A Comanche man caught creeping
around a lake house by a reserve officer was
taken to jail after stolen items and drugs
were found in his possession.
On January 30 at approximately 12:32
p.m., a Stephens County deputy was advised that a reserve officer was following a
vehicle, the affidavit states. The officer said
he saw a man looking around his neighbor’s
house. When he went to investigate, the
man jumped into his truck and left the residence, traveling at a high rate of speed.
The officer followed the vehicle until it
stalled on County Road 1880, approximately two miles west of Highway 81. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as 40-yearold David Edward Oster, and he asked him what had happened.
Oster said he was just looking at a vacant house to “fix up” when a
man with a gun on his hip approached him. He said he got nervous and
left.
While they were speaking, the deputy noticed numerous golf clubs in
the bed of the man’s truck. He asked Oster where the clubs had come
from; Oster said they were his. He denied going inside the house.
The reserve officer, however, told the deputy he saw Oster walk out of
the garage. The deputy called the owner of the house and asked him if
he owned any golf clubs. When the man said yes, the deputy asked him
to describe them. He also took a picture of the clubs and sent them to
them man. The owner said the clubs were his. He also said no one had
permission to be on his property.
Oster was placed under arrest and taken to jail.
When the deputy conducted an inventory of the man’s truck, he
found a cellophane wrapper containing a partially burner marijuana
joint -- it tested positive for THC.
He also found other items believed to be stolen from the residence in
Oster’s vehicle.
Oster is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property and
possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was released on a
$5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 25, 2015.

A Duncan man was arrested January 31 after he allegedly attacked
his girlfriend for no apparent reason other than being pissed off
when he returned home from Walmart.
According to the police report, a Duncan police officer was dispatched to a residence in the 3500 block of N. Sixth shortly after 9
p.m. due to a domestic situation where both parties needed medical
treatment. When he arrived, he made contact with a woman who
had injuries to her mouth and eyes. She told him that her boyfriend,
52-year-old Jackie Ray Nicols, had become angry with her and assaulted her. She said she didn’t know why he was mad -- he had just
come home home from a Walmart trip.
According to the victim, both she and Nicols were intoxicated during the altercation, but it seemed Nicols was a little worse for wear. According to the officer,
Nicols was so intoxicated that “he could not tell [the officer] what had happened” when questioned about the situation.
The officer placed Nicols under arrest and asked him if he needed medical assistance.
Nicols said yes.
The transported him to the hospital to be medically cleared to go to jail.
Once he was treated for his injuries, he was then transported to Stephens County Jail.
Nicols is being charged with domestic abuse - assault and battery. He was released on a
$5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 25, 2015.

Duncan woman Tamara Dawn Hesbrook, 29, was able to smuggle
more than $300 worth of merchandise out of a Duncan Walgreen’s.
Someone’s always watching, though. Store security cameras caught
the woman leaving the store with the stolen goods in her hand.
On February 1, a Duncan police officer was dispatched to the store
in the 100 block of North Highway 81 shortly after 3 a.m. According to
the affidavit, the employee told the officer a woman, later identified as
Hesbrook, concealed $305.06 worth of store merchandise and walked
past the registers without paying.
The officer watched the store’s surveillance video, and he saw Hesbrook leave the store with the unpurchased items in her hand.
Police found Hesbrook’s vehicle parked in the south parking lot. When they walked up to
the car, they found the alleged thief crouched down in the passenger’s side floorboard.
An officer opened the door and told her to get out of the car. She exited, and the officer
placed her under arrest.
Police searched her vehicle for the stolen items. They found the merchandise, along with a
clear pipe with residue, a bag containing a clear crystal-like substance that later field-tested
positive for methamphetamine and a cigarette wrapper containing a green leafy substance
that tested positive for marijuana.
Hesbrook is being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Her bond was set at $25,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on March 25, 2015.

The National Association
of Students Against Violence
Everywhere is a nonprofit
aiming to provide safer environments for our youth.
Its mission is to decrease the
potential for violence in our
schools and communities by
promoting meaningful student involvement, education
and service opportunities.
SAVE’s Vision: Schools and
communities will be safer
and more secure, free of fear
and conducive to learning as
a result of students being actively involved in meaningful violence
prevention efforts.
How It Got Started: SAVE was started by students in Charlotte,
North Carolina in 1989 after the tragic death of a classmate who was
trying to break up a fight at an off-campus party. A group of students
who did not want this death to be “just another statistic” took action
and created a violence prevention program.
Chapters: SAVE has evolved into a national association with chapters in elementary, middle and high schools as well as at colleges and
community organizations across the country. Today, there are more
than 200,000 students involved nationwide.
Activities: Student members take the lead in planning chapter
activities by using the three SAVE Essential Elements: conducting
crime prevention activities, conducting conflict management activities and providing meaningful service through projects in schools
and communities. SAVE chapters also plan safety rallies and safety
awareness campaigns, engage in peer mentoring to younger students, and conduct fun and educational meetings.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Unlucky day just got

Chickasha woman Emily Marie Holt, 34, was
locked up after she failed to turn off her bright
lights when driving past an officer. Well, that, and
the marijuana and methamphetamine found in her
vehicle.
On February 13, a Chickasha officer was on patrol when he noticed a black SUV traveling eastbound in the 400 block of West Choctaw Avenue
shortly after midnight. According to the police report, the SUV had its bright lights on and as the officer approached
the vehicle, the driver failed to turn them off. It also appeared that
the SUV didn’t have working low-beam headlights.
The officer stopped the vehicle and met with the driver, identified as Holt. While he was speaking with her, he noticed her vehicle
smelled like marijuana. He asked another officer to take a whiff just
to make sure -- he said he also smelled the weed.
The officer asked Holt and a passenger to exit the vehicle. When he
searched the front of the SUV, he found a rolled burnt cigarette containing a green leafy substance that field-tested positive for marijuana. In a purse, he found a glass smoking pipe with a white substance
inside of it. He also located a small plastic bag containing a white
substance. Both the pipe and the substance field-tested positive for
meth.
He placed Holt under arrest, and she agreed to speak to him. She
said the drugs were hers, and she had been smoking marijuana
shortly before the traffic stop.
Some of Holt’s behaviors led the officer to believe she was under
the influence of some kind of intoxicant.
The officer took Holt to the police department and administered
sobriety tests. She didn’t do too well. Holt was then transported and
booked into jail.
Holt is being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled
dangerous substance, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He
was released on a $5,00 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
March 3, 2015.

A hardcore Chickasha music fan was
arrested for burglary after she allegedly
broke into a man’s house and stole a
small vinyl record entitled, “All Time
Fontana Hits.”
Forget Napster or Limewire or other
illegal music downloading sites; you’d
better watch out for 54-year-old Linda
Ruth Williams. She won’t just steal
your music online -- she’ll take your
music from your house.
According to the affidavit, a Chickasha officer was dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of S. Eighth
Street in regard to a burglary report. En route, the officer was advised that the suspect had last been seen walking west on Minnesota
Avenue. A man told him when he got home from work, he found a
woman in his residence. He said she had been wearing a blue sweater
and tan pants.
The officer located a woman, identified as Williams, walking westbound on Minnesota who matched the man’s description of the intruder. He detained her and went back to the residence.
It appeared as though someone had kicked in a front window of
the house just enough to enter, and the inside of the home was in
complete “disarray.” The couch cushions had been removed from the
couch, and a hideaway bed was partially pulled out.
The man said when he walked into his living room, he found the
woman standing there. He positively identified Williams as the intruder.
The officer took Williams to jail. At the jail, he found the record in
her possession.
He spoke with the victim who said the record was his.
Williams is being charged with burglary in the second degree. Her
bond was set at $10,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
March 4, 2015.

A man arrested for stealing steaks because he was hungry
and couldn’t afford to buy them was also three sheets to the
wind and admitted to purchasing alcohol.
James Wesley Kirby, 57, was taken to jail February 10 after
he allegedly stuffed some meat down his pants and left the grocery store without paying.
According to the police report, a Chickasha officer was dispatched to the store in the 200 block of S. Fifth at approximately 11:45 a.m. for a shoplifting. An employee told the officer a
man, later identified as Kirby, had entered the store, walked to
the meat department and put two packages of New York strip
down his pants. He then exited the store.
The employee said this wasn’t the first time Kirby had stolen
food from the store.
When the officer made contact with Kirby, and he “spontaneously uttered without being questioned” that he had taken the steaks because he was hungry
and couldn’t afford to buy them.
The man returned the steaks to the store employee and apologized for taking the meat.
As the officer was speaking with Kirby, he noticed the man smelled like alcohol. He asked
him if he had been drinking. Kirby said yes, and he admitted to spending money on alcohol.
The officer placed him under arrest.
Kirby is being charged with larceny of merchandise from retailer and public intoxication.
His bond was set at $1,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on March 3, 2015.
