Dakota Blake Dennis, 22, was arrested after he allegedly stole
the movie “50 Shades of Grey” from a local convenience store in
the early morning hours on May 10.
The Comanche man may have been arrested before he got to
see all 50 shades, but he definitely saw at least one shade of
orange.
A Comanche officer was dispatched to the store in the 200
block of South Rodeo Drive at 10:45 a.m. due to a shoplifting
complaint. An employee showed him store surveillance footage
that showed Dennis take the DVD off the counter at approximately 5:22 a.m.
According to the police report, an employee set the DVD on
the counter. Dennis then picked it up while looking at other
movies. He then put the DVD inside his coat. The employee
asked him if he had the movie and if he did, he should put it
back. But Dennis lied and said he didn’t.
After watching the surveillance footage, police left the store and headed to the man’s residence. An employee called the officer about 10 minutes later and let him know Dennis was
back.
When police confronted him, he said the DVD was at a friend’s house. He admitted to stealing it and said he “felt bad.”
Dennis is being charged with petit larceny of merchandise from retailer. He was released
on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2015.

Some couples just shouldn’t be together -- like Duncan man
Marvin James King, 57, and 41-year-old Kelly Jeanette Stubblefield of Marlow.
The couple was arrested on April 22 due to a fight that happened because Stubblefield wouldn’t take King to the store to
get more booze.
According to the police report, a Stephens County deputy was
dispatched to the District 1 County Barn at approximately 5:34
p.m. to speak with Stubblefield. When he arrived, he noticed a
huge crack in the middle of her windshield, and the driver’s side
door had multiple dents and a shoe print in the middle of the
door. There was also glass all over the car.
Stubblefield said King caused the damage to her vehicle after she refused to take him to get a drink. She said he started
kicking the door and broke the windshield. He also pushed her
before she jumped into her car and drove away.
The deputy went to the location of the incident in the 3400
block of Hillcrest Drive. There was glass all over the yard. King
admitted to breaking the windshield because he was mad at
Stubblefield for hitting him. He said he asked her to take him to
the store and she said no, so he told her to get out of the house.
Stubblefield then grabbed a mirror off of the wall and hit him
with it. He said he was eventually able to get the mirror away
from her, and he used it to break the car windshield.
Stubblefield is being charged with assault and battery. She was released on a $1,000 bond
and is scheduled to appear in court on June 2, 2015.
King is being charged with damaging a vehicle. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is
scheduled to appear in court on June 2, 2015.

Duncan man David Wayne Cook, 44, allegedly broke into a man’s barn and stole a car,
scanner and chainsaw on April 15. He was arrested for stealing the items he said he took out
of spite.
According to the police report, the victim contacted the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and
told a deputy that Cook had broken into his barn
and stolen multiple items, including his car and
some tools. He said Cook wanted an F-150 that
was in the barn, but he owed money on it and
the victim told him he couldn’t have it until it was paid in full.
While they were speaking, a woman called and told the victim she
found Cook and the stolen vehicle at Walmart. The woman said she
followed Cook into the parking lot and blocked him in so he couldn’t
go anywhere.
When police arrived, Cook admitted to taking the car because he
was mad the victim “wouldn’t let him have the F-150.”
After taking Cook to jail, the officer returned to the stolen vehicle.
He found the stolen scanner in the trunk. The victim also found his
chainsaw at a local pawn store. Sure enough, the officer found the
saw pawned by Cook.
Cook later told the officer that he knew they had him on surveillance at Walmart and the pawn shop.
He said on April 15, he went to the victim’s barn to get his truck
from the barn. He then jumped into the truck and hooked a chain up
to the lock on the barn doors and floored it until the lock broke.
Cook said he also grabbed the keys to the stolen car, and took the
scanner and chainsaw.
He also said he was going to return the car, but he kept it because
he needed to “take care of business.” He also said he took a 2015 decal off the the truck and taped it onto the car so cops would “see a
valid, or what would look like a valid sticker.”
Cook is being charged with unauthorized use of vehicle, burglary
in the second degree and false declaration of ownership in pawn. His
bond was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
May 14, 2015.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

What you’re saying
about this on...
David C: Should be a felony
Phillip R: think this was a waste of time. when distracted driving laws already
existed and the police didnt enforce them. shoot they were often just as guilty as the rest of
us. yet this gives them immuity and lets them be above the law
Cale R: Because that will make them stop.
Christina B: Little late isn’t it?! Way behind as usual. Other countries do not
allow any phone use whatsoever while driving.
Jon N: I like the idea! But just a feel good law that they can’t enforce!
Amanda K: YES YES YES!!!!
Anita G: Its a shame we had to wait til an officer was killed, should have been a
number of lifes saved including his!
Todd K: Previous law was a secondary law meaning the police could not stop someone for doing the offense, the new law is a primary law meaning you can be pulled over for
only texting now.
Michael L: Still ain’t going to stop folks from texting and driving, no matter how
The bill is called the “Trooper
Nicholas Dees and Keith Burch
Act of 2015,” in honor of the
troopers who were involved in a
crash in January east of Shawnee.
A driver, who was allegedly
updating social media while
driving, hit the troopers, killing Dees and seriously injuring
Burch.
According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, texting while driving makes drivers 23 times more likely to be involved in a traffic
accident.
Governor Fallin was joined by members of the troopers’ families as she signed
the bill into law.
She says she hopes the law will save lives.
“My hope is that this bill does more than just change the law,” Fallin said. “As a
state, we need to change the way we think about texting while driving. The fact is
it’s dangerous. If we can get people to think about it that way, we can drive more
responsibly, save a lot of lives and make our roads much safer.”
The law makes texting while driving a primary offense, meaning police can pull
anyone who does it over and give them a $100 ticket.
Senator Ervin Yen says that making texting and driving a primary offense will
have a big impact.
“States with primary-enforcement laws saw an overall reduction of three percent in traffic fatalities,” he says. “For young drivers between 15 and 21, there was
an 11 percent reduction in fatalities. That’s huge.”
He says research shows states that only had secondary enforcement saw virtually no change.
“Primary enforcement saves lives,” says Yen.
Oklahoma is the 46th state to have a law banning texting while driving.
It has exceptions for certain emergency situations and specifies it will not apply
to devices operated in a voice-activated mode in which a driver’s hands would not
be needed to write, send or read a text message.
The law goes into effect Nov. 1.
KFOR.COM
Gov. Mary Fallin signed HB 1965 into law
Tuesday afternoon, making texting
while driving illegal in Oklahoma
stiff the penalty.
Brad B: I hope they find someone to enforce it. Was on my bike yesterday. Seven
striaght drivers passed me, all texting or looking at phones. This was in the Arbuckles
where there are so many wrecks.
Keith S: This won’t help anything. Especially with speech to text software in most
phones. Technology has already out paced this new law.
Bryan W: So lame, I hope they actually apply this to themselves I see cops on their
phones more than anyone else
Ken W: About time
Sarah H: Nice idea, but we have distracted driving laws in effect and that has
changed nothing same with drunk driving....laws in place but people still break it and still
somehow manage to continue to break it till they kill someone or themselves
Winnie B: I wonder if it will apply to cops that are using their MDT’s while driving?
William D: Can’t keep implementing new laws, all the laws in the world wont
make up for common sense! Pretty soon we won’t be able to leave the house without knowingly or unknowingly breaking some law. Land of the free, really?
Dorothy E: I totally approve
Chris S: I’m glad there is a law for drinking and driving cause no one does that
either. Against the law or not, prolly wouldn’t of saved that officer
Dessa M: Let me know how this works out for you.. And if it passes for us it should
also go in affect for the cops too.. I’ve seen them driving and texting.. just because they wear
a badge and work for the state or city’s doesnt mean they can get away with it while they
give us tickets!!
Kristal N: I approve!!! But people will just find a more sneaky way to text while
driving and not be seen smh...
Katherine G: My worry is that it is going to be used as a reason to stop and mess
with people..all the officer has to say is he thought someone was texting, and it gives them
valid reason to pull someone over. It’s a good law, but it’s going to be massively abused.
Mark M: They finally got this passage completed. If one life is saved then this bill
is worth it. Thanks Governor Mary Fallin.

Ninnekah woman Krystal Machelle Bowen, 30, was arrested after police found her
driving around town without any clothes on
on May 7. She initially told police she wasn’t
sure what was going on, but later admitted
that she messed up.
A Grady deputy was dispatched to a gas station on Highway 81 and Highway 277 shortly
after 11:30 p.m. due to a woman causing a
disturbance. About the same time, dispatch
advised police that a white vehicle had been
stolen from a nearby oil rig.
Police found a nude Bowen and the stolen vehicle at the gas station.
Bowen told an officer she woke up in a house earlier and didn’t know
where she was, so she ran out the door and across the street to the oil
rig. She said she was scared, so she jumped in the vehicle and took off
driving.
The owner of the vehicle arrived on location a short time later. He
told police he was working on the rig, when one of his coworkers called
him and asked if anyone had just left the rig “in a hurry.”
The victim said he didn’t know anyone had left, but when he looked
to the area where he had parked his vehicle, he noticed it was gone. A
short while later, the victim said a white car pulled up to the rig, and a
man asked if they had seen a naked woman walking around.
The officer went to the residence in the 700 block of County Road
1420, where Bowen had allegedly woken up at earlier. There was a
white vehicle in the driveway.
A man exited the car and approached the officer. He said he and
Bowen had been “running around” all day. She was supposed to stay
with him that night. He said she started acting crazy and she ran out
the door while taking her clothes off. He tried to get her to come back
inside, but the naked woman refused. The man said he lost sight of her
when she ran toward the oil rig.
Bowen later admitted she knew where she was all along. She said she
stole the car from the oil rig, and she knew it was wrong.
Bowen is being charged with larceny of automobile. Her bond was
set at $15,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on June 3, 2015.

Alex man Danny Ray Harrison, 53, let a bottle slip during a
traffic stop on April 21. He tried to pick it up and put it back in
his car before an officer saw, but he was too slow.
His friend, Gregory Marlon Hughes, 64, tried to help him, but
the Alex man was also arrested for obstruction.
According to the police report, an Alex police officer stopped
Harrison in the 600 block of Fifth Street at approximately 9
p.m., because he saw the man “improperly backing up” from
H Street onto Second Street. While the officer was in his patrol
car checking Harrison’s information, the man opened his truck
door. And, oops! A bottle of alcohol fell out.
Harrison grabbed the bottle and jumped back in his vehicle,
but it was too late. The officer saw the whole thing.
Another officer arrived to assist, and he noticed Harrison
smelled like alcohol. When he asked the man to step out of his
truck to take a couple tests, Harrison told him, “I’m not getting
out.”
Officers then “helped” the man out of his truck.
As they were getting the man out of his truck, Hughes approached them, despite police commands to stay away. Hughes
then grabbed one of the officers by the shirt and pulled him away
from Harrison. The officer took him to the ground and placed
him in handcuffs.
Despite a brief struggle, Harrison was also soon wearing a pair
of handcuffs. When an officer tried to read the man implied consent, he said, “I ain’t listening’ to s—.”
Both men were transported to jail.
Hughes is being charged with obstructing an officer. He was
released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 5, 2015.
Harrison is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol
and resisting an officer. He was released on a $4,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in
court on June 2, 2015.

Christian Isaiah Benson, 18, scared the
daylights out of a man when he allegedly
kicked his door while searching for a dog on
May 5. The Chickasha man was arrested after he admitted to kicking the door because
the man was “rude” to him.
According to the affidavit, a man contacted
Chickasha police at approximately 6:35 a.m.
because a couple of youngsters were causing
trouble around his property. He told an officer he was getting ready for work at his home
in the 1900 block of S. 21st Street when he
heard the doorbell ringing “sporadically.” His wife had just left for
work, so he called her to make she she hadn’t come back.
Nope, the doorbell ringing wasn’t her.
The man said as he walked toward his door, he heard a banging
noise. He raised the blinds and saw a man later identified as Benson kicking his door. He said he yelled at the man to stop. He then
opened the door and asked the man and his juvenile accomplice what
the heck they were doing.
They said they were looking for their lost dog. The man told them
he didn’t have their dog. He said the men then took off walking north
on 21st Street.
When police located Benson, he told officers he and his friend followed a stray dog to the residence. They saw it go behind the residence, so they knocked on the door. Benson said no one answered,
but it made him mad because he could hear someone inside the
house. So, he knocked louder. He said a man answered the door and
started cussing at them.
When he told the man about the dog, Benson said he told him he
didn’t have the dog, so they left.
He admitted to kicking the door after speaking to the man because
he was “rude” to them.
Benson is being charged with malicious injury to property and contributing to the delinquency of minors. He was released on a $5,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 20, 2015.
