Miller has faced multiple criminal complaints, including disorderly conduct in 2011 while filming The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The charge was first related to marijuana possession but later dropped, shifting focus to two citations for disorderly conduct.
The actor faced further attention concerning a crime in 2020 involving a choking incident at a bar in Iceland. This is not the only time that Miller has been involved in physical altercations. Earlier this year, Miller was arrested at a Hawaiian Karaoke bar for disorderly conduct and harassment. Additionally, in April, Miller was arrested for second-degree assault in Pāhoa. Now, Miller is back in the news because of the star’s relationship with an 18-year-old woman, Tokata Iron Eyes. Iron Eyes’ parents claim that Miller is allegedly grooming their daughter. They state that Miller uses violence and intimidation tactics to groom Iron Eyes. Iron Eyes’ parents also argue that Miller is using drugs such as LSD to control their daughter. They have issued a protective order through the tribal court, arguing that Miller is grooming and “psychologically manipulating, physically intimidating and endangering the safety and welfare” or Iron Eyes; however, the order has not been served because Miller and Iron Eyes cannot be located. Iron Eyes and Miller met when the actor began partaking in Sioux tribe projects. Miller met Iron Eyes when she was 12 at the Standing Rock Reservation, North Dakota; Miller was 23 at the time. The missing 18-year-old’s parents claim that Miller provided both alcohol and drugs to Iron Eyes and flew her out to places like New York, London, Hawaii, and more.
Iron Eyes’ parents suggest that they initially allowed their underage daughter to travel because she traveled with other tribal members. The first trip that Iron Eyes took was in 2017 for the Fantastic Beasts premiere. Her parents state that when Iron Eyes was only 14, Miller attempted to sleep in her bed. The chaperone, however, stopped this from happening.
