the patrol car.
The kids began to cry, but the trooper was unable to console them. Some
employees of a nearby business asked if they could help, and they were eventually able to calm down the kids.
After checking her driver’s license, the trooper discovered it was revoked.
Powell refused the state’s test by telling the trooper, “No, I haven’t drank
anything anyways.”
During a search of her car, the trooper found an opened can of beer on the
passenger side and two unopened cans in the rear floorboard.
Powell is being charged with child endangerment while driving under the
influence, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and
drugs, driving with license revoked and transporting opened container of
beer. She is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and I scheduled to appear in
court on Aug. 13, 2014.

A Duncan man high on meth and in possession of a sawed-off shotgun was
arrested after he attempted to lock himself in his room and take a nap when
police arrived at his residence.
According to the affidavit, a woman told Duncan police on May 29 that her
husband, Jimi Dale Allen Jr., 31, was intoxicated and high on methamphetamine. She said that he was also in possession of a sawed-off shotgun and
was attempting to trade the weapon for meth. When she tried to stop him, he
allegedly hit her in the face with his fists.
She told police that her husband was inside the house. They entered, and attempted to make contact with Allen just inside the front door. He didn’t respond, so they located
him in one of the bedrooms. They tried to open the door, but it was dead-bolted shut.
While police were waiting for assistance from other units, a neighbor told them he found a
sawed-off shotgun under a vehicle in his driveway. He told police Allen had attempted to sell it
to him.
A man on scene started removing part of an air conditioner from the window of the room
where Allen was sleeping. Police made him stop, but they were now able to see Allen lying on his
bed, snoozing away.
As an officer was watching him, Allen suddenly woke up. The officer ordered him to show him
his hands, but Allen attempted to hide. Police were able to get into the room. They arrested Allen, and found three guns only a few feet from where Allen had been sleeping.
Allen is being charged with possession of sawed off shotgun and domestic abuse-assault and
battery. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A Tuttle woman who was pulled
over and subsequently arrested on
June 12, told an officer “Ya’ll ain’t getting this,” before attempting to hand
over her purse to a friend.
Guess what? The officer got it, and it
wasn’t pretty.
According to the affidavit, a Tuttle
police officer was on patrol when he
saw a truck traveling in the 100 block
of West Bond street. The truck, driven
by 27-year-old Crystal Deeann Messick, had two children in it that were
not in seat belts or car seats.
The officer pulled the vehicle over and made contact with Messick.
A check through dispatch revealed that Messick had a warrant in
Grady County.
The officer told Messick to call someone to come get her kids.
When the person arrived, Messick told the officer he wasn’t getting
her purse before taking it to her friend’s vehicle and trying to hand it
over. The officer told Messick to bring him the purse and he placed
her under arrest. He searched the purse for officer safety before giving it to the friend.
No wonder Messick didn’t want the officer to get her purse!
Inside, the officer found a peppermint container that contained a
bag with a white crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. He also found two glass pipes with a white residue.
The officer transported Messick to the Grady County Jail on the
charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She was
released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
July 9, 2014.

A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputy positioned along State
Road 415, in Osteen, Fla., spotted a car go by and noticed the passenger - a rather large man - wasn’t wearing his seat belt. When he
stopped the vehicle, the deputy immediately noticed that both the
driver and passenger were nervous. And he also noticed that the
passenger still wasn’t wearing his seat belt.
Schuylkill County residents may want to think twice about drinking the water after a Pennsylvania water plant employee was charged
with urinating into a filtering unit while he was at work back in April.
Paul Herb allegedly peed into a filter while he was working for the
Schuylkill County Municipal Authority. The SCMA treats drinking
water for people living in the area around Pottsville.
A Montana man was arrested for driving under the influence after
Gallatin County deputies say he drove drunk to bail his wife out of
jail for her DUI arrest hours earlier.
62-year-old Rick Fancher of Big Sky was arrested and charged
with this third DUI.
Prosecutors say jail staff reported Fancher left the jail at 3:30 a.m.
after trying to post bond for 44-year-old Stacey Jo Fancher. She
had been arrested for aggravated DUI with a blood-alcohol level of
0.201. A deputy stopped Rick Fancher’s pickup near the jail. Court
records say his blood-alcohol level was 0.159.

A Lawton man who almost collided with an officer was in
disbelief when he was arrested for drunk driving and told
the officer the accident almost happened because the officer
didn’t have his lights on.
On June 5, a Rush Springs officer heard reports of a possible drunk driver traveling northbound toward Highway
81, the affidavit states. The officer went to the location, and
it wasn’t long before he saw a vehicle driving down the road
with the majority of the vehicle in the shoulder.
The officer had to throw his car in gear and drive into the
ditch to avoid a collision. The vehicle swerved as it drove by.
The officer pulled over the vehicle and made contact with
the driver, 39-year-old James Christopher Hazzard, who
was on his cellphone. The officer observed that Hazzard’s
eyes were red and glassy and he smelled like alcohol.
When the officer told Hazzard to put his phone down, he refused. The officer told him
to exit his vehicle, and Hazzard told whomever was on the phone, “Hey, I want you to
hear this.”
Hazzard continued to act in disbelief that he was being arrested for drunk driving,
and told police he had only consumed one beer. But, he failed field sobriety tests and
admitted the buying a 12-pack of beer and just opening one. Inside Hazzard’s truck, the
officer found two containers with alcohol in them, an open beer and a jar full of Norcos.
Hazzard told the officer he had gotten lost, and when a convenience store clerk told
him he was in Marlow, he got scared because he had heard Marlow was a racist town.
He explained that he was trying to drive away while talking on his phone and opening a
beer when he almost hit the officer.
When the officer told him he was actually in Rush Springs, he replied, “It’s all Marlow.”
Hazzard is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of
alcohol, transporting an opened container of beer and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court
on July 11, 2014.

If you asked ten different
people, you might get
ten different answers.
Some might say that sin is
“doing something wrong
or breaking the law,” while
others might say that sin
is “hurting another person
or taking an innocent life.”
Still others might deny the
very existence of sin, saying
that there is no such thing
as right or wrong– in short, that there are no real absolutes in this world.
However, most people agree (regardless of culture) that there are certain
actions that are wrong, and should be punishable by fines, imprisonment or
even death.
Even the person who “doesn’t believe in right or wrong” would have a hard
time observing a maniac rape and murder a small child, and say that what
happened to them was not a crime.
Sin is a terminal disease that eats away at the very heart of this planet. It
destroys individual people, families, cultures, even the earth itself. Our world
is defiled by it, yet most people cannot even give a definition of the word, or
grasp the true gravity of the situation. What is sin? Surely sin is more that ten
different opinions from ten different people. Is there any final authority on
this subject?
The Bible says that sin is a heart condition. It is a condition of rebellion
against God, which stems from pride. The Bible even refers to pride as
“original sin.” The Hebrew definition of the word sin means “to miss the
mark.” God created us to be like Him, but our pride and rebellion make us
fall far short of that purpose. Our actions, though they may be “sinful” are
really only the fruit of our rebellion against God. Our outward actions merely
mirror our true inner condition. It is our true inner condition that God is
concerned with. He knows the “real you” better than you yourself do, because
he sees “the inner man” and all your secret thoughts and motives.
Bible Says:
What exactly is sin?

Apparently blood is not thicker
than grass!
Not according to Pocasset man
Brent Alan Layton, 51, anyways. He
allegedly attacked his brother and
uncle during a fight over a lawnmower on May 28.
According to the affidavit, a Grady
County deputy was dispatched to
the 400 block of County Road 1250
due to reports of someone recklessly shooting a firearm. When he
arrived, he made contact with two
men. One of them told the officer
that he and his brother, Layton, had
argued about a riding lawnmower.
Apparently nothing pisses off Layton more than a riding lawnmower, because he allegedly pulled out a box cutter during the altercation and threatened to cut his brother.
The brother said Layton’s uncle told him to settle down, but Layton started hitting him in the face. Layton’s brother said he was
eventually able to remove Layton from the residence.
The uncle confirmed the brother’s story, and said after he told
Layton to put the knife away, Layton started hitting him in the head.
The brother pulled Layton off of his uncle before taking him away
from the residence. The uncle told the deputy approximately five
minutes after they removed Layton from the residence, several shots
were heard being fired from outside the house. Several other witnesses confirmed that shots were indeed fired.
Layton is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous
weapon and domestic abuse. He was released on a $2,500 bond and
is scheduled to appear in court on July 30, 2014.
